Welp... here we go...
Tumblr media
If you dont want spoilers then I recommend you skip this entire post because I do not respect this film at all to not talk about the shit that happens in this film.
⚠️AFTER THIS LINE ITS ALL SPOILERS⚠️
This films wants to be an emotional gut punch but it is so... I your face about it. Emotional beats are either predictable or just... they don't hit. And the ultimate sacrifice from Bhgs at the end while sad just doesn't hit anything. And the plot of "Oh the main villain manipulates the kid to go against his dad and the villain ultimately joins the rival team" is really predictable. And I know that in the end this is a film targeted to kids and thats fine. But this film felt like it was trying to be too hip and too aware (the entire joke about LeBron acting hip and the 'don't dab' comment is just not funny)
The jokes
The jokes in this film do not land for me, albeit 2 (the joke about Sylvestar grabbing Michael B Jordan instead of the actual Michael Jordan was ok and the fact Wiley Coyote was in Mad Max was really cool) ; most the jokes either fell flat or completely missed the mark (this film tried to be hip and modern with its humor and honestly it was more cringe than anything else.
Also idk if this was intentional or not, but can we stop making jokes about how companies are stealing our info and spying on us? We get it Zuckerberg is trash Facebook and other big companies are taking our personal info but seriously it does get old. Mitchell's vs the Machines was at least clever because it was about a big tech company abusing it's power. Space Jam: A New Legacy is about an A.I trying to make himself feel better cause he doesn't feel appreciated and is projecting his issues on a kid he cyberstalked for a whopping 3 minutes.
The Plot
The films Plot is predictable, short, and a around not engaging. The idea of bringing another pro basketball player to aid the Tunes in another wild game for their survival isn't the problem, it's the rest of the Plot that's the problem.
The first film had a simple enough Plot that worked really well (The Tunes have to win a basketball game against roided up aliens or they'll become Amusement Park attractions, and they need a bow retired player to hp them win) Its short and sweet and it works.
This film felt the need to overcomicate it by forcing a dramatic subplot into the fold which, can work. You can have a dramatic subplot while still being a Zany and fun film. But SJ:NL can't seem to decide which to focus on; it goes from zany and over the top one moment moment then gives you tonal whiplash when it jumps to the dramatic bits in the plot.
I genuinely think that this film would've benefited from focusing on the zaniness over the drama, since frankly that's always been the focus of the Looney Tunes
Loony Tunes: Back in Action and Space Jam 1 are two tonaly similar films but both have better comedy and each have their respective dramatic beats, though their both saved for the climax of the film.
LT:BIA and SJ1 both have they're own dramatic subplots (M.J makes the deal with Smackhammer to raise the stakes of the game and J.D has to save his father from the Chairman and his plans. The difference here is that these films, while adding a level of drama, don't let the drama overshadow what tnis film is actually about (the Looney Tunes)
SJ:NL let's the drama completely overshadow the actual Tunes and isn't really engaging (to me anyway)
Also I'd like to say that, while giving this film a video game feel was an interesting concept it just reminded me more of Pixels or The Emoni Movie (though this wasn't NEARLY as bad as the Emoji movie I'll say that)
That's something else about this film. It feels like one big advertisement for everything WB owns (much like how Emoji Movie was one big Smartphone ad) and while that isn't inherently a bad thing it can be a hinderence to the film as well (I wanted to watch the films that cameod in this film more than the actual film itself)
The Characters
Look this is the Tom and Jerry film again, we don't go to this film for LeBron and his fictional family (if some people do then that's fine) but most of us go to see the film for the Tunes and the cartoon asthetic, and there's plenty of that here. But I'd like to actually care about the human characters in this film frankly.
Let's just get this out of the way, LeBron is not a great actor. He tries his best yes but he is not a great actor in this film; he reminds me more of Vin Deisel when he acts (he has a voice yes but he doesn't act physically. It's like he's trying to have his voice match the film but his body isn't in tune with it.
Now I don't wanna hate on kid actors, they do what they can and they're kids. But listen this kid was not interesting at all, and id have rathered the film not include him (or very least make him more interesting other than the "Gosh Dad stop pushing your ways and beliefs onto me" archetype.
The Tunes are fine I have no beef with how they treated the Tunes (all for ONE detail)
The way thsi film treats the Tunes in this film bothers me on so many levels. "Send him to the Rejects" "Losers" The fact that they treat the Looney Tunes like they're some forgotten property is really unsettling to me. The Tunes have never been forgotten the notion that they ARE forgotten bothers me so much, regardless if it's a plot point for the film. The Looney Tunes are some of the most recognizable faces in ask of media, and I get this is supposed to be a "New School vs Old School" message like with the Father vs Son but my God I do not like how this protrays the Tunes.
