"Gosei Green's brief appearance makes me curious how Goseiger would have been had Green been part of the team all along. I imagine Gosei Great and the Gosei Buster being adjusted to account for a sixth person, and maybe Gosei Blue being female instead so each Gosei Tribe had a male and a female as part of the overall team for balance."

Happy Lunar New Year Super Sentai and Kamen Rider version!

First is ChangeDragon/Hiryu Tsurugi of Dengeki Sentai Changeman, the first Sentai member based on a dragon, a Western dragon to be specific.

Next is Dragon Ranger/Burai of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, some of us might know this suit as the Green Ranger/Tommy Oliver from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Dragon Ranger here is the first sixth sentai member to be themed after a dragon, bipedal one specifically.

Next is Ryuranger/Ryo of the Heavenly Fire Star from Gosei Sentai Dairanger. He is the first to be themed after an Eastern dragon.

On the Kamen Rider side of Toei's tokusatsu productions, Kamen Rider Agito/Shoichi Tsugami is the first Western dragon themed Kamen Rider.

And finally, Kamen Rider Ryuki/Shinji Kido is the first Rider to be themed after an Eastern Dragon. Some might even recognize the suit from Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.

the actor who played kinji/starninger played rentaro in tycoon vs shinobi (albeit shinobi was already a character in zi-o)

so there are 8 in total. there might have been more who had minor roles, but yeah!

Cosmic Fury is doing Super Megaforce right.

I know the bar was set so phenomenally low by the latter but it's more how Kyuranger elements are being adapted as part of Ryusoulger's adaptation.

Megaforce could've made it work by starting with a team that operated on its own before inheriting the powers of their predecessors could've worked but having their pirate suits as just a power up kind of made it weird. See no further that Gosei's lack of a simple explanation for Jake going green.

Here, Cosmic Fury is to be an upgrade from Dino Fury given the new suits (love 'em or hate 'em) are designed based on the latter. It feels like the old team we grown to love but in new digs rather than getting a completely different suit and passing it off as an extension.

I guess they could've drawn more inspiration from Kyuranger's suits below the helmet. Definately needs a team insignia for the black chest area ala Overdrive at least.

For Megaforce, they should've taken the opportunity they had with the first season finale where the rangers can use their morphers to launch attacks. Robo Knight could revive them but only temporarily until Vrak vanishes, leaving them to demorph for good before the Armada arrive.

THAT would justify them receiving totally new powers and totally new asthetics from the ground up. Basically an overdone homage to Zeo. Them having new weapons would explain their new fighting styles as they adapt on the fly. At least a little.

That and at least justify the pirate theme by calling them rebels to the Armada's self-imposed authority onto Earth. Heroic pirates were a thing.

...

BTW, I will bust a gut if Ryusoulger Ten Years After happens with Cosmic Fury suits adapted and modified as a power up. Make it SPD all over again. XD

Wings (Shinkenger & Goseiger & Kiramager)

-Sequel of Drabble 9: Sparkle

“You know, I think you would like Juuru-kun.”

Takeru perked up slightly at what Alata casually said. “Who?”

“A kid who’s a regular at my cafe…and Kiramai Red.”

That got the lord to blink. “Are you sure?”

The angel chuckled and placed a cup of green tea before his friend. “Whenever he is here, he’s always drawing on his sketch pad and saying the phrase ‘Hirameking’.”

“Among the Kiramagers, their Red is also prone to using a sketch pad to make gems come to life from his drawings. And he also has an unusual catchphrase too.” Takeru slowly said, remembering what he learned about the Kiramagers when they first showed up on the Super Sentai scene.

“Exactly.” Alata grinned.

The doorbell rang as it opened, and Alata shifted to serve his new customer before breaking into a wide smile when he saw who it was.

“Welcome Juuru. You’re going to take your usual?”

“Yes, please. Thank you, Alata-san.” Juuru beamed at the angel in disguise and went to his usual table to get his drawing kit out.

From the bar, Takeru watched him with mild interest. Kiramai Red was young to be the leader of a Sentai, yet had a passion for his hobby that stood out among all else, evident by how enthusiastically he was drawing on a fresh page.

Alata excused himself to bring Juuru over his drinks and spoke to him briefly. When he returned, he gave Takeru a pointed smile. “There is also one thing you should know. Juuru’s imagination can rival Right’s.”

