- you are a little intimidated by dwalin at first just as any sane person would be, i mean look at him

- you promise yourself that you will not only make him smile, but you will make him laugh

- you don’t know why, but you are instantly drawn to him

- he is an enigma and you need to know more about him

- one day the company comes across a stray wolf (not a warg) on the trail

- you beg them to keep him for the night

- you give him your fill of supper and give him water from your water skin

- you brush his fur out

- you talk to him in a baby voice, calling him sweet names, squishing his face up and letting him lick you

- you smother him with kisses and love

- dwalin is touched by your kindness and generosity

- this is when you are able to make him smile for the first time

- you make him laugh with your bawdy tales and your dad jokes

- you are able to break down his barriers

- turns out he is a huge softie inside

- he loves hugs just as much as you!!

- and getting hugged by dwalin,, oh god it’s amazing

- first of all he is huge, like his forearms are as big around as your thighs

- so when he hugs you it’s like a literal bear hug

- it is all encompassing and warm

- it feels like home in dwalin’s arms

- when people see you two together it can be a bit confusing

- ‘how is that huge bear with the permanent scowl friends with the tiny little girl with the huge smile??’

- during one particularly dangerous fight against some wargs, you save dwalin’s life with no hesitation

- after the fight is over, dwalin comes up to you, grabs your shoulders and looks into your eyes

- he slams his head into yours (just as he would with his kin) to show his appreciation and love for you

- unfortunately, he didn’t take into account that humans are not nearly as sturdy as dwarves

- long story short, you were knocked out

- dwalin felt awful

- you woke up to his worried face hovering above you

- you were laying down in his lap as he blotted your forehead with a wet handkerchief (courtesy of bilbo)

- he apologized profusely, but you just laughed it off

- from then on, dwalin is incredibly gentle with you

- if he wants to bang foreheads with you, he just very gently presses his forehead against yours

- you two spend 96% of your time cuddling

- he braids your hair and you braid his beard

- he loves to talk to you in khuzdul

- he is actually super romantic

- dwalin loves to be your protector, in every sense of the word

- you make each other better

- you help dwalin learn how to understand his feelings, talk about them, productively express them

- dwalin helps you socialize and gain confidence

- he makes sure you are assertive and ask for what you need

- your relationship is the definition of a healthy relationship

- you two rarely fight

- dwalin loves to make you blush, he thinks it is absolutely adorable
