#kingdra #not a lot to say about this pokémon to be honest. it's definitely one of them of all time #wait hold on isn't it a fucking dragon-type? lemme look this up #yeah it is okay what the fuck. is this pokémon good hold on lemme ask someone who knows about competitive pokémon #ok ok results are coming in. swift swim is really good bc it has kinda mid speed but you can double it in rain #meaning it can be a good sweeper if you want it to. and the phys.atk. and sp.atk. are the same so you have a lot of options #the typing is kinda whatever since all it does is give it a quad resistance to fire and water #and it was only good enough to be OU in gen 5. They are stuck in a storage room without a key. They have been screaming to be let out for months. No one can hear them, the rest are too far away. (Man I love having silly thoughts) (this is also if they even have puppets lol)

oh actually this is an opportunity about a Theory / Speculative Thing ive been thinking about for months - ive applied it to the au but until proven otherwise im highly suspecting this to be true for The Source

im of the "the joyfuls / ms. beagle / the pillar family / any supplemental characters did not have physical puppets, and only existed in the storybooks, records, animated segments, and other non-physical media" crowd. it makes sense to me for several reasons.

but at least for Lights Out, im making it au-canon that theyre... yeah, not real. they're false memories. just like how none of the neighbors had an actual childhood, they don't have actual family. there is only the nine.

Listening to a Dr Who podcast (not one anyone here has recommended to me, in fact I think I heard about it through a tumblr post,) and it's reminding me why I almost never listen to Dr Who podcasts or watch Dr Who youtube videos. It's because I just can't stand hearing so much objectively wrong information. Maybe it's due to Doctor Who being such a large and long-lived franchise, I know that I can misremember and get things muddled. But surely if you're publishing something you'd want to double check that you're not confidently emphasising incorrect facts about even basic things... and yet I feel like I see it with surprising frequency. It drives me crazy, please get a fact checker.

#that's said it's also the bad takes and bad attitudes #hearing dr who fans so eager to hate on writers and stories and act like their opinion is gospel always annoys me #I'll hate on dr who but I never want people to think my opinions are the only option or something they must agree with #my posts #talking of bad attitudes one of the hosts in this podcast is both acting like writing fanfic is an inherently inferior way to be a fan #and acting like Big Finish is inherently better and more canon than other parts of the Who EU #they don't mean any harm but they're finding so many ways to grind my gears #Im not going to list anymore examples because this petty vent post is probably already too long jsdklfj

your failteacher yuri AU is so so good. what's so frustrating about persona is that it has plenty of good ideas and characters that get absolutely wasted or mishandled by the actual narrative… like these two teachers. you write them with so much more respect than the games ever did. keep it up!

so as a general rule i don't tend to respond to this Genre of comment or really even enjoy it--as far as my own personal feelings r concerned, "you do [x] better than [source]" (in whatever ways it's phrased) is Not a compliment--but in this instance i gotta say it. they fucked up so bad and it makes me so madJDBHJJNSDB

so... just this once... i'll salute you... im at least glad people like my work and r enjoying a whiff of my beloved women without atlus sabotage ✊

i've said before that p3 hermit and p5 temperance are my favorite links--p5 temperance especially i think is really tight and has an interesting foundation. the actual narrative glue holding that thing together is strong. like the THING is that i don't have to go out of my way to find interesting and compelling material here (and i certainly don't have to make it up from whole cloth or anything)

i would hate for people to have the impression that i'm spinning this all out of nothing or that i hold the source In Contempt or whatever. obviously my concept/inciting incident is zany (haha) and i've added or tweaked a lot of smaller things to better facilitate this specific AU, but this story wouldn't have nearly the legs it does without the genuinely good material they put in those links, and i wouldn't bother making it at all if i didn't seriously love those characters...

...which i guess is kinda what makes it doubly frustrating... that in both cases they've just kind of stapled on some gross stuff that adds nothing (aside from ick factor of course) and doesn't fit with the rest... when "the rest" is genuinely compelling. not only is it a bad move on its own but also it drags down the otherwise good material around itself which is always annoying, yknow... like if it was Just All Bad i would at least be FREE 😭

anyway it's whatever it's whatever . i want to draw a chapter where they talk about their Deep Baggage sooo bad. and i can be like Look. Normal Hermit. Welcome To My Twisted Mind. Or Whatever

Trying to solve technical problems is a fucking roller coaster

Like, it's all fear that you'll get no results when you type it into DuckDuckGo, then it's elation as you get a bunch of results, then disbelief as you realise that this is a very common issue, but everyone actually has slight variations on it and there are thirty different fixes floating around, and then despair as none of the fixes work for you, then hope as you find a forum post of someone describing the exact variant of the issue you have, and then utter contempt for humanity as the only response is someone calling OP an idiot for not already doing one of the fixes you've already tried

#i'm at the point where the only remaining options for getting BG3 to load with sound consistently and not crash seems to be fucking with #the BIOS or nuking my entire windows install #it usually works the first time I load the game but gods forbid I shut it down to play something else for a couple of hours or get some wor #done without my fans running constantly #then the game either crashes on start up or loads with no sound #and yes i have done every other fix int he reddit and steam community forum threads #except install on a different harddrive because I only have the one

Sonic OC inspired by that kind of weird retcon-ish thing where Silver can't actually time travel on his own and instead just has random time portals happen to him, something that I affectionately refer to as him being "Cursed By God". This character is also cursed by god in a different manner. She doesn't really get to have any especially useful powers or go on fun adventures or anything like the other sonic characters she just has to live in a Twilight Zone episode for her whole life. I got kind of excited about her so she comes with an excess of information and an arbitrarily high effort picture. Her extremely long name amuses me
