1) good morning I'm feeling unwell today and seeing your comments on my posts made me smile so big 💖💕
2) there is nothing in the canon about Tamaran (like the stuff I said about Tamaran) and its gods, but I love making up lore and I figured of they're from a different PLANET rather than being fatphobic, they're gonna be fat positive. Cause I said so
3) GAR'S AUTISTIC TRAITS. I COULD RANT FOR HOURS
To me, it's encapsulated by the scene: "when Conner wakes up, call Bruce" "Bruce... Wayne?" "No, Bruce Springsteen." "...what?"
1) Gar needs specific instructions about what to do for Conner beyond just "take care of him"
2) the only Bruce that Dick knows is Bruce Wayne, but Gar has the need to CLARIFY that Dick means "Bruce Wayne"
3) when Dick replies with "Bruce Springsteen", he is being sarcastic, and Gar doesn't pick up on that sarcasm AT ALL
People in the audience might think that this implies that Gar doesn't know who Bruce Springsteen even IS, but NO, king of all things vintage definitely knows this name. He is just confused because he doesn't. Know. That Dick. Is JOKING
There is definitely a moment there where Gar absolutely thinks that Dick knows a man named Bruce Springsteen who will help them out in this situation
I love Gar so much 💖💕
Hii !! Im sad to hear you’re not doing so well and I’m glad my comment helped a little 😙💖
Tamaran should ABSOLUTELY have a fat positive culture. I mean it is kinda crazy to me, that an alien planet that hasn’t had any big interactions with earth would have the same type of prejudice we do (they’ll probably have issues of their own but eXACTLY THE SAME AS ON EARTH ??? That sounds like lazy world building at the least
Gar is autistic = Canon
I truly don’t know what my brain did cause I actually did pick on those traits — the Bruce Springsteen scene is so clear he was asking for further clarification and Dicks answer confused him cause he took him seriously — I just didn’t connect the fucking dots KSKSKS (“I’ve connected them” “you didn’t connect shit” ya know)

dreamwidth update: GYWO 2022 and How I Fucked Up
no, this is not the post about job search depression. not yet.
I participate in Get Your Words Out every year as something that motivates me to make words, much like NaNoWriMo -- it isn't necessarily about "winning" either, but it's about having a reason to track words, which then becomes having a reason to write. In 2020 or 2021, I forget which, I managed to write somewhere near 350,000 words. What a fuckin' banger. A lot of it was Old Vines, and some of it was work words, and all of it was fun as hell.
The thing I noticed at the end of the year, however, was that my writing was just inconsistent -- I was carrying myself towards that goal with days where I wrote 5000, 7000 words in one day, and then not writing for the next 4 days in a row. So if I could get my ASS to the COMPUTER to do the THING, i usually could get a significant number of words done. So let's focus on that, sez my brain, and we'll be a super-writer.
2022 Sev said well, hey, there's a habit pledge for GYWO, so: I took it, with the rather extreme idea of writing 240 days out of the year. that's like 4-5 days a week. But hey! It isn't wordcount! Although I still fucking decided I was going to try to write 300,000 words. just 300K. Not 350K. lol. I'm stupid.
Then at the beginning of 2022 I lost my content writing job - more like, they hired someone full-time and let all the contractors go without warning, yes, I'm still mad - and therefore lost one of the major impetus for me actually sitting down at the computer to write. Plus, I'd been counting work words as part of the yearly target -- which I think is fuckin fair when you write for a living, yeah?, so.
And then as I realized other work had also dried up and I was going to have to start major job hunting - and then the experience of that job hunting - there was a depression zone where I absolutely dried up on words. Like, nearly completely. Most of my WIPs just kind of hung in space, and I had to start an entirely new Good Omens fic (forth the fifth) to have anything going on, and THEN it was only a super-hyperfixation on Detroit: Become Human that really pulled me out of the wordslump and back into writing things. Getting back to the WIPs has been challenging.
