people here applauding the 1975 for doing what they did in malaysia is honestly so ignorant. no way you came to the country without knowing what's wrong and what's right? no way you came to slander the govermment and basic rules of the country? that isn't "iconic" or "life changing" they're just blatantly stupid. them and their white saviour complex is NOT needed in our country thanks. before that, matty h*aly was unprofessional on stage as well for spitting and breaking the drones, being pissed drunk and all in all, a cunt. malaysia doesn't need you to come and start acting like you know everything to "save" us?? we are AWARE. organisers invited you to sing, not to start something. now the festivals cancelled, artists wasted their time and effort, people wasted their effort on getting tickets and saving money for it, fans getting let down for not seeing their favs. all because of matty healy. you won't get it. malaysia doesn't get opportunities when it comes to concerts, now with this, the likelihood of artists to come is even lower. so, yeah, thanks a lot. fuck you matty healy. bodo gile la sohai.

In the Seventies, Hammer Films struggled to find its way as horror films moved away from gothic horror into modern-day terrors; however, the company famous for Dracula and Frankenstein did earn some success with a trio of films referred to as The Karnstein Trilogy. The Grue Crew settles in to revisit the middle entry, Lust for a Vampire, which follows Vampire Lovers (1970) and leads into Twins of Evil (1971). Unfortunately, the film was plagued with misfortune from the onset: both Peter Cushing and Ingrid Pitt refused to return; the original director, Terence Fisher, suffered injuries when he was hit by a car and was replaced at the last minute by Jimmy Sangster; the director and the writer clashed with producers who insisted on including the pop song “Strange Love.” Even co-star Ralph Bates called the feature, “One of the worst films ever made.” Certainly, there must be some highlights. Certainly…
At the time of this writing, Lust for a Vampire is available to stream from  Shudder, AMC+, Tubi, and Flix Fling. The movie is also available on physical media as a Blu-ray from Shout! Factory.
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1970s is part of the Decades of Horror two-week rotation with The Classic Era and the 1980s. In two weeks, the next episode, chosen by Doc, will be Kingdom of the Spiders (1977). William Shatner and 5,000 spiders! What could go wrong?

1. Houston Astros
A stacked lineup and an even better rotation than last year hast Houston looking to repeat.
2. Los Angeles Angels
Health is probably more important to the success of the Halos 2018 season than any other team.
3. Seattle Mariners
Not as many roster moves this time around, but the ones they did make should have them in the Wild Card hunt.
4. Texas Rangers
They remained inactive for most of the offseason which could signal a rebuild in the near future.
5. Oakland Athletics
Their young talent is starting to take shape and a few under the radar trades/signings could have them approach .500.

Review of Stephen Budiansky's "Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr."
Review of Stephen Budiansky’s “Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.”
This review originally appeared here in Los Angeles Review of Books.
Do we need another biography of Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., who served nearly 30 years as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court and nearly 20 years before that on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court? He has been the subject of numerous biographies since his death in 1935. We have not discovered new details…