Speaking of the rejects, let's talk about AL G Rythm.
My God this is the most uninteresting villain and his whole plan is so easy to spot from the start of the film. "Oh look at me, I have a bruised ego cause I feel unappreciated in my time and im gonna project my issues on this kid I cyberstalked while praying KING JAMES would bless me with his support." Holy shit my guy you have a bigger ego than Tony Stark and its more bruised than Bruce Wayne's back after Bane was finished. He is one of the most bland villains I've seen in awhile, and the Goon Squad is no better. The Goon Squad is nothing but cool designs and a refderence to more popular Basketball players (and yeah they're supposed to be cronies but at least make them cronies with personality; the Nerdlucks were funny, had personality, and were an integral part of the story (also the fact that they ACTUALLY HAD THE NERDLUCKS CAMEO in in film but they were rooting against the Tunes just... Ehhhhhhhhhh) And the Goon Squad was boring and didn't add anything say for AL G. stealing the kids algorithm to make his own team.
Also sidenote, them constantly calling him "King James" got really annoying really fast. Like we get you gave yourself that nickname, you're the current too NBA player rn and all that but you don't have to keep saying it my God.
Now what did I actually like about this film. Well quite a bit actually.
For starters, the animation was top notch and everything looked great. I thought the 2D models were a little odd at first (too shiny compared to the faded sleek of the original) but they grew on me. All the CGI models of the Tunes looked really great, say for Sam who just looked really weird to me (probably cause he loses his hat by the end and a CGI Yosemeti Sam without a hat just looks strange)
The Tunes also felt exactly how they should in a Space Jam film, Bugs especially. Yes Daffy was his usual comedic self and I like how they had him try and be the manager of the team instead of a player, and every other Tune was just as zany as usual; honestly of all the Tunes I'm genuinely impressed with how they treated Bugs (till the end)
Bugs was the most interesting to see in the film, wherein every character left Tune World except Bugs and he kinda became this Castaway parody (with his own makeshift Porky Pig dummy) and he was just really lonely and stayed true to the Looney Way and he just wants his family back. That entire subplot is the most interesting part of this film hands down; the only thing about Bugs's arc I didn't like was the end which was predictable, but i was still more invested in Bugs's arc than anyone else's.
Also when they showed the Tunes on the other WB worlds in the Warnerverse that's not the name ik but it's basically the Warnerverse the only Movie refferences that i thought were clever were Mad Max, Austin Powers, and Themyscira. And as much as it pains me to admit it the Rick and Morty Gag with Taz was probably the funniest of them, and I don't even like Rick and Morty anymore.
The Matrix was just eh, Yosemite Sam just didn't land, Game of Thrones was just not funny and I won't apologize. As far as the cameos/refferences in the end I'll say it again, I wanted to watch the movies and shows that cameod more than the film itself. I'm not gonna try to list them off but some highlights were seeing Gremlins, the Mask, every Tim Burton Batman villain/Adam West Batman, Thundercats, and Scooby Doo. Aside from that this was all just one big add for Warner Bros.
So I'm gonna try end this on a note that I know alot of people are gonna bring up or use to say shouldn't be brought up: Nostalgia.
Listen. This film has the same issue that alot of modern film reboots tend to have, which is the fact that it has to match the same hype as the film that came before it.
Now I'd like to say that this isn't gonna be a Power Point on reboots, God knows this is long enough as is, but the issue with alot of reboots is that they try to remake something that more often than not did the media justice the first time around. Robocop, Nightmare on Elm Street, Ghostbusters 2016, litterally every Disney L.A Remake. This isn't to say these films can't be good, or even surpass their predecessors. But more often than not they tend to miss the mark either just barely or drastically.
And here's the thing, this argument can also apply to sequel films that are following up an iconic film that for fhe most part is still very prominent in modern media.
Space Jam has, for better or for worse, remained one of the most iconic films every made, if not for its premise alone. And when they announced a sequel it was only inevitable that people compare it to the original because, let's face it, we want the new film to live up to the original.
We want this new shiny film to live up to the film we all knew growing up as kids and adults, seeing the Tunes on a basketball court for the first time back in the 90s. And frankly, this film did not do that for me.
This film, to me, wants to be what Space Jam already is. But it felt the need to try and thats the first step it failed; it wanted to be hip and aware and make loads of refferences to the original
This film has a similar issue to Ghostbusters:Answer the Call I think, where in it wants to stand on its own two feet, but jt cant help but constantly remind us of a much superior film. We know they've done this before you don't have to keep saying it "We need help with a basketball game Lola!" Been there! Done that!" "So you want me to help you win a high stakes basketball game? One that could very well decide both our fates? Hmmmmm where have I seen that before?"
