#I love writing lore for the dragons and Fandragons

You ever writted a fic about pushing daisies? If not, how about a fic of your ocs? (I know its not a fic if its about your own ocs but SHHH) on an unrelated topic, do you have lore for your dragons on fr?
Okay okay so I don’t have any written stories for my OCs…yet…I want to write out Orphelin and Chad’s story! It’ll probably be a short story, or maybe two chapters, but I think they deserve it for being some of my best fleshed out OCs.
I have no Pushing Daisies fics, which is a shame. I should look into writing some, some times.
And because I haven’t proved much let me give you some of my favorite dragons with Lore. This is Forest:
Forest, Park, and Bonsai together help take care of the forest and work in giving those who deserve second chances, such chances. The more life Forest shares with other dragons the more her body rots away as consequence to giving up her power and life force for the good of others.
It is she who decides what dragons come across her forest live and what dragons end up dying due to her families hands. If a dragon has proven to be worth a second chance, she gives them a pair of flowered branches that rest upon their shoulders. These branches last until the dragon has finished their final deed in life and wilt so the dragon may move on.
While this slowly picks away at Forest’s life, shes more than happy to see the happiness on the faces of dragons who deserve it.
And heres Park:
Once a dragon who had lost himself in a dark, thick forest, Park ended up dying cold and alone. Once he’d become that of a ghost, a forest goddess happened upon him, her name was Forest.
With a deep love for the curious ghost, she gave part of her power to him and mentored him on how to be one with the forest and take care of it. This in turn lead to Park growing a deep love for this dragon and soon enough the two of them ended up having many hatchlings together.
Its seems however, one hatchling decided to stay with his parents among the forest, being named Bonsai after his tree like looks and helping his parents look after the mythical and sacred area. One day Forest and Park hope to pass on their full knowledge and power to their son, so they themselves may go into a deep rest to recharge what little energy they have left.
Funny enough these dragons were named after the bots in the DEH Discord forever ago, but I figured with their looks they deserved some nice work to em. A lot of my fandragons (Fandom based dragons) also have lore that keep them in character but still fit the aesthetic of FR (Like Phoenix and Miles’ stoires. They had to be changed up a bit bc uh,,,,dragons,,,,don’t need lawyers???) but Park and Forest have some of my favorite little lore stories to em.

So doing art again of my FR dragons. Please help. First the ones with written lore, then write more lore, then do up those ones.
Anyways, some lore tidbits of this one, since I like giving fandragons a twist to help fit in with Flight Rising lore, so that complicates things a bit. Oh, and warning before you read either this one’s dragon bio on site, where the field study, poem, and phrase are, and the lore tidbits here, I’d like to warn you of this dragon and his personality.This Skydancer is based on HABIT of Everyman HYBRID fame. HABIT, in his source material, is an absolutely vile demon who did many acts of evil, as he is the incarnation of humanity’s vices. As a result, I have decided that the dragon I have of him is a vile thing as well, delighting the torture of his victims, and yes, cannabilism. Let’s just say, that egg in the picture has a grisly fate ahead of it.
-I left the lore up to interpretation on site as to whether the main Nocturne of the story of my clan is telling the truth about how HABIT came about. Firebrand is right about one thing, I will confirm. HABIT lost his kindness upon eating an egg in desparation to survive the Scarred Wasteland. Anything else, asking would be advised.
-HABIT hates the diet of normal Skydancers. He loves meat. Dragon meat, preferably.
-HABIT’s den is filled with weapons. Enough to arm a whole clan and then some. Just take some weapons. Please.
-HABIT’s relations to the other dragons is more on the rocky side. Most are repulsed by what he does, despite it being what he was created to do. Firebrand is more of an uneasy allience, true to source material, though in this case, the Nocturne was freed from being one of the Shadowbinder’s minions. Then any other dragons who participate in practices HABIT does as well, HABIT welcomes with a little anger that they dare interfer with what he does best. The other villians of the clan’s story, however, he absolutly despises. They get in his way all the time, according to him.

