Crywolf sheds his skin and becomes something beautiful in the closing chapter of oblivion, ‘Exuvium’ [Interview]
Since the beginning of the Crywolf project, the music has always expressed elements of introspection and self-discovery. Through the artist’s own battles with mental health, the experiences and lessons learned throughout their journey have been exhibited front and center throughout the music. On top of being an extremely talented musician in his own right, the background also gives the music an…
Barkin Drops Thunderous Bass House Single, “Feels Like” [Lift Off Recordings]
Barkin’s vision is to make the masses dance. The New-York based Producer/DJ has developed an electrifying sound, filled with intensity while being beautiful and groovy at the same time. While his drops will get your feet moving, each track has a meaning to be unfolded. He loves his drums and always takes extra care to make sure each sound has its place.
Now, he’s back with a brand new single “Feels Like” off of Lift Off Recordings. It’s a bass house banger, fueled by punchy basslines mixed with fiery synths that are sure to light up the clubs. He tastefully works with a pitched down vocal in the breakdowns to build energy and anticipation for each climactic drop.
Here’s what Barkin had to say about it:
“I am so excited for my debut track ‘Feels Like.’ I have been working diligently over the last two years to create my sound and this is the perfect track to show it off. I love the energy it brings and I feel like (pun intended) the drop is a surprise in a way. I have always enjoyed making tracks that bring the unexpected. ‘Feels Like’ does this while bringing the heat.”

I Had an insane amount of fun putting This one together & it's one of my best pieces I personally think. Enjoy as I pour my own life force to create these insane vibes
After a break, I've poured my heart and soul into something special: an album that's like an empowering playlist. Among new tracks, I’ve revisited classics, reimagining them all. Every track on this album is my own production.
Massive thanks to the incredible talents who've joined me on this adventure. Ziv @zivshalit from Israel, with stunning vocals on "Not Giving In." Nikita @kirschgartenboy, adding his voice on "Music In You." And the incredible (‘Supernature’) #AnyaKaye @anyakayeofficial. We share a history spanning 25 years – she's an absolute gem, always a joy! Special thanks to the lovely Nestroy choir who joined in on ‘The Art is Done’ and other tracks in a rushed session. Thanks to Sarah and her string ensemble for ‘True That’, ‘Marian’, ‘The Art is Done,’ and additional strings on other tracks.
The artwork captures me transformed into a robot; a photograph altered into a half-animated creature, symbolizing the dual complexities beneath our sunny exteriors ('Disco Beach Beat Machine'). This album explores the contrast between the moon ('Insomnia') and the sun ('Live Life'), the water ('Marian') and air ('Disco Beach'). It features gritty vocals ('Till & Jill'), dance beats, and a choir that resonates with us ('The Art is Done'). Lyrically, it reflects the realities of our double standards, society's demands that hide the struggles beneath. With one message: stay on your path, keep on, don’t give up, despite the noise.
It's a gentle reminder that within each of us there’s a wellspring of positivity. By letting that positivity shine, we attract goodness. This album mirrors the challenges faced by all of us in tumultuous times marked by global economic instability, the past pandemic, and conflicts between nations. It's an empowering, self-affirming #uplifting soundtrack, encouraging you to embrace your emotions and unleash your inner shine and spirit.
