I bought BG3 for Astarion and had no opinion of Gale at all but by Act 2 I was ready to sacrifice anyone including my own Tav to protect that wizard holy shit

I love that man

I think there is something funny about Gale "God of Ambition" being silver

Not gold. Not number one. Not the best.

But silver. Second place. Second best.

All that talk of finally becoming an immortal god and showing up Mystra. Only to be firmly shoved into being the embodiment of his failure to overcome her. A second rate silver god. God of foolish wanting.

Tagging with a spoiler tag just in case. Mentioning some dialogue changes after finishing major milestone in Gale quest in Act 3. Truthfuly I wasn't expecting the emotional whiplash I got from Gale when his opening dialogue changed from the 'Whatever you need consider it most enthusiastically done' to 'Yes, my love?' Fuck me, I came here for the sassy vampire but the sad wizard stole my heart... and shoes... But I can forgive him that. I will fight tooth and nail to ensure that he will return to Waterdeep safely so he can drink his wine, eat cheese and read books until morning. I love my magical pixel boyfriend.

Gale has proposed you, and you said yes. You return together to Waterdeep.

When he opens his tower's door, he merrily says "welcome to Gale Dekarios' tower !". Then, he slowly turns, his big brown wet eyes looking at you. "Welcome home". His voice is trembling with emotion. You drop all you had into your hands and jump into his embrace. He rests his forehead on your shoulder, tears watering your fabric. You are crying too, your chin on his shoulder. He gets back up, letting his hands on your arms. "These are tears of joy, I hope" he says, smiling, a tear still running on his cheek. You nod, returning the smile. "I am not crying" he continues, as Tara stares at him, "this is some kind of magic illusion, don't worry, I will investigate further". You both laugh. He pushes you on a seat. "Stay here, my love. I will run you a bath." Of course, flower petals are floating on the water, and there are lighted candles around. You ask for him to go with you, but he won't. "Enjoy, you can go down the dining room when you are ready". After a moment, you dry yourself and put on clothes. A delicious scent is floating all around. You are not surprised to see that your husband to be has made you dinner. "Waterdhavian stew" he says proudly. Tara is obviously here too, sitting on a seat with her own plate. Before going to your own seat, next to Gale, in front of the tressym, you go back to his arms. He whispers "I love you".

This was the first of many days together, at home.

I was a lil worried that it was gonna be rooted in the creepy "man thinks lesbians are hot" thing but viewing it from your perspective totally checks out. Gale would definitely be aware of the Divine Femininity and I love him for that tbh

Definitely not meant creepily omg but I see why you thought I meant that! No, I think he definitely sees a more inmate view of it, and also just more beauty and giving, less centered on him and his pleasure, cause I definitely think he knows what he wants, and would much rather explore others' interests and needs. Devine femininity is the EXACT word, thank you for being the smart one here 😂💕