This film is like that one kid in class who already proved he was right, and is still trying to prove he was right.
If you think this film is great and you enjoy it just as much as the original that's perfectly fine, I'm not gonna try to overshadow your opinions, I just want to share mine.
In the end, I'm gonna rate this film a solid 4/10 (and most of that 4 is the comedy and the animation and the Tunes themselves.) Can you watch this just for the Tunes? Absolutely. Can you like this film more than me? Also absolutely. Do I think this film would've been worth it if I'd have seen it in theaters? No not at all I'm glad I waited for HBO Max.

I've been wanting to say something about the current sitch in Indonesia
because twitter isn’t enough and non-Indons might have heard about this since #Ahok was in the TT yesterday
A little background on the subject matter: Jakarta’s governor Basuki T. Purnama (Ahok) was recently sentenced to two years in jail for allegedly insulting a Koran passage http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN1842GE (you’ll find many others and deeper background floating around)
Ahok is probably the first Jakarta governor to sweep the city off corrupt shitbags, with people condemning him for being both ethnically Chinese and a Christian. People have actually not supported him for these reasons alone despite enjoying developments under his administration. This has gone beyond matters of race and ethnicity. This has gone far beyond what he said wrong or what he did right, what people think of him and the FPI. This is about more than Jakarta. This is how Indonesia’s proving itself not just as a country, but as a collective of different peoples once dubbed one of the world’s best muslim majority with the smoothest running democracy. And we’re doing it wrong. So wrong.
Political events are what reveal the darkest layers of people, which is a pretty bitter truth. My mom cried over the arrest but her agony came mostly from the fact that my dad voted for Anies Baswedan, who sided with the FPI (the islamist radicals) and the radical Muslim majority and who happens to used to be a really good guy; I’ve seen friends condemning each other for seeming like they’re iconizing Ahok but all they’re saying is basically “nothing you do means shit”; some are rallying with the rest of the supporters in the city center; some shouted Allahuakbar when Ahok was arrested.
Ahok’s arrest and Rizieq being set loose, in my personal conviction, was meant as a declaration of who’s about to be in power. I guess some of us have known how all this is merely drama - some say to overthrow Jokowi, some say this is SBY getting a hardon over power supply, what have you, theories all over. It’s been compared to Trump vs Clinton numerous times (though I think Trump vs Sanders is more proper) because Anies, who himself is a moderate and NOT a conservative, sides with the hardliners as a means of capitalizing the majority belief to gain votes. I’m part of that majority. I’m part of the Malayan-by-race, Muslim majority, the same majority that proved through the elections and the arrest and the events prior to following, that democracy will always, and always, side with the majority. Our majority marginalizes, while the rest are keeping quiet.
Ahok’s arrest might not affect *some* layers of society but I doubt it’ll have little to no effect to minorities when we’ve heard FPI and radicals shouting “Sweep the christians!” Or “kill the chinese”. This is currently happening, guys. If you’re reading this in Ohio or NY or LA or Bedstuy, this is happening. More or less a total reversal of what’s happening in the US. And it’s just as scary.
To anyone, Indonesians or non, reading this I beg yall: no more neutrality. No more keeping quiet, no more of that “i’m tired of politics” bullshit. You’re hating on people who put Ahok on a pedestal? Try hating on people who put Soekarno on a pedestal for bringing about a fucking independence. Try saying the same shit on people who respect, not worship, profoundly the likes of Malcolm X or Bhutto, not because they’re pure or prophets, they’re not. But they do bring about change. They’re driving the masses to where it could and would be better and equal for everyone. And I think it’s complete and utter crap to charge a man for a criminal offense that would satisfy a majority whose belief is totally politicized by sick fucks with their holy pawns.
If you’re reading this, know where we stand. I stand with Ahok because I believe in him - a entirely imperfect, flawed human being and one of very, very few to dare provoke and challenge injustice. The nation is stirred, politicians are stirred, everybody’s gearing up for a revolution, and looks like we’ve got our symbol. Ahok’s gonna go down in history, and I’ll be damned if we aren’t part of that with him.

THIS WEEK IN SCHADENFREUDE, Texas is just hopping mad
Tumblr media
Texas leads a wide-ranging tour of the angry college football internet after Week 9.
Welcome back to THIS WEEK IN SCHADENFREUDE, your weekly rocket ship ride through the most infuriated regions of the college football galaxy. Last week, this page focused exclusively on Ohio State, because that was the only logical choice. This week, we’re taking a journey around a small handful of furious fanbases on the internet.
Texas lost to Oklahoma State, knocking the Longhorns out of the top 10.
Though they remain in the thick of a chaotic Big 12 race, it’s a disappointing moment for Tom Herman’s bunch. Said one Longhorn fan afterward:
I don’t want to watch football anymore
That was the title of a message board thread. This was the profound body:
.