First impressions: I’m loving the vibes of your shadow lair. I love that your lair has a music theme, and that it’s from Stardew Valley too! I will definitely be listening to it has I write this review!
Asmodian: Handsome, beautiful, outstanding, amazing boy. I love how purple he is. I love how regal he looks. I love that his theme is Nobody Is Around to Help. I also love that he helps lost spirits cross into the afterlife. I’m a sucker for dragons with death related lore. The fairies are perfect for him, I always forget they exist in the game, but I’m glad Asmodian has them.
Fenrir: Oho that’s a handsome dragon! For a moment I had to think about how you made his eyes look like black holes into the abyss, because damn does it look cool. I see that you used the sanddune rages and layered a wrap on top, obscuring the skull but keeping the cool eye effect! Very well done! His lore though, very cool and nicely written. Such a shame he’s fallen out of grace though. I plan to review Obsidian too so I can’t wait to read her lore!
Midnight: Very pretty! I find their eyes quite striking, The blue from their accent combined with their red eyes looks really cool! I also like how nicely the accent blends with the treeshroud. Their stained also gives them a unique look, which is why they caught my eye!
Marchosias: Fancy lad! I didn’t know how pretty mulberry flaunt and flair was! The range of colors on this guy is a visual treat. And the way you matched their apparel from different set is so smart and creative! I love the use of the grape vines, it’s not the first apparel I’d think of for a guard but it works so well for this dragon! And I like how the one bunch of grapes is layered over the helmet. The bewitching bangles are also nicely layered. The horns 100% look like they’re a part of the helmet that for a moment I was wondering if I missed an apparel update.
Hawk: Baby spotted! This is such a cutie. A mean, coatl babies are always cuties, but I love their colors and genes a lot! He truly is the color of the night sky! And his bio contains such a cute story! it was a read that left me with a smile :)
Oleander: Another excellent dragon! Midnight toxin my beloved. He looks like a fierce some, sneaky guy. I love the wreath on top of his hood and the shadowstrike! He may be a traitorous snake, but he’s a handsome one. And again I see Obsidian’s name pop up! I think i may save her for last.
Glaciate: Abyss shell is always a win for me. It’s just so good. I love how you’ve incorporated his branches into his lore by making him a florist. Very sweet of him! His accent is also very cute! I love all the birds on him. And the one is even sitting on his branches! That’s adorable.
Montero: Hellooo cowboy! A dark, handsome cowboy? I love him already. His outfit is on point. Love a goth boy and a cowboy. Perfection. Oooo wait Montero. A cowboy. Old town road. I get the reference now :,) I love him (I see he’s not supposed to be a fandragon, i just think the reference to the song is neat). I absolutely love that he herds ophiotauruses. That’s so creative and fun!
Mirai: “ meet me in the pit 9:30, be there or be square”. Ok you’re on Mirai. You’ll probably kick my ass though. Is she one of your progens? And are your planning on keeping her basic? Because I’m in the camp that sometimes basic is good! And honestly I like that she’s all basic! You’ve got her dressed up enough so that she doesn’t look naked and the apparel blends so well with her primary and secondary. She’s very pretty as she is!
Obsidian: Ok finally onto Obsidian who I keep seeing referenced in your lair. Time to see what she’s all about. But first her looks: Her style in on point. Her checker patterned skin is very cool, and so is everything else about her (pun intended). Oh so she’s as icy as the inside as she is on the outside. I love that. I love an ice queen. And she killed her own mate? Hardcore. I respect it. I respect her. A very nice read, and some interesting lore. I’m glad I could wrap this review up with her.