And with my new job, there aren't wordcounts I can tally towards anything -- I'm writing and editing at the same time, and sometimes working on things like how the fuck do we cite this and a surprising amount of meetings, and the moral of this story is that I'm unlikely to make either my formal or informal GYWO target this year -- which again, I don't do it for the win, but boy howdy did I misjudge this year.
And what have I learnt about my writing process this year? Since that was the entire point of trying a new target and a new approach? Well, fuck, I'm not sure I've learnt anything, except that it's more fun to write when people are directly cheering you on, which isn't anything new. As of today I've written about 150K, and 135 days out of the year. I am 69 days behind where I should be and there are like. Idk. 70 days left in the year? So obviously I'm not gonna make it lol.
Anyway this has been a long ramble about things that are only important in my head, with no real conclusion. Clearly I am a professional! And I need to get back to actual work!
Stay tuned for NaNoWriMo, where I try to get my 3 FTH fics out in a month while still updating at least 3 WIPs! oh my god, why am i like this? I'm so stupid?
Talk to me about your 2022 writing (or creating in general, if you're a creator but not a writer!). How did you do. How dumb am I. It is a mystery!

Full list of Tier adjustments + other general content changes for October on my Patreon
Posted on my Patreon as well!
So I know I've been talking about some changes I'll be making to the Tiers all month, but here's a final big comprehensive post about the final changes, and the exact wording of the new Tiers starting tomorrow. There are a few big changes, and a few minor ones. Many of the changes are made around my concern that I've been burning myself out with $1 content without providing enough to higher Tiers, along with the realization that as important as they are and how necessary the $1 Tier of pledges is, I unfortunately cannot sustain myself on them alone.
I hope all of the following changes sound fair. Quick list of big changes:
- NSFW Comics will be moved from $1 -> $5 Tier. NSFW illustrations will remain on the $1 Tier. I still plan to maintain my goal of one NSFW post every week, and comics and illustrations will likely switch off every other week. On weeks that have consecutive comics, I'll take one of the NSFW frames from the comic and put it on the $1 Tier without context, so $1 Tier folks WILL get at least one NSFW illustration every other week.
- Weekly Inferno pages for the $20 Tier. This is to hopefully push myself to work more actively on Inferno, even if it's bit by bit. The goal is at least one page a week, though once I get rolling it'll likely come more frequently. The images will be low resolution and watermarked like public posts, and will be available to all Tiers and publicly once the full chapters are done. High-Res versions will eventually be available for download to the $20 Tier.
- Story spoiler Headcanon posts for the $20 Tier. These will be only text form, but rambling headcanons about story elements in my AUs that I likely won't be able to get to in comic form for a while. My immediate plans are to dump some Future!Verse stuff in the Rewind Future era (post canon timeline, pre-getting together), so like the rest of the Yurio Presenting arc (since i dunno when I can finish that), Yuuri and Phichit's past in Detroit, etc. all the way to how they got to deciding they'll have a poly relationship, and possibly going into HCs about their various engagements/weddings. All of this stuff has been long planned out since before I started posting about this AU publicly and I had been hoping to draw it out in comic form, but until then...Here. NOTE: that these will not be concrete ideas, and I may still change them considerably before cementing them in AU canon through comics.
The rest beneath cut!
- Hypothetical store access. So I'm still kinda eh about adding this in the Tiers because I have yet to actually open a store, but the itch to create merch has been getting stronger. As a new merch seller though, I at first need to ensure the quality and production process of any merch I make, so any first rounds of merch will be extremely limited quantity (I'm talking single digits). If I deem the merch to be sellable professional quality, I'm offering it to you guys first. I'll make it available to $20 patrons first, and if it doesn't sell out within a few days (I'll set a time limit) I'll open to $5 patrons, then $1 patrons. Any larger pre-orders I do thereafter will likely also have a set limit because I doubt my ability to manage large orders, and patrons will always have access to those before the public as well.