And there you have it.
A former Texas linebacker got into a fast-escalating online beef with a current Texas cornerback, who’d been suspended for the first quarter.
Ex-Horn Emmanuel Acho initially defended the suspended Kris Boyd, because Texas sitting down a starting cornerback had the side effect of helping OSU get lots of yards:
I understand all the, “teach your players a lesson” tweets, but YALL understand, if Saban benched players everytime they violated team or American laws, Bama might not have a single national title.
— Emmanuel Acho (@thEMANacho) October 28, 2018
But then Acho — who’s now an ESPN analyst — got rougher.
Bruh, you can’t be late to meetings THEN come out here and get mossed. Your team needs you. #Texas #OkState
— Emmanuel Acho (@thEMANacho) October 28, 2018
And then he used the “trash” word ...
I can’t watch this dude play defense anymore. It’s actually trash. If you know. You know. #Texas
— Emmanuel Acho (@thEMANacho) October 28, 2018
... and said he wasn’t talking specifically about Boyd, but, uh:
Naw I feel u, and I didn’t say I was talking about Kris, I would never put nobody on front street like that... but anybody who feels that tweet applies to them should probably step up. I played hella trash games in my day lol. U grow and move on u feel me
— Emmanuel Acho (@thEMANacho) October 28, 2018
How’d Boyd respond? Aggressively.
Boyd going straight after Acho on Instagram. Smart. pic.twitter.com/0LuqqMGzl4
— Burnt Orange Nation (@BON_SBNation) October 28, 2018
Fortunately for Boyd, INSTAGRAM ASSAULT is not a violation of team rules.
One fan had a spicy take about what should be done to the game’s officiating crew: They should all be handed over to the mob.
Refs are screwing us again
The offsides on that 4th down was f%<*¥ing criminal. Somebody send the mafia to threaten the refs to pay these dickheads back for 2015.
Texas fans were livid at the officiating in 2015’s OSU-UT game, when a few apparent officiating errors went against the Horns. Every other Big 12 fan in the universe thought it was deeply ironic to see Texas fans upset about refs.
(Texas actually had a legit beef about that offside call, yeah. Oklahoma State sent a bunch of guys in a “motion” that looked a lot like emulating live play, and refs didn’t call a false start, but instead penalized the Horns for jumping off. The Horns also probably got away with a penalty in their end zone later in the game. Either way, Sicilian crime families must get involved.)
This Horns fan was MAD and only got MADDER when nobody wanted to join in being EXTREMELY MAD.
User TexasHorn started this thread on the team’s 247Sports message board before Texas’ body was even cold, while it was still the second half:
A COMPLETE JOKE
Dan Neil, we have our answer, NO, Texas is not mature enough to handle success
Being destroyed on national television - not sure if the Horns can recover before next week because wvu has a better team than osu
Nobody responded, so they added:
Sorry for being honest - where am I wrong guys, seriously?
Any one thrilled with this performance?
Still, nobody responded, so they added again:
Explain the off sides guys - want to argue the complete joke comment?
So tired or posting without any response - gutless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, someone replied:
We’re playing scared like a bunch of pussies. Coaches and players.
Persistence always pays off.
THIS WEEK IN SCHADENFREUDE is usually about fans, but Tom Herman is now the second head coach to make an appearance, thanks to the end of the game.
This is the sort of sprinting velocity that can only be generated by pure anger.

(Herman and Mike Gundy are fine.)

Washington lost to Cal as a disappointing season became a total failure.
The Huskies are not even making a New Year’s Six bowl in Jake Browning’s senior year, two years after getting to the Playoff with him as a sophomore.
In some corners of the web, faith’s running short in Chris Petersen.
At HardcoreHusky.com, someone started a thread: People you have more faith in than CP, reflecting the fanbase’s growing impatience with Petersen, whose job titles are head coach, Guy Who Won a Million Games at Boise State, and Guy Who Got Washington to the College Football Playoff.
This was the only thing there:
Tumblr media
This was another fan’s measured response:
FUCK THSI PROGRUM IM FUCKING OUT
WE SUCK SND SHOULDNT LOSE TO CAL. WE ARE A LOSER PROGRUM. UPPER CAMPUS DGAF ABOUT WINNING. FIRE PEENERMAN. END TNIS FUCKING TEAM.I WANT DONG JAMES BACK. I WANT TO FUCKING WIN. NO JUAN IN THIS FANBASE HAS DTANDARS EXCEPT FOR THOS SITE. YOU GUYS GET ITZ PETERMAM DOES NOT. FUCK EVERYTHING.
Someone urged this poster to say calm:
Stay positive! Fuck Petersen!
