I love them both so much.
1. Regelinda - c. 989 - 21 March aft. 1014 - a member of the Polish Piast dynasty, was Margravine of Meissen from 1009 until her death by her marriage with Margrave Herman I.
She was the daughter of the Polish King Bolesław the Brave from his third marriage with Emnilda, daughter of Dobromir, a Slavic prince (according to some modern historians in Lusatia).
2. Uta von Ballenstedt c. 1000 — 23 October pre-1046 - a member of the House of Ascania, was Margravine of Meissen from 1038 until 1046, the wife of Margrave Eckard II.
Both of sculptures are in Naumburg Cathedral.

Adoption and professed title
Frédéric von Anhalt
In 1980, at the age of 36, Lichtenberg was adopted by Marie-Auguste of Anhalt(1898–1983), then in her 80s and whose first husband had been Joachim, son of former German Emperor Wilhelm II.[2] Upon adoption, Lichtenberg's name became "Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt" - "Prinz" (Prince) is part of the legal surname in Germany and not a princely title.[8] Despite having no claim to royal or aristocratic heritage, Prinz von Anhalt styles himself "Prince Frédéric of Anhalt, Duke of Saxony and Westphalia, Count of Ascania". Some reports state that Anhalt claims to have been a childhood friend of Marie Auguste's only biological child, Karl Franz (1916–1975), and that the grieving mother adopted him out of kindness, calling him "Prince" and "Duke of Saxony". However, British press reports indicate that Marie Auguste was almost bankrupt and the adoption was a business transaction, allegedly masterminded by Hans Hermann Weyer, a former window dresser who became the honorary consul of Bolivia in Luxembourg.[9] Weyer was known for selling certificates of nobility, doctoral degrees from fictitious universities, and other spurious decorations in Germany in the 1960s.[10][11] Lichtenberg was one of about 35 adults adopted by the ex-princess, some then styling themselves Princes of Anhalt.[12]
Regardless of the adoption by Marie-Auguste, a member of the deposed ducal family of Anhalt, the House of Ascania's website makes no mention of Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, as he is not blood-related.[13]
Can you see Harry selling his title down the road?  Quick cash…😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

House of Ascania & of Romanov: Princess Sophie of Anhalt-Zerbst aka Catherine the Great
Sophie Auguste Frederike, nicknamed Fike, was born on May 2nd, 1729, to Prince Christian August of Anhalt-Zerbst and his wife Joanna Elisabeth of Holstein-Gottorp. Sophie was the oldest child and only surviving daughter of her parents and grew up as a tomboy and received an education by a French governess as it was custom among the nobles of that time.
Her marriage to her second cousin Peter III aka Peter of Holstein-Gottrop was mostly made possible through her maternal descent of the House of Holstein-Gottrop, a wealthy and noble family. Two of her first cousins would later become Kings of Sweden.
Sophie was an intelligent women that loved to read about history and political theory. When she arrived in Russia, she immediately tried to blend in by learning the language and converting to the Russian Orthodox Church. When she was sick and close death once, her mother wanted to call a Lutheran priest but she declined and ask for an Orthodox one which brought her even higher in the favour of Empress Elisabeth.
Her marriage to Peter was unhappy. Both took lovers and did not make a great effort to hide it. There are many children alleged to Sophie but only of two we can say for sure that she is the mother of: Emperor Paul I. of Russia and his sister Grand Duchess Anna who died in infancy. Since both children were immediately taken from her after birth by The Empress, she was never close to either of them.
Sophie became the ruling Empress of Russia after a coup d'état overthrew her Prussian sympathetic husband Peter III. Initially she was only supposed to be the regent for her minor son Paul.
Sophie died on November 17th, 1796, after a stroke. She became 67 years old and is currently the only female ruler who ever received the suffix the Great.