- Tutorials/concept art - Were originally big things in the $5/$20 Tiers, but I've found that I haven't been able to produce much in these categories. If and when I do produce them, they'll likely be available in the $5 Tier, UNLESS they have major long term story spoilers, in which case $20.
- Advance access to major comics for $20 deleted - I just don't have enough of these to really feel it's relevant as a Tier reward, and with Inferno pages going up as I draw them, it seemed redundant so I took it out ^ ^;
AGAIN, if you would like to downgrade/delete your pledge due to these changes or for any other reason, please wait until your current pledge has been processed on October 1st.

WIP - Snowballs and Sheer Luck (Lin-Manuel x Reader)
Summary: You got hit with a snowball out of the blue and universal law states that you must return fire
Word Count: 1,420
Warnings: Language.
A/N: I wrote this ages ago (during that one snowstorm, this was actually the original snowfic I wrote) and then abandoned it. But here’s an abandoned fic for everyone who was so kind and so understanding about me being MIA. _____________________________
“Fuck you, man! I have to meet with Sherry and Greg still. Some of us have to be responsible adults!” Tommy laughed at Lin who had insisted on tagging along as Tommy walked to this meeting. He also insisted on detouring through the park to appreciate the large patches of untouched snow and Tommy was always one to oblige his more romantic-minded friend.
It was always a given to budget more time than usual when Lin tagged along on commutes, but the snow made it ten times worse. Lin had decided that his source of entertainment during their journey was to launch snowballs at Tommy, making himself burst into a fit of laughter every time one met his target. When Tommy had agreed to let Lin join him on his trek through the snowy city he had also accepted the possibility that he would not reach the meeting with his clothes as dry as when he left for it. But that did not mean that he appreciated Lin’s attack.
“You’re gonna be late anyways, might as well let me have my fun” Lin’s laughter rang through the park before he bent down to pack another snowball - this one larger than all the others.
“Oh hell no.” Tommy jogged down the path, mindful of snowdrifts as he attempted to get a far enough distance away that he could count on Lin’s terrible accuracy to keep him safe.
Lin still launched the snowball towards him, forcing Tommy to spin quickly in hopes that it’d hit him on his back instead of his neck like the last snowball.
“Oh!” Tommy heard a surprised cry after the sound of the snow colliding with something. Tommy whirled around to see a girl pulling out her headphones with a look of shock and a blushing Lin looking to Tommy for any sort of help.
“Bye Lin!” Tommy cackled, considering it payback for his sopping clothes as he quickly fled the scene.
Lin’s shoes became the most interesting thing in the world as his brain scrambled to find enough words to string together to form an apology. “Hey, I am so sor-”
He was interrupted by a snowball nailing him right in the shoulder and a chiming laugh. His eyes darted up to take in your laughing form. Your headphones were safely tucked away and you were bent over at the knees as you attempted to control the laughter that was falling from your lips.
“I deserved that,” Lin couldn’t fight the smile that spread across his face.
“Yeah you did!” you agreed, the amusement seeped into your voice and it made Lin’s heart flutter. You straightened, wiping the few tears from your eyes.
“I don’t have the best aim and my friend-”
“What friend?” you interrupted again as you placed your hands on your hips, cocking an eyebrow.
“He was standing behind you, he walked down Roosevelt. He’s got a meeting at-” Lin gestured towards the direction Tommy disappeared in, but he was interrupted once more as you took advantage of the distraction to pack and launch another snowball at him. “Hey!”
“Hi!” you giggled and Lin marveled at how the snow around you didn’t melt from the warmth that you exuded.
“I gave you one for free, it evened the score, but that one was just uncalled for.” Lin exclaimed and you offered him a shrug in response. He stooped down to pack a snowball and you let out a yelp in concern as you began to retreat. He launched one at you, clipping your arm and drawing another laugh from your lips.
“You have terrible aim.” you teased lightheartedly and his hand moved up to his chest as he feigned offence.
