Spoiled Surprises?
Pairing: Mashirao Ojiro x Reader
Genre: Fluff

Notes: Here’s my contribution to the bnharem collab! I really hope that yoy guys like it!
Over the years, our relationship had evolved more than I could have ever imagined. We had started off as two dumb kids stumbling through adulthood together, sharing laughter and shouting matches. But now we had grown, still young at heart but well settled into the world around us. Things were placid and yet never boring with them. I wanted nothing more than to spend my days together forever.
Finally, I worked up the courage to buy them a ring.
That's where you stopped reading. You knew that you shouldn't have pried into his personal journal but he had left it on the table and it was open. Sheepishly you set it back down and went about your business. He had bought you a ring? Did that mean that he planned on proposing to you? You couldn’t deny that you had a pep in your step the day that you found it.
Fast forward two weeks and you had been quiet about it because you knew how much he wanted it to be a surprise. Your Valentine’s Day started out relatively normal except for the single rose that laid on your bedside table. Underneath the rose was a note.
Y/N I wish that I could be there to see your face when you see this but I took an early shift so that we could do something special tonight. Can you follow the clues that I leave you and find the rest of your dozen roses? ~ With Love, Mashirao
You couldn’t help but smile but you didn’t see a clue on the note. Looking closer at the rose you giggled. “There it is.” The clue read Do you remember where I took you for our first date? Find the Menu for it in the house and your next clue will be there.
You remembered exactly where he had taken you because it was still your favorite place to eat. You go into the kitchen and low and behold there is a rose and another note.
Go to the friend that’s invisible but has a big heart. They’ll give you your next clue.
You grinned and haphazardly pulled on a tank top and a too-big t-shirt, that was Ojiro’s and a pair of jeans. You started walking out the door when you realized that you hadn’t put on your shoes or brushed your hair. It took a few minutes to get all of the knots out of your hair before you hurried out of the door and walked toward your best friend’s house.
“Y/N! Ojiro must have some sort of surprise for you! Uh He told me to give you this and tell you to go see the friend that’s always too loud and screams all the time!” Tooru said excitedly as you reached her and you mentally sighed of all the people that you would have to talk to Bakugo was next? Oh well…
“Thanks Tooru, I’ll see you later!” You yelled and started toward Bakugo’s agency, it took you a while to reach it but when you got there you saw a very foul looking Bakugo standing at the door.
“Here’s your fucking rose and he told me to tell you to go see the friends that always have the answers. Whatever the hell that means.” Bakugo said and you nodded for a second as you walked away trying to figure out that clue.
The friends that always had all the answers? Who could that be? Then it hit you, in school, you had gone to Tenya and Momo as tutors and they were always helping you find the answers. You wondered where they would be when you literally ran into Tenya. “Ouch.” You muttered as you stood up and looked at your two friends.
“Hello Y/N, Ojiro asked us to give you this rose,” Tenya said with a smile as you now held five roses in your hands.
“He also told us to tell you to go see the friend that has green hair and scars on his arms,” Momo said and you nodded.
“He also said to tell you that you’re doing a great job following the clues,” Tenya concluded
You nodded and waved as you started walking again “Thanks guys!” You said as you rounded the corner and headed towards Deku’s agency. That was the only friend that had green hair and scars that you could think of.
When you reached his agency you learned that he had just left to stop some villain that had robbed a bank but you were welcome to wait for him to come back. You expected that of him, he was always taking the small jobs just because he could. When he returned he walked into his office and gestured for you to follow. You laughed a little and nodded following him as he handed you a rose.
“Ojiro said that you’d come to me, sorry I kept you waiting but your clue is to go to our former sleepy sensei.” Deku said and you nodded, “I think I saw him in the park with Eri.”
You nodded and giggled as you walked towards the door, “Thanks Izuku, Make sure that you spend time with Ochaco today, you hear?” You say as you skipped out the door and towards the park.
“Ojiro asked Dad to tell you your next clue and give you this but he fell asleep. Here’s your pretty rose, Y/N.” After Eri had told you the next clue you had gone to see Shouto, Mirio, Tokoyami, Present Mic (That had been interesting) and lastly was Ochaco.
She was tasked with helping you get ready for your date with Ojiro, she helped you do your hair and gave you a dress to wear that you had to admit was beautiful. You had been looking at the red, mid-thigh length dress about a week ago and he must have noticed because when you went to put it on Ochaco said, “He said that he knew how much you liked the dress.”
You smiled as you pulled it on opening the door and turning so your friend could help you zip it up. You sat down in a chair as Ochaco started to do your make-up. In the back of your mind, you couldn’t help but think back to the journal entry that you had found two weeks ago. You wondered if he was going to ask you to marry him tonight.
At six o’clock, Ojiro showed up and even though he had bought you the dress he was awestruck as you walked out of the house. “You look absolutely beautiful, Y/N.” You smiled and looked at him, he had dressed up in a tux.
“You don’t look half bad yourself, Mashi.” You said as he wrapped his tail around your waist causing you to grin and lean into him feeling his arm on your shoulder. He led you to the car and opened your door letting you get in before closing it and walking around. He wiped his palms on his pants before he got into the car and started driving.
“Mashi? Where are we going?” You asked him and he just smiled at you.
“If I told you wouldn’t that ruin the surprise, Y/N/N?” He said and you pouted at him, he turned his attention to the road and in less than 10 minutes, the two of you had reached your destination. It wasn’t where you had expected. It was a nice park and he leads you towards the gazebo next to the Koi pond. You weren’t paying much attention but there were blankets and baskets laid out around it and in the gazebo was a beautiful picnic.
Before you sat down however Ojiro gently took your hand and he was down on one knee. Before you could comprehend what was going on you were grinning. “Y/N? Our relationship started when we were young and a little dumb but we’ve grown and waking up next to you every morning has shown me that it’s what I want for the rest of our lives. I love you so much.” He had pulled out a glittering ring and you had started tearing up. “Y/N L/N, will you marry me?”
You hadn’t expected him to go this far with the proposal but it was more than you could have ever imagined. “Yes, god I want to be with you for every single second of every day.” He wasn’t expecting you to tackle him nor were you expecting the sound of applause. You may have known that he had gotten a ring but you didn’t know how he was going to go about the proposal and you were glad that you had stopped reading when you did. This was far better then you could have imagined.
He slipped the ring onto your finger completely ignoring your friends that had seemingly come out of nowhere. “Are you ready to eat now my love?” He asked you and you nodded with a smile.
Friends had come from different directions congratulating the two of you and you smiled at each one, most were the ones that you had seen throughout the day. It was all great fun, a party with your friends and getting proposed to. Who could be happier?
“You know I found your journal a couple weeks ago…” You said and Ojiro chuckled.
“You did? Then you knew?” He asked looking a little sad and you quickly shook your head.
“All I knew is that you had gotten a ring. Thank you for making this the best Valentine’s Day that I’ve ever had.” You said and smiled at him wrapping your arms around him.
“Oh good.” He sounded relieved before he kissed the top of your head and wrapped his tail around you bringing you closer.
