Hi um sorry to bother you, first off, congrats on being so close to top surgery!! I hope everything goes well for you. I've been having some issues with my gender lately, I'm AFAB but I think I might be nonbinary. How can you tell? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question I'm just scared I'm gonna look like I'm faking it and I just want to know your experience with it. I've been feeling weird about gender presentation and my birthname mainly, and I'm somewhat uncomfortable with she/her but I feel like I could go by both she/her and they/them.. thank you for your time;;

hello! thank you!! so, everyone’s experience with transness is different, the way everyone starts knowing they’re trans is different, everything from that realization to transitioning to living as a trans person is unique to each individual, there is no wrong way to do it!

i would say, firstly, you do NOT have to worry about ‘looking like you’re faking it,’ its totally understandable that you would be worried about that, but seriously, the only people who would see you experimenting with your gender and judge you for it or say you’re not a real trans/nonbinary person are transphobes, and you don’t need their approval to be yourself.

i think with figuring out gender stuff, it’s difficult to find answers when you’re only dealing with your internal feelings, which are often murky and not straighforward. instead of asking “what is my gender?”, try asking yourself, “do i want to be girl? do i want to be nonbinary? do i want to change my gender presentation?”

if you want to be nonbinary, or you want to try changing up your gender presentation, i fully think you should do it. worst case scenario is you try out a new label, new pronouns, maybe a new name, get some new clothes or try a new style, maybe change ur hair or something, and then you realize it’s not right for you, and you say alright nvm, i’m a girl. and then you move forward from there. no harm done, you tried something and it didn’t work out, that’s how a lot of life works and it’s totally fine.

best case scenario, you find something that brings you joy, whether it’s using they/them pronouns, dressing different, going by a new name, using the label nonbinary, or any combination, and you become happier and more at home with yourself, understand yourself better, and move your life in the direction that feels right as far as social/physical/medical transition (which you also don’t have to do to be trans/nonbinary!)

basically, i think you have little to lose and a lot to gain from experimenting with your gender identity and presentation, and if you think it’s something you might want to do, you should try it out! and you can do it totally by yourself, or tell your friends, or go as slow or fast as you want, again, there are no rules, it’s all about finding out what makes you most happy and comfortable. don’t feel pressured to do it a certain way, just listen to yourself.

personally, i was very alienated from my agab for my entire life, and as soon as i had the vocabulary to express how i felt, i was like yep i’m trans/nonbinary. but some people don’t figure it out until a lot later and that’s totally fine as well! and i’ve cycled thru so many labels, it’s not like i had it all figured out instantly either. it takes a lot of experimenting and just plain living life to understand yourself! don’t feel like you need to have it all figured out straight away, just try stuff out and see what feels right :)

i also quite like the pronoun dressing room, which gives you examples of texts with any name & pronouns you enter, which can help you see what you like a lil bit! also, using she/her and they/them pronouns is totally cool, you can also change ur mind later, that’s fine! god knows i still struggle with what pronouns to use after 5 years of knowing im trans lol

summary: so i found an eviction note on my door when i came home from a shift so i looked on a bulletin board in the lobby and i saw an ad for a roommate and that ad was from you, my really cute neighbor and i was wondering if that offer still stands???

it was midnight and you were absolutely slumped, stressed, and kind of angry

work really kicked your ass that night

working at a 24/7 diner sucked so much cause sometimes the people would come at odd times

and there were some snappy customers

that night during your shift there was a particularly rude customer that ruined your mood so you just really wanted to lay down in your bed

but once you go to your door you found an eviction note saying that they’re going to kick you out in a week if you don’t pay your rent

right then and there you could feel all of the stress from that day form into tears

so you open your door in a haste and c r y

because??? you don’t get payed until next week??? so you’re basically screwed

but you decide to try and sleep it off because you are way too tired for this and it’s your day off tomorrow anyway

when you wake up you forget about the eviction note but you remember when you go to make coffee since it’s sitting on the counter

you let out the Biggest Sigh ever

you leave the paper on the counter and then you go down to the lobby to see the bulletin board to see if there are any roommate papers or open apartments

when you look you see something

‘looking for a roommate! contact at +xxx-xxx-xxxx na jaemin’

and you recognize the name cause hey!!! that’s your neighbor!!!