But this blunt response to the loss pretty much summed it up:
We lost to cal
Lol I’m done. Fuck Husky football. Fuck Petersen. Fuck Browning. Fuck Haener. Fuck everything. Roll tide.
Maybe that sounds harsh, but UW fans have wanted Bama since early in 2016:

Miami lost to Boston College, which means it’s time to look at how Hurricanes fans responded to the team’s official Twitter account in real time.
When Miami loses, checking Twitter’s important, because Canes fans are always the most direct in college football. The classic of this genre:
I’m gonna jump off a building
— Heat 3x (@Jbazo5D) September 3, 2018
As Boston College put a thumping on the Canes, fans responded well. Just follow along with various score updates and quarter breaks.
1. After the first Boston College score:
Already with the bs
— Howard Webster (@TbearCane17) October 26, 2018
2. After, um, a Miami score:
Right...embarrassing.
— Carlos Marante (@ItsACanesThing5) October 27, 2018
3. After another BC score:
Is this a retweet?
— Tucker McFall (@RealTuckMcFall) October 26, 2018
4. End of the first quarter!

— Brandon English (@BEnglish007) October 26, 2018
5. After some ostensibly good news?
Way to look at the bright side.
— Brandon English (@BEnglish007) October 27, 2018
6. After an actual good play:
Throw the ball in front of the receiver and it could've been 6
— Christopher Gray (@Barclayallday26) October 27, 2018
7. After a touchdown by Miami:
How on Gods green earth do you have a -5 yard punt return, inside the 10-yard line, with not one but TWO blocks in the back on the return? That's piss poor
— Tucker McFall (@RealTuckMcFall) October 27, 2018
8. After a defensive stop by Miami:
We must be trying to run the clock out....ridiculous
— umcane (@umcane26) October 27, 2018
9. Halftime!
Yes a dogfight with BC! Proud day for the Canes.
— Bryant Jensen (@Bjensen630) October 27, 2018
10. After another good play by Miami’s defense:
BC knows our QB can’t hit the side of a barn further than ten yards so they playing up on the line
— solidlifefitness (@solidlifefitnes) October 27, 2018
11. A little later:
This guy is worse than Jacory Harris
— The Bad Hombre (@jbjammin34) October 27, 2018
12. Things getting desperate:
Get Jimmy Johnson out of retirement
— John Bennett (@DirtyBirdz19) October 27, 2018
13. The Turnover Chain is out! This is good for Miami!
This is the most remedial offense I've ever seen
— The Bad Hombre (@jbjammin34) October 27, 2018
14. End of the third quarter!
Social Media dude.. let Coach know Malik ain't it. Thanks boss.
— Joey Inza (@JoeyInza) October 27, 2018
15. Game over.
Joke.
— Nick Alvarez (@NicksTake22) October 27, 2018
I’ve said it before, but Miami fans are the overprotective relative who will roast you all day but threaten to burn down the house of anyone else who criticizes you.
I respect and fear them in equal measure.
Ultimately, it was best to just step away.
recap, 3 stars, good, bad, and ugly up on https://t.co/W9gmsOyW7d i have nothing else to say. i'm going to play #RDR2 bye.

Florida lost to Georgia, ending the Gators’ dreams of winning the SEC East.
Gators fans were actually pretty reasonable about it. I don’t have jokes. I’m just making the note here so that you know I was as disappointed to learn this as you were. I checked.

And TCU lost to Kansas, thus earning automatic inclusion as the last team on this list.
Things are dark in Fort Worth.
Is this how Baylor Feels?
For the first time I am embarrassed to wear my TCU gear in public.
The last spot in this list is now just tradition, devoted to any team that might lose to Kansas in a given week.
In Week 3, a Rutgers fan asked after losing to KU: “What stage of grief are you in?”
They have grinded me down into not caring about college football at all just like the Knicks and the Mets have done in basketball and baseball respectively. In a way it’s good. I can enjoy my kids without having to give a hoot about the scores on Saturdays.
Before that, in Week 2, a fan of the MAC’s Central Michigan wrote this:
Fire Bonamego
I know I’ll hear a lot of the usual “it’s too soon in the season” and “MAC play hasn’t even started”, but I’ve been a die-hard supporter of the football program and I EXPECT us to compete against the power teams every year. There’s no reason that we can’t be like Boise State or better. We need to strive to be better and we shouldn’t settle for mediocracy.
Again, that was a MAC fan distraught about losing to a Big 12 team.
Congrats to the Horned Frogs and their fans on joining this prestigious club.

Interview with JOE GOAL
If you live anywhere in Staten Island or New York City, you have most definitely seen work by the one and only GOAL. Since 1991, GOAL has been smashing property heavy and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Not only has GOAL been putting work in on the streets, but he has started a few trends that have become popular over the years.
