Elizabeth (and Robert) in my OT3 verse - some facts.
They absolutely still meet as children - one thing in this verse is that Anne (and to an extent Henry) are commented on as very involved in raising their children - they actually live in the same places, spend a lot of time with them etc in private so the kids are at court and they have more playmates (I did actually base this on some of the historical royal families).
I think Robert may have been technically a companion to Elizabeth’s younger brother Thomas but because he’s more Elizabeth’s age they gravitated together (I want to say they are maybe six/seven when they meet but I’d have to check that.
The main conflict here is actually - Elizabeth’s worry about what Robert might think of the two dads thing and also, honestly her feeling that maybe it’s better to not marry for love (at one point she hears about Jane Seymour and puts it together with her vague toddler memories and what could have happened (which in this world for her mostly means ‘divorce or profoundly miserable as husband takes mistresses) and thinks hey, at least if it’s arranged then I’m not going to get hurt + I get to be Queen.
(All the children get a choice in who they marry but they do entertain marriage offers and this Elizabeth, the Elizabeth who is always a beloved Princess, whose godmother is KOA (among others) is absolutely getting offers - also she’s intelligent, charming and good looking.
Like I’m fairly sure she has a conversation with all three of her parents at some point. And her (happily married) older sister Mary. And hey, her maternal grandparents! (Which is inspired by @theladyelizabeth fic)
Obviously Jane Grey does not happen. Or rather, her father attempts to make her Queen via marrying her to Prince Thomas but John Dudley is not here for that because there is absolutely no need - he’s getting one son married to a Princess, he’s on the privy council, this is honestly super great (because I wanted to give Jane and Guilford a happy ending).
(Although Jane’s mother is not Duchess of Suffolk because her brothers live but still).
I have to figure out the kids godparents.
Listen Tom Cromwell and John Dudley are really good friends in this universe.
Robert, after their marriage builds Kennilworth and designs the gardens himself obviously. And then, then after Mihrimah Sultan comes he almost certainly redesigns it to add a hamam and Ottoman influences.
Mihrimah gave him at least three Ottoman horses and he DIED of happiness.
He and Prince Thomas bonded over the mutual love of dogs and later on, when Thomas was King they actually co-founded one of the first dog rescue orgs in England.
His favourite child was his oldest Anne.

A theater company born out of the pandemic will soon start rehearsals for its first mainstage production of 2023. On May 25, The Legacy Theatre will debut the world premiere of “Masters of Puppets,” a riveting drama by Laurence Davis that explores the dirty underbelly of professional wrestling.
A brief history
The aptly-named Legacy Theatre was one of the few companies producing shows following the first full year of the COVID-19 lockdown, according to Managing Director Jeff Provost. Before they set up shop in the former Stony Creek Playhouse — a historic haunt of Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre Players — Legacy staged productions at the nearby Stony Creek Museum and outdoors on the Guilford and Branford greens.
Co-Founders Keely Baisden Knudsen and Stephanie Stiefel Williams spearheaded the company’s renovation of the playhouse while preserving its “fabled history,” Provost said. And while audiences were slow to return amid pandemic-era restrictions, the theater’s production mix proved successful.
“Keely has made a commitment since Day One to do at least one new play as part of our mainstage series,” Provost said. “It really tells you how daring and willing we are as a theater company to explore new ideas and works onstage.”
‘Masters of Puppets’
Davis’ work follows a husband and wife (played by Kurt Fuller of CBS’s “Evil” and Amanda Detmer of Fox’s “Empire”) who are “the masters” of a large-scale wrestling organization, Provost said. The couple engage in a power struggle with an executive from the professional sports network (played by Dana Ashbrook of Showtime’s “Twin Peaks”) over who’s pulling the proverbial strings.
“There’s always been questions as to what’s real and what’s fake in the world of wrestling, and those questions continue to this day,” Provost said. “This piece explores the topic in a really thought-provoking way. It’s a gritty, no-holds-barred approach to the subject matter.”
“Masters of Puppets” comes to the Legacy stage via James Roday Rodriguez (of ABC’s “A Million Little Things”), who will assist Legacy behind the scenes as a producer. Rodriguez and Knudsen grew up together; they performed alongside each other in middle school and eventually studied together as undergraduate students at New York University. Director Gabe McKinley was at NYU with them as well.
Provost explained that Rodriguez initially intended to produce the show with a theater company out in Los Angeles, but then COVID hit. Rodriguez connected with Knudsen about debuting “Puppets” at Legacy, and the rest, they say, is history.
“All of these connections and relationships that James has in the industry will play out really beautifully in this production,” Provost added. “The actors know each other very well and already have that base established.”
The world premiere of “Masters of Puppets” debuts at The Legacy Theatre on Thursday, May 25, at 7 p.m. Performances run through June 11, with shows on Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Anxiety and Stress by Susan Lark: Advice for Coping with Anxiety from the 1990s Popular Psychology Text in Archives & Special Collections
This blog post was written by Taylor Brooks, a student employee in Archives & Special Collections.
I am a Psychology/ Social Work major and I chose to write about this topic because it hits close to home for me. As a student, anxiety levels can increase, so I wanted to bring some light to this topic and help give ways to cope with it.
Anxiety is something that most people deal with at some point in their lives. Anxiety can mean a person is in a state of being uneasy, apprehensive, or worried. The feeling of anxiety can often make a person feel that they are powerless in a situation. It is one of the most inevitable parts of life. There are many different types of anxiety, according to the Diagnostic Statistics Manual-3 (DSM), including social anxiety, generalized anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and many others.