you never really talked to him before, only the few nods of the head at each other when you see each other

he’s cute or whatever

anyway

you decide you’re going to ask jaemin if you could be his roommate cause that seems better than living on your own

smh rent is high these days what were you thinking of anyway HAHA

moving on though

you go back up and try to build up the courage to knock on his door

but you don’t even know if he’s home

you knock anyway, and about a few seconds later you can see jaemin’s bright smile

angels are singing

‘did you need something y/n?’

you get snapped out of your daze

‘uh i saw the ad of you needing a roommate, and i was wondering if that offer still stands??’

and he looks confused cause? you’re his neighbor w hat??

and you see the confused look so you start to explain to him that you just got an eviction note last night and you really don’t know where else to go

your parent don’t live in the same country as you

your friends,,,,, uhhhh ??? very m i a i guess

and you won’t get payed until next week so you start to really beg him to be his roommate

and he can see how stressed you are so he accepts

and you just give him such a big smile and he metaphorically melts to the ground

and you really don’t even have to pack anything the whole week you move your stuff into his apartment and get rid of a l o t of things

you just found out you were a hoarder LMAO

but anywho!!

it takes a couple more days than planned to move everything into the other bedroom

but it’s all good

so the day you finally moved everything into his apartment he asked if you guys wanted to go grocery shopping cause his your guys’ kitchen was empt y

but you declined cause you needed to fix and arrange some stuff in your new room

and hes all like no problem i’ll just ask a friend to go with me, i’ll see you in a few hours!! and he grins and locks the door

you didn’t even fix stuff you just knocked out cold onto your bed

anyway fast forward it’s been a few days since you moved in

it’s been a lil awkward cause you guys don’t really interact with each other

your guys’ work schedules don’t match so hes always out when youre home and vice versa

so you never really get to talk with him

but!!! by some miracle your job/school schedules do match

and you guys FINALLY talk and break the VERY awkward tension

the dynamic in your house is so much better wow

sometimes when either of you couldn’t sleep you guys would venture out or just crash into the other’s room for the night

one time jaemin’s friend walked in on you guys cuddling in his bed cause he had a spare key

his friend (jeno) asked him about it a while later and jaemin was so blatant

‘oh we’re just friends’

‘mhm sure jan’

‘shut up jee-no’

so it’s been months now

(yes i time skipped sigh)

but anyway, jeno was still Skeptical cause?? friends don’t do all that couple stuff

literally everyone Been Knew you guys like each other except for:

and he just goes ‘do you like them?????’

jeno just looks him in the eyes and goes ‘not even a little bit??’

‘i’m sure’

and so jaemin just sits and thinks for a little though

cause hm,,,,, maybe he does like you-OH MY GOd HE LIKES YoU

and he has an internal breakdown cause oh my god???? what??? when???

not that there’s anything bad about you!!! he just,,, as cliche as it may sound

he doesn’t want to make anything awkward with you

BUT ITS AWKWARD ANYWAY!!!

and so he decides: to take more shifts and study out at the library cause he doesn’t want to think about this

what he don’t know, is that you’re in your room thinking the s a m e thing blease talk to each other

so you!!! also take more shifts but you stay locked in your room as well

when the dreamies come over one day without a warning you’re both in your rooms just minding your own business

and so when they barge in they’re all like

????? where’s the couple?????

and so jaemin goes out and hes like oh why are you guys here LMAO

‘we wanted to watch movies?? it’s friday cmon go get y/n’

and so he just laughs a little awkwardly but he goes to you anyway

he knocks and goes ‘so uhhh the guys are here and we’re about to watch movies??? wanna hang out ??’ and in his head

he’s just wondering when everything became so awkwar d

oh right when he realized that he likes you

but anywho you open the door and he does a little half smile that makes your stomach flip in a good way

and you smile at him too

when you guys go out though,,,,,

you sit on one end of the couch and jaemin sits on the opposite end

donghyuck sits in between the both of you

‘why aren’t you and jaemin sitting next to each other like usual????’ donghyuck asked you quietly to make sure no one else heard

cause He Knew

you just give him a side eye and you tell him ‘you already know why now Shut the movie is starting’

he leaves it be but in the middle of the movie he gets up to use the restroom

and then chenle says ‘move over i like sitting by the arm of the couch’

