Trans Pan! Feathertail And Bi! Tawnypelt Are The Mothers Of The Three

I saw this wall of text and I knew I was going to love it

Having all these yummy details to work off of is gonna be wonderful <3 Thank you

Also, the fun fact of the day, TawnyFeather was one of the first LGBT ships that I really adored! It was pre me reading the series, of course, but even after I still liked the idea of these two gals being a couple.

So I'm happy to circle back to this ship

a fast note before I begin, the prophecy of the silver cat was changed for this

"paws unharded by the mountain stone, a fire burns inside a cat whose pelt blends in with a place unlike their home"

While fighting Sharptooth, Crowpaw takes the beast had on, shocking his travel companions

He manages to cling to Sharptooth's back, he manages to have the massive feline tumble backwards, sending them both into the powerful waters of the falls

Cats run to try to find the two, but both have vanished. Stoneteller explains, grimly, that unless they escaped before the crashing walls of water, there was no chance either survived

The reality of this young, headstrong apprentice dying so horrifically stuns the group and the air feels almost sobering

On the way back, Tawnypelt pulls Feathertail to the side, asking if she's okay. After all, she had thought of Crowpaw like kin

Feathertail assures she's fine, but it's clear she's troubled

Being the stubborn force of nature she is, Tawnypelt has the tabby open up about her feelings by not giving up

The two talk for a while and it turns out to help Feathertai

Feathertail also expresses that part of her is worried on how they're going to explain this to WindClan

Tawnypelt has this

Feathertail jokes that that's not very assuring

It actually isn't, as Tawnypelt is painfully blunt and it has Feathertail fret on how WindClan will react

Tawnypelt is confused on why

Thankfully Tallstar doesn't react negatively and instead he gives Crowpaw a dying warrior ceremony when the Clans reach the Tribe, naming the strong-hearted tom Crowspirit

When the Clans reach the new territory Tawnypelt, Onewhisker, Feathertail, and Brambleclaw go together and pick out their Clans' territories

During this time, the two are joke-flirting just because Brambleclaw made an offhanded comment on how lose the two were getting

Joke flirting turned to real flirting at some point and neither she-cat is sure when, but it was sometime while the Clans were settling into their new territory for sure

They'd start meeting at the border and at one point Hawkfrost finds and confronts them

Feathertail snaps at him, saying she's allowed to have friends

Hawkfrost bites back a response, instead stating, dryly, that now she needs to focus on RiverClan

Feathertail roles her eyes and tags along back to camp

Tawnypelt finds she already misses her

Hawkfrost comments, to Feathertail, that she needs to find more 'friends' inside her own Clan

Feathertail snorts and gives a cold "oh, 'friends' like you?" which shuts the tom up

She can't help but feel a bitterness that his father is Tigerstar and she admits to herself and only herself that that's why she acts so cold and distant to him most of the time

She wants to feel guilty about it, but the guilt won't come

She's at least thankful that Mothwing is a promising medicine cat, even if the golden tabby wasn't her pick for one - again, more anti-Tigerstar bias

Though, as she thinks about it, she does end up wincing

Does that make it wrong that she cares about Tawnypelt so much?

Tawnypelt had willingly chosen to live in ShadowClan because of her father, but at the same time.. She was so unlike Tigerstar.

Blinking, she looks to Mothwing and then Hawkfrost.

They're also unlike Tigerstar [as far as she's aware]

Guilt actually starting to form, she goes up to Hawkfrost as he grabs a fish out of the prey pile

She ends up apologizing for snapping at him

Hawkfrost seems surprised and comments, in a joking manner, that he didn't think it was possible for the molly to ever apologize

Feathertail snorts and retorts with a comment about how she's only been in the wrong just then

Hawkfrost raises a brow at that but makes no comment

The two bicker and Feathertail relaxes only slightly

She's sure now that Hawkfrost isn't a tyrant like his father and she allows herself to feel at peace

A moon passes and Feathertail prepares to head out, Hawkfrost teases her, saying to tell her mate he said hello

She is shocked and bats his ear

She jokes and says with an attitude like that, it's a wander why suitors aren't bowing at his paws

He states that she's just jealous over his good looks and she rolls her eyes

After leaving, she heads to the border and Tawnypelt is already there, waiting for her

They spend the night together, talking about their plans for the future and the idea of Feathertail, perhaps, one day leaving RiverClan and joining ShadowClan

Specifically Feathertail brings up the idea and Tawnypelt honestly considers it, though does ask why she doesn't want the tortoiseshell to move to ShadowClan

Feathertail winces, mentioning she'd rather leave RiverClan than have Tawnypelt leave ShadowClan

"But what about.. The memories of Tigerstar?"

"Tigerstar tainted all four Clans. No matter where I'd move, there'd be something somewhere that reminds me of him."