In 1918, Atlanta’s most prominent real estate firm moved offices, bringing a decades-old business into the Healey. This was important enough news to merit a long column in the Constitution:
Adairs move to Healy Building: Handsome offices on first floor now occupied by a well-known real estate concern -– mahogany furnishings throughout make a beautiful office.
The Atlanta Constitution June 30, 1918
Forrest and George Adair have moved.
Leaving behind in the Atlanta National Bank building the old telephone number– Main 75 – called by thousands of interested in real estate, and familiar to many other thousands who have called it to seek a word of personal or political advice from genial Forrest Adair; bidding good-by to the old clock which is timed the coming and going of the Adair force for years, and practically forced to forsake the huge old safe, with its familiar painting of the Kimball house on its front -– the entire force of the Adairs were busy Saturday afternoon straightening out affairs in their new location at the corner of Walton and Forsyth Street, the southwest corner of the Healey building.
Perhaps the oldest attaché, which the firm could not well leave behind, was Walter C. Holliday, the colored porter, who, at 36 years of age, has spent 35 of them with the Adairs.
Monday morning everything will be in apple pie order in the new business home and there will be no appearance of any lack the efficient, smooth running methods which has characterized the operation and detail of the office.
The business of the Adairs is one of the oldest in real estate circles of the city -– perhaps of the south. It was founded in 1865 by Col. George Adair, father of Forrest and George Adair. For years Col. Adair was located in the Kimball house. When the hotel was burned, he occupied temporary quarters in the Centennial building, and returned to the New Kimball building when it was rebuilt. The painting on the old safe referred to above shows the timely association linked between the founder and the physical location of his real estate offices.
In 1876 Forrest and George Adair were taken into the firm. Later, upon the death of the father, his entire business passed into the hands of his sons, and the firm has been known since as Forrest & George Adair.
In 1902, even before the Atlanta National Bank Building was half completed, the Adairs moved into the second floor. The building was practically built around the old safe, which with its tremendous weight, seems almost to have become its permanent home. However, it will have to come out as soon as a buyer can be found.
In the new business home, as one enters from Walton Street, he passes along the wide isle between handsome mahogany railings and desks. Everything in the entire floor is finished in mahogany, with furnishings of the same, and renders a most attractive appearance. The different departments, such as sales, rent, insurance, etc. have their own compartments, with open railings dividing them, and to the left in the rear is a mahogany finished partition setting apart the bookkeeping and cashier department.
The Adairs have about 3,000 feet of floor space on this first floor with an additional 1,000 in the basement, which will be utilized for the collection departments, files, supplies, class, etc.
A new telephone station has been installed, the new number being Ivy 100, With Mrs. D.L. Daniel and Miss Halman in charge.
In addition to Forrest and George Adair, the following constitutes the force of the real estate house:
Frank Adair, Jr., office manager; J.M. Beasley, assistant manager; Forrest Adair Jr., in charge of the building department.
Sales department, W.P Walthall, Ed M. Chapman, Jr. Ward Wight, T.H. Pitt, Miss Ruby Freeman, Miss Aline DeJournette.
Cashier department, F. Marion Swanson, cashier; William T Oliver, assistant cashier; Miss Hardy Jefferson and F.M.  Sisk.
Rent department, H.H. Arnold, manager; Miss Sarah Freeman, secretary.; Norman Giles, C.L. Hardwick, Frank Melone, Same Giles, Willie Jordan, Mrs. G.W. Wall, Mrs. Thomas Jones.
Collector, S.T. Humphries, T.J. Ragsdale, S.N. Martin, H.R. Martin and C. C. Ivey.
Insurance department, E.A Irwin, manager: J.C. Thompson, assistant manager; Mrs. F.H. Vorlander, Jr., Miss Emma Tenant and Miss Zula Stewart.

In the sequel to the 2016 animated comedy movie The Secret Life of Pets, Terrier Max stresses over protecting toddler Liam (yes, his owner is now married, with a child) and develops a nervous tic. The rest of the gang is having issues, too. Pomeranian Gidget and kitty Chloe try to rescue Max’s favorite toy, hindered by Chloe’s little catnip problem. And bunny Snowball tries to live out his superhero fantasy when Shih Tzu Daisy asks for help on a dangerous mission. Of course, there’s mixed breed Duke (along with Max) who visits a farm only to have to survive canine-intolerant cows, hostile foxes and a terrifying turkey.
With humor and irreverence, the film looks at the emotional lives of pets and their bond with the families that love them. The furry gang searches deep for their inner courage to face their fears with some help from the one-and-only Harrison Ford, the voice behind veteran farm dog Rooster. All the stars are back: Kevin Hart, Tiffany Hadish, Patton Oswalt, Eric Stonestreet, Jenny Slate, Lake Bell, Hannibal Buress, Nick Kroll, Dana Carvey, Ellie Kemper, Pete Holmes, Garth Jennings and Bobby Moynihan. Major League Baseball roundup: Orioles earn 15-inning win over Braves
Baltimore’s Manny Machado broke a 14-game homerless streak with a two-run shot in the 15th inning to give the Orioles a 10-7 win over the host Atlanta Braves on Friday.

