Doubt this’ll pick up too much traction because it’s my own silly content but

I made some TF2 OCs.

They’re basically an alternative team of mercenaries that Blutarch and Redmond may have hired if they want wanted more than just the nine we have.

They still have the classes of the canon mercs, and it’s implied that the canon mercs still exist here, this is just the B-squad basically.

In order:

Francesca DiColpa, the medic, from Italy. Much like the counterpart of Herr Doktor, she’s got several screws loose, but is still very protective of her team. She also not only experiments on others, but herself.

Rosalie “Rosie” Anne Bassett, the scout, from Canada. She’s completely mute, the polar opposite of her canon counterpart, but she’s still bursting with personality and a terrific slugger in spite of any of that. She’s also kind of the morality pet of the gang.

Yuki Yamamoto, the heavy, from Japan. By far the least developed one, but Yuki is quiet, but very clever. She’s also quite a nice gal, as long as you’re not on the firing end of her machine gun.

Did you ever hear about Heisenberg being a N*zi thing? Any thoughts?

I don’t know (or like... care tbh) enough about the character to look up how old he is/how long he’s been alive (if that’s even available info), but unless he’s got some weird Lady D immortality type shit going on, I’m highly doubtful of him being an actual Nazi. He looks to be in his 40’s to early 50’s, so assuming nothing weird going on that involves him not aging, that simply doesn’t add up — Village takes place in 2021. I’m also not a fan of throwing out shit like “x is a Nazi” without really good evidence or Word of God confirmation.

HOWEVER COMMA

It makes sense they might use that imagery seeing as he’s a fucking villain. He’s literally made to be a roadblock that inevitably must to be killed to progress, just like pretty much all Resident Evil villains not named Albert Wesker. People have also been making games/movies/media and taking the imagery of Nazis/the Third Reich for their villains for ages. What and who do you think Darth Vader/the Empire/the First Order are based off of? Like. It may not be a great trope, but it is a very common one in both Japanese and western media.

The ‘Evil scientist that experiments on dead bodies to create bio-weapon soldiers’ schtick could have easily just been yet another Dr. Fakenstein/Herr Doktor/etc. type character — fitting, since Village is already full of B-movie horror tropes — but the naming scheme for his creations specifically being in German and militaristic to boot does kinda make me side-eye all of this more than just a little. If nothing else, I think it’s in extremely poor taste. Even for RE.

All that said, I do find it fucking bizarre that they seemed to have been inspired by that imagery to some extent for Heisenberg, yet gave him straight up fucking Magneto powers, when Magneto’s backstory has depicted him as a German-born Jewish kid that survived the Holocaust since like the early 1980’s or so. So uh... if true...

I absolutely love the trope of 'Science-minded person refusing the reality of magic', but may I offer this? Schneep totally knows magic is real. He just likes watching Marv's and Jackie's frustrations grow. Even JJ has developed a slight eye twitch when Shcneep starts his spiels.

hahaha well that’s why Marvin thinks he’s just fucking with him at this point! but yeah I mean probably JACK was the one who was like “oh yeah magic’s real cause i just goddamn created you” and Henrik’s like “once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth, so I guess FUCK SCIENCE it’s betrayed me okay fine magic’s real too”

but then he kind of thinks Marvin is an asshole

with his fancy hair and the way he’s always glaring at Henrik from across the table (cause he is a little jealous he is not the baby brother anymore and he has to share Jackie and Jack with someone)

so he REFUSES to believe it in Marvin’s presence lollll

it’s been three years and they’re friends now and Henrik has seen EVERY possible shred of evidence that magic is real but he’s still like “nah it’s science” and Marvin just sighs and pats his shoulder and says “one day I’m just going to turn you into a cockatoo Herr Doktor” and Henrik just laughs

(bonus points if Henrik is somehow magic too so of course he knows it’s real he just never tells Marvin about his powers because it’s hilarious to him that Marvin is still trying to prove it to him after all this time)