“I hit you the first time didn’t I?” he defended.
“That was sheer luck.” you retorted.
“That almost sounds like a challenge.” Lin scoffed and you gave a nonchalant shrug.
“And if it is?”
“I’d say you’re on.” he retorted and with that you two were darting away from each other. You both frantically attempted to pack snow into a solid enough form to throw it towards each other. The pristine patches of snow that had brought Lin outside in the first place began to fill with your footprints and loose snow that would collide with either one of your bodies and fall to the ground.
The rest of the park seemed to awaken at the sound of your shared laughter, drawing more and more people towards you to see what was eliciting such unadulterated joy. People chuckled to themselves as they watched you and Lin frolic, ducking behind snowdrifts in attempts to find cover.
“Come out of there! It’s not fair!” Lin called as you peeked over the top of an exceptionally large drift. Snow hit the front and you squealed before ducking back down.
“I pledge myself to hold this barricade!” you called out, bending down to ball some snow.
“Did you just make a Les Mis reference?” Lin gasped and you bit back a laugh at the sound of his astonishment.
“Maybe?”
“Come out here. Truce! Truce! Anyone who makes Les Mis references during a snowball fight is no enemy of mine.” Lin declared and you peeked again to see him drop the snowball he was holding. You popped up, leaning over the top of the drift to look at him.
“Alright, friend. I don’t think I caught your name.” you propped your head on your hand as your elbow rested on the hard, compact snow.
“Lin. What’s yours, Enjolras?” Lin grinned.
“[Y/N].” you offered and his smile seemed to widen.
“[Y/N],” he repeated, as if to test the weight of it on his tongue. “I like it. It fits you.”
“Thanks, I’m pretty fond of it too.” you quipped, hoping the freezing weather and the physical exertion was enough of an excuse for the blush that was undoubtedly spreading across your face.
“Can I buy you a coffee?” Lin asked and you must’ve looked as surprised as you felt because he laughed. “I mean, if you aren’t needing to be anywhere right now.”
“The impromptu snowball fight with a stranger wasn’t enough of a clue at the availability my schedule holds for the rest of the day?” you joked, trying to ignore the pride you felt when you inspired yet another bright smile from him
“I wasn’t going to assume, Enjolras.” he said teasingly and the snowball you were hiding found its way towards him. He ducked best he could, the snow skimming the top of his shoulder. “That was just mean! We called a truce!”
“I couldn’t let a perfectly good snowball go to waste!” you defended.
“That’s it, you’re buying.” Lin proclaimed and you laughed.
“Alright, Marius. Come take your place with me.” you finally emerged from behind the drift.
“Charming me with more Les Mis references does not excuse the betrayal of our treaty.” Lin informed you, the way his eyes gleamed said otherwise.
“What about all the other ways I’m charming you?” you jested.
“Is it that obvious?” Lin flirted easily and you once again had to ignore a blush that was gracing your cheeks, one that Lin didn’t miss.
Lin was watching you talk but he couldn’t focus on a word you were saying. He probably would’ve felt guilty if he wasn’t completely consumed by the spark in your eyes and the curve of your lips. He was spinning his coffee cup in circles with his fingers on the table as his mind tried to come up with the right way to ask to see you again without seeming crazy.
You let the conversation trail off, comfortable in the silence. Lin seemed otherwise preoccupied and after everything that he had mentioned about his work you weren’t all that surprised. Your brief brush with writing made you respect the fact that inspiration respects no setting and will strike whenever it pleases.
“Can I take you to dinner?” Lin finally broke the silence, surprising you with a question for the second time that day.
“What?” you asked dumbly, your mind reeling to catch up from the place where it had just been residing - a daydream in which you were watching Lin write.
“Can I take you out to dinner sometime? Or lunch if that’s too formal.” Lin repeated, his eyes trailed from his cup to your face, daring a glance.
“Dinner sounds nice.”
