Illusion, Analysing Illusion Photography, Andreas Franke
Andreas Franke is a photographer who uses photo manipulation in his work at Staudinger+Franke, a Vienna based photography studio.

Meat Shoe
When a photographer uses photo manipulation in the way that Andreas Franke has done with the above images, I think that in order for the image to be successful, the message needs to translate to the viewer.
I couldn’t find any information on any of these images, or why Franke chose to create them.
The Meat series of images brings forth connotations of animal rights campaigns, but I’m not sure if that was the photographer’s intention. The type of meat the photographer has used looks a bit like prosciutto ham. For me, this has quite neutral connotations. Seeing the hat, shoes and bag made out of this substance isn’t necessarily unsettling or disturbing.
However, the lipsticks that have been replaced with meat are more unnerving.
Tumblr media
Caviar Tube
I prefer this image of the caviar tube to the images of the meat accessories. I think that the concept is clearer and feels more satisfying.
The photographer has taken the idea of a tube that looks similar to a tomato puree tube and changed the shape to that of a fish. He has then made it look as though caviar is coming out of the tube.
This is a good example of how creative manipulation can be used to create fun conceptual objects that don’t exist in the real world.
The image appears to have been shot in a studio with controlled lighting, and this will have allowed the photographer maximum creative control and ease when compositing images together.
The image has been made with a white background. This brings our full focus to the object and subject of the photo, which is the caviar tube.
The white background gives the image a slightly clinical feel, and when I first looked at the image, I thought it was maybe an advertisement for cod liver oil, rather than an image of caviar.
This could be a deliberate choice. The white background is something that is also used when photographing food though, so the photographer may have chosen it because of this.
The photographer has chosen a diagonal composition, where the object is taking up most of the frame, with some empty space at the sides. There are shadows underneath the objects. These shadows might be real or they could have been added in photoshop.
The caviar that is already out of the tube looks like it might have just been shot that way, but the caviar coming out of the tube was probably photoshopped to be that way.
I think the caviar tube image is successful because the photographer has chosen shapes and textures that are similar and replaced something familar with something out of the ordinary, but of a similar shape and texture.
For example, I think the reason the choice of a fish works in place of a metal tube, is that the fish is bizarre but not completely different. It might be roughly the same size as the tube, and also something that you could squeeze. If the photographer had chosen something completely hard, it wouldn’t be as effective because we need to be able to imagine that you could squeeze the tube and the caviar would come out.
Again, with the choice of caviar, it works because we can imagine it being squishy and being stored in a tube, as well as coming out when squeezed. If the photographer had chosen something completely hard, it wouldn’t have made sense I don’t think.
I think this is what the Illusion project was all about. Choosing objects that had similar properties to something else, and then switching them out to create something believable but strange.

Motorhome rental New Zealand
I made a marriage proposal to Tess at Cape Reinga and she said yes. Family Staudinger We would like to thank you for the very good organization of our New Zealand trip. Driving around New Zealand in a motorhome doesn't just have advantages. But I can assure you that buying a car in New Zealand is rather uncomplicated. You start your tour by camper through New Zealand in Nelson on the northern tip of the South Island. You should definitely pay a visit to the World of Wearable Art and Classic Cars Museum - sleek vehicles from the 20th century.
Why bestCAMPER is the right partner for your motorhome trip:
That's really something, right? An app shows you where to find Spark Stations in New Zealand. Internet and New Zealand - that doesn't necessarily go together. WiFi is not included - if at all - on most campsites.
Tumblr media
How much is 4 weeks New Zealand?
All in all, the New Zealand costs Mighty campervan for my husband Florian and me totaled around 3,000 euros. That makes about € 1,500 per person over four weeks, which roughly corresponds to a daily budget of € 50 per nose. These are also the travel expenses with which we both calculated at the beginning of our trip.
Tumblr media
New Zealand offers you a route network of around 92,000 kilometers, which is surrounded by unique vegetation. From dense rainforest to alpine vegetation zones, almost everything is offered in New Zealand. Experiences from customers and their travel reports have shown that good planning is necessary to keep the rental in New Zealand cheap for the motorhome. Right, New Zealand consists of two large islands. Two ferry operators operate between the North and South Island several times a day to transport you and your camper. You can choose between The Interislander and the Bluebridge. Both differ only minimally in price.
Wild camping is widespread in New Zealand.
At Cape Reinga I have Tess made a marriage proposal and she said yes.
For a day trip, pack all your belongings again and again.
The road south takes you further to the surf town of Whangamata and the breathtaking gorge Karangahake Gorge.
Bungee jumping, canyoning, skydiving, kayaking, surfing, black water rafting, jet boating, zoorbing, swimming with dolphins, whale watching, shark diving, boat tours on the Milford Sound, sky walks, wine tours, kiwi & penguins watching, helicopter tours with glacier hikes, scenic Flights, visit the Hobbington film set - just to name a few. There is hardly a place in New Zealand that does not market its unique experiences. Are you traveling through New Zealand with your own vehicle? Even in the smallest towns or in the middle of the highway. I have never seen such a generous disposal situation anywhere else. We found the disposal stations as well as numerous campsites in the "Rankers" app. Many places through which we came were relatively unadorned. Simple wooden buildings, without pretty gardens, a lot of junk spread around the property and there was a lot of rubbish everywhere.
Tumblr media
So the question of whether you prefer to rent a camper or buy it directly answers itself. If you are traveling for more than two months, the purchase is worthwhile. When buying a camper, car or motorhome, you have the advantage that you can theoretically save money by selling the vehicle again at the end of your trip. Nevertheless, you take the risk in the event of an accident, it is not guaranteed that you will get the purchase price back.
How much does a flight ticket to Australia cost?
The distance (distance or distance) between Germany and Chile is about 12,514 km as the crow flies. div> div> div> No problem. Drive to Spark Station, surf the internet and then enjoy your trip offline.

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen's Bridesmaid Dresses Were Unique to Say the Least – eonline
[ad_1] But what else would you expect? Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen stood beside their long-time bestie, Gomelsky creative director Cassie Coane, this weekend as she wed Jim Koenig in a private NYC ceremony in quite unique dresses. The whole bridal party (which included the likes of fellow fashion girls Sarah Staudinger of Staud and Harley Viera-Newton of HVN) was perfectly mismatched in sparkling…

Composite Research
Tumblr media
I really like Simen Johan’s work as I love the surrealist nature of it and also that it is so subtle. I think with this particualr image that Johan has taken two seperate images of flamingos and the seamlessly composited them together to create the above effect. I think the background could have possibly been added also as it seems to be sitting at a slightly different level from where the flamingos would be standing. However overall the image seamlessly works together to create this amazing image.
Tumblr media
Erik Almas’ images are more obviously composited as can be seen above, however I still like his images, they are more surrealist and dreamy than other more subtle composites. In the above image for example the majority of the image if not all has been shot seperately, the dog, the landscape, the bubble, everything. I think also the lighting is very artificial aka it is clear it has been added afterwards to give a more dreamy effect. Also, the bubble doesn’t seem as realistic as everything else in the image as it doesn’t really sit properly.
Tumblr media
Jane Long’s images are all very surrealist and take many different components shot seperately to make one image, such as above. The girl will have been shot in a studio and the light, background and smoke will all either be shot seperate or will made in photoshop. Long’s images are almost more photoshop than shooting I would say as many of her images are very fictional so require this level of fantasy and surrealism. So for her images especially for portraiture, she would initially have to shoot the model in the studio thinking about what light she would have to create in order to then simulate afterwards in photoshop and creating the light in photoshop.
Tumblr media
Franke Staudinger’s images all seem to have messages behind them, whether theyshow humour or a more deep underlying message such as above. A lot of Staudinger’s images look at new age problems such as renewable energy and pollution. In this image all has been shot seperately and some even drawn in photoshop maybe? There’s hundreds of different componenents to this image in particular such as the man was shot maybe in a studio seperate from all the landscape images. These would have been shot seperately. Overall it is obvious this is a composite image as it is not very subtle however it is still seamless and once again gives that surreal look.
Tumblr media
Joel Grimes images almost look like video games to me, very cinematic. His subjects are quite clearly and lit in a studio and backgrounds are shot seperately along with dramatic skies etc. It is obvious that this is a composite as you can see the light coming from the left hand side when the light in the background seems to be coming more straight on from the left so a slightly different angle maybe? Also the seperate studio shots allow for light to be moulded how he would like meaning he can make his subject just how he would like such as showing or accentuating features like her abs.
