"Well Anthrax isn't better than Pantera, so yeah?" You nodded lightly, raising your eyebrows to reaffirm your statement.

Gareth shook his head, dropping his hands down to the cafeteria table. "No way. Are you dumb?"

You knew he didn't mean it like that, but it still hurt. You weren't the smartest in most classes. You gave it your all and barely stayed afloat. English was really the only class you excelled in due to the amount of time you'd spent reading as a child. "Yeah, I fucking guess." You stood abruptly, leaving your tray and Gareth at the table.

He knew as soon as the word left his mouth he'd screwed up, especially when the look of hurt that flashed across your face. He stood, calling after you. "Sugar, wait! That's not what I... meant." He sighed and plopped down, resting his head in his hands. "Son of a bitch."

"I can't believe you said that, dude." Jeff stated, shaking his head at his friend.

Gareth's shoulders shook with a single bitter chuckle as he looked over at his friend. "Yeah, me either."

You went the rest of the school day without talking to him, then after school you went straight home instead of going to Corroded Coffin's band practice. You had your nose in a history book, studying for your test Monday, when the phone rang. "Hello?"

"Hey, Sugar, I'm about to be on the way to pick you up for our date tonight." Gareth sounded a bit worried, like you were going to tell him no, which is basically what you did.

"Actually, Gare,"

Good, he thought, my nickname. Can't be too mad if they're using that.

"I have a huge history test Monday. Can't fail that. Trying to be less dumb."

You'd had a shitty time studying. You kept looking at the phone, wondering if he'd ever call you back, wondering if you'd been maybe a little too sensitive. You had closed the history book and were seconds away from grabbing the phone and dialing his number when the doorbell rang.

Gareth stood there, wondering if you'd answer the door. You were home alone after all. Answering the door when you weren't expecting anyone could be dangerous. He was deep in his thoughts when he heard you coming down the stairs.

You peeked through the peephole, seeing your boyfriend standing there with a brown paper bag and flowers. You opened the door, a small smile on your face. "What's this?" You asked, lacing your fingers together in front of you.

"An apology. I really shouldn't have said that, no matter if I didn't mean it or not. I know you do your best and I'm sorry that I hurt you." He was looking at you, sincerity on his face and in his words.

Je leeft heel erg mee met de personages. En de koppeltjes zijn te schattig. Het leuke aan deze serie is dat ze in elkaar overlopen en de karakters van eerdere boeken terugkomen in een kleinere rol. Dit deel gaat over Margot. Ik was erg benieuwd naar haar verhaal na 't lezen vd vorige delen. Wat zou haar verhaal zijn. Ik vind Olivia ook erg leuk. Het verhaal is erg humoristisch visueel en met een sexy #lgbtq tintje. Het koppel heeft veel chemie en zijn totaal verschillend en vullen elkaar fantastisch aan. Een erg leuke afsluiter van de serie. Wellicht wat voorspelbaar maar dit maakt het boek zeker niet minder leuk. Ik ben zeer benieuwd geworden naar deze schrijfster. Ga zeker meer van haar lezen. Bedankt Zomer & Keuning ............ In the video, Bell Hooks discusses how rap music perpetuates misogyny because of its profitability. Rap music introduces women as "sexually viable and desirable in most music videos" (Hooks 6:13 - 6:19). Therefore, music videos where women are displayed as sexual objects play major role in creating sexist stereotypes. Along these lines, the lyrics of many rap and hip-hop songs aid in creating these stereotypes. For instance, Black Beatles, a well known and popular song that blew up in the media, has lyrics like "[t]ook a bitch to the club and let her party on the table" or "I upgrade your baby mama to a condo" or "[s]he's a good teaser" (Sremmurd). Lyrics like these that portray women as sexual figures. Furthermore, by describing women as "bitch" or "baby mama", this song is reinforcing the claims that women are predominantly seen for what their bodies can give the world. Although the song is meant to explore party culture, the song only portrays women through a sexual and superficial lens; conversely, the men are not portrayed in this fashion, but rather they are described as a person who is enjoying the setting they are in. The difference in the way the men and women are described in the song further display the engraved misogyny in mainstream media.

Van beveiliging - althans zichtbaar - was nog geen sprake. Ik had er toen al vrienden gemaakt in een koffiecafé dat De Hook heette. De Hook is gesloopt, het restaurant op het terrein ook. Ook verder werd niet alles er beter op sinds die dag.

Johanman bejubelt zijn opvoeding in nieuwe afrobeat-song ‘Tjeba Tjeba’

Na een indrukwekkende terugkeer naar de hitlijsten met ‘Better Day’ en ‘ Rejoice’-twee solide tracks met muzikale buddy Jah Hands Baas, staat Johanman (Johan Seedo) alweer op het punt zijn derde release voor dit jaar te droppen. Het is ditmaal niet de reggae rocker, die we het beste kennen uit zijn dagen bij Reinforcement. De in Amsterdam wonende Surinaamse reggae legend, die in december weer op tournee is met Reinforcement in Suriname, kiest voor zijn nieuwe single ‘Tjeba Tjeba’ ook het voor hem tot dan nog compleet onbekende muzikale pad, de nu zo razendpopulaire amapiano beat. ‘Tjeba Tjeba’ is zoals de titel doet vermoeden een vrolijk en beweeglijk nummer, maar dan keurig voorzien van de voor Johanman zo kenmerkende boodschappen met positieve lading. En toch is ‘ Tjeba Tjeba ‘een meer bij de tijdse benadering met een voor Johanman compleet nieuwe muzikale inslag. This is how it goes for us, putting stuff on the walls:

Me: Okay, this is where I'm going to drill the hole. Once I drill the hole, that's it. I cannot move it. Are you sure?

Me: Okay. *Drills hole, mounts decoration*

Spouse: Hm.... it needs to be a little bit higher. Can you move it up just a bit?

Me: No. No, I cannot. This is where it's mounted. I cannot move the hole.*

Me: I really don't want to do that, but okay. we just have to use the existing hooks and mounts, no new drilling.

Me: *sighs* Can we maybe go with an approach that doesn't try to get different size and shaped decorations at the same height when our ceilings aren't level? and not constantly be moving things around?

Yes, I am aware of Ook and 3M hangers. Neither are strong enough for some of our wall hanging, the Ook ones do still leave a hole, and I emphatically do not trust the adhesive stuff for any weight at all, and certainly nothing that might break if it falls.
