“Those two are always up to something, I swear. It’s so  troublesome,” one old age vampire muttered, complaining about you and your vampire Master to the person standing besides her outside of the ballroom circle. She adjusted her masquerade mask, put off by the sight of you downing a glass full of expensive wine. “Why the council ever decided to allow humans to attend our annual blood balls is beyond me.”
“They always cause a scene,” the other old age vampire agreed, turning his head to watch as you whimsically made your way across the dance floor in your heavy laced dress, taking the hand of any vampire that wanted to dance with you, while your Master watched from the side with growing annoyance. “It’s unsightly.”
“Yes, it’s completely inappropriate, the way they act like they’re the main characters inside some overdone fictional novel,” she scoffed, the vampiress getting herself worked up over nothing, her fingers clenching around her own wine glass filled with a blood blend.
“You hit the nail on the head,” the man nodded, one hand on his hip, the other tilting his wine glass back to drink down its bloody contents, watching you trade one dance partner for another, surprised that you were letting a new age vampire get so handsy with you. “Oh, here we go.”
Seonghwa reached up to brush at his flowy raven hair in a frustrated manner, his furrowed brows and scrunched-up face not doing much to dispel your current goal in pissing off your Master in hopes that he would chase you across the castle grounds and fuck you into oblivion. “You’re asking for it, little lamb…” he mumbled to himself, the bright red hue in his eyes growing brighter by the second.
“I didn’t realize you were interested in me, Miss Y/N. Care to forget about your sour, old age counterpart over there and spend the night with me?” the charming, feline-like vampire you were using whispered into your ear, holding your body impossibly close to his as you both slowly rotated together in timed circles according to the flow of the orchestra music that was playing throughout the large ballroom.
“Oh, Mr. Choi, try not to puff out your chest just yet,” you murmured back with faux pity, clasping your fingers around his cheeks, feeling his fingers inch closer and closer to your ass, able to feel the fiery gaze of your lover from afar. “You’re simply a puppet for my amusement.”
The vampire scoffed, still finding it inside himself to twirl you around and bring you back into his arms, his fingers clasping around your waist a little tighter than before, clearly irritated. “That’s quite rude of you, human. You could’ve lied.”
“Does it matter? I’m not trying to impress you,” you huffed, eyeing Seonghwa out of the corner of your vision, noticing the way he clutched the edge of the aged mahogany table being used to showcase various blood-filled desserts. Just as the vampire was about to speak up, you shook your head, silencing him. “Just hurry up and grab my ass, will you? And grab it hard. I want Seonghwa to–Oh!”
The peeved vampire did indeed get a handful, his fingers sinking deep into your squishy flesh through your dress, leaning over your shoulder to make eye contact with Seonghwa, who was fuming, still having the gall to stick his tongue out at him.
An intoxicating mix of anger and arousal coursed through Seonghwa to the point that it all spilled out of him at once, resulting in a short, aggressive shout, the other patrons looking over their own shoulders to see what was going on. Sadly, they weren’t very surprised to watch him lift up the side of the heavy dessert table and toss it across the room with a frightening amount of ease, narrowly missing the heads of the orchestra members.
You let go of San who quickly scampered away, not wanting to feel the vampire lord’s intense wrath. You, however, took pride in seeing the way your lover was seething, how he pierced you with his dark crimson eyes and delightfully suffocating pheromones alone, his white, elongated fangs already on display for you, knowing he wished he could just sink them directly into the most delicate parts of your body.
“Why are you so angry, my love?” you called out to him with faux naivety, giving him a pout, motioning to the mess that had spilled onto the sheer marble floor. “You ruined all those lovely desserts.”
“And almost took the head off of a violin player, but I digress,” the older vampire from before murmured to her friend, the both of them chortling softly to themselves.
“Oh, you know what you’ve done, darling,” Seonghwa tsked from across the room, taking slow, deliberate steps in your direction, his high-heeled shoes clacking lightly against the pristine floor, most of the other patrons stepping out of his way. “I have a question for you. Do you know what happens to pretty things that disobey their Masters?”
You brought your hand up to lift off your masquerade mask just in time for Seonghwa to stand directly in front of you, his lean, elegant frame towering over yours. “I’m unaware of the answer, dearest. Do pray tell.” Your face twisted into something that could only be described as smug. Seonghwa wanted to wipe that expression off your face and turn it into something more worthwhile — flushed, contorted with a lovely mix of pain and pleasure, and painted in his cum.
“They get punished, my sweet. So, I suggest you hike up that lovely dress I bought you and get to running.”
࿏࿏࿏
There was something so exhilarating about having the love of your life chase after you, knocking over furniture and pushing other vampires out of the way just to get his hands on you. You would look back occasionally, catching glimpses of the hazy blood-lust in Seonghwa’s eyes, resulting in a fresh wave of slick between your thighs.
Somewhere along the line, you had ended up in the castle garden, your bare feet hitting the soft grass, having lost your heels during your chaotic trek there. Panting softly, your breath hitting the cold night air, you realized you were surrounded by chipping marble statues of vampires of the past, a maze of blood-red roses covered in thorns surrounding a sleek stone gazebo, and thousands of constellations sitting in the dark sky above you.
“Caught you, little lamb…” you heard in a deep, gravelly voice, shivers making their way up your spine. Seonghwa took slow steps near you, finding it amusing how you trapped yourself in a corner, his entire being pulsing with sexually-charged aggression. “But you wanted this, didn’t you? You want me to have my way with you, don’t you, sweetheart?”
Rather than replying verbally, you simply held up the front of your dress, showing off your plump, slicked-up cunt for his viewing pleasure, your lips twisted up into a perverted smile, lust practically emanating from your form. “What do you think, my love? Does my wet cunt give you any hints?”
Before you knew it, Seonghwa had you pinned to the side of the gazebo, one hand on your shoulder to keep you still with his immense strength and the other underneath your hiked-up skirt, fucking you deep with two agile fingers, not concerned with the occasional passerby, some of them slowing down to witness the titillating sight of a vampire lord punishing his human counterpart.
“I can feel you squeezing around my fingers, sweet. Is my poor little lamb already falling apart for me?” he asked with faux pity against your neck, sucking your soft flesh into his mouth to leave a mark, piercing them lightly with his fangs. “Is it because anyone can come by and see the way I have my hand up your skirt and hear the pretty little moans that you’re making for your darling?”
“N-ooo, it’s because it’s you, Seonghwa,” you sighed out softly, a familiar heaviness filling your core until your legs went wobbly, moaning from the feeling of Seonghwa gulping down just enough of your life source to make you pleasantly dizzy, his fingers still slipping in and out of your leaking cunt.
“Mm, it’s a pity though. I wish San knew just how quick I can make your pretty cunt leak all these juices onto me,” he purred against your soft skin, slurping your arousal from his fingers before cupping his palm onto your hot cunt, lightly moving it over your clit, knowing he was pleasuring you just enough to make you squirm, but aware that your much-needed orgasm had faded away due to his control.
He brought his still dripping fingers up to your mouth, pleased that you obediently sucked your own slick off of them, his gaze flitting between your lips and love-struck eyes. “He’ll never see you like this. See the way you need me in every possible way I can have you…”
“It’s only for you to see, my love,” you replied lovingly, pressing your lips onto his, drawing Seonghwa into you like a moth to a blazing flame.
You shared a series of frenzied, heated kisses that consisted too much of tongue, teeth, and fangs, your hand slipping into Seonghwa’s loosened satin trousers to swiftly jerk him off, his abundant pre-cum squishing in between your closed fingers, your quick, unrelenting grip causing him to wobble a bit, the thick edges of his heeled shoes sinking further into the grass below. “Feels so good, doesn’t it, Hwa? You’re so hard for me, throbbing, leaking so much…”
“Fuck–I need you, darling, need you bare for me, need your pretty mouth around my cock,”Seonghwa groaned out onto your lips, nipping at it enough to get a small taste of iron on his own crimson stained ones. Without a word, he tore your dress from your body, pearls falling from your broken necklace and landing around your feet. You gasped. He clasped his hands around your corseted waist, bringing your face near your neck, his lips just barely touching your skin. “On your knees, my love.”