A Proper Wedding
(Trigger Warning: Abuse)
The sun had long since set by the time Terez sat down at the end of the long pier in Seafarer’s Rest. The last of the dancing had come to an end, and the few remaining guests wished the newlyweds well before their honeymoon to Northrend. She had considered speaking to Mozelle, the only person left, but instead contented herself with robbing the dinner table of two largely full bottles of wine before finding her way to her pierside perch by the sea. The wedding itself had been the most beautiful Terez had ever seen, and the festivities afterwards had elicited as many joyous laughs from her as the ceremony had tears. It had been beautiful. It had been sweet. It had been heartfelt. All and all, it was a perfect night, and as Terez looked up at the bright moon only occasionally obscured by the dark night clouds, Terez knew in her heart that she was happy for them. Overjoyed, even. That was the purpose of weddings anyway, wasn’t it? Joy?
But still, as Alexandria and Merellia departed the dark and heavy pit of something that had been floating in her stomach all night suddenly sank with added weight. She had tried her best to hide it behind a smile, as she hid so very many things, but her usual masquerade had faltered that evening as friend after friend asked if she was alright. Cerusani, Josephine, and a few others had all come to her one by one to check and make sure that she was okay. It was sweet of them, but it hadn’t been enough to stave off the oppressive and choking cloud of darkness that clogged her throat like a stubborn chunk of stuck apple that simply refused to go down. The feeling she held wasn’t envy, or jealousy, or anything of that sort - far from it, actually. Instead she felt like she was an anchor tossed out to sea, and that she was sinking perilously into the inky depths of a bottomless ocean with no hope of ever rising. It was suffocating, but thankfully she had the air she needed in her bottle of wine.
So she drank to breath.
And drank to forget.
And drank to no longer feel.
But the more she drank the more she heard the soft violin of her wedding music, the more she could smell the polished silver of the dinning room where the reception had been held, the more she could feel the calloused touch of his hand in her palm as they danced. By the time the first bottle was gone Terez was at her wedding again. It had been so small and intimate within Lord Gregory Ascania’s home, and the contrast of the flickering gold candelabras had been pretty against the darkly rich wood of the manor’s library. It had just been her, Gregory, a few of his closest friends, and the Tidespeaker. Her dress had been so gorgeous, although like everything Gregory had picked it out. Layers of beautiful white lace with pretty pearl buttons that had felt so smooth under her fingers. It was a dress fit for a beautiful bride at a beautiful wedding.
She hated it.
For years Terez had wandered the streets of Stormwind and Boralus, spending rainy nights under tiny awnings and in the homes of strangers. She had done whatever was necessary to survive after her father had cast her out at the age of sixteen and disowned her for just being her. It was hard. The homelessness, the abject poverty, the endless drinking and endless highs just to stave off the choking loneliness. She had barely been nineteen when Lord Ascania, a man whose hair had long turned grey with age, had found her in the Dampwick Ward and took a shine to her. He had asked her to smile for him, and she had. After that? It was over.
He brought her to his home, gave her proper clothes, and gave her food and a warm bed to sleep in at night. In the protective warmth of his home Terez no longer had to worry about what shadows lurked in the blackness of night on dark streets, or having to constantly worry about how she could make a copper or two to get her next high or loaf of bread - whatever struck her as most necessary in that moment. He offered her everything she had ever wanted: the life of a lady, the life of a woman of wealth and high society,  a chance to be the her that she had been born to be. And who better than he to give her this? Lord Gregory Ascania was rich and powerful, an Admiral in his own right, and a powerful voice in the Assembly of Great Houses that served the Proudmoore Admiralty. His connections and influence ran deep, and his nobility was beyond reproach. He taught her the lessons of etiquette she had never finished, he taught her how to sing and dance, he taught her how to dress, and he taught her how to curtsey and smile so that it pleased those around her. He also taught her how to be ruthless, and how to be smart in a world where being a fool meant certain death. He had shaped her, molded her, turned her into what he desired. She had been his little porcelain doll, and she hadn’t realized his soft touch for what it was until it was too late, for she had been too accustomed to the cruel end of her father’s cane during his beatings to recognize that there were other ways to hurt. Gregory was her husband in name only, and like any master he did not care to let his treasures leave when they desired.
The night she opened his throat with his own blade was both the worst and greatest night of her life. The memory itself made her wine taste like iron, and what was left of her second bottle was tossed into the sea. The white glossy deadness in the elder Lord Ascania’s eyes in the moments after Terez had taken the dagger from beneath her pillow and ended his life were haunting will-o'-the-wisps that danced and lurked forever in the darkness locked away in the back of her mind - impressions on her soul that would never fade with time. He was a ghost to her, but one that was inextricably bound and woven into the very fabric of her being. He had saved her. He had made her. He had enslaved her. One could forget many things in life, but try as hard as one might, one could never truly forget their creator. Never.
So, Terez wept at the end of the long lonely pier in Seafarer’s Rest. She wept because the wedding had reminded her of her own. She wept because she felt alone. Most painfully, she wept because, despite all of the cruel and malicious things Lord Gregory Ascania had done to her…
She still missed him.