So what’s good dude? You ready to smash 2017??
2017 will be no different from the last 26 years. I’ve painted steady every year of my career and have photo albums to prove it. Over the years piecing is getting a little boring, but doing fill-ins is like busting nuts.
Tumblr media
How many names did you go through before you chose GOAL?
Well, I went to school down the block from my house and the school had a walk over bridge that was grilled. So I always saw graffiti since first grade. At that time my best friend SW had an older brother RB. I saw him paint the bridge one day during school, and was like “I need a name.” I went into the lunchroom and I had a bag lunch with an Ecto Cooler juice box. I told my boy “I’m gonna touch the box with two fingers and those two letters gonna be my tag.” It was EC… Then RB started teaching me so I tried CE, then RE, but I liked the letters EC. So I picked 10 names from the dictionary and made my mom pick one. She chose EPIC. I stayed with that till ’95-’96 then my boy started driving me painting and I told him he needed a name also. He loves soccer so he picked GOAL. I was writing both names for two years, then the heat came on with EPIC and another old-school writer was writing it in Brooklyn so I just took GOAL and stuck with it.
Tumblr media
The Ecto Cooler is a classic. RB, BOBBY, the train crusher? Every time I go to a layup I see at least five trains with his name on it. What kind of spots are your favorites to rock? Streets, track spots?
Nah RB is an old school Staten Island guy, not that toy crap. This guy has been piecing and doing highways and shit since the 80’s. I’ll paint anything, anytime, anywhere. My favorite thing to rock is a beautiful girl, I’m a sex-a-holic.
Tumblr media
How many women do you think you’ve painted on?
I don’t know, my last girl asked me to paint her everyday, but I never did. As soon as she gets naked I just gotta fuck.
Growing up, what old school heads did you have the opportunity to meet growing up?
Well, I’m from Staten so there are a lot of people the other boroughs aren’t familiar with. These were the guys I looked up to and learned from. Such as, SCOPE2, MARS, ECHO, VERS, TEO, LEV, SIGN, FADE, but I did leave Staten Island and met a lot of people. Ones that stick out to me are guys like CAP MPC, TRACY 168, HEKTAD, COPE2, JUST WF, NOE, TYKE TFO. I always show respect to the guys that paved the way for me. Now days these new kids have no respect and they suck, no style.
Tumblr media
And that’s a fact. A lot of cats are ready to go out and paint, but don’t know any history. What was one of the first spots you busted a nut your first time hitting?
Wow, a lot of shit. In the late 90’s, I went all city. I drove more than public transportation. So I was smashing highways like the BQE was that dope shit, roofs, all of the major avenues. I remember I linked up with JUST WF and did a few spots in the Bronx and I think I went over somebody. Soon after that I linked up with JEE and since they told me to meet them in the Bronx I trooped out there and met COPE, REMO, SPEK BTC R.I.P. and we painted the 2 and 5 lines till noon the next day. There were fill-ins on everything. I kept going to the Bronx with the WF crew and BTC crew killing shit, but that came to a halt when vandal squad caught up with me.
Tumblr media
Oh shit, how long did they have you bagged for?
That was a long time ago and I only got community service for that case. I have been to jail for graffiti and it sucked. Sorry, but I really don’t want to talk about that part of graffiti. I feel underrated and hated on in the graffiti community. The hate and jealousy is real. If I was a bum broke toy I would be mad too. I just wish I got credit for some trends I started, like the whole collaborative fill-in collages on canvas in the 90’s. I used to always have a canvas on me and had good writers do their stamp fill-in for me. The next thing you know people realized it was a good idea. Better than a black book because you close the book and you cant see the work; the canvas is hanging.
Tumblr media
No worries, totally understandable. How often do you like rocking canvases?
24 hours, now 20 years later every writer does it. I do pieces on canvas once a month. I do a fill-in on canvas everyday. You could ask writers like KECH REC, HEILS MIA, KEVS MIA, SERF, MINT, if I’m telling the truth. Just like SERF and MINT started the whole vinyl sticker fill-in cut outs and never get credit. I’ve seen a lot of writers come and go; jock and bite styles, and I’m still here doing my thing.
Tumblr media
I believe you. You grew up in a different era with graffiti. Things are a lot different now then what they used to be. How many times have you ever caught somebody trying to bite off you or even your crew’s style?
I don’t mind people biting or using my ideas as influence, just show me love and respect. When I was a kid I always looked at RB, SCOPE2, MARS TNI and others. I bit and learned from them, and to this day I still show them love and respect. It’s hard to being a well-rounded graffiti artist. Learning all the letters, throwups, pieces, tags, block letters, how to bomb consistent, picking spots connecting with others, and doing piece walls. Now I think the computer is another element you have to learn to be a graffiti artist. Even the sticker game is part of it. If you’re a king you have to do it all and don’t stop doing it. There’s guys that pop up every five years and think they’re the shit. Take a hike, I’m out here 12 months a year risking it all for this sport.