You melted to the floor, reaching up to hold onto his hips, watching his cock spring out once his pants past his v-line, eventually holding it in front of your drooling mouth. You studied him, your eyes traveling up his shiny, curved length to his pronounced pink head, sticking your tongue out to catch a drop of his pre-cum on your tongue. “It’s so pretty, Hwa…”
“I know it is, sweetheart. Now, open up,” he exhaled softly, slipping his slender fingers into your soft hair to clutch the sides of your head, plugging your mouth up with his thick cock.
Seonghwa fucked your face so quickly, so sloppily, so desperately, he reached his end in a matter of minutes, bringing you down onto his cock until your nose pressed into his pelvis, feeling your throat contracting around him. “Fuck, you drive me mad, darling…I’m already about to cum….”
It was when he was able to smell the endless slick that dripped out of your needy cunt, that Seonghwa pulled out, rubbing his cockhead across your lips and smearing his pre-cum across your face, ruining the perfect state of your makeup. “You look so pretty, my love, but I know how to make you look even more divine for me…”
“Enlighten me, my dear,” you sighed lovingly, licking the warm saltiness from your lips.
“Watch closely. This is all for you, darling…” Seonghwa gazed down at you with his crimson, hooded eyes, his chest rising and lowering with shallow breaths, using his closed hand to milk his flushed cock, seemingly endless splashes of cum landing onto your face. “Mm, what do you think San would think of you now, little lamb? Think of your lovely face painted with my cum?”
“He’d think I was a mess,” you mused, licking the bitter milkiness from your swollen lips, opening your mouth to take one last spurt of cum onto your tongue when Seonghwa moaned wantonly, his fingers squeezing near the pinkish tip. “He’d know I’m yours.”
“My mess, my beautiful darling. Of course he’d know you’re mine. All mine,” Seonghwa sighed dreamily, lowering himself to his knees to pull you in for a deep kiss, your tongues and lips meeting with fervent need.
“You think he’d enjoy watching you fuck me into ecstasy?” you asked in between heavy breaths and kisses, hooking your thighs around his bare waist, slipping your hands onto the bare skin of his chest past his loose blouse, your fingers grazing his nipples.
“I’d take off his head, before I’d let him watch the way your cunt stretches open for me,” Seonghwa groaned, groping down your body, rubbing two fingers against your slippery folds, his fangs returning to your neck, this time indulging his instincts and slipping inside you, resulting in soft throes of pleasure from the both of you. “Speaking of, your little cunt needs my cock, doesn’t it? Is that why you’re so wet?”
“Yes, please, I can’t stand being empty any longer, my love,” you whined to him, your squelching cunt already beginning to clench around his thrusting fingers, wishing his cock was filling you up instead.
“You won’t be able to cum with just my fingers, will you, darling? Because your lovely body is only accustomed to my cock, isn’t it? Made for it, hm?” Seonghwa continued to tease you with his words, curling his digits inside you, resulting in increasingly heavy moans from his one and only, encouraging him to fuck you faster with them. “Fuck, you’re clenching so hard around me, darling. You’re so good for me…”
“Oh–my god, so close…”
“Yeah? You want to spill your cum all over me, Y/N? Make a mess of me?” Seonghwa encouraged breathily, his forehead pressed to yours, pressing his lips against yours in between moans.
“Y–esss…”
Just as you were about to cum, you were suddenly filled with a devastatingly empty feeling, realizing he had pulled his fingers out and brought them to his mouth, sucking your vast amounts of slick off of them. “N-no, please, Seonghwa, I want to cum…!”
“You’ll have to cum on my cock, sweetheart. Now, be good and take it,” he replied softly, his voice devoid of pity, the ridged edge of his cock hooking onto your clit and making you jolt, before he slipped inside you inch by inch, sending you back into a pleasurable fog. “I’ll breed you until you’re full for me.”
“So full, I’m so full, darling.” You hooked your arms around his neck, holding him impossibly close, his lips already attached to your neck again, shuddering against him as he drank down your life-source, his cock offering your cunt a delicious stretch each time he pounded into you. “So good, Hwa, it feels so good…”
“Because we were made for each other, my love, our souls always intertwined, forever, you’ll always be mine,” Seonghwa reminded you in between pants and soft moans, his raven hair already plastered to his forehead with sweat, love and admiration seeping its way through his lust-struck gaze, kneading his hands into your thighs, your warm, sopping-wet cunt enveloping his cock so tightly, he couldn’t keep himself from unloading wave after wave of his hot cum inside you, so deeply it reached your womb. “Fuck, you’re milking my cock, darling, just take it all, take it all for me…”
You couldn’t say anything, only letting out a near soundless whine, clutching the back of Seonghwa’s head, never breaking eye contact as you experienced what could only be described as pure bliss, your bodies and hearts melting together. “I love you, Seonghwa, so much,” you finally got out, your voice barely above a whisper.
“I love you too, Y/N, more than you’ll ever know,” he replied just as softly, barely caressing your face, like he was afraid you would shatter into a thousand pieces and fall away from his grasp. Seonghwa was completely flushed, his long raven hair now a mess, sticking to his sweaty face, his plush lips a deep red. “Now do you see what you do to me, darling?”
You nuzzled into him, your heart beating against his quiet one, the cool night breeze gracing your warm, joined skin, knowing you wouldn’t have it any other way. “I think I have an idea.”

Reactions to Miracle Creator's Chapter 154
TL;DR - Background info of Sichuan. Poor Number 7. Cale raids Blue Merchant Guild's building.
Soos? LSH = ❌ CJS = ✅
Background Info of Sichuan Early part of this chapter was info dump. To summarize, Sichuan was known for it weapon production. It was a haven for blacksmiths. Because the Tang Clan of Sichuan specialized in hidden weapons, they highly valued blacksmiths.
And finally, I figured out the correct translation of that Iron Family Manor something. It's actually Iron Street Place! It's neither a manor nor have a family attached. It's literally a place. But it's like a company that contracts blacksmiths to forge and supply weapons to the Evil Faction. Can't exactly call it a workshop because the Korean words for "workshop" and "street place" are different.
Poor Number 7 This short part was hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣 Number 7 has mastered the art of fainting... He has seizure-like trembling whenever he sees CH, and automatically faints before CH could even knock him out... 😂
And when he heard that he was being passed to a murim person, he was relieved. But when he saw that it was Pinnacle Demon, he cursed Cale's group and even wished to just die already... 🤣🤣🤣 Unfortunately, Pinnacle Demon said that killing him was a waste, so poor Number 7 fainted upon hearing that. RIP Number 7 😂
The Raid Begins There was some flashback about Cale's conversation with Jegal Mi Ryeo regarding the Kunlun School Leader, but I won't talk about that because it's just politics and stuff. Moving on, Cale stops in front of the Blue Merchant Guild building, and orders the two Chois to subdue the gatekeepers. And Cale himself destroys the gate with the whip he got from Eruhaben.... This reminds me, I should stop being lazy and just draw Cale with whip fanart, hahaha.
Ending Remarks Still no sight of a Blood Cult member, but Cale makes the first move against them! Perhaps we'll get introduced to new characters next week... ahahaha. 🥲 I guess the character list in my murim spreadsheet will be growing again.

The Other S-Ranks who were in the Fiend Guild
Tumblr media
So there are a total of ten Korean S-Ranks, but Cha Hae-In and Sung Jin-Woo weren't S-Ranks yet. Lim Tae-Gyu was the guild master, with Baek Yoon-Ho being one of the three S-Ranks, so the two other S-Ranks had to have come from the six remaining hunters
Go Gun-Hee helped established the ranking system and Association, which was after realizing he was too old to fight, so he wouldn't have helped create a guild
Choi Jong-In awakened six years after the gates appeared according to his dossier, which is three years after the guild was founded, so he couldn't have been one of the S-Ranks in the Fiend Guild
Hwang Dong-Soo is said to be the eighth S-Rank (so after Jong-In) and awakened long after his brother did, so he couldn't have been there in the beginning either
Not much is known about Ma Dong-Wook, but if he did the same thing as Baek Yoon-Ho, something would have been said about that as well
So that means that Eun-Seok and Min Byung-Gyu must have been the remaining two S-Ranks, which would explain why Tae-Gyu's the only S-Rank in Fiend now, despite them not saying what happened to the other S-Ranks because Yoon-Ho left, Eun-Seok's gone, and Byung-Gyu retired
And all four of them actually seem pretty close, but I'll get to that later in Lim Tae-Gyu's analysis
Just wanted to clear things up for myself. Picture is from Baek Yoon-Ho's dossier

Shadow Monarch! Cha Hae In
Destruction Monarch! Sung Jin Woo
Here are the headcanons!:
Cha Hae In loves her shadows a lot
She loves them to death (haha pun)
If it follows the same path as the storyline of SL:
In the start Cha Hae In was a simple girl that wanted to make the best out of her life, although the world never gave her the option to be a winner.