Craig Gentry was hit by a pitch to open the inning and was sacrificed to second. Machado connected on an 0-2 pitch from reliever Peter Moylan (0-1) and placed it in the visitors’ bullpen in left field for his 19th homer. It was Machado’s first long ball since June 2, ending his longest homerless streak of the season.
Atlanta forced extras by scoring four times in the bottom of the ninth against Baltimore closer Zach Britton. He loaded the bases and allowed an RBI single to Ozzie Albies, a two-run single to Freddie Freeman and an RBI double to Nick Markakis, whose liner got over the head of right fielder Jace Peterson. Freeman tried to score but was thrown out at the plate.
Baltimore had taken a four-run lead by scoring six times in the top of the ninth against Atlanta relievers Dan Winkler and Sam Freeman. The Orioles got an RBI single from Danny Valencia, an RBI double from Jonathan Schoop and a Chris Davis sacrifice fly. Caleb Joseph added a run-scoring double, Steve Wilkerson knocked in a run with a single, and Craig Gentry drove in a run with a base hit to complete the rally.
Red Sox 14, Mariners 10
J.D. Martinez went 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs, including a tiebreaking two-run single with the bases loaded in the seventh inning, as Boston rallied to defeat visiting Seattle.
The Mariners blew a five-run lead for the second time in three games to lose their season-high fifth straight. They also wasted a big night from designated hitter Nelson Cruz, who went 4-for-5 with two homers and seven RBIs.
Cruz, who now has 20 home runs this season, hit three-run blasts in the first and fourth innings. Ryon Healy added a solo shot, his 14th, for Seattle.
Brewers 2, Cardinals 1
Jesus Aguilar’s second homer of the game with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted host Milwaukee past St. Louis.
Aguilar blasted his 16th homer off Bud Norris (3-2), lining an 0-2 fastball on the outer half of the plate over the wall in right-center. The long ball gave Milwaukee its third straight win.
Aguilar’s homer in the bottom of the seventh not only evened the score, but it also ended rookie Jack Flaherty’s bid at history. Aguilar golfed a low slider into the Milwaukee bullpen in left with one out for the Brewers’ first hit. Flaherty struck out 13, matching a career high, in seven innings while walking two. He gave up just the one run and one hit.
Royals 1, Astros 0
Rosell Herrera followed a marvelous defensive play in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth as visiting Kansas City snapped a nine-game losing skid in blanking Houston.
Herrera scored Adalberto Mondesi with his drive to center field off Ken Giles (0-2), who surrendered a leadoff single to Mondesi to open the ninth.
Herrera began the eighth by snatching a home run from Houston’s Alex Bregman, timing his jump in right field to make the catch at the wall. Bregman went 0-for-4 as his streak of reaching base safely was snapped at 31 games.
Rangers 8, Twins 1
Shin-Soo Choo extended his on-base streak to 35 games with two hits, including a two-run homer, and Mike Minor gave up just one run over six innings as Texas cruised to its sixth straight win by beating Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Choo finished with three RBIs. Nomar Mazara and Adrian Beltre each had two hits and drove in two runs, and Robinson Chirinos also had two hits for the Rangers, who had lost seven in a row before starting their win streak. Mazara has 11 hits and seven RBIs over his past five games.
Minor (5-4) faced the minimum 15 batters over the first five innings, allowing just a first inning two-out single to Brian Dozier, who was easily gunned down by left fielder Joey Gallo trying to stretch it into a double. The Texas left-hander allowed three hits and walked two to go along with three strikeouts while picking up his first win in four starts.
Rockies 11, Marlins 3
Nolan Arenado homered for the fourth consecutive game, Jon Gray struck out 12 in seven innings, and Colorado routed Miami in Denver.

Arenado finished with three hits. After going hitless in the first game of the current seven-game homestand, Arenado is 10-for-17 with four home runs and 11 RBIs over the past four games.
Tom Murphy had three hits and two RBIs for Colorado, which has won a season-high four in a row at home. Derek Dietrich homered among his three hits, and J.T. Realmuto also had three hits for the Marlins, who have lost three in a row.
Angels 2, Blue Jays 1
Andrew Heaney threw seven strong innings, and Los Angeles made two first-inning runs stand up in a victory over Toronto in Anaheim, Calif.
Heaney (4-5) held the Blue Jays scoreless for six innings before giving up a run in the seventh, but Cam Bedrosian (eighth inning) and Blake Parker (ninth inning, ninth save) finished it off.
Mike Trout started as the Angels’ designated hitter for the third consecutive game, still feeling the effects of a sprained right index finger. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
Padres 6, Giants 2
Clayton Richard pitched six strong innings to win his fourth consecutive start, helping San Diego snap a five-game losing streak with a win at San Francisco.
Richard (7-6) combined with five relievers on a five-hitter, snapping the Giants’ three-game winning streak in the process.
Cory Spangenberg scored twice, and Eric Hosmer and Manuel Margot each drove in two runs for the Padres.
A’s 11, White Sox 2 (Game 1)
Franklin Barreto hit two home runs and racked up six RBIs, and Sean Manaea delivered a strong start as Oakland won the opener of a doubleheader in Chicago for its fifth straight victory. The White Sox lost their eighth in a row.
Barreto hit a three-run homer off James Shields in the second inning to give Oakland a 4-0 lead. The A’s have now homered in 22 straight road games, a franchise record. Barreto tacked on another three-run blast in the eighth inning, his third of the season — all in his past two games.
Khris Davis, Jed Lowrie and Jonathan Lucroy each had RBIs for Oakland, which took advantage of three White Sox errors.
White Sox 6, A’s 4 (Game 2)
Omar Narvaez went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Chicago snapped its season-worst skid with a victory over Oakland to earn a doubleheader split.
Tim Anderson went 2-for-4 with a homer and three runs as Chicago beat the Athletics for the first time in five meetings this season. Adam Engel added a two-run single for the White Sox.
Matt Olson homered and drove in two runs for the Athletics. Khris Davis contributed a two-run single.
Phillies 12, Nationals 2
Carlos Santana homered and drove in four runs, and Odubel Herrera homered for the fifth consecutive game as Philadelphia won at Washington.
Slideshow (14 Images)
Santana hit a two-run homer and added a two-run single while finishing 2-for-4 with three runs. He also walked twice.
Herrera went 4-for-5 with four runs and two RBIs. Nick Williams added three RBIs for the Phillies.
Diamondbacks 2, Pirates 1 (13 innings)
Ketel Marte hit a two-out RBI single in the 13th inning to give visiting Arizona a win at Pittsburgh.