‘no just let me sit here’

chenle is just r eally confused ‘but you always sit next to jaemin b l e a s e y/n’

and thats how you two end up next to each other

jisung decides to squish in and so you’re pressed up against jaemin

you dont know who’s more uncomfortable : you or him

the room feels s o awkward and literally everyone feels it

and so you just ‘i’m gonna get something to drink anyone else want water???’

‘i’ll go with you’ and its jaemin standing up

‘i-i um no it’s oka-’

he just takes your hand and he leads you to the kitchen and behind the corner so they won’t see you guys

‘why are we being awkward??’

and you just shrug cause?? you guys literally haven’t talked for w e e k s you dumb bitc-

and he just goes is such a quiet voice

‘i miss you’

and your heart!!! palpitated!!! the hell!!!

‘i-i miss you too’

and so he just hugs you and says Really Confidently

‘i like you, be my baby’

and you !! are about to Faint!

and when you pull back he just ! kisses you really softly

and you’re Red cause oh this is Really Happening Right Now

you guys walk back out of the kitchen (with the drinks) but you’re holding hands

you both are just :D

everyone knew what was happening cause you Guys Aren’t Quiet

just cause they can’t see you doesn’t mean they can’t hear you !!!!

and so they’re just like ‘congrats now shut the movie is still Playing’

you guys are So gross with each other

everyone regrets everything

but anyway!!!

now that you guys are together!!! you guys smooch

you like to smooch his nose and he just laughs every time you do that

okay but when you study for smth you do it in your room cause he’s going to distract you

he still manages to do it

he sends you the Ugliest Texts

he’s such a softie and he’s so happy that he gets to wake up next to you all the time

and ugh my heart! is hurting!

I don't know if I like what the manga is doing with the eri story wise right now. Like, after the new chapter, if eri's quirk ends up doing what I think it does, it will probably be a huge loss for the manga story wise. (I love mirio and nighteye, but in this situation, to get them back this way, would probably feel like a huge cop out)

Ah, can’t say you find me on your side on this, anon - generally I’m a positive person! And I like bnha because it’s a positive story! So, yeah, if Eri’s gonna fix it and avoid deaths and permanent damages all around I’m not gonna mind it one bit. I understand your position on this tho, and I’m pretty sure you’re not alone on it. I guess it’s about what you’re looking for in a story, and what the point the story means to bring across is to begin with - you say that having an all around positive outcome to this arc is gonna be a loss for the manga, but bnha isn’t snk. It’s not Tokyo Ghoul, or D.Gray-man, or any other story made to drive across the point that life is sad and sad things happen and you just gotta deal with it as best as you can. The general point of HeroAca, since the very beginning, is that luck exists! Things can turn out for the best! Look at it, our protagonist didn’t even have a quirk and now he’s got the best one out there. Literally became the successor to the greatest hero alive without doing anything aside from being a nice guy

I mean. I get why you’d wish for a... more real story, I guess. I get that you might like the angst and the realness of life being shitty and bad things happening and all that jazz. But that’s never been bnha’s point? Since the very start? Deku’s whole arc is turning into a fight to show you that you should never lose hope and that even set futures can still be rewritten - and, about that, there’s also how big part of this arc is still about Nighteye and what he saw in All Might’s future, and about Deku wanting to prove that he doesn’t have to die, so a girl that can literally rewind said future to make it go some other way? That’s exactly what you need to counter Nighteye’s quirk. Deku might talk about twisting fate all he wants, but considering how Nighteye’s quirk works and how precise and definitive it is, without something that can make what Nighteye saw happen just to bring it back and change it there was no way Deku could have done much.

