Me watching Top Gun, two minutes in and already over Maverick’s shit: That is IT! Young Protagonists are OUT! From now on I will only be rooting for them if they are at LEAST 35.
#maybe I’m aging out of them#maybe I’ll return to my love for baby heroes#but right now it is Seasoned Professionals Only#or Seasoned Not-Professionals#I can watch a coming of age with middle aged protags I’m not (that) picky#but fr fr#it’s time for#Kiki does movie reviews in the tags#it was… a decent movie#I can appreciate Tom Cruise’s acting#Goose (+ co) and Ice were great characters#I had no idea it was a high school au#Did not realize top gun was the name of the school before reading it in big letters and that is on me#it had solid character development#Which I appreciated#I did NOT get why the whole movie was set at dusk#Like legit the WHOLE MOVIE had two times#And that was late-for-class hour#And DUSK#v funny imo#Charlie as a character I think was great#But not a fan of her and maverick together tbh#Overall a decent movie with fun characters and a solid 80’s movie#now if you’ll excuse me I need to read/write fanfics of maverick and ethan being related#top gun#peter maverick mitchell#just yelling into the void#oh and as far as older protags are concerned:#john wick#tbh I was tempted to put 50 for the age
