Series Review: Hana Wants This Flower to Bloom!
Tumblr media
Basics
Genre: Josei, Romance, Comedy
Status: Completed
Original Run: 2019
Number of Volumes: 3
Number of Chapters: 12
Review
Hana Wants This Flower to Bloom! is about Hanakawa Iroha, a young woman who has been running a home gardening blog for four years, despite not having much success with plants. Being equally unsuccessful in love, Hana meets a good-looking guy at the train station who turns out to be her marriage interview partner, Akikazu Takaya. Unfortunately for her, he has zero interest in getting married. But Hana soon learns that Akikazu might be “sunmoon”, a long-time commenter on her blog. Will this newfound discovery be enough for Hana to change Akikazu’s mind and get him to fall for her?
I guess you could say that Akikazu is the proverbial “flower” in the title of this series considering how he “blooms” over time with the help of Hana’s nurturing.
Having said that, Hana and Akikazu couldn’t be anymore opposite from each other. Hana has a super bubbly personality and isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind. Akikazu on the other hand is very buttoned-up and always tries to keep things professional, even in his personal life. But perhaps Akikazu needed someone like Hana in his life in order to sprout out of the ground and feel the sunshine on his leaves okay, enough plant metaphors.
While it was certainly amusing to see them constantly butt heads, at times Hana came off as way too desperate in her effort to make Akikazu accept her feelings towards him, despite knowing he had no interest in love and romance, let alone marriage. I just wanted to tell her, “Girl, just take it down a few notches!” But I guess love can make one do things completely out of character (for better or worse).
Hana Wants This Flower to Bloom! was certainly a bumpy journey, but what romance doesn’t have at least one or two bumps in the road? If you like romance, comedy, the “opposites attract” trope, and gardening, then Hana Wants This Flower to Bloom! might be worth a try!
Thank you for taking the time to read this review! I hope you will check out Alice in Mangaland for more manga reviews in the future! Arigato gozaimasu! Thank you!

First post !
Hello ^^
My name is Diana and I'm a college student. This is my second week of holidays and I suddenly remembered a manga that I read last week: 「 Hana-san wa Minorasetai! 」 or Hana Wants This Flower to Bloom!
Tumblr media
It is a cute romance with some comedy and some slice of life. Hana is an office worker who after a series of unfortunate events meets Takaya, a man who doesn't seem to like her. She still tries to pursue him. The thing is that Hana has had a daily blog about gardening for quite some time where she shares the updates about her daily life and her attempts in cultivating plants. And in this blog there is a person that always comments on her posts encouraging her. Hana finds out that this person may be Takaya and so she keeps trying to get to know him.
Actually even though I liked it, I didn't realize it had already finished until I went to click the next chapter button and it said return to manga page. I even had to reread the end because I kind of had rushed through it 😅 hahahaha. It was still fun to read !
Going back to what I was trying to say, since I remembered this manga I thought I could maybe start a blog, which I had always wanted to do. As my parents have a lot of plants, my first idea was to make a blog about me trying to take care of a plant, but honestly it could have been pretty boring. So after thinking about my hobbies I realized I could start a blog about manhwas and mangas, which I really enjoy 😊.
This summer it will be a year since I started reading comics. It was such a wonderful new world for me: I could read a lot of different stories with an amazing art! For me it really changed how I spend my free time, it's very weird that a day goes by without me having read some comics. It's kind of like my guilty pleasure of the day.
I'll keep posting about many recommendations and I hope that you end up enjoying the comics as much as I do ^^
Bye bye ❤

Hana Wants This Flower to Bloom!
ハナさんは実らせたい!(Hana-san wa Minorasetai!) is a manga written last 2000 by Haruna Ueno.
Summary: Hana meets a good-looking guy at the train station, then happens to meet him again at a blind date. However, despite his indifferent attitude, Hana discovers that he just might be the person she's been talking to online for the past four years!
Tumblr media
To be honest, I though this was only released last 2020 because I deadass waited updates for this one every month. I was one of those people who was starving for what’s going to happen between the two of them. The atmosphere is so light at the same time it showed me that there are a lot of reasons as to why we choose to be alone at times and choose to be with someone in a romantic sense. It's just too bad because the ending felt rush and we did not get a wedding??? The ML’s problem is that he doesn’t want to get married because of some reason and the FL goes to blind dates to get MARRIED. So that was one of the downsides of this manga. And I know shoujo world is fond of FL being pushovers and it also slightly conveyed here that she was too easy. I liked that she’s so upfront but she got way too open in the last panels. It could have been done better but anyway this one’s still cute and refreshing.