Please allow me a moment to whine and rant and cuss about a thing that doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. Hit J if that’s not your thing.
So I am enjoying Lioden for what it is, and Wolvden has some nonsense to work out but it’s still just barely out of beta testing so I’m being forgiving, but...
Oh...
Oooohhhhhh, I miss Flight Rising. I miiiiiiss Flight Risiiiiiing!
Why have we still not had any budging from admins on the godawful natural eye system...? Who is it helping to keep it as is? Really? Who is it helping?
It sure as fuck isn’t helping the majority of the playerbase, that’s for sure. I know one of the original pieces of the ~*~*~grand vision*~*~*~ was helping players randomly get a cool boon, but, uh. That hasn’t worked. Getting Primal eyes on a fodder dragon does not save them from being fodder. There’s even some anecdotal evidence that the playerbase being pushed to breed pretty/matchy dragons by the possibility of getting a good Primal is hurting the breeding economy. By the time I got fed up and quit, it was getting harder and harder to find weird-coloured dragons for my hyperspecialized oddball breeding projects, and monitoring a particular Suggestions thread suggests other players are seeing the same thing.
I just wanna get an Aku fandragon with GREAT FLAMING EYEBROWS and not have to breed seventy fucking adequately-unrelated identical dragons to do it most efficiently. There are other dream dragons I want that sound like a horrific slogs to get because of the natural eye system, but a project involving breeding an Imperial with a particular natural eye type, especially one of the ultra-rare ones, is especially asinine to go for as things stand.
And I like long-lasting weird breeding projects. It took me a year of careful breeding to get one particular dragon in then-unique site colours, and an Imperial at that! Sure it was a little frustrating each round I didn’t get him, but in an engaging way! Each time I got closer and closer until I Did It!
There’s no way to get closer and closer with the natural eye system. It’s a horribly skewed-against-the-player roll of the dice every. Single. Time. And there’s no way the player can affect the rolls. You just have to roll a lot and even then, you might never get what you want. Or you might get what you want on an intermediate dragon and fuck that sounds incredibly frustrating and demoralizing.
Who is this helping? How does this make Flight Rising a better game?
Like, even the highly random mutation system on Lioden gives you some ways to work for them. It’s known that particular kinds of lions fed particular food items have a higher chance of throwing mutations, so even if it’s still a roll of the dice, you have ways of tipping probability a little more in your favour.
Mrgh, at this point even if they do see sense and come up with a way to actually work for natural eyes instead of playing a horseshit gambling game that the players have no control over besides breeding a shit-ton of identical dragons and praying, my internal reaction is likely to be “Fucking hell, finally! It took you stubborn jackasses long enough!”
Which is mean! But it’s how I feel!
And like, that sentiment would immediately be followed by picking up the game again, because I miss it, I really do. I’m encouraged by the pose change scrolls, very much so, since it was a thing the userbase wanted for a long time that we thought we’d never get, but the dev team pulled through and came up with a way it would work. I even gave a couple of my babies the pose change scroll.
But the garbage eye system is still keeping me off the site besides occasionally logging in for Galore and periodically checking on the 100+ page topic about alternative methods for natural eyes. Which stinks. It stinks! I love pretty much everything else about Flight Rising as a game!
I love immortal pets!
I love a pet site that lets me go inactive for months or years because of other obligations!
I love writing lore for my ridiculous clan!
I love dragons!
I love customizing dragons!
I WANT TO CUSTOMIZE MY DRAGONS ON THE DRAGON CUSTOMIZATION GAME!

I just need to wrap up Isaiah’s mini-arc (one more post), and then I’m going to move on to a bit of development for Eileen, who is a very interesting little dragon. I won’t spoil anything here, but let’s just say Mergo is involved.
After that, we’ll be sliding on into some interactions between Emil and Penumbra, with a side of Devola and Penumbra’s erstwhile captor, the Shadowling. This’ll delve into some of my Shade headcanons as well.
Then we’re going to explore Oya and Ogun. I teased at their involvement with Fire’s BotE lore, and I’m going to expand upon that through Oya’s (previous) relationship with Calcifer. (Branwen is not going to be pleased when company arrives unannounced and uninvited.)
THEN it’ll finally be time for Aurelius and Halcyon’s wedding, and I may get around to the Big Confrontation between Dreamweaver and Aeternus, who some of you may remember as Aurelius’ disapproving father. That’s going to be fun to write, I do so love when Dreamweaver loses their temper.
After that, I’m hoping I’ll have enough of my Clan Blackthorn dragons assembled to start the exodus arc. I still need to grab all my SOMA fandragons too, but I’m not going to get into their lore until @nostlenne returns from the war, so Blackthorn comes first.
Aurelius and Halcyon’s wedding takes place during Brightshine Jubilee 2020, so that and everything before it will cover at least half of last year’s backlog. I anticipate that Clan Blackthorn’s predicament will easily cover the latter half of 2020. Then we’ll be (mostly) caught up.
Clan Imperator and the Warren are still chilling in the background, and the former might make a couple more appearances throughout the 2020 backlog. The Warren is out of commission for the time being; Eyja is doing some serious scheming, and I don’t want to interrupt her. Pros: we’ll get more Caesar lore. Cons: I’m going to hurt my boy.
Anyway, that’s what anyone who still reads my lore can expect in the foreseeable future. I still love FR, my dragons, and my lore, but writer’s block is one hell of a drug, so I’m infinitely grateful for y’all’s patience. :’)

With respect to Flight Rising’s seventh anniversary:
Ehhh.
Like, the update is cute despite some flaws; overall I like dragon backgrounds and naming familiars. Could do without the big honking “Level 18 Female Imperial (Light)” tagline (Really hope we go back to the Mars/Venus symbols - Dormin is bigender, thank you, just for example), but that’s a potentially easy fix, as are some of the other quirks of the new layout.
But I am still sore about the Eyepocolypse and have pretty much stopped playing over that and the near radio silence for two years running now. I have half an eye on the site’s social media and log in for Galore and to occasionally poke around new features, but frankly the continued terrible handling of the eyes system has pushed me away.
Which stinks, because I love pet games, I love dragons, and Flight Rising is otherwise very relevant to my interests overall. I love breeding fandragons and writing lore and cheering on other people’s dragons.
But I can’t abide by a mechanic that, at its worst, pushes players into scenarios where the most efficient way to maybe possibly someday get a particular dragon they want is to breed up 35 pairs of identical-coloured dragons and breed them nonstop until one of them throws a dragon that has a less than 1% chance of appearing. This is what you’d need to do if you were interested in an Imperial Primal or Multigaze. And don’t even ask about older dragons.
There’s adding mechanics that favour newer dragons while still letting old dragons work towards them, and then there’s arbitrarily locking millions of dragons out of it. There’s a zing that random chance adds, and then there’s a mechanic with such abysmal odds that not engaging with it at all is probably wiser.
There’s grinding, and then there’s unreasonable horseshit.