Tumblr media
What other trends have you started?
Another trend I started was when I started writing JOE GOAL. I remember seeing one old-school guy write his name before his tag, but I went crazy with it. Next thing you know anybody with the name “Joe” was writing it in front of their tag. Then the entire New York side, and even some guy from Jersey shows the kid no love.
Where else outside of New York have you had the opportunity to paint?
I’ve been all over the United States; I’ve connected with some great people. LA was fun. I have graffiti family in Baltimore. My man CASPA HITS RTH… RTH crew is worldwide and I’m a huge part of the crew so I can go anywhere and have a place to stay with a tour guide. I’ve been to Europe, which was fun. I painted non-stop everyday. Right now there’s a dope scene in New Jersey. A lot of good writers are putting in work, and I like being a part of it. My young bull DRANE RTH helps me kill shit out there. If you do your homework on RTH crew you will see how big the gang is.
Tumblr media
That’s dope. Mad respect. What’s the highest you’ll go to hit something? Anything like highways signs?
The moon… I’ve done it all man and I’ll keep doing it. You gotta respect the art youngsters. Like in hockey you might be able to fight, but if you’ve never scored a goal you suck man. So in graff you can be a fake, immature, tough guy and try to impress people or you can act like a grown man and show your skills.
Tumblr media
What kind of rush do you get when you hit heaven spots?
I used to get super high on some crazy drugs, so that shit doesn’t really do much for me. On a bomb after my first fill-in for the night I feel open, like I have permission to kill shit no fear, but the first fill-in always has me shook.
Tumblr media
What type of freak things have you seen throughout your graffiti career?
Just some chases and bullshit. One time I was filming for my movie called “A Day in the Life” and I was rocking my fill-in on the street. A big silver stomper. As I’m spraying, a red laser beam is following my hand on the wall. The whole time I thought it was the camera. When I finished the fill I asked the cameraman about the red light and he said it wasn’t him. So I said, “Let’s hurry up, outline, and be out.” As I started to outline the red light came back. This time I followed it to a house across the street and got shook. The next thing I know there’s mad cops so I told the cameraman “Yo, go one way and I’ll go the other.” As the cops came down the wrong way on the street, I walk up to them and they ask to see my hands and my arm was covered in silver. So I started to jet, and made it three blocks. They hit me with the car, and beat me bad. I needed staples in my head and had a broken nose, but two weeks later I filmed for the movie. You can cop it online or go to it on Instagram.
What’s the biggest piece you’ve done to this day?
Tumblr media
That one’s in Staten Island, by the Wu-Tang projects.
Anyone you want to give a shout out to?
Shout out to OUCH MIA, Rest In Peace. Shout out to GN RTH RIP. Shout out to Michelle Emz for being so hot. Shout out to DG NWC, SPEK BTC, ODB Wu-Tang, Erik Garner, fuck all cops. Shout out to the homeless bum that rapped MAP. Shout out to all the hookers and sluts sucking dicks. Fuck all graffiti writers, you all suck and jock each other like homos. Guys who like guys go to other art shows for an autograph. I’m the greatest NYC kid in the game. No breaks, come suck a fart out of my ass.