In the 1993 book Anxiety and Stress by Susan Lark, held by Archives & Special Collections, Lark explains some of the risk factors of anxiety. “These include physiological imbalance, genetic factors, family programming, major long and short-term life stresses, and personal belief systems.” Self-evaluation can help people become aware of possible risk factors based on lifestyle habits, as well as the existence of health problems that can trigger anxiety symptoms.
Lark goes over many ways you can better your anxiety. In her book, she shows how eating healthier foods can play a role in preventing and relieving anxiety and stress. Breathing exercises help because you are getting more oxygen into your body and allowing your body to regulate itself. If you do breathing exercises while having a panic attack it can help, give you something else to focus on and be able to calm down. Physical exercise can help “discharge physical and emotional tension that accompanies a vigorous session of exercise directly and immediately reduces anxiety and stress.”

Currently in 2022 the CDC estimates 9.4 percent of children, ages 3-17, have been diagnosed with anxiety. Anxiety symptoms are common in all children at various times and circumstances. Anxiety interferes with cognitive processing. “It is possible that a child or adolescent might be miserable and show significant social maladjustment but maintain acceptable school performance.”

Bevo Francis Award Top 25 Watch List Announced
2024 Bevo Francis Top 25 Watch List Announced
Kansas City, MO – The National Awards Committee and Small College Basketball are happy to announce the Bevo Francis Top 25 Watch List for the 2023-24 season. The Top 25 Watch List consists of some of the top players from the NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, USCAA, and NCCAA. With the amount of talented players and phenomenal seasons across all of these levels, the National Award Committee continues to have the difficult task of narrowing the list down. John McCarthy discussed this years Top 25 list:
"Congratulations to the 25 players that have made this prestigious Bevo Francis Award Watch List,” stated McCarthy. “This is a list of the elite of the elite in college basketball at the small college
levels, based on our criteria. I am very grateful to our committee members, as they have provided great insight and information."
2024 marks the eighth year of the Bevo Francis Award. Past winners include Dominez Burnett of Davenport University in 2016, Justin Pitts of Northwest Missouri State University in 2017, Emanuel Terry of Lincoln Memorial University in 2018, Aston Francis of Wheaton College in 2019, Kyle Mangas of Indiana Wesleyan University in 2020 and Trevor Hudgins of Northwest Missouri State University in 2022. In 2023, RJ Sunahara of Nova Southeastern was named the winner of the Bevo Francis Award. The award was not presented during the 2021 season.
The Clarence “Bevo” Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements. This is an incredibly prestigious award, as this award will only be given to one player within Small College Basketball
per season.
Next up on April 5th, the finalists of this year’s award will be announced. The Bevo Francis Award winner will be announced on April 8th .

2024 Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List Announced
Kansas City, MO – Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee are pleased to announce the Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List for the 2023-24 season. After the Top 100 Watch List was announced on January 15 th, 2024, the National Awards Committee had the difficult task of narrowing the list down to the Top 50. The Top 50 Watch List is made up of some of the best players across the NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA. John McCarthy touched on the this years Top 50 list:
"Congratulations to all 50 players on the Bevo Francis Award Watch List,” mentioned McCarthy. “This is an incredible honor, as this represents 50 players out of approximately 13,000 - 16,000
players that are competing at the small college levels. Each player is in the midst of an outstanding season, both individually and as a team. I am very grateful to our SCB National Awards Committee
for such tremendous input on this list."
The Clarence “Bevo” Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and
individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements. This is an incredibly prestigious award, as this award will only be given to one player within Small College Basketball
per season.
2024 marks the eighth year of the Bevo Francis Award. Past winners include Dominez Burnett of Davenport University in 2016, Justin Pitts of Northwest Missouri State University in 2017, Emanuel Terry of Lincoln Memorial University in 2018, Aston Francis of Wheaton College in 2019, Kyle Mangas of Indiana Wesleyan University in 2020 and Trevor Hudgins of Northwest Missouri State University in 2022. In 2023, RJ Sunahara of Nova Southeastern was named the winner of the Bevo Francis Award. The award was not presented during the 2021 season.
On March 15th, the Top 25 players will be announced. On April 5, the finalists of this year’s award will be announced, followed by the Bevo Francis Award winner being crowned on April 8.