She still tried nonetheless, however the thrill in her life almost died out when she no longer could fulfill that dream of being an athlete.
Then she awakened!
As an E rank...
And just once again she suffered the same consequences of not being able to find a passion, not being able to excell at anything, being a simple person among the crowd.
However she had another curse. Her nose was very sensitive, and almost every rank around her would smell awful to her. Her B rank friend would be the worst, so she used to wear a lot of mask around her face, and coming back bruised from a dungeon yet again every time.
Since Hae In had almost no good reason in her life to live out in life, apart from working as an employee here and there she would sometimes go on dungeons to make some money.
She came out injured every time, sometimes to the point that death, but at the same time, it always drew her in.
A call from a void. A glimmer of hope to think that one day, one day she might be strong enough to face someone, experienced enough to do so.
One day she met Byung Gyu, the B rank healer again as they were getting ready to fight another gate. He nagged her for being so careless in coming back again. She was used to it by now. It was obvious this would happen time and time again.
It was always the formula of coming back from the brink of death, then going back inside.
But she died this time
And then she came back to life.
Thus obtaining new powers that made her out to be something. To be someone. She could finally feel like a person, experience a thrill. It finally felt as tho the universe had let her win, just for once.
.
I like to imagine that she gets Esil as a shadow soldier. Heejin the B rank mage too like as she goes through the red gate she kind of dies somewhere along the battle. Hae In resurrects her and they keep fighting again. Like Esil would take the place of Igris. Heejin the place of Iron.
Maybe Yoo Jin Ho is an S rank here, vice guild master of the Ahjin guild! Most popular guild ever known!
And Choi Jong In here is a D rank mage that Hae In protected during the lizards arc. They get along very well.
Lee Ju Hee is the S rank guildmaster of White Cloud Guild, who tends to get along with the vice and guild master of the Ahjin guild since she operates in Busan while Ahjin works in Seoul so there is a clear line as to what part of land to protect belongs to who.
Kang Tae Shik was one of the survivors of the Double Dungeon, and trains in the same place where the president of Ahjin guild trains.
Mr Kim Sangshik is the retired S rank healer.
Idk about the rest if they change honestly.
.
Anyways Jin Woo had been given the power ever since he was faced with constant death and survival for his family four years ago. Since them it took him a longer time for the destruction Monarch to fit his vessel in a perfect shape, so he had 3 years to become an s rank, where as because Hae In was almost a right fit for Ashborn, and she had less time to worry about others and more about herself, she could was grinding her power really fast to the surprise of everyone.
And then the unexpected happens.
Hae In gets to finally see the president of the Ahjin guild. She is dumbstruck, love stuck too.
When she hides as a miner and gets caught by him she also learns that he doesn't smell at all! How come? Who could he be?!
Whereas Jin Woo is also impressed with her kneen sense, and the dark shadow that looms around her. He has a feeling that she will be interesting in the future, so as Hae In gets back to work as a miner, Jin Woo places a small eye on her from afar.
And the next day he goes after her when he heard she took the job as a porter (what is she? Naive? Foolish?)
His eyes trace the fights of the golems, some techniques done by a sword that seemed to cut meat like it was grass.
Than he lays eyes on her, Queen of the Underworld around her feet. Fighting amongst the shadows with such graze.
She looks like the figure of pale death that isn't brutal or unforgiving, that isn't terror or the constant dread.
She portrays the death that is the eternal sleep, the gentle carrier away from all pain and eternally calm.
Cha Hae In is the embodiment of Death in its purest form.
And Sung Jin Woo is the embodiment of Destruction in that can only be stopped by such a calm death.

Solo Leveling AU! Choi Jong-in and Cha Hae-in as half-siblings through Antares!
Tumblr media
Once, Antares fell in love with a mortal woman and in his normal disguise, he managed to charm her and soon got her pregnant. Shocked upon learning it, Antares chose to leave her by making an excuse that he must fly to another country for a business trip and promised that he'd come back. Little did the woman know, it was a lie coated in sweet words.
Nine months later, the woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who had red hair just like his biological father. The woman felt her heart shatter at the sight of the hair color because it became a stark reminder of the man who had made her heart flutter in thousands of ways.
Sure, the woman wanted to love her son more than anything, but it appeared her love was not enough to erase the traces of her baby's biological father. Now, Jong-in grew up under his nanny's care while his mom was a busy woman who hardly spent a day with him due to her work.
His mom never missed his birthdays and other special occasions in his life, so Jong-in was happy. But what he couldn't grasp was how other kids had lots of memories with their parents whereas he, having only a mother, felt completely out of place. He wondered where his father could be, yet his mom always refused to answer.
Going back to Antares, the Destruction Monarch had once again fell in love with a woman. She was a master at taekwondo and also an athlete. Her skills made him impressed. However, unlike his first woman, Antares felt quite challenged at the blondie beauty — she was not easy to be swayed despite being soft-hearted and was always busy.
After a few more attempts, Antares finally got the woman to go out with him. They'd mainly spend dinners together. And eventually, Antares got her pregnant; he was joyful when he learned that he was becoming a father.
Unfortunately, with his duties as a Monarch being called, Antares had to leave his lover behind. But when he came back after one earth year, he discovered that his lover was now engaged to someone else, along with a little girl who was likely his. Enraged and betrayed, Antares decided to disappear from earth for good.
Cha Hae-in was born to a loving family. Her mother was a sportswoman and her father was a literature professor. But little did she know, there was a secret her mother was hiding from her and that secret was about her biological father.
A few years passed, and when gates began showing up, Jong-in and Hae-in instantly awakened as S-Rank hunters. Not just by fate, rather by their inhumane genes that had also given them innate powers. Choi Jong-in, who had inherited his father's flames, and Cha Hae-in, who had inherited her father's unrivaled determination for battle.
They worked under the same guild together. Jong-in's mother had long passed away before the gates arrived and Hae-in's parents had been killed during the first invasion of monsters.
And somewhere in the dimensional gaps, Antares felt a strong connection that was directed to his children, which meant that they had gotten their awakening. His lips tugged into a grin. He was the first and only Monarch to pass his genes to a new life — not one, but two. The Dragon Monarch has two successors.
How did he tell them? Simple, Antares came to earth and instead of clashing with Jin-woo, he teleported himself to the places where his children were battling the monsters. And for the first time, he witnessed how powerful they had become, and he couldn't be prouder. It was like he was seeing himself in two different humans.
Jong-in was the first one to notice him. "You! You're— you're that—"
"Your father." Antares said to him.
Jong-in stood in both bewilderment and shocked.
And not long after, Antares caught something that was heading toward him. He looked at the corner of his eye and saw a familiar force. He immediately blocked the sword with his hand and faced the furious eyes of none other than his daughter.
"You fight good, daughter," he told her.
Hae-in almost tripped from her balance at those words.
To prove himself that he was indeed their father, Antares released his mana and summoned theirs where all three of their mana matched together like mirrors.
Now, everything dawned on the two hunters. Jong-in realized why his mom refused to answer him about his father and why she was frequently avoiding him when he was a child. Hae-in thought the man who raised her was her father, but no, he was actually her stepfather.
After a while, Antares made a deal with the hunters. He would cease the war under one condition: he was going to take his children with him.
Many of the hunters protested, especially from the Hunters Guild, and Jin-woo, who had arrived in the scene just in time, was willing to fight the Destruction Monarch until the end. However, Jong-in and Hae-in stepped up and gave in. They were going with their father.
And of course, being the Guild Master and the Vice Master, Jong-in and Hae-in knew they must do what they thought was best, and that included leaving everyone behind. Jong-in entrusted Tae-gyu, Dong-wook, and Yoon-ho to take his guild members. And Jin-woo, who still wouldn't want to surrender, watched in disdain. Hae-in had to walk toward him and say that everything would be fine, that she would be fine.
Jin-woo didn't say anything else as he was too hurt to know that his friend was a child of his biggest enemy. Though, that wouldn't change the way he saw her anyway, it was just that seeing her leave was more painful.
True to his words, all of the remaining monsters had turned into dust when Antares took his children to his realm.