Words Unsaid, My Worst Goodbye
THIS SONG MAKES SENSE :)
I wish there was another you, ‘nother way
And I just can’t find the words I should say
If I wanna tell you how I feel, how I feel
Without breaking all that we’ve made
But they say life goes on anyway
If things should change, oh yeah
Stuck in the same old melody, of misery
And don’t you remember
All of the times we spent late at night
We wasted our breath
We’re over and done with
I couldn’t see what you did to me
It’s not for the best
We’re over and done with
And I just can’t stay another night
The last thing that I ever wanted to do
Was to say goodbye to you
Tell me if it’s right or wrong, right or wrong
Staring at your pictures till the shadows fade
Acting like there’s nothing wrong, nothing wrong
What we had is slipping away
But they say life goes on anyway
If things should change, oh yeah
Stuck in the same old melody, of misery
And don’t you forget that
All of the times we spent late at night
We wasted our breath
We’re over and done with
I couldn’t see what you did to me
It’s not for the best
We’re over and done with
And I just can’t stay another night
The last thing that I ever wanted to do
Was to say goodbye to you
You say that I
I’m the one who’s changed
But I can’t keep on
Living life this way
You say that I
I’m the one who’s changed
Yeah…
To my friend who has always been there for me, Gomawo! Should I first reiterate the pains over the good ones? Hehe. It has just been a day and now, I am writing a letter containing infinite possibilities to happen. I cannot blame you for the choice you made. Quits ta ha? I respect your choice, at the same time, nagbuya ko and you let me. At first, I thought, you wouldn’t let me, but supportive ka katama. All I wanted to hear simo was, “Indi tani.” But it never came :( I was hurt by the fact nga buy-an mo mn ko, at the same time, now I know, I’ll never be anybody’s choice. It was almost three years na nga kilalahay ta hu, but I guess, du siempre, kilalahay ta japun eh, but the mere fact nga iba na tanan. You are a coward. I’d be willing to continue this tani despite nga masakitan ko, panindugan ko. For your sake, for my sake. I’d be willing to isantabi and be friends with you for a year and promise to leave you after para maka-go ka sa imo choice.. Sakit-sakit ni katama batyagon. You know what, I get drunk last night. I told myself before that 9 months ago will be the last time nga mainom ko. But how can I not? Very heavy balatyagon ko kgabi. I wanted to run to you, but I feel like you’ve already closed the doors. Yesterday was, like. Ok, halin sang una, baton ko man friends ta. But as the time goes by, naglibot kalibutan ko simo, which is bisan ako, I know, indi dpat. I wanna know tni if ano natabo if earlier plang, nagstop nko. You were always there kasi eh.. I don’t want to be the cause of someone’s heartbreak again ah. Go on with your choice, be happy. One day, I’ll look back diri kag kadlawon ko nalng ni. “SOMEDAY YOU’LL LOOK BACK AND ALL THIS PAIN IS GONNA BE INVISIBLE.”  Nmangkot ko man gni sa self ko of all ppl, why you? Just feel blessed ah :) You know what, everyday was a torture to me. I wanted to be there simo, maybe muna ko ka clingy kag attached simo. But honestly, I wanted to treat you just like how I treat manong Berns, josh, kag kung sin-o pa da nga malapit sakn. Honest to goodness, closest ta ka. Pero, balik man ta gihapon sa choice mo. I am not going to cling anymore ah, hold you back or even run towards you to persuade you back. From the very beginning, you know how much I hate people nga nabayaan ako, and what you did was binayaan mo gid man ko. The Choice was obviously the answer. Thankful lang ako somehow that we haven’t lied with each other. You know nga gapalagyo ko da, at the same time ikaw mn. However, I feel like wala mo ko gnconsider gd, and that you’ve thrown everything away. You’ve set me free. Wala ko kabalo kung ano man matabo in the next few months or years, but one thing is for sure, I may not be okay now, pero, someday :) I really missed everything, despite pila palang ka weeks. Mayo lng may mechatronics, we haven’t exchanged text messages lately. As for my decision nga buy-an ka, wla gid ko courage to tell you honestly, nevertheless, I just wanted to tell you one thing. “Continue to uphold your Christian Values :) Never get into temptations esp. sa girls stuff. Fight back! If ever nga may malain ka nga hinimo sang una, please, indi na pagliwata, change for the better ah. Don’t get yourself be drowned sa tempatations, and especially sa aggressive friends mo. Stand up kung ano ang tsakto. Don’t be easily swayed sa panandaliang saya :) “ I think of high regards gid simo bala, thank you for instilling sakn the Christian Values nga kinahanglan ko tun-an. They were some nga indi ko gd malimtan. :) I wanna say sorry to everyone who have gotten involved diri, esp. kay Lanz, sorry kag thank you gid sa iya, at least subong, makapahuway na sa advice sakn. I wanted to live up to the promise I made before him ‘til I can :) . It really pains me as I look back to what I’ve gone through the years with you. Bisan subong gahibi ko. I feel like I was shattered to pieces and I need to get them and puzzle them up before worse things happen. Regarding sa places we’ve been together, I hope, makavisit ta liwat and laugh at it nalng :) I might endure another year nga indi na prehu sang dati, but what is a year kung gna-enjoy mo diba? Makalet-go ko sa muni nga situation, I wish both of us maging happy man. :) Indi ko man maguarantee nga I would still know you someday, somehow, but I wish nga if mkita ko face mo, I’d squeeze it again kag makusi tka todo2 for leaving me behind. The plane is leaving na, go aboard and I wish you happiness and safe trip. Wala pmn ko sabat sa pamangkot mo whether nagregret ko or wala nga nkilala tka, Someday, for sure, mabal-an tagd sabat da. Goodbye Rana. Thank you for the memories! I’m leaving it up sa sky, take a look at it sometimes, I do hope you’d remember me, at least, we’re under the same blue sky. :)
I may not be able to make you happy na, but I promise to be your closest friend until the very end :) :)