Pauline Christine Wilhelmine of Anhalt-Bernburg (23 February 1769 – 29 December 1820) was a princess consort of Lippe, married in 1796 to Leopold I, Prince of Lippe. She served as the regent of Lippe during the minority of her son from 1802 to 1820. She is regarded as one of the most important rulers of Lippe. On 1 January 1809, she abolished serfdom by princely decree. She managed to keep the principality independent during the Napoleonic Wars. She wrote a constitution, in which the power of the estates was reduced. In the collective historical consciousness of the Lippe population, however, she is best remembered for her social goals. Influenced by French reformist writings, she founded the first day care center in Germany, a labor school for neglected children, a voluntary work camp for adult charity recipients and a health care institution with first aid center.

The Grand Gala
Tumblr media
"Such events are a test of how well we wear our facades in public. Every face you saw that evening was a well-crafted mask."
______________________________________________________________
The Grand Gala. The Lady High Speaker Terez Ascania put together an evening of merriment for all the lords and ladies of the kingdom, and the turnout of nobles had been a testament to the evening’s planning -- much to Vynlorin’s dismay. The warlock stepped through the crowds with a glass of thistle wine attempting to sooth his thoughts, but the ruckus of the evening drowned out each sip.
Laughter. Dancing. Music. Drinks.
Faces smiling and greeting their neighbor.
Eyes sparkling at the lavish affair.
The night should have been pleasant, and truly it was pleasant on the surface, yet still the baron of Thornwood dripped his venom through the crowds.
Like a stain on the merriment, Vynlorin spoke his honesty while everyone around put on feigned pleasantries. He told his displeasures to Uozumi because they were true. He told his admiration of the evening’s affairs to Lady Terez because it was true. He made ill jests that made even Aredhele bite back at him because he could not force his tongue to be anything other than what it was.
In a room of wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing, Vynlorin wore his fangs proudly.
Every person at the gala was one word away from biting the other’s throat. Political enemies forged false friendship for the sake of appearances, and each person that boasted their accomplishments had equal demons hiding behind their eyes.
Darkness slithered within their thoughts.
The baron had recently witnessed these beasts condemn an innocent man for his former allegiance to the horde. He witnessed these beasts murder a father who sought vengeance for his children. These same beasts now sparkled in the moonlight, dressing up their sins with fine silks and elegant charm.
These same beasts would no doubt condemn the court of House Valtieri for the turbulent political history of their blood and kin.
It sickened Vynlorin, sparking a flame of ire in his chest as a hole began to burn where his patience had been. He could do nothing more than scorn these nobles who played gods of the realm while refusing to accept their natures. A beast should be a beast proud of its origin, and the baron of Thornwood embraced the ugly nature of his beast as he built a future for his court. The master torturer fed his beast until it brought him the power to protect his people. Though he was an unpopular face in the crowd, he wore his nature proudly on his sleeve and dared his opposition to defy him.
Yet the nobles of Stormwind were cowards who hid behind their dresses and their suits. They were cowards who smiled at their enemies only to drive daggers into their backs. These nobles knew only how to lie and deceive and paint others to be the demons that they themselves harbored. This kingdom suffered under the falsities born from elegant galas and parties that painted a thief’s face with gold, and still the innocents of the kingdom were forced to kneel to these false gods.
The thought lingered with Vynlorin long after the night had ended. He dwelled in the darkness of his study while rolling the evening’s affairs through his mind again and again, his brow dipping low at the treachery of it all. The baron couldn’t shake the disgust that now bubbled within his thoughts and consumed his passion.
How dare these beasts pretend to be anything other than monsters who deserved to be put down?

"Der Herzoge von Anhalte" Portrait of HENRY I (c. 1170 – 1252) in the Codex Manesse (early 14th c.) >> Henry I, Count of Anhalt was a German prince of the House of Ascania and Count of Anhalt. He was the oldest son of Bernhard III, Duke of Saxony and Count of Anhalt, by his wife Brigitte, a daughter of Canute V of Denmark. After the death of his father in 1212, the surviving sons of the late duke divided his lands according to the laws of the House of Ascania: Henry received Anhalt and the younger Albert the Saxon duchy. In 1218 Henry was raised to the rank of prince (German: Fürst). Henry's most famous ministerialis (bondsman) was Eike von Repgow from Reppichau, who compiled the Sachsenspiegel, the most important legal code of the German Middle Ages. Henry also was a renowned Minnesänger. At the beginning of 14th century, five of his Minnelieder (love songs) were copied into the Codex Manesse, an exceptionally beautiful collection. In this source, he is erroneously referred to as a "duke". Before his death, Henry divided Anhalt between his sons: Henry inherited Aschersleben, Bernhard received Bernburg, and Siegfried took Zerbst. His other surviving sons, Hermann and Magnus, were ordained priests.