The lord caught on to what his friend was saying. To this day, not a lot of Super Sentai could understand exactly how the Toqger’s Imagination works, save for the Kyoryugers and Niningers who worked with them before and got a good idea of what it is. But what Takeru understands is that its concept is not dissimilar from their Mojikara. They were able to bring what they imagined to life just as the Shinkengers brought what they wrote to life. Granted, it was an oversimplification of Imagination and Mojikara, but he was not interested in the debates of the powers that some Super Sentai Teams have in addition to their transformation abilities.

“Done!”

Takeru nearly jumped at the exclamation that came from Juuru. Alata shook his head and gently called out, “Juuru-kun, could you please lower your voice?”

Realizing what he had done, the teen turned bright red and sheepish. “Sorry, Alata-san.”

Alata merely smiled fondly and went over to give Juuru his drinks. When he did, Takeru raised an eyebrow at his friend’s slightly shocked expression when Juuru showed him what he drew. Alata blinked and said something to him. Juuru tilted his head and nodded, carefully tearing the drawing out of his sketch pad and handed it to him.

The moment Alata returned to the bar, he showed it to Takeru.

The first thing that caught Takeru’s eye was how well done the drawing was of Alata in his cafe uniform (certainly miles better than Alata’s), then he saw the wings sprouting from Alata’s back.

He slowly looked up at him with a slightly shocked look. “Does he know…?”

“He once asked me if I was a secret guardian angel because I love helping my patrons.” Alata shrugged. But he could not hide his awe at the drawing. “I think that his Kiramager ability subconsciously perceived me as a Gosei angel, that’s why.”

Takeru shook his head and glanced back at Juuru. Their successor was unique indeed. And he wouldn’t mind meeting him officially after the Kiramagers are done with their fight.

Random shower thought while I was at work -- What if instead of having the Samurai rangers be adapted from Shinkenger, which frankly is a difficult Sentai to adapt, they would be from Goseiger instead?

Goseiger is the angel themed sentai, Bulk is back for some reason, they use "Go Go Power Rangers" as the theme...hell, you can literally just have it take place in Angel Grove. It'd be a solid sentai to reintroduce to the kiddies (not to mention Goseiger's trading card gimmick too...)

Kinda changes a lot of the dynamics with the Samurai rangers and puts Antonio in a weird spot (Goseiger doesn't really have a 6th ranger in the traditional sense unless we count Gosei Knight, and Gosei Green is uh. Dead). Also for clarity sake, Mike is the black ranger here.

Also, they'd have to deal with Gosei instead of Mentor Ji, a fate worse than death. (I'll probably keep Mentor Ji around though because who cares about Tensou)

Honestly, considering Samurai is just a watered down Shinkenger (which I'm certain was due to production issues and being forced to rush everything, which really sucks :/), you can just have the plot be an altered version of Goseiger (with the whole "tribes of angel people going down to earth to protect it" thing). Would fit the Samurai cast with a little tweaking.

Also they wouldn't be called the Samurai Rangers, but I'm calling them that anyways to clear confusion (and because i'm not creative enough to give them a clever name, maybe Sky Knights?)

I'll think about what it'd actually be about. I have concepts for rangers in different tribes (Emily and Mike being Landick, Kevin being Seaick, Mia and Antonio being Skick, and Jayden is...somewhere) being Isekai'd to Earth by Gosei, the ruler of the Skylands, and taking refuge in Mentor Ji's house while getting used to life there and fighting the villain factions that season. Not the most confident in this, but it kinda lines up with Samurai's plot (not to mention the samurai rangers really needed to touch grass more anyways)

MF/SMF review:

All in all,both seasons were pretty boring but unpopular opinion,I preferred SMF. For one thing,I loved all the nostalgia. Jake (my least fav in s1) definitely improved………Jake/Gia is still my biggest PR NOTP along with Ravi/Roxy though. I also preferred the pirate suits, although they unfortunately got way less screentime.

One thing I didn’t like was the lazy editing of the sentai. In so many episodes we had them morph into complete randos whose shows were never adapted. Emma/Gia forever. They were so real.

I will repeat myself for the 100th time and announce that I hate Gosei.

The finale was definitely the best episode. So satisfying although I again I wish ALL the returnees had lines. And RK coming back to life was so random lmfao. Morphing Master Green back at it again!

ranking the rangers is hard because tbh the only one I actually like is emma lol. the rest were boring.