Some silly lore ideas that I’ll probably never get around to writing
Demon Lord ends up being a total sweetie and definitely doesn’t bake cookies for his grandma on the weekends.
Said Demon Lord can be summoned by baking cookies with some unfortunate soul’s blood in them. He’ll then criticize you on kitchen safety and smack you with an oven mitt until you say you’ll do better, then gives you hugs and cuddles until you feel better and says sorry for hitting you with an oven mitt.
The cursed love between a fandragon and a lore dragon. Same world, yet different ones all the same.
What a breeding pair thinks of how many kids they’ve had and how bad gift giving holidays must be.
Dragons playing DnD.
A witch of the seasons. Someone who’s form changes depending on said season. May actually make an outfit for this one.
The deities gathering together in mortal forms to discuss matters. Tidedad comes with a sunburn and a pina colada.
A romance between two dragons who are both too loyal to their deities to move from their birthplaces and thus spend months, if not years, without seeing each other.
“I thought you were dead.” “I...think I was. For a moment there...”
Baby emperors.
Finishing up my headcanons about the gaolers before they actually come lol.

OKAY SO LAIR TABS
So far I’ve got three tabs in my lair and one Hibernal Den tab.
My lair ones are Square Toe: my desert town that I love. There’s 89 dragons in there (wow!), but I don’t think they’re all staying. There’s two hatchlings I’m gonna sell, two g1s I’m also probably gonna sell, several that I’m keeping but can’t decide where they go, etc. Might buy a fourth tab for Misc but that’s a decision for later so whatever.
Next is Salt Fork/Pumpkin Center: this is two towns is one tab bc they’re close to each other! A lot of the inhabitants live in Salt Fork but work in Pumpkin Center and I’m gonna write up a long lore thingy about them at some point once everything gets more settled. This also includes dragons living in the surrounding area because why not? I might move Tammy over here bc it seems more her speed, even though I thought of her originally in that HILARIOUS desert comic that I never actually drew or posted.
The third one is Travelers and SSMC which is another big post I have to write up because SSMC is one of my favorite ideas. But this comes with even more issues because Lemon’s an SSMC member but she lives in Square Toe. Same with Petticoat, even though she less "lives there" and more "was assigned to the place”. Which means there’s only two SSMC members in the tab partially named after them and the rest is a circus and London and freaking Homer, who I’m really gonna have to figure out something to do with him because I was putting it off for lair tabs but now they’re here.
And then my Den tab is Gods, Ghosts, and Spirits bc I figure it makes sense since they wouldn’t need to eat or anything, but guess what? I’ve got two blatant fandragons hanging out for no reason, and being separate works out great for like, Attis and Carol and Hampatime, but what about Elisabuff? Davy? Ripper? Irving? And so on? They’re “Gods, Ghosts, and Spirits” to a T but they’re still in the Square Toe tab because they’re too connected to it. I know it doesn’t really make a different but how’s Mike gonna keep his cryptid bf when he’s on a whole ‘nother page? Huh? Huh?
Anyway, love love love this update, I’m gonna spend so much time arranging and rearranging everything, also I have some space now so I made a thread wanting to buy alllllllll the dragons I was waiting on lair tabs for (some of them to fill up that Salt Fork tab!) so I’ll put a link to that in the reblog.

