If you follow me on any social media platform, you know how torn up I’ve been about Georgia’s antiabortion bill signed a little more than a week ago by that milquetoast motherfucker in the governor’s mansion. Even more upsetting is the call for the film industry to boycott the state of Georgia, of which I’ve been a very vocal opponent (because Brian Kemp is an evangelical, and Jesus doesn’t give a fuck about Georgia’s economy or the wellbeing of the people here). Last night I went to the launch party for Film Impact Georgia, and I’m not exaggerating when I say I felt a million times more hopeful by the time I got back home. Please find and follow Film Impact Georgia on all of their social media platforms (listed on the third photo of this post), GIVE THEM MONEY, and share their message. Georgia is the top film production location in the world right now, but a very small fraction of those productions were developed in Georgia. I’m a writer and a director, I am from Georgia, and this organization is what I personally need to be successful. I’m tremendously grateful and even more excited about my future, and about the future of film in Georgia, and guess where my future earnings are going to go?
