Doing a rewatch with a friend and I wanted to compile a list of the ways in which Annabeth uses her smarts in the first 4 episodes since I was watching them all at once, and it was a little easier to keep track than when I was watching week to week.

In the first 4 episodes Annabeth:

Figures out Percy is Poisedon's kid and gets evidence while using him as a decoy for Capture the Flag (love a multitasker!)

Clocked they were being tailed by the Furies and used the bus bathroom to help mask Percy's scent

Used the breaking of the back window to slow Alecto down

Clocked Auntie Em's whole deal immediately and came up with the hat idea on the fly

Correctly identified the guard on the train was not a monster threat

Analyzed the chimera's hunting behavior and pointed their group towards what should have been a safe haven.

Geeked out about the St. Louis Arch and its architectural/mathematical impressiveness

Realized that Percy needed naturally running water to heal him after the fountain attempt failed.

Combat wise Annabeth is also doing pretty good:

Took out a Fury with her dagger

Set Percy up to behead Medusa

Scored an early hit on the Chimera after it injured Percy

Wise Girl indeed!

#pjo tv show #pjo series #annabeth chase #I also really enjoyed being able to look at grover and annabeth's relationship from outside of Percy's POV #Grover has so much guilt about that first mission but Annabeth and Luke clearly hold a lot of affection for him #unrelated I also think Annabeth is probably an unreliable narrator when she says Thalia 'made her work' for her affection.#I think Thalia was a scared teenager and knew that she was the thing drawing powerful and scary monsters to their group #When Luke talks about the decision to take in Annabeth he doesn't say he was for it and Thalia was against it #He says we were worried about bringing her along because there were monsters actively attacking us #I think Thalia was probably worried about pulling a seven year old from normal world danger only to put her in demigod level danger #And I think seven year old Annabeth was dealing with a lot of abandonment issues it was easy to project on to their first meeting