Jong-in, knowing that he must light up the atmosphere a bit for Hae-in, said: "well, would you look at that! Who knew my second-in-command is actually the sister I never thought I would have?" The corner of Hae-in's mouth twitched. Their friendship was one thing, but finding out they were related was a whole different thing.
Sure, he may be contented with Hae-in as his half-sister, but Jong-in felt hatred against Antares, who was his father in the entire time and had not once showed up where he needed a parent. On the other hand, Hae-in felt neutral about her true father, though she felt bad for Jong-in, who practically yelled at Antares after a minute since they had arrived in the Monarch's realm.
Antares just spoke a single "sorry" and was unfazed at the scowl his son had given him. He did not regret that he hadn't showed up in Jong-in's life since he had duties to fulfill as a Monarch. But now that he finally got to be with his children, he would do anything to make them more powerful and live up to being heirs of the Destruction Monarch.

Solo Leveling Episode 8 Review - Build-up For Future Events
Solo Leveling is an anime filled with action sequences, so it feels rather unusual to see an episode that takes a step back from the fight scenes and be a bit more laid back as it’s a build-up for future events.
Tumblr media
In this episode, Jinwoo takes a step back from his quest to conquer the S-rank dungeon as he knows it’s suicide to go in as he is now. What he needs is to level up. The only possible way for him to do that is to accept Jinho’s offer of creating a guild. Now that he has taken the offer, he needs to wait until it is actually formed. Because of that, Jinwoo decides to do some minor raid dungeons with other, rather familiar hunters too. I’m also curious about Mr. Yoo, Jinho’s father. Just what is his ultimate goal with creating a guild? I feel like he’s going to be a villain?
I think the best part about this episode is that the episode finally pulls away from Jinwoo being the central focus and now focuses on other characters for the time beings—mainly the S-class Hunters. We have Cha Hae-in, who got scouted by Yoo Construction, but declined the offer; it turns out that Jinho’s father has made offers to other S-class heroes in hopes of having one as his guild master. The S-class hunters are reluctant as they have their own guilds and duties to attend to. Guildmaster Choi wants the S-class hunters to reject the offer. He’s also someone who likes to push his duties onto Baek Yoon-ho as the interview from a few episodes ago was supposed to be for Choi, but Yoon-ho was forced onto it instead. What I liked about this segment is that I get to see what sort of people these S-class hunters are. They seem like people with their fair share of burdens and sorrows that will be explored in the future.
Not only are the S-class hunters have focus, the hunters that went with Jinwoo in the first mission have returned. We have Song Jinchul who’s still missing an arm, but still kicking. We have Joohee who is traumatized from the double dungeon incident but still chooses to be a hunter despite her mother wanting her to stop. There’s Mr. Kim who has a family, but still persists on hunting. It’s really nice to see that these people still choose to be hunters because they want to. They feel bad for leaving Jinwoo behind, but they’re still trying their best to make amends. I do like that Joohee has gotten a hairstyle change like how Jinwoo did. I’m sort of worried what sort of things will happen next episode as Kang Tae-shik of the Hunters’ Association brought three criminal hunters to the raid under his supervision. What are you planning, you suspicious dude? I feel like there’s more to Tae-shik than meets the eye because his voice actor is Kouki Uchiyama. If your voice actor is that prominent, you know something will be cooking…
What will happen to Jinwoo in the next episode? What will he receive once this dungeon has been cleared? Will it be a progression for him to create the Elixir of Life? I can’t wait for this weekend! What are your thoughts on this episode?

Cale and co in Korea Part 6
[Part 1]
“Haa.” Cale sighed heavily and massaged his forehead with a hand. “Don’t say something so scary.”
He dropped the hand and met Rok Soo’s gaze. “You’ll bring me into the team and I’ll work on locating the hunter while you and your team do your usual work.”
Rok Soo: “Of course. We can’t take interns to the battlefield, so you might even get to be alone in the office. I’ll also try to help you if I get the chance.”
He gathered the papers on his desk and picked up a pen, using it to point at Cale. “The black hair is a good disguise.” He smiled brightly. “My face is really handsome. It looks good with any hair color.”
Raon: “The human looks best with white hair! I mean, second best after his natural hair color. He looks very holy with white hair!”
Rok Soo: “Holy?”
Raon: “Yes, it drove the Crazy Clopeh crazy.”
Rok Soo: “Clopeh, like Clopeh Sekka, the Guardian Knight of the North?”
Cale interfered before they got further off-topic. “I’ll pretend to be half-Korean, half … English? That will be easiest since I can speak English.”
Rok Soo: “Sure, I’ll get your documentation ready.” He gathered the papers on his desk. “After I get this work done. Do you need something else? Money? You’ll need new clothes.”
Cale felt Rok Soo was kinda similar to Deruth. “Please give me a lot of money. I need to feed and clothe my whole team.”
Rok Soo: “Sure. It was yours to begin with, anyway.”
They exchanged phone contacts and Raon and Cale left. As they flew through the night sky over the city, Raon spoke. “Human, I didn’t forget that you didn’t answer me what an intern is.”
************
When they entered the thug’s apartment the TV was still on, although the volume was lowered. The overhead light was off and the adults were bathed in the cool light of the TV.
Ron: “Welcome back, young master.”
Cale: “Where are the children?”
Ron: “In the bedroom, sleeping.”
Cale nodded. Children needed to sleep a lot. He looked at Raon flying above his shoulder. The dragon must be tired, too. “Raon and I will join them. Are you all right here?”
Rosalyn: “Yes, young master Cale. Choi Han has been teaching us about this world and language. It’s very interesting.”
They probably felt like they needed to learn a lot quickly so they could be useful, Cale thought. But even if they were adults they also needed a good night’s sleep.
Cale: “I’ve secured a house for us. We’ll move there tomorrow. So please bear with this for tonight.”
Eruhaben sighed. “Unfortunate bastard. Just go sleep.”
Cale bid them goodnight and gently opened the door to the bedroom. Lock, On and Hong were sleeping on the bed. Raon lowered himself onto the duvet and burrowed himself between the cats.
Cale walked soundlessly to the other side of the bed from Lock. He took his shoes off and laid down on the bed, covering himself with the duvet.
Raon, mumbling: “Goodnight, human.”
Cale, whispering: “Sleep well.”
He waiting until he heard Raon’s soft breathing joining the other childrens’. Then he took the phone out of his pocket and started researching what he’d missed in the last two years. Guild conflicts, new monsters, political changes, new famous abilities … he googled and recorded it all.
***************
Due to the Vitality of the Heart Cale felt refreshed the next morning even though he’d barely slept two hours. He was awoken by the sound of his phone ringing. Specifically, a terrible song resonated through the small bedroom. Cale rubbed at his eyes and grimaced at the awful Korean rap song. I need to change the ringtone, he thought.
Lock sat up and flushed, looking awkward at having slept in a bed with Cale.
On: “Nya! What is that?” She sat up and looked around, trying to find the source of the noise.
Hong yawned. “It sounds like someone is getting their arm torn off.”
Vicious children. That’s the first thing that comes to their mind?
Cale petted the three children and looked at the phone screen. It was Rok Soo. He said the house was ready and Cale could come pick the keys up. They finished the talk quickly.
Just as Cale hang up, the door to the living room opened and Ron stepped in. “Young Master, I heard a noise?”
Cale put his shoes on and stood up. “I need to go.” He walked past Ron into the living room.
Ron: “Again? Without even breakfast?”
Cale: “I’ll get something on the way.” He went into the bathroom and shut the door in Ron’s face. He wanted to take a shower but he should hurry. Rok Soo was probably exhausted and wouldn’t want to wait up long for him.
When Cale left the bathroom everyone had gathered together. They all looked at him.
Eruhaben had his arms crossed over his chest. “Where are you going now?”
Cale: “I need to collect the keys for the house we’ll be living in.”
Eruhaben: “I’ll join you.”
Rosalyn. “I would like to as well.”
On: “I’ll come, too.”
Hong: “Same.”
Ron: “This servant wants to accompany you.”
Beacrox nodded, agreeing.
Lock fidgeted. “If the young master agrees, I’d like to come, too.”
Raon: “I will definitely go with the human.”
Choi Han put a hand on his scabbard. “Cale-nim, you can depend on me.”
Cale blinked, stupefied. “It’ll be boring, though? It’s just a quick trip.” He looked at the clock. “I need to go. Raon, let’s go.” At the apartment entrance he turned back and flinched when he saw the frowning faces. “Make sure to eat breakfast.” He quickly shut the door behind him. He put a hand over his wildly beating heart. He felt like he just barely managed to escape.
He went down the stairs, Raon following him invisibly.
But he couldn't take them with him. For now it was best to keep them away from Rok Soo.
And Choi Han. He definitely couldn’t let that guy out. Not when there was hunter targeting single-livers on the loose. Choi Han was safest hidden away with a lot of allies surrounding him.

“Billos.” “Yes, young master-nim.”
Cale started to smile.
“Did you know this?” “Excuse me?”
The heavy atmosphere changed with Cale’s action, making Billos flinch as he looked at Cale. Cale didn’t care and just said what he needed to say.
“There’s something I’ve been curious about for a while. Do you know what it is?” “…I’m not really sure?”
Cale really was curious about something. He had become even more curious after seeing the golems and the dead mana bombs in the Jungle.
‘How many people must have died by the Alchemists’ Bell Tower for them to have this much dead mana?’
He had a single question as an emotion that was beyond the level of anger filled his mind.
“The Alchemists’ Bell Tower brought the people from the slums and forcibly made citizens of other kingdoms into slaves and brought them here, right?” “Yes, young master-nim?”
Even the citizens of the Roan Kingdom’s Gyerre territory were turned into slaves and almost sent to the Empire by their merchant guild in order to be used as experimental fodder. Then those people who were captured as slaves…
“How did those people come into the capital?”
‘Did they openly bring them in through the gates and delivered them to the Alchemists’ Bell Tower? Were they brought in with teleportation magic? That large number of people? Especially when it was for over tens of years? In addition. I don’t really want to say this, but…’
“How did they hide their bodies?”
Choi Han and Tasha jumped up. Saint Jack was clasping his shaking hands together.
“…Young master-nim, are you thinking-”
Billos could not say anything else. The thought that was going through all of their minds was flowing out of Cale’s mouth.
“Don’t you think that there is a secret passage going outside the capital?”
He thought about the call he had with Adin. He had only seen black walls and Adin’s face, but his complexion had been good.
He didn’t seem hurt at all even though Choi Han’s sword had cut right by his heart.
“The Imperial Prince is probably getting healed at the place he considers to be the safest place for him. Then where would that place be?”
The person who had not said anything until now finally chimed in.
“The Alchemists’ Bell Tower.”
It was Mary. Cale nodded his head and added on.
“It is where the Tower Master would be.”
Cale stood up from his seat and gave an order to Billos.
“The Northern gate. Guide me to the place where the tracks ended.”
Billos looked at Cale’s cold gaze and also stood up. He heard Cale’s voice as he did that.
“Tell Freesia to have her subordinates cautiously continue tracking the carriage.”
Cale thought about Adin who treasured his life the most.
‘Such a bastard would leave the place he has the most influence? The one who wants to control everything would leave his bedroom empty? What if someone else took it over? He would also leave the Bell Tower behind?’
“Looks like the chances of that carriage being empty are very high.”
It was more likely that the carriage was a trick. It was a bait that he put out while hoping that people like Billos, foreign spies within the capital, would get caught.
Of course, Cale could be wrong.
“Tell them to observe it from as far of a distance as possible.” “S, shall I do that now?”
It was the moment Billos was hesitating.
Beeeeeeep- Beeeeeeeep-
Billos’s video communication device started to go off. He quickly tried to call in the mage who was waiting outside the room. However, before he could even leave the room…
Snap! White gold mana surrounded the video communication device and the call immediately connected. Freesia’s face appeared on the screen.
– Young master-nim! You’re here!
Freesia. The assassin who sculpted the rabbit that resembled the devil’s guard dog and who was currently the leader of Cale’s information guild under Ron. She started to speak with urgency.
– I’m not sure if you heard yet, but my subordinates have found the carriage. “And?” – …There were only regular soldiers wearing healer outfits inside while the Imperial doctor was not there.
She quickly added on.
– Furthermore, my subordinates were discovered by the soldiers and knights and are currently on the run.
Billos started to mumble.
“…It really was a decoy, a trap?”
Cale started to speak to Freesia.
“Do you think they can get away safely? If not, I can send someone over.” – It doesn’t look like they will get caught. They have Mr. Billos’s mage with them as well. We plan on sending reinforcements if they are in danger.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Cale started to tap the table the video communication device was sitting on. He then started to speak.
“You’re currently in the slums?” – Yes sir. “I’ll send Vice Captain Hilsman and Saint Jack there, so stay there with Hannah. Also-”
Cale looked at how Choi Han, Tasha, and Mary who were standing there and added on.
“Tell Sir Rex to come to support us here. Have him bring as many video recording orbs as possible with him.” – Yes sir!
The call ended. Someone started to speak as silence filled the room. It was Choi Han.
He looked toward Cale and asked.
“The Alchemists’ Bell Tower-”
The Cat Knight, Sir Rex. Video recording orbs.
Sir Rex remembered a bit of the internal layout of the Alchemists’ Bell Tower after escaping from it in his youth. And recording orbs that could record anything you want. Not just one, but a large number of them.
Choi Han could see the image in Cale’s mind and asked Cale about it.
“Are we infiltrating the Alchemists’ Bell Tower?”
Cale nodded his head. Choi Han asked another question.
“What are you planning to do with the video recording orbs?”
Cale started to speak.
“What else? We have to stealthily spread them around the capital.”
Cale recalled the golems and Honte from the Whipper Kingdom’s battle.
The explosion had been strong even though it had happened on a wide plain. Furthermore, it also had enough power to blow up the entire Section 7 of the Jungle.
The Empire’s capital. What would happen if a battle started in the capital where entry was being controlled right now? What would happen if a battle started in the place where golems and dead mana bombs were all gathered together?
Would the battle only happen around the Alchemists’ Bell Tower?
Cale started to speak to the group who was looking at him.
“They need to run away.”
He needed to inform the citizens of the Empire’s capital about the danger and have them run.
“…It might be the most terrible battle ever.”
Something even worse than a golem might even appear. You always had to prepare for the worst.
“That is why we have something we need to do as we go to hit the Alchemists’ Bell Tower.”
He couldn’t allow the Imperial Prince who did not care for the lives of others to have the option of taking people as hostages again.
“Destroy the walls and gates surrounding the capital. Then assist in the evacuation.”
Make it so that everybody can run. Make it so that they can see the battle between Cale’s side and the Imperial Prince through the destroyed walls and gates. They needed to make that happen.
‘But there are a lot of things to prepare before that as well.’
Cale started to think about everything that he needed to prepare. It was a way to overwhelm his enemies while having the least number of casualties. Cale’s mind was moving without rest.
Choi Han watched him for a while before blinking once and nodding his head. It was very Cale-like to think about the lives of the Empire’s citizens.

Post-Time Travel Recovered Memories AU [Pt.6]
[Last]
Hae-In has never been so grateful for the fact that her father works overseas and her mother is used to her leaving early in the morning for track practice.
Of course, that's not where she goes. Well, she's not sure where she should go - her feet takes her to Sung Jin-Woo's guild building, but that hasn't been built yet so it's just an empty lot, and then she's halfway to his house before it occurs to her just how creepy that is, then she thinks about her own guild's building but that probably hasn't been built either or at least it's some other business in its place, and then she just ends up halfway across the city, lurking across the street from Go Industries without a clue as to whether or not she should call attention to herself at all.
Someone notices her anyway. She's thirteen years old with no adult supervision, in an area where no kids should be for at least another seven hours - there's no hiding that. But to her relief, it's not just anyone who comes to get her. The front doors of Go Industries slide open, and the familiar - if younger - figure of Woo Jin-Chul beckons her over. She's not used to seeing him out of a suit - he's only in a semi-casual white shirt and trousers - but his expression is the same impassive calm as always, and Hae-In feels the squiggle of anxiety knotted in her chest since she woke up this morning finally unravel as she hurries across the street.
"Cha hunter-nim," Woo Jin-Chul greets her, and she's never been so happy to hear her usual address. The man doesn't even blink at how short she is now, or at the sweater, jeans, and sneakers she's wearing.
"Chairman," She replies, only to pause. Is it still Chairman if Go Gun-Hee is alive and obviously remembers everything?
Woo Jin-Chul smiles slightly. "My old position will suffice. I was happy to relinquish the seat back to Chairman Go." A flicker of amusement enters his expression. "Of course, none of these positions technically exist anymore."
Hae-In huffs a laugh of her own as she follows him inside. "When did you remember? Just today? You work fast."
He's already in touch with Go Gun-Hee, and judging by how nobody stops him from taking her through the building even though there's a lot of not-very-discreet confused glances thrown their way, he even has the run of the place already. As expected of Chief Inspector Woo, she supposes. There's a reason a bunch of stories used to go around about how all the major guilds back in the day had verbally and physically thrown down over signing him before Go Gun-Hee had snatched him off the market.
"A week ago," Woo Jin-Chul informs her as they take a private elevator up. "I spent the time tracking people down, but it seems it was only today that everyone else remembered. The Chairman sent a car to pick me up a few hours ago, and Master Choi, Master Baek, and Hunter Min Byung-Gyu are making their way here as we speak. Master Lim and Master Ma live farther away so they won’t be able to come today, but the Chairman has already contacted them, and they’ve cleared their schedules for the day so that they’ll be available for a conference call once the others arrive.”
“So it’s only S-rank Hunters,” Hae-In mutters, but that’s not quite right either considering whose company she’s in. “Or also A-ranks?”
“As far as I can tell,” Woo Jin-Chul says. “It is only S-rank Hunters. I believe I am an exception because Sung Jin-Woo hunter-nim shared memories of the war between the Rulers and the Monarchs with me in our previous timeline, right before that conference he held, so that might have carried over somehow. The Chairman and I aren’t entirely sure why any of us remember at all since I don’t think we were supposed to, but in the greater scheme of things, I don’t think that matters too much.”
Hae-In nods her agreement. No, what matters is that they do remember, and what they’re going to do from here on out.
“What about S-rank Hunters from other countries? They can’t all remember, right? Someone probably would’ve leaked something, and I checked social media earlier. Nothing really stood out.”
The elevator reaches the top floor, and the doors slide open again. Woo Jin-Chul gestures her ahead even as he continues to answer. “No, I don’t think it’s all of them. But I also find it improbable that only Hunters in South Korea remember. Most likely, it is just the S-ranks who came into contact with Sung Jin-Woo hunter-nim in some specific way that have regained their memories.”
“…Thomas Andre,” Hae-In says, eyes widening, because everyone had heard about the drama there, even if they’d missed the news reports. Only someone as insane as Andre could anger Sung Jin-Woo to the point of landing himself in the hospital, and then turn around and make friends with that same man and succeed. Rumour had even had it that he'd come to South Korea for a social visit with Sung Jin-Woo, and that was why he'd been around - and willing - to hold that Monarch back from slaughtering Seoul long enough for Sung Jin-Woo to arrive.
"Indeed," Woo Jin-Chul agrees. "If any S-ranks outside of South Korea remember, he would almost certainly be one of them. Liu Zhigang as well, perhaps. They were probably considered the strongest Hunters Earth could offer, and Sung Jin-Woo hunter-nim got along with both of them. If we were somehow handpicked to serve as his allies, then they would be top candidates. And then there is…" He trails off, and his expression goes odd for a moment, in a way Hae-In can't read. It's smoothed away again almost immediately. "Well, only time will tell what the Japanese S-ranks will do, if anything at all."
And ah, now Hae-In gets it. She's not sure she wants their help either, but at the same time, beggars can't be choosers. Their whole planet is at stake; they need to gather any help they can get, and say what you will about Goto Ryuji and his guild but you can't deny that - once Awakened - they're all strong enough to lend a hand. If they're willing. But Sung Jin-Woo saved their entire country despite what they'd attempted to do to South Korea. Surely even they can't be so shameless as to try and stab them in the back a second time after knowing that. What even would be the point anymore?
"Here we are," Woo Jin-Chul stops them in front of a set of doors at the end of the hall. There are bodyguards standing in front of them, and she can practically feel their baffled suspicion and disdain, but Woo Jin-Chul steps in front of her without making it look deliberate, and the almost bored but uncompromising stare he pins on them in return makes them twitch and glance away.
They step aside, and Woo Jin-Chul opens the doors and ushers her inside.
The man who stands to greet her is a sight for sore eyes. Hae-In had never had much to do with the Chairman, but he'd been capable and powerful, a solid rock at the head of South Korea's Hunter corps, and while Woo Jin-Chul had been a competent leader for the short time he'd been in office, losing Go Gun-Hee had still been a blow.
"Hunter Cha," Go Gun-Hee smiles, and his face - while still weathered with age - has fewer stress lines and no scars, and there's almost no grey in his hair. "You're the first to arrive aside from Chief Woo here." He motions at the table, laden down with coffee and tea and various pastries, all fresh. "You can help yourself while we wait for the others. And in the meantime, if you're amenable to it, perhaps we can compare notes, so to speak."
Hae-In spots the open laptops on the nearby desk and the neat lines of black that look vaguely like a timeline. She straightens. "Yes, sir!"
It seems reasonable to assume that everyone got the same bundle of memories recounting the war of the gods and Sung Jin-Woo's life, and for those who hadn't lived to the end of their previous timeline, they might've even gotten a run-through of what had happened in those following months, but probably not every single detail of it. And it would just be easier for everyone to stay on the same page if they have notes to refer to once they have to start working out a plan of action.
However, "About Sung Jin-Woo hunter-nim though…" Hae-In brings up, because nobody else has yet. Does he know? Have they contacted him?
Go Gun-Hee looks equal parts amused and resigned for a moment. Woo Jin-Chul clears his throat. "Officially, Sung Jin-Woo hunter-nim has run away from home as of three weeks ago." Hae-In stares at him. Woo Jin-Chul shrugs back almost fatalistically. "We believe he should still be around somewhere, preparing for the upcoming war, but it's been a difficult task to locate him. I'm working on it."
A slew of computers in a side office backs up his words, and after a slight bow to both of them, the man retreats with a mug of coffee and a determined stalk to his stride.
Well, Hae-In supposes if anyone can find a man-turned-boy-hiding-the-fact-that-he-is-actually-an-immortal-shadow-king, it would be the person once in charge of monitoring  and reining in every dangerous individual in the country while keeping an eye on all the ones outside of it.
 -0-
(An hour later, three more S-ranks pile into the room, and Hae-In isn't sure if the awkward deer-in-the-headlights look on her guild leader's face upon catching sight of his tiny thirteen-year-old vice-guildmaster greeting him with a customary salute is more embarrassing or hilarious. Baek Yoon-Ho of course has no qualms laughing at him.)

Choi Jong-In Character Analysis
We'll stick to five different things for now (because this post got long)
Choi Jong-In's vision
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jong-In doesn't like bright lights. It might be because of that firecracker that went off in his face before (according to the dossier from the game), but I wonder if it hinders him when he's hunting in closed spaces other than the fact that fire is just dangerous in such places
I'm also curious if he wears the glasses to help with the brightness since they seem tinted and tend to reflect light a lot, but both could be because of the art style.
The lenses on his glasses seem rather thick, so it's either to help him with bright places or his vision really is just that bad. He's probably blind without them either way though-
2. Choi Jong-In's age
Tumblr media
If Jong-In got his passport when he turned 18 and just renewed it, he’s probably around 28 at the youngest since he might have gotten his passport when he was older. He could have renewed it earlier than that, but no one does that- (at least not more than a year before it expires)
This also means that Jongin might have been around 18 when the gates first appeared though he didn’t know he awakened until around six years later according to the game dossier. This means he was probably around 24 by the time he knew he was awakened (although he actually awakened earlier without noticing)
3. Choi Jong-In's leadership skills
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jong-In seemed to assume the role of leader during the raid by making sure the others would be safe and efficiently clearly obstacles that made it harder for them to get to the queen. This was interesting considering there were three other guild masters there (and likely with more experience based on Jong-In awakening six years after the gates appeared, whereas Lim Tae-Gyu and Baek Yoon-Ho awakened soon after the gates appeared). While the reason could be because of how versatile his powers are, he appeared to naturally make the first move rather than let someone else try their idea or wait for someone to ask him what they should do
He also explains what he’s doing calmly to the other hunters. While this could just be for the readers to know what he’s doing, he doesn’t make any rude comments to anyone. Like when Baek Yoon-Ho asked what he was doing, Jong-In explained how the explosions from the fire would show where the queen was. It could be argued that the two were too busy to be arguing like usual, but Yoon-Ho and Min Byung-Gyu were bantering quite a bit as they were making their way inside
Jong-In also knows how to make Yoon-Ho mad as seen throughout the series, so he’s actively not picking a fight when he certainly could have at this point when they weren’t fighting the ants yet. It could be that Jong-In’s too focused on the raid despite his calm demeanor, or he knows it would distract Yoon-Ho too much as he’s very capable of reading Yoon-Ho’s body language
4. Choi Jong-In's perceptiveness
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yoon-Ho is the one Jong-In tends to read the most in terms of body language and emotions, so this part will mostly be about Jong-In reading Yoon-Ho
While Jong-In knew exactly why Yoon-Ho was at the building, he didn't indicate that he figured it out other than his usual smile. He's good at drawing conclusions based on what he observes and reacts in a way that prevents others from knowing what he's thinking. (This might be why Yoon-Ho dislikes him as he knows how well Jong-In can read him)
When the other major guilds were glad that Sung Jin-Woo was no longer taking gates, Jong-In found it suspicious rather than being glad that his guild could get more gates. Jong-In seems to question why things happen and how they work. This was shown in the game dossier when he wanted to test his powers before finding out his rank and ended up burning down a whole building
Despite Yoon-Ho making a provoking comment, Jong-In either knows that Yoon-Ho is avoiding the question and chooses to ignore it or knows that's just Yoon-Ho's way of answering him. In either case, Jong-In understands him enough to try to help him
Side note: Yoon-Ho tends to be the one to start arguments with Jong-In, making Jong-In defend himself
5. Choi Jong-In's self-confidence
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Jong-In seems like he would be an arrogant person, especially with his title, there are actually more moments of Jong-In being aware of his limits rather than being overconfident
When he first heard about Jin-Woo's powers, he believed what Son Ki-Hoon said and immediately understood that Jin-Woo was much stronger than him, compared to Thomas Andre or Hwang Dong-Soo who refused to believe it at first
Jong-In is also aware of how much damage he is capable of as shown throughout the Jeju raid. After assessing how strong the flying ants were, he was confident enough to jump off the helicopter to take care of the ants below alone. However, he did not take the same risk when the S-Ranks entered the anthill as he did not know what would be ahead
That's all for Choi Jong-In in this post, but I do plan on making another one about him. If anyone has specific things they want to hear, feel free to ask for them. If you made it this far, have this picture of Jong-In

He's so precious

Cha Hae In: A small introspective on her character (+Goto Ryuji)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gotta love how her entire character in the game is just "Imma be the very best and no one can stop me" and I love her for that.
On another note she does give me a lot of "Main Character" vibes due to that attitude and the power she displays. Sure she technically got lucky with her power but she still wants to be at the very top of her team by more than just luck alone. As we see with how she has been diligently training with Song Chi Yul despite being an S rank, and she knows her weaknesses very well despite Chi Yul praising her as her student (that she has a long way to go). She is ambitious in her goals and no matter what she gets she will not discard it any way. She is also willing to sacrifice her pain if it means getting what she wants as seen inside the dossiers themselves:
Tumblr media
In dossiers 1 and 2 they also tell about how her whole life she had been walking on eggshells and her reputation was always on the constant brink between bad and good, so I could guess that is why (plus her smell problem) we never really saw her smiling outside of the people she was close too (Jin Woo and Chi Yul). The light novel also hints that with Jin Woo she also finally founded some relaxation in her life which only adds on more to the theory that she only cared more about winning, or in her case hunting, than she did about actually living a comfortable life. Probably the only way she could find happiness was by winning.
Her parents, if she had any (most of the dossiers just say 'adults around her') had pressured her to put herself in the spotlight, and she does seem to have at least some spine to reject that at her young age, however it didnt mean that she was able to overcome all of that. The photo above said she still remained strong despite all the anonymous flase rumors spread about her, all the pressure from the adults and the stains from anti-fans on her achivements, but her achievements still dissappeared and she felt resentful about that day for a long time.
Right now as an S rank she does look a lot more capable to stand up for herself rather than simply ignoring the counts and moving on, heck she even values herself to an extent seeing that she tends to confront her guild master about the shares and even bussiness men know her worth would go up much higher than the other guilds if she were to set up a guild on her own:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The mention of being inspired by the other atheletes is also something really cool since it does add well with what her main goal, apart from passion, is in her life and that is, as mentioned in the twitter posts, to achieve victory, to be the first.
Tumblr media
And this is what makes it all the better for me to say that, she acts a lot like Goto Ryuji.
No, I didnt expect that either and yes im being legit, both of them share a lot of common trains the more we get to find out about theirselves.
For starters: Its that driving ambition to do what they are good at and excell that makes them such a strong force of power in their own respective countries. Just as Hae-In had been ambitious to persue swordsmanship and become the strongest S rank in South Korea, Goto had done the same thing by assosiating himself with the Japanese Hunters Assosiation and gaining the rest of his powerhouse with the other 10 S ranks that he admitted to his guild. He got to be the founder of the second largest guild in Asia while she got to be famous despite being in the Shadow of Choi Jong In (honestly I might even go far enough to say she was the reason Choi Jong In had been nicknamed the ultimate weapon, since he held the strongest S rank in his arsenal.) But still strong enough to decapitate the S rank Queen, yes even with the help of her own team and the japanese but that is still quite a feat considering the last 3 jeju island raids.
None of them tend to be the strongest overall, bc National Hunters exist ofc, but that doesnt stop them to aim higher. Hae-In we can see her aspiration to become first right in the dossiers, where as Goto had more ambition in wanting to be the king, and basically become the best despite the fact that there would be stronger hunters out there.
Both of them also seem to never back down even against powerful threats like the Ant King. Its kinda funny how it tends to be that Goto is the only one called cocky for this because, 1 he died, and 2 he was more of a villain instead of the female lead like Hae-In, yet when she wanted to fight shadow Beru she wasn't laughed about it for doing it. Sure Jin Woo was there to stop it, but that didnt meant anything still when she knew, first hand, she could have been defeted by Beru nonetheless (and she also didnt know that Beru would be less stronger than the Ant King as extracted shadows tend to be weaker), she actively chose to fight Beru for her own gains, yes far better gains than Goto's yet that doesnt ignore the fact that their attitudes had been the same when facing that giant monster. Pretty sure Goto would have also tried to fight Beru again in order to prove his strenght (but Beru is best girl for a reason, he wont fall under anyone unless its his master.) Had he lived.
There are more physical traits, like both of them being sword masters and having a more profesional stoic attitude towards their personality than others— but i did just wanna draw out those two main characteristics of theirs that literally just passed through my head as I was re reading the novel. The smaller differences would be their reason for their ambitions, like with Goto betraying the S ranks for power and prestige, whereas Hae-In does everything for her own power to protect those around her, i.e why she always looks out for the dungeon boss and takes patrols even on her lunch, why she is also very keen in finding out more about the new S rank who doesnt smell, and why she never really kept a lot of secrets to her, she was never going to hide anyways because her main priority at that point in being an S rank was helping people, and being the most powerful just meant she could protect them even better.
Still, it does seem funny that the ones that share a lot of similar traits with each other are: The female lead of SL, and the literal most hated character (by the author) of SL.
Gotta love that for them, gotta love it even more how Hae-In was acknowledged by Goto, which does make me want to explore their dynamic a bit. Would Goto have offered her to join the guild? Would Hae In have acted more like Goto if she had been more upfront towards the spotlight? Would they have bonded over their share hatred against the Ant King? Them batteling by pure measure of swordmanship skill alone would have been fairly interesting too.

Dungeon Boss!Jin-woo
Tumblr media
A black gate. . . Not once in the whole history of hunters had such a gate to appear. The first time it appeared was in America, the government quickly sent the country's best hunters to conquer it before whichever monsters had gotten out, but no one survived. The gate closed before anyone could retrieve the corpses.
The whole world knew it was the most dangerous dungeon ever. Not an A-Rank Dungeon, the Black Dungeon. Whenever it came out, it felt like a suicide mission to go into it, but it was the only choice they had to make for the sake of humanity.
The dungeon was like a hungry beast who only came to feed and leave once it was satisfied with the meal.
But every single organization could not afford to lose any more hunters. Especially S-Ranks, who only blessed the slightest amount of people to be awakened. However, there was nothing they could do.
Even three National Hunters hadn't made it out alive.
Needless to say, nobody knew what was hidden in that dungeon. . .
Others had speculated that the Black Dungeon would be the end of humanity, which sparked turmoil among the society. Not even Norma Selner, who was the greatest prophet of the era, could not be able to seek into the inside of the minacious dungeon. The seer shivered until she almost collapsed from her seat.
The Black Dungeon was undefeatable. Terrifying. And most of all, the biggest threat of humanity.
When it appeared in Seoul, everyone panicked. News quickly raided all media. However, there were still a couple of brave hunters who stood up and offered themselves to raid the dungeon. The Hunters' Association commenced a mission and praised the hunters for their souls even though the possibility of them surviving the dungeon would be low.
Ma Dong-wook, the Guild Master of Fame Guild. Lim Tae-gyu, the master archer and Guild Master of Fiend Guild. Baek Yoon-ho, the Guild Master of White Tiger Guild. Choi Jong-in and Cha Hae-in, the Guild Master and Vice Master of Hunters Guild. And several other hunters that volunteered to join the raid.
It was a pity, knowing most of these hunters had bid their last words and will to their beloved ones.
Entering the Black Dungeon sent a strong wave of aura into the hunters. They shivered. But the place was silent like an empty gate. A thick air flushed through the atmosphere and coldness radiated from the ground as their breaths created clouds of mist. They slowly dispersed and scrutinized the area to wait for the enemy.
*clack!*
Everyone instantly whirled their heads and found nothing but a stone.
"GAHHH!!!!" A piercing scream broke the cold atmosphere.
Blood oozed from the hunter's mouth. . . While a sword thrusted through his chest. The body fell with a thud. And a monster— no, a knight— no, a shadow— no, a black knight stood. Purple glowed from the creases of its suit and a purple smoke wafted from the helmet, or eyes. Lim Tae-gyu quickly commanded the mages to blast their powers at the knight.
The magic swept through the body and the knight dispersed into smoke. Dread coated their lungs. One down. . . How much was there to go?
Not to mention, the boss.
A large black circle swirled on the ground and more knights appeared. Now, everyone must fight with full force. Flames broke through the darkness and an array of magic clashed against the humanoid demons. Then, another batch of enemies appeared.
This time, it was orcs. Red and large.
Jong-in dragged his right hand to pivot his flames, and unfortunately, a weapon struck his shoulder. He cried in agony and could almost tremble. A green light wafted over the bleeding area and the axe disappeared.
"I got you, Choi!" shouted Min Byung-gyu, the S-Rank Healer.
"Byung-gyu! Stay within the tanks!" Jong-in yelled. "Ms. Ju-hee! Assist the wounded hunters!"
They must not lose healers either. Not when Byung-gyu was the only S-Rank who could heal someone's wound the fastest way as possible. Their group was composed with the best healers the association could afford, so if they were gone, it would be game over.
Soon, more enemies began to surge in like a powerful tsunami. There were lizards, bears, more humanoid beasts, knights, and ants.
When defeated, they just disappeared instead of leaving a corpse just like any other gate. And yet again, the Black Dungeon had proved itself to be not like any dungeon. None of the hunters were confident enough that they had killed one. Now they could see how no hunter outside the country was able to get out in one piece. . . All attacked in a single wave.
But hunters were still humans. They could get injured, feel dread in their veins, and feel exhausted. And regardless of these three aspects, they still kept on fighting.
They signed up for this. They swore their very soul that they would conquer this hell of a gate. They swore their lives for this raid.
"Ms. Cha! Your shoulder!" Ju-hee exclaimed as she rushed to grab the huntress to heal the bleeding wound.
"Thank you, Ju-hee. But you don't need to go this far." said Have in. "You must stay in the circle. We've already lost two healers."
"But there are still four of us left. We can do this." Ju-hee said. "Byung-gyu is watching over the Guild Masters and— KYA!"
Hae-in turned her head around and saw an ant lunging at them. Gritting her teeth, she swung her sword and pierced through its body. The healer whimpered behind her.
She nudged Ju-hee. "Go! Protect yourself!"
More monsters came charging at her like an endless wave. Hae-in fought them with all her might and dodged past the attacks, careful enough not to scar her skin.
Suddenly, the ground rumbled. It was the entryway. . . And it was shrinking.
"The dungeon's closing!" Jong-in yelled. "Everyone! Get out!"
"Who cares if we didn't reach the boss. At least we know what's inside of this hellhole!" Yoon-ho roared and threw a punch at the orc.
The second the order was given, all the surviving hunters sprinted to the exit. They carried the injured and assisted the remaining two healers out. The Guild Masters were next as they kept fighting off the raging beasts. However, Jong-in had been bleeding ever since he had opened his wounds, and yet, he still kept fending the monsters with his fire.
Hae-in ran to his side and grabbed his shoulder. "Let's go!"
"No. These damn monsters just keep on attacking!" Jong-in grunted and drove a blast at the group of orcs. "You go. Someone has to keep them from leaving the dungeon! I—" his shoulders drooped and his breaths grew panting.
"You're growing weak. . . "
"Hah. . . " The flames in his hands trembled. "Just leave me, Hae-in. Take my place."
Hae-in scrunched her face into a glare. "You're always the Drama King." She pulled his arm over her shoulder. "We will leave this place together!"
So, she dragged him away. With Jong-in's decreasing strength, it was easy for her to pull him away from the spot and relied on herself to carry his weight. Hae-in did not dare to look behind. She tried not to look at the dozens of dead hunters laying on the ground.
She must get out of here alive with Jong-in. . . Or even so, it would be her guild partner who would survive.
They hastened their pace. The gate was getting smaller. Hae-in grunted and ignored Jong-in's protests about leaving him behind. Once they got close, Hae-in's heartbeat raced at the size of the gate, and without thinking further, she grabbed Jong-in and pushed him through the gate.
"NO! CHA HAE—" his terrified face was the last thing she saw.
And there she was. . . Left alone in the dungeon itself. This must've been what those hunters felt like. The Black Dungeon was satisfied with the corpses in the ground. Hae-in drew the back of her hand across her chin and looked at the army of monsters behind her. It was as if their numbers remained the same.
Was she going to drop her weapon and accept her impending fate? Or was she going to fight until the end?
Cha Hae-in was born to be conqueror. She had devoted her whole life to being a hunter and protected the innocent humans so the children would wake up to a brighter sun.
She chose the latter.
Even though she was surrounded with death, she took her sword and faced the demons.
Come at me. She thought. Come at me and fight until I am ripped to pieces.
However, the demons descended into the ground. Hae-in widened her eyes. They were gone? They disappeared without a trace?
Then, a large heap of darkness appeared and swept through the dungeon, thus engulfing her surroundings. Hae-in watched in bewilderment. Even the corpses were gone. It was just her.
A purple smoke lit up in front of her eyes. There stood a figure. Tall, bright eyes, an unfathomable aura radiating from his physique, and. . . A human? No, it couldn't be a human. He was behind all this havoc and terror across the globe. He was the Black Dungeon's boss.
With renewed determination, Hae-in sprinted forward. And swung her sword at him. As expected of the boss, he dodged past within a blink of an eye. She moved again and summoned the peak of her powers to carry her through the battle. She did not care how many times he had dodged her attacks as if he had memorized her moves, all she cared was defeating him.
This was her revenge for all those hunters. Hae-in was going to show him her full capability and that she was not a prey.
*CLANG*
Hae-in noticed a dagger blocking her sword. And not just that, she caught a glimpse of the face. Tousled hair swaying on his forehead and bright purple eyes with an unreadable expression on his face. As if seeing she was distracted, the boss pulled his weapon and thrusted again. Hae-in blocked it and sprinted to another direction.
Her speed rivaled his and she managed to swing her leg against his torso. He did not grunt or show any change. Another reason why he was no human, but a monster wearing clothes. The faces of the hunters before they fell into the hands of death ran in her mind, which fueled her anger more, and blasted her attacks.
Time passed. The only thing that made her world halt was when she felt her wrist get yanked forward and a sharp blade met the underneath of her jaw. Hae-in was forced to stare into the pair of eyes and black pupils finally show up. A single trail of sweat trickled down her cheek.
"I've been waiting for someone to fight me." He said with a smirk.
The next thing Hae-in knew, her consciousness fell into abyss.