As I said, I get why you’d be disappointed in the possibility of a total fix-it, but as far as bnha’s plot goes I don’t think the story’s gonna lose anything with simply keeping up the positive-to-a-naive-point look on life it has always had, if that’s what it decides to do. You might end up finding the story less good then you’d been expecting, but that’s because you were seeing bnha as a genre it has never even tried to be. This is still a story in which at some point holding hands saved the day, after all haha

What a question! And one I don’t have a proper answer to, actually - I like both of them equally but for completely different reasons? MomoJirou is the type of ship I sorta see as more or less canon, like, they’re pretty damn obvious aren’t they? And they’re besties! And the aesthetics work so well! So generally I’m like, if I gotta pick one person for Jirou, basing the decision solely on canon stuff, I’m gonna pick Momo. They’re soft and warm too, have sort of a coffee-shop-AU feel to them, I love it

On the other hand Jirou and Mina don’t really have a significant relationship in canon yet - they’re friends and chill together now and again, but haven’t really interacted much in a proper way for me to say “yes, I can see it, this is a ship with some serious foundation” like I can with Momo. But. I understand this ship in a way I can’t seem to manage with MomoJirou. What Jirou would love in Mina and what Mina would love in Jirou, why they’d love each other, how they’d spend their time together and what the general feel of their story would be - the mood of it and the reasons behind it, I understand them, and I can’t seem to manage to do that with Momo yet.

So the actual answer is, if it’s about which of the two gives me more of a “this might actually be canon” feel, then it’s Momo. I do believe they love each other and their relationship is lovely. But if it’s about which of the two I have more fun thinking about, then Mina. It’s two very different ships with very different moods, after all haha

hello hello congrats on ur first 100!! if u have time for another drabble -- but don't worry abt it if you're too consumed!! -- my name is hanna, my favorite ice cream flavor is dulce de leche, and i'm just a simple girl who likes to play soccer, live in the waves, and occasionally paint and jam out on the uke. maybe a cute lil scenario would be peter being scared of the waves and needing help lmao

“Come on, Pete, it isn’t even that cold!”

“I’m really okay.”

You pouted, folding your arms. Peter was sitting on the towel in his swim trunks, calmly refusing to go swimming. Your ukulele was laying deserted in the sand next to him, exactly where you’d dropped it when you’d jumped up and begged him to bodysurf with you.

“Come on, Peter. It’s really fun, and I know what I’m doing.”

“But I’m all cozy in the sun. Don’t you wanna just sit down and sunbathe and I could maybe rub some suntan lotion on you….” He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

You laughed, stooping and picking up a handful of sand to fling at him. He cried out, scooting backwards. You marched over to him, grabbing his arm and pulling him to his feet.

“Come on, we’re going swimming and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

He protested weakly the whole trek down to the water, but you ignored him. Eventually you were striding confidently into the waves, embracing the chill. When you were up to your waist, you turned.

Peter was standing with his feet in the surf, looking worried.

“Come on, Peter!” you shouted, grinning. “You’re entering a whole new part of my world!”

“I can’t Hanna!” He was shuffling slowly back now. “I’m – I’m scared.”

You paused, watching him. Then you walked forward, grabbing his hand reassuringly. “Come on, I’ll help you through this. We’ll do it together.”

He nodded determinedly, and you smiled. You loved Peter’s courage; it was something that had originally drawn you to him. You walked together, slowly going deeper and deeper into the surf.

Finally, Peter was forced to tread water. He gave a frightened gasp, and you were forced to release his hand, watching him carefully in case he panicked. But he swam strongly, and a smile broke out across his face.

“I- I’m swimming! I’m in the ocean, I’m doing it! Whoooo-hoo!” He ducked under, popping back up and spewing a fountain of seawater into the air. You laughed, paddling over so that you were next to him.

“I did it, Hanna,” he panted.

You could hardly speak, your heart was so full of fondness. You pushed forward, placing your lips against your boyfriends’ firmly. “Yes you did, baby,” you breathed when you pulled away.

Peter leaned forward, and you kissed again. Then he gave an odd gulping noise and ducked under. You laughed when he resurfaced again, a smile on his face.

“Forgot to paddle.”
