Very informative video on why things are so expensive in Canada. You can see clearly that for corporations, banks and government owned companies, there's no real competition. Contrast this with immigration, and you can see how these big organizations can dictate both prices and wages, they don't need to compete for employees either.

Biden blames everyone but himself for the high prices. Now it's grocery stores.
Biden blames everyone but himself for the high prices. Now it’s grocery stores. At a dinner in South Carolina, Biden again turned around and blamed another group for high prices. The grocery stores. So now will we see the DOJ send out the FBI to arrest store owners for his bad policies? He keeps on saying how inflation is coming down. Here’s a comparison. first. Inflation hits 10% then comes down…

"THE COST OF LIVING IS STILL SOARING," Toronto Globe. September 10, 1913. Page 7. --- AND THE PROSPECTS FOR A PRONOUNCED DROP ARE NOT VERY BRIGHT. ---- (Canadian Press Despatch.) Ottawa, Sept. 9. - The cost of living index number took another jump upwards last month from 135.9, the figures for July, to 136.2. In August, 1912, the figures were 133.3, so that there was near a three-point in. crease in August of this year compared with the same month a year ago. "And," say the officials at the Labor Department who compile the average cost of prices every month, "the prospects for any pronounced drop in the average cost of the commodities classified under the list of necessities of life are not very bright."
The cause for the advance in the average cost last month was principally due to the increase in price of potatoes, eggs, canned lobster, anthracite coal, grains and fodder. Such things as beef, lamb, butter, lake trout, whitefish, canned peas and coffee dropped a few points.
Meats are a little higher in price than they were a year ago, but grains - and fodder are lower.

My mom picked up breakfast since basically everyone in my house but me are going on a two week trip. She got a dozen donuts for $14 usd and she got McDonald’s for $17 usd. She ordered 4 things for my dad and sibling and they gave her the wrong order. $17 for McDonald’s, the breakfast is good but idk if it’s $17 worth, it’s still just McDonald’s.

RBI's Inflation Targets and Projections for 2024
In March, India's retail inflation dropped to a ten-month low of 4.85% from 5.1% in February. However, food prices remained high, with inflation at 8.52%, similar to February's 8.66%. Rural areas experienced slightly higher inflation at 5.45% in March, compared to 5.34% in February, while urban areas saw a decrease from 4.8% to 4.14%.
Prices for cereals and meat went up, while vegetables, pulses, spices, and eggs remained expensive. The overall Consumer Price Index stayed the same, but the food price index increased by about 0.2%. Economists are worried that the ongoing heatwave could lead to higher food prices in the coming months.
Although current inflation is above the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) target of 4%, the average retail price rise for the last quarter of 2023-24 was 5.01%, matching the RBI's projection. The RBI expects inflation to ease to an average of 4.5% this year from 5.4% in 2023-24, with an average of 4.9% in the April to June quarter.
Food prices, especially for cereals, vegetables, spices, and pulses, are under pressure. Recent price hikes by fast-moving consumer goods firms are also a concern. While core inflation is decreasing, the risk of high and volatile food inflation due to the heatwave remains. Interest rate cuts are expected only in the latter half of the fiscal year, depending on factors like the monsoon, crude oil prices, and the US Fed's rate easing cycle.
ICRA expects food and beverages inflation, which was 7.8% in March, to remain over 7% in April. A favorable monsoon is crucial to keeping food inflation in check and managing inflationary expectations.

Onion & Tomato Prices:
