Just a pokèmon regency au that’s been in my head!

Maybe let’s call it the diamond in the rough au?

It follows the stories of many lords and ladies looking for love or those who have already found it (Lenora/Grant and Viola but I’ll expand on that)

Take Lady Elesa Longmore the adopted daughter of the famous Duchess Juniper Longmore or just The duchess of Nuvema and her Husband Freidcrich The duke of Nuvema.

She’s extremely social, a wonderful lady but if she’s so perfect then why has no man offered their hand to Lady Elesa. Well it seems someone else has her heart.

Lady Skyla Featherin, daughter of the viscount of Mistralton. She’s timid but not too timid loves watching the clouds wishing she could be up there in the sky all the time.

That’s who Elesa has fallen for, but can’t actually tell anyone without bringing supposed shame upon her family.

So on the night of The annual Ball In Nuvema they manage to sneak out together, but this causes some problems for others who are connected to them.

Elesa’s friends the Twins Lords Emmet and Ingo have to lie to her mother and say that she was with a suitor and didn’t want to be disturbed.

Skyla’s little (adopted) sister Hilda has to chase her down for her friend Lord Burgh of Castelia who’s supposedly interested in Skyla (he isn’t actually he’s already engaged to someone he loves but has to do it for his parents) When she discovers them she promises to keep her mouth shut for the two of them.

Lady Lenora Fletcher (our lady Danbury in this au kinda) sees this all unfold, and with her good friends Juniper (yes she knows her daughter is probably not straight) and Fennel (a very shy lady of Nuvema) to hatch a plan to get Skyla and Elesa together.

Along with this Lenora decides that it may be time for her to help others who may be in love.

In comes Lady Viola Allen and her sister Alexa from Kalos.

Longing for freedom on the night of the ball trying to avoid all suitors that may come in her way she ends up meeting her ex Grant Campbell.

He happens to be here for his friends wedding (the exact same wedding that she’s in Unova for) and they butt heads like they usually do if they meet.

Lenora happens to find them in an extremely flustered state and knows that they must have some sort of past. She takes Viola and Alexa under her wing and invites them too stay with her and her husband Hawes.

One night Viola drunkenly admits that she wants Grant back but doesn’t feel like she has a chance because she probably ruined it.

So Lenora and Alexa decide to help Viola out (because they both know that either of them aren’t over each other and their still in love)

Finally You have Lady Shauntal Blackwood an author who lives in the seaside town of Undella.

She’s kinda of the reason someone close to her is having an affair.

Basically her cousin Karen is Engaged to Lord Grimsley Daaè but she’s in love with someone else and basically she knows that they like each other so she doesn’t really care but still feels guilty (This is Karen I’m talking about) so she kinda doesn’t say anything to ruin what is expected of her in society.

Lenora is the one Shauntal confides in and ends up getting told to just kiss him and see how he acts.

She does and Grimsley breaks of his engagement to Karen because he realises he’s had the biggest crush on his close friend for years and needs to make it up to her!

This allows Karen to marry will her best friend and now fiancé! Who’s basically just watched this with full glee for some reason.

Nimbasa City Warden - Part 19

Ingo had agreed with Officer Penn to return to the station to close Emmet’s case and sign paperwork. He made the quick phone call to Professor Juniper and explained to her the situation, then was reassured that Juniper would happily come and assess the situation- even knowing that the pokemon may hatch ‘dangerous’. Ingo was still trying to figure out what to do with the remaining pokemon that he’d taken responsibility for.

He’d sent Elesa a quick text message informing her that he was leaving for the hospital and that he would arrive shortly. He’d explain everything else when he saw her and Emmet. Unfortunately, Emmet’s phone hadn’t been recovered- Ingo felt it safe to assume that Jermy still had it with him.

He crossed the street- he was a block away from the hospital and was definitely out of view of the police station. He heard an indistinct yell, followed by heavy hoofbeats. Ingo barely had a moment to take a look at what he thought was another bouffalant. Instead, an alpha wyrdeer hit him from the left side, knocking him halfway across the street and crashing him onto the pavement painfully.

Ingo took a deep, pained breath, the impact having knocked the wind completely out of him. He blinked the stars from his vision and gripped his left shoulder as he tried forcing himself to sit up.

“Wyrdeer- do psyshield bash again.” Jermy’s voice said.

Ingo gasped and sent out the first pokemon he could grab from his belt in a panic. LightRail materialized in front of him and blocked the attack, but was knocked out almost immediately. Ingo forced himself to his feet and called back his strongest chance against a psychic/normal pokemon. He winced and grabbed his arm once more, almost dropping LightRail’s pokeball. He stumbled, noticing a burn on the wyrdeer’s head where it had made impact with LightRail. The following pokemon Ingo had sent out to try and fend off the wyrdeer’s attacks, Ingo would try and call out commands, but either he was too out of breath to speak, or his pokemon would be knocked out before he had the chance to get anything out. His left arm was useless, the ribs on his left side throbbed and were likely broken, his heart pounded in his ears and his vision was starting to darken. He squinted to try and stay focused.

It was down to Spike- a durant and Emmet’s most inexperienced pokemon, and despite the first impression and the x-scissor Ingo had forced out instructed, even Spike had gone out in one hit.

Ingo recalled Spike to his pokeball. The fact that this wyrdeer had just taken out twelve consecutive pokemon all in one attack each and didn't even show any signs of wear despite the burn on his forehead… left Ingo scared.

Wait…

Ingo's trembling hand hovered over Irida's ball. But he couldn't send her out- she was at a huge disadvantage, she did not know how to battle and he hadn't had the chance to take her to a pokemon center since her fight with Axle.

And the alarms in his head were blaring, begging him to run away. Breathing had become a chore, he couldn't feel his left hand anymore, and he definitely hit his head when he hit the pavement. Given the size of the wyrdeer- cloned from Guard- he had been hit by the equivalent of a car.

"Was that all you had?" Jermy asked, putting his hands on his hips.

The two men had failed to recognize the scene they were causing. Some people were recording on their phones, some even live-streaming it.

Ingo swallowed hard, forcing himself to take steady, even breaths, but it wasn't happening. He began to step back.

"Well- this absolute monster of a pokemon just took out all twelve pokemon trained by the subway bosses themselves." Jermy announced, acknowledging one of the recorders.

Ingo tried stepping back while Jermy was distracted. Irida couldn't fight, none of them could. And Ingo could barely breathe and see straight, much less speak without feeling like he was going to pass out or try and-

Wyrdeer had tackled Ingo again. This wasn’t another psyshield bash fortunately, but Ingo was still knocked down again.

“Man- you didn’t even try to dodge that one.” Jermy stood over him, snapping his fingers a few times to prompt the wyrdeer to step back. “Stand up, I wanna see how you dodged that bouffalant.” he said, offering a hand.

Ingo glared at all four images of Jermy with half-lidded eyes, he took in a rattling breath before taking the offered hand. Once he was finally, barely on his feet, he stumbled. Jermy gripped his shoulder in an attempt to stabilize him, “Shake it off, Big Guy.” he patted his shoulder firmly, as though to encourage him like he wasn’t gasping and panting. Jermy walked back behind the wyrdeer, and waved a hand, “Psyshield Bash.”

The wyrdeer kicked up dirt, preparing to charge. Ingo’s hearing began to ring. Things were beginning to double. The world was starting to look sideways? No, it was spinning. No, that’s the pavement-

Ingo fell forward and collapsed onto the pavement. He tried forcing himself up with a shaking right arm, but only fell back down.

Wyrdeer was charging. Ingo had two seconds to move before he was trampled and killed. A flash of white and Irida stood in front of him, having forced herself out of the pokeball in a vain attempt from stopping the attack.

Ingo barely made out shoes that ran up and stood by him, a pair of… black sneakers? No- grey… and a pair of mismatched red and blue heels… yelling… a new pair of… was that pokemon?

Elesa…

Elesa had tried talking to him…

But everything had gone black…

i noticed you didn't have a ship tag for serena x dawn for that fanart do you ship them? what other ships do you have for the protags? sorry if this has been asked before

I mean, I think they’re cute. The V/Palentines event in Masters brought about some really cute fanart for Serena/Dawn, and when playing through the event / seeing their dialogue in the Pokémon Center I think it’s easy to see why. I wouldn’t say I actively ship them, but I do like the art that I’ve seen and if Masters did want to set them up, I’d be down for it.

As for other ships . . . honestly I’m not too passionate about any of the protagonist ships. This is especially true for Gens VI, VII, and VIII, because with the benefit of character customization I play those games as myself, and as a result I end up wanting to adopt the characters that other people in the fandom ship the player characters with. Like for instance, when I played SM/USUM, I didn’t ship the player character with Lillie or Gladion because I was too busy wanting to adopt them both as my children instead. I understood why other people shipped the player character with Lillie or Gladion, but it wasn’t for me because I felt a desire to parent them instead, given that I’m so much older than they are. So while other players saw ship tease, I just saw myself signing custody documents for them.

That said, protagonist ships that I like well enough are:

Any combination of the Kanto Trio, including an OT3

Red/Misty

Lyra/Silver

Brendan/May (in ORAS)

Dawn/Serena

Gloria/Marnie

Victor/Hop

Gen V isn’t listed because I see the Gen V protagonists very differently from how they’re presented by TPCi. For me, Hilda is Lea, and I ship Lea and N as a queer-platonic partnership because they’re both aro/ace, but I see Lea as the true protagonist of BW and it’s undoubtable that she and N had a huge effect on each other. Additionally, Hilbert is Blair, a shy boy who pairs well with Bianca. But that’d be too much to explain in a bulleted list, so. And while I did play SwSh as myself, I do like art I’ve seen of Gloria/Marnie and Victor/Hop, so I like both of those ships as well.

That said, gameverse ships I like that don’t involve the player characters are much larger in number:
