My Hero Forge Color 3D Prints — Half-Elf Swashbuckler with Bonus Hood Raven Edition
Tumblr media
I got another Color 3D Print of one of my Hero Forge creations. I'm very happy with how this one turned out. The color gradient on the blade is especially nice.

Inspired by Ember, a half-elf character I played back in D&D 3.5E in the early naughties. I don't remember the full details of her character build, but her main weapon was an Elven Thinblade from when it was first introduced in Dragon Magazine #275 in September of 2000.

Here's a closeup of her face, along with her raven, Xander, chilling in her hood. Even though it took some shenanigans to get Hero Forge to do this, it translated pretty well to print, even if my phone camera struggled to get a decent shot of that small of a detail. May need to touch up the eyes with yellow paint to make them stand out. No touch up is needed for that unruly mop of anime hair, which is partly due to me having no shame and partly due to the source material that was the original visual inspiration for the character.

Both of these pieces by Todd Lockwood were, I believe, candidates for D&D 3E's Sorcerer Iconic Character, losing out to I-have-so-many-belts-even-Final-Fantasy-told-me-it-was-excessive Hennet.
Both designs have "hip windows" where pockets should be, a feature I was able to implement in Hero Forge through a combination of Double Mini Stacking and leg decals.
The Double Mini Stacking also let me be more elaborate with the clothing layering and allowed for twice as many side items hanging from her belt.
The second Lockwood piece also ended up becoming concept art for WotC's D&D Mini #40090 Half Elf Sorceress. I had previously used this mini as a conversion base for the character. Lost that mini in a move, so it's nice to have an update version that's even better than that early attempt.