Tell me about your favorite dragons and why! Which dragon is the most cryptid like? The smartest? The most likely to start a fight - and most likely to win one? The best storyteller? Go ham!
Oh honey you just opened Pandora’s box. Ok let’s start off with my dragonsona Saga. When I found her on the auction I fell in love with her colors. Also since I’m the one writing lore for my dragons I decided her role would be that of a loremaster. I also have a headcannon that the skittering chitin breastplate is actually a bunch of crystals growing out of her.
Up next is Thea. I love her colors cause they remind me of dragon fruit. Also tundra dragons are friend shaped.
Up next is my mascot dragon Selene. This night knight is also one of my most expensive overhauls. This girl was 20kt on the AH but after two gem genes, glowing eye vial, matching vista and familiar, and a ton of gem apparel. She was finished.
Next is my favorite fandragon Starscream. He’s based off of TFP Starscream and I’m gonna be real here. Starscream is one of my favorite characters from the show and also my favorite bastard.
Aurora is my first gen one that I used gem genes on. I mainly bought her because she reminded me of a glow in the dark t-Rex skeleton puzzle that I had when I was a kid. Also I some help from a friend because for almost two years I had no idea on how to dress her.
Does anyone remember when I went by the username of QueenOmega? Cause Omega was my mascot dragon for the first year or two on flight rising for me. I just love this gladiator mom.
Temperance is a good nature bean. I’m actually really picky with snappers. So when I decide to keep one I tend to go all out on them.
Ambrosia is my other snapper. She’s also a really good bean. Ambrosia runs her family tea shop called the Humble Bumble.
Ebisu is my plague rep. He has survived in the arena for countless years and was Omega’s teacher. He ended up retiring due to old age. But even in retirement he still gives out pointers to new and old gladiators. Also he a great babysitter when watching Omega’s and Alric’s three girls.
Ellianna is a death knight that I play as from World of Warcraft. In life Ellianna was a mercenary. Her job range from tracking other dragons down to outright killing them. Her last job on Sornieth was actually from her adopted parents. They wanted to know where her sister Vallone was. Ellianna was able to find her sister on the Starfall isles. She also found out that her sister was working on a portal project. And well... when the project was nearly completed the portal became unstable. Ellianna protected her sister from the portal’s blast and well... she died. Though in death she was given a second chance. It’s up to debate on if her body was transformed into a draenei or if her soul was just put in a some unfortunate draenai’s body. But one things for sure, Ellianna is deadly on the battlefield. Over the years Ellianna adjusted to Azeroth and its craziness. She ended up joining a guild called Sornieth Rising. A guild who a majority of its members are dragons that are also from Sornieth. But the most recent event that has happened in her undead life is the arrival of her adopted daughter, Laani. Ellianna is somewhat terrified of raising her daughter for she fears that she may be a terrible mom. But spoiler, she ends up doing a pretty good job in the end. ( She got a ton of help and support) When Laani grows up she becomes a shaman but she also has the brutal fighting skills of a death knight. Also Ellianna is not to afraid to kill if someone dares to try to harm her daughter.

The weekend is here, so in between my busy, busy social schedule of writing papers and visiting the library I’m gonna be working on the Happenings in my clan whateverthefuck they are someone wanna fill me in pls Rowan’s screaming is not communicative and Moira actively hates me EVEN MORE than Hesti so she’s not talking she’s just LAUGHING at me

In preparation, I’ve just... made a list of everybody. And looked at whether they’re likely to die. I’m gonna go ahead and post it here-- with character summaries-- because: I WANT PPL TO TALK TO ME ABOUT THE DRAGONS.

This is so you can see if there’s dragons you’d like to do a lore interaction with-- see if they’d be friends, enemies, weirdly antagonistic buddies, romantic partners, science bros, whatever-- with your dragon. Orrrr you can ALSO help by asking questions about them :D (even “why is that dragon gonna die/survive” will help me process)

Dragons in italic text have a chance of dying. Their relationship networks and/or characters are underdeveloped, or the lore is pushing them that way, but I’d rather they didn’t die. Would especially love lore interaction for these.

Since Nature is currently fighting Earth for dom (it’s been a lot of fun even though I’ve had a busy week this week! but I’m ALL DONE my masters degree so I can finally participate more!), it was time for another purge. I always try to purge during big dom battles lol. So I cleaned up my lair a bit and exalted 9 permas, and 2 almost-permas who I never ended up writing bios for. In no real order, here they are...

Neopolitan
Tucker and Moroi were both born in my Clan back in 2015, so it’s kind of sad to have them leave. Their mates are DarkWater and Iele, although I’ll miss Iele more - her and Moroi were both named for Romanian folklore and I had fun figuring them out together. ^^;
Aldine and Char were both born with the colourwheel expansion, and were based on two of my OCs from a novel I have that’s sorely under-edited.
Neo was one of my very few fandragons, for Neopolitan from RWBY. She and Pomarius made some lovely-looking babies.
Helios was my Clan’s librarian and the mate of my Light rep. They also made lovely babies together. I kept Hecate, because she’s my rep, but it was time for Helios to go.
I’ll share everyone’s lore bios soon, and share what ends up happening to them (not all of these dragons die in my lore - for once, lol.)
