Jack gloats to Diane how he bested the Kings about the land development and sees Robert has the one who helped to end that and the field the Kings were after is ‘as good as’ his. Robert makes it clear to Sadie she ruined his life (no, his brother did not according to her) and she’ll get what is due to her.

Classic ED schedule, week 18 (2024)

Cain’s taunts lead to a brawl between he and Robert with Sadie stepping in. Zoe starts making plans to leave the village with Jean. Matthew manipulates Robert under a guise of a potential job in the business. Forsythe will make up his own mind regarding Steph. Betty’s gossip over Zoe’s plans to leave shocks Scott. The money is too good for Andy to turn down renting a stable to Sadie. Chas thinks it’s time to join the troops in the army, Cain & Sadie do the dirty but in a light of day… time to make her pay (soon after her dog Damon is dead). Jarvis’s 65th birthday is celebrated. Viv makes matters worse regarding Jean. Dancing lessons for Andy? Tom invites Sadie back into the business.

Robert is on a drinking binge but Jack convinces him to go home but not after another run in with Cain (leave him alone already!). At home, a drunken Robert first tells Jack it was Cain who started the ‘rumor’ about him and Sadie then lets it slip about the Kings development plans of the land next to Andy’s. Well, it’s time to let Zoe know of the Kings’ plans Jack thinks.

Robert’s not in good shape with Katie’s departure, having a tiny blowup with Victoria. Donna whinges to Robert how she drove her best friend away and he continues to deny things. Cain taunts Robert about his situation and it’s Steph of all people that stops things before they escalate and then gives Robert sage advice (weird).

Goodbye, Katie… for now. (Part 2.2)

Robert is not happy when Jack tells him Katie is gone for good. Katie has decided to leave the village as she and Andy would never have worked. Robert just makes it to say goodbye to Katie (he got them a house and mortgage on the new development but she just knows Sadie was involved). Robert is devastated as Katie leaves the village consoled by Jack (is this the last hug/positive empathy we’ll see from Jack toward Robert?)

Katie opens up to Donna and Chas about her situation with Andy and Robert. Daz worries Andy will do something daft with Katie as she isn’t worth it. Libby asking Andy where he was the previous night. Robert wants Sadie’s help with Katie otherwise he’ll out their affair. When Katie packs up her things from Jack’s, the two of them have it out with some truths and some off as Jack doesn’t have the entire picture.

It’s a new morning after Katie and Andy slept together. Robert is also off early to find Katie. Diane tells Jack to butt out of Robert and Andy’s drama. Katie ponders whether to stay or leave the village. It’s a new day and once again the brothers Sugden brawl only to be separated by Jack. Robert tracks down Katie and her wounds of hurt are plain to see (Gah, the Robert and Katie scene reminds me of the Aaron/Robert talk early 2017).