Dallas Keuchel dominant in Astros’ win over Athletics
Perhaps the best indicator Dallas Keuchel has regained his All-Star form is the rapid rate at which he induced ground balls Friday night at Minute Maid Park.
Pitching seven scoreless innings in the Astros’ 3-1 win against the Oakland Athletics, Keuchel recorded all but four of his outs on the ground. In vintage fashion, the ace lefthander pounded the bottom of the strike zone with his sinker and worked ahead in counts.
Only two of the 24 Athletics batters Keuchel faced hit a ball into the outfield. Keuchel allowed just three hits and one walk. He struck out only three but had his best changeup since his return from the disabled list late last month.
Keuchel became the first Astros starter to complete seven innings since Charlie Morton against the Toronto Blue Jays on Aug. 5. Back-to-back home runs by Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve in the third inning off A’s lefthander Sean Manaea provided the bulk of the run support for the 2015 American League Cy Young Award winner and two-time All-Star. Ken Giles converted a five-out save.
The outing marked Keuchel’s second consecutive strong performance after three lackluster-to-terrible starts when he was fresh off his eight-week injury absence. It marked the first time he completed seven innings since May 5, when he pitched eight but was charged with five earned runs at Anaheim. He improved his ERA on Friday to 2.58 through 16 starts and 101 1/3 innings.
The Astros’ homers signified two of six hits they managed off Manaea, who they face in seemingly each of their series against Oakland. Bregman lifted his homer, on a 2-and-0 fastball, into the right-center field seats. Three pitches later, Altuve sent an 0-and-2 fastball into the Crawford Boxes.
Yuli Gurriel and Josh Reddick strung together singles in the sixth to tack on a third run. The sixth was Manaea’s final inning. Chris Hatcher, acquired by the A’s from the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this week, emerged from the bullpen to pitch the seventh.
Astros manager A.J. Hinch didn’t call for a reliever to warm until after Ryon Healy smacked a shift-beating single into right field with one out in the seventh. Keuchel promptly finished the inning by inducing a 5-4-3 double play from Chad Pinder just as Chris Devenski began firing pitches in the bullpen.
In all, Keuchel induced 16 groundouts – groundballs accounted for 17 outs, including the double play – and zero flyouts. The A’s first hit came via a bunt single to the third base line by eight-hole hitter Matt Joyce, the lone lefthanded hitter in Oakland’s lineup Friday. Keuchel kept busy Bregman, who made a couple of spectacular plays at third base.
Keuchel built his pitch count up to an even 100, his largest since he came back from his neck injury. Devenski took over for the eighth. His recent struggles continued in the form of a solo blast by Joyce, the ninth homer Devenski has allowed in 63 2/3 innings this season. The 2017 All-Star gave up just four home runs in 108 1/3 innings last year.
Hinch made a rare mid-at-bat pitching change by pulling Devenski after the righthander threw a first-pitch ball to pinch-hitter Matt Olson. Giles entered and got a 4-5-3 double play to end the eighth. The closer was sent back out for the ninth and struck out the side.