Feathertail adds onto her own comment before Tawnypelt can respond, adding how she can't keep letting a dead cat control her through fear while she's still alive

Tawnypelt promises that, no matter what, they'll stick together

Feathertail likes this

Things go fairly swell up until the night before the WindClan coup, where it's Feathertail who learns of Hawkfrost and Mudclaw's plans and goes off to warn Onewhisker - who is soon to be Onestar

As she runs to tell the WindClan leader, her heart burns in anger

She had trusted Hawkfrost

She had been so sure that he was nothing like Tigerstar

He tricked her

When the coup happens, Feathertail is on WindClan's side, trying to find Hawkfrost

But the RiverClan tom is nowhere to be found from what she can see

At least not until he turns on Mudclaw

Hearing him lie to Brambleclaw, she drags her travel companion off to the side, tail lashing asking if he honestly believed a single word that came out of that foxheart's mouth

Brambleclaw is stunned by her anger

The two get into an argument, Brambleclaw defending his half brother, that comes to a head when Brambleclaw accuses her for not trusting Hawkfrost for being Tigerstar's son

"Maybe I don't!" Feathertail snaps in the heat of the moment. "And maybe I was wrong about ever trusting you, too!"

This is a smack in the face to Brambleclaw, but Feathertail storms off, tail lashing

That small guilt feeling comes up, but she suppresses it

She wants to allow herself to feel angry

Feathertail spends the next couple days staring down Hawkfrost every time she sees him

The two are no longer on the same friendly terms, but Hawkfrost acts like he doesn't know what's going on

When she sees Tawnypelt again, the two have a long talk

Feathertail admits that, despite her best efforts, Tigerstar's influence still hurts her

Tawnypelt asks if being with her hurts

Feathertail admits it doesn't hurt as bad as she thought it would, but she still struggles with Hawkfrost and now Brambleclaw

Tawnypelt is confused

"Brambleclaw?"

Feathertail tells her side of the story and Tawnypelt is surprised, promising to talk to Brambleclaw

Feathertail doesn't want to cause issues

Tawnypelt does

Tawnypelt goes on to go off on Brambleclaw for defending Hawkfrost and not believing their mutual friend who they had far more experience with than Hawkfrost

Brambleclaw defends himself, saying Hawkfrost is nothing like Tigerstar and Feathertail must've misheard Hawkfrost or thought it was Hawkfrost there

Tawnypelt is baffled by his idiocy

"And what if I was the one saying that Hawkfrost had been plotting with Mudclaw?"

"You weren't."

"But what if?"

This argument ends in it slipping that Brambleclaw is training in the Dark Forest with Tigerstar and that ends in Tawnypelt knocking her brother upside the head and calling him 'truly empty behind the ears'

"You know what Tigerstar did"

"But-"

"Don't you dare try to defend that foxheart. You know what he did to the Clans. To our home. To Feathertail-"

"Why does this keep coming back to Feathertail?" As soon as he asks it clicks in his head on why Tawnypelt would be so protective of the silver tabby

He confronts her now and Tawnypelt defends herself by loving Feathertail is in no way worse than training in hell

There's really no good rebuttal to that and the argument ends up flittering out and the two head their separate ways

This leads up to Hawkfrost's murder, but the same day that Brambleclaw faces down his brother, Tawnypelt has some important news to share with Feathertail

She's pregnant

They're Feathertail's

This is quite the news and Feathertail is shocked

However, this is met with some concern

Mistyfoot had stepped down due to personal reasons and Feathertail was chosen as the new deputy

This stresses Feathertail out, as she wants to be with Tawnypelt

The two reach an understanding

Tawnypelt would raise the kits and - when the time was right - they'd introduce them to Feathertail

Feathertail hopes things go well

Tawnypelt hopes so, too

They spend what time they can together until Tawnypelt can't really leave the nursery or camp

The two had planned a couple of names, but Tawnypelt can only hope the names are fitting for the kits

She gives birth to three kits; a cream tabby she names Lionkit, after LionClan [as promised to Feathertail] a tortoiseshell tabby molly she names Hollykit for the bright ginger in her fur that looks the color of holly berries and for the silver tabby tom she names him Jaykit - a bird in honor of both Crowspirit and Feathertail

The Clan is happy to see the kits, though confused on why no one is stepping up to admit to being the sire

Tawnypelt states, bluntly, that the cat who helped her have these kits didn't want to be named

The Clan accepts this, as they have no reason to think otherwise

The three are raised under ShadowClan morals and Tawnypelt loves her kits dearly

Jaykit, being blind, isn't questioned for wanting to be a warrior and his Clanmates already are preparing to plan for ways to help train him, which helps with his confidence

Some warriors are trying to sweet-talk Blackstar into letting them have Lionkit as an apprentice, as the tom is tough as claws

Hollykit has been looking towards the medicine cat den and follows Littlecloud around whenever he's in camp

When the three become apprentices, Hollypaw is given to Littlecloud, Lionpaw is being trained by Crowfrost, and Jaypaw is being trained by Blackstar himself

This is surprising to ShadowClan and considered an honor

The three start their training and things are a bit rough at first, namely for Hollypaw and Jaypaw

Hollypaw has a hard time understanding herbs, but Littlecloud is patient and willing to guide her paws. He promises that he's not going to give up on her and Hollypaw is thankful.

He starts showing her more fun ways to remember which herb is which, by trying - terribly - to get the words to rhyme

Hollypaw laughs at this

Jaypaw isn't very good at fighting, though he's picked up on hunting a lot better than he thought he was going to

When he expresses doubt in himself, Blackstar snorts, saying that every ShadowClan warrior has doubts, but the challenge is to face those feelings head on

He believes Jaypaw can do this

Crowfrost and Lionpaw are quite the duo

Both toms are tough and though that leads to them butting heads, it helps fuel Lionpaw

When the gathering comes around, the three are curious to meet the other Clans

The first cats they end up meeting are the deputies - Brambleclaw of ThunderClan, Ashfoot of WindClan, and Feathertail of RiverClan

Brambleclaw seems watchful of the three and Tawnypelt informs them that it's because he's their uncle

The three are excited to learn they have an uncle

They're also informed that Mothwing, the RiverClan medicine cat, is their half aunt and Mothwing is surprised to be included, but thankful to her half sister

As the adults talk, the three young apprentices go off to meet the cats their own age, as all they have in ShadowClan is the older apprentice, Ivypaw, and Owlpaw, who is close to the same age as them

There they meet Willowpaw, Dapplepaw, Minnowpaw, Pouncepaw, and Pebblepaw of RiverClan

Hollypaw is in awe of Willowpaw and the two end up chatting for a while while her brothers go off to meet other cats

From WindClan they meet Kestrelpaw - another medicine cat apprentice, Harepaw, Heatherpaw, and Breezepaw. Harepaw is the oldest of them and nowhere near as bold as any of them. Specifically Lionpaw sees him as meek as a kit. Breezepaw's father is the late warrior, Mudclaw, and he's very hostile towards ThunderClan

And finally, from ThunderClan, they meet Poppypaw, Cinderpaw, Honeypaw, Berrypaw, Mousepaw, Hazelpaw, Dovepaw, and Ivypaw [Dovepaw and Ivypaw are born earlier in this AU]

Lionpaw is surprised that ThunderClan has so many cats

They're surprised that Jaypaw is allowed to be a warrior apprentice

Jaypaw, Lionpaw, and Hollypaw get defensive about this

Gathering passes, they come up with the Daylight Gathering, that happens, and it ends with Hollypaw putting her skills to the test and managing to save her brother and Breezepaw

Everyone is impressed and Hollypaw is certain that she wants to be a medicine cat now

I can't imagine too much is vastly different for some parts [plus my memory of TPo3 is starting to falter so I'm going to need to reread the books tbh], though I'll just go into the notes version cause why not;

Everything with Lionpaw, the Dark Forest, and Heatherpaw stay about the same, though they sneak to the outskirts of Clan territory instead of into the tunnels up until their breakup

Jaypaw has some issues training at first, but Blackstar builds his confidence the best he can

Sol is still an issue and the Three are actually in ShadowClan when Sol tries to dissolve it and Jaypaw confronts Blackstar, who admits he still has his own demons to work out

They do learn of a prophecy that Littlecloud had been refusing to share with Hollypaw; "there will be three, born of the darkest shadows, who hold the power of stars in their paws"

Lionpaw has his same powers, as does Jaypaw. Hollypaw has Dovewing's power.

When they earn their full names they become Jaystrike, Lionstorm, and Hollyberry.

When they learn that their mother, Tawnypelt, is expecting another litter, Hawkfrost's ghost outs Tawnypelt to Lionstorm

Lionstorm, outraged, confronts Tawnypelt as Jaystrike and Hollyberry are confused

Tawnypelt tells them the truth and Lionstorm, fueled by anger by the Dark Forest, tries to attack her

He's stopped, thankfully, and things are very tense

But they're not the only ones who know

That gathering, Feathertail and Tawnypelt are outed by Crowfrost, who, turns out, isn't a big fan of Tawnypelt at all and had guessed something had been up with her for moons

Feathertail gets demoted, but that becomes her excuse to move to ShadowClan. There are cats miffed that Blackstar allows her to move in.

Blackstar doesn't make life easy, though

Tawnypelt is barred from ever taking another apprentice and is never allowed to become deputy. Feathertail is to be mentored by Russetfur in ShadowClan's ways and is not allowed to call Tawnypelt's kits her own.

The last one about the kits doesn't end up sticking, but he tried

Things are rocky between the moms and their kits, but Jaystrike and Hollyberry are the first ones to forgive

Lionstorm takes much longer
