This is actually just evidence that:
a) boycotts don't work, the idea that consumers avoiding a brand or product from a multinational corporation will hurt that corporation somehow is a capitalist drone power fantasy in the first place. Consumers don't decide what businesses succeed or fail, investors and retailers and advertisers do. All the bullshit about supply and demand that armchair economists think corporations are beholden to was a theory from the 1700's that doesn't apply to a modern global economy. We now live in a world where businesses don't need profits to be successful, and that means what consumers actually do or don't buy is little more than an afterthought to the companies boycotters think they're sending a message to.
But also, b) while rainbow-washing is just pandering in the first place, it's profitable pandering - it does a company more good than harm. That's not reflective of anything other than what investors and stakeholders recognize as an effective marketing strategy, but the fact that it's currently deemed an effective marketing strategy says positive things about the U.S. culturally.
So, in short, businesses really do fail over their politics in the U.S., but it's from chasing off advertisers and retailers with hateful right-wing rhetoric, not from invoking the homophobic ire of people that buy beer at the same gas station they buy bait from or running afoul of the "anti-woke" paranoid fantasies of people in flyover states. If those folks really understood how powerless they are in the modern U.S. economy compared to a corporation like InBev or Target, they'd probably change the way they vote.
