Me to myself: Please, you have to stop being weird about this fictional dude.
Me, defiantly: NO, absolutely not, & now, as a matter of fact, I'm getting even weirder about him as we speak JUST TO OFFSET ALL THIS SOUL CRUSHING DOUBT♡

Hey kid, chin up. The only thing I ever really wanted was to take care of my family, and I got that. Sure, I’ll miss a few things. But hey, they’ll probably miss me, so I’ll call it even.
HAHAHAHA HEY HEY HEY OKAY YOU CAN'T JUST POP IN AND DO THIS—
ALRIGHT crew take your positions we're rerouting the ship to pick up an old man before he does something irreversibly sad in the process of saving the universe /j

YUMMY like george arguing with sapnap escalating from him insisting on not entering rooms to then becoming aggressive whenever george actively does or says anything against any of the creatures or the marker
poor george is so confused in the aggressive/violent switch in his boyfriend and sapnap has no idea why he’s so compelled to protect the ship now
Yesss! I do believe it has been described that people under the influence of the Marker at times know what they’re being made to do isn’t really their own will. Kind of like a weird dream-like state I guess? So there would definitely be times Sapnap knows he’s doing something he probably shouldn’t, like wanting to stop George from trying to destroy the Marker. When George asks him why Sapnap has no answer, because logically he knows it probably is best for them to get off the ship or destroy the Marker. It’s like a mental block or haze that makes him unable to explain his actions.
I also just realized how defenseless George would be compared to Sapnap. Sapnap is wearing an engineer suit made both to protect and that gives the wearer a boost in endurance and strength to deal with machinery.
Meanwhile George is just wearing more a civilian suit that is basically normal clothing since he’s a data analyst. I think he will probably get some kind of suit himself eventually because I like to think he’s the one doing most of the tasks outside the ship since Sapnap is terrified of spacewalks.
But still, imagine George having to fight off Sapnap when Sapnap sees him as a necromorph. He’d have to get the plasma cutter away from him, fighting for his life to just pin Sapnap down and get both their helmets off so Sapnap can see that it’s him. And Sap probably has the time to get a few good hits on George before he snaps out of it, only to get even more distressed because George’s face is bloody because he fucking hit him.
George just gets back up and is back on track instantly, because that’s how he’s coping. Get off the damn ship, worry about everything else later. Sapnap automatically reaches for his plasma cutter again, justifiably paranoid about the necromorphs that are everywhere, but George snaps at him to not touch it until he’s left the room, terrified Sapnap will aim it at him again.
Sapnap feels so so guilty, devastated at the thought that George is scared of him, that George must hate him now. It’s another reason he can’t look George in the face, the rest of the time on the Ishimura it’s horribly bruised and later on the Sprawl he still has a scar on his cheek from one of Sapnap’s punches.

genuinely baffling to me how much of a victim complex some skk shippers have
YEAH yeah aouhghh-
like,, its one thing if people were actively harassing/bothering them but there is no reason for Those Types of skk-ers to be So Upset about other ships just existing (and to just,,doing the same things that they do in terms of relating/redrawing other ships moments to theirs)
I mean come on,, just look the other way,, no need to cry cuz someone chose to make Dazai to kiss different colored pile of pixels today
