Manchester United 3 - 0 Leicester City

After a nervy first half that saw Leicester City having all of the chances, United finally got themselves back into the match thanks to a goal from Marcus Rashford. Before Rashford scored his first goal, United were only able to keep the score at 0-0 thanks to some clutch saves from David de Gea.

The second half saw United truly dominate from the get go. Rashford scored a second goal that was originally saw it be marked as offside by the linesman but for once VAR was on our side and proved that it was not. A few minutes later Sancho scored an absolutely beautiful goal. 

United could have had more as Dalot missed a goal, Licha hit the bar, and Weghorst had several chances saved. 

Next up for United are two major matches. First they will host Barcelona for the second leg of the Europa League and then they will travel to Wembley for the Mickey Mouse Cup Carabao Cup Final

honestly what a win, deffo up there for one of our best performance of the season but not the best because my god was that first half scrappy. thank fuck for david de gea and he fr silenced the haters and showed why he is still one of the best gks in the prem. i can’t analyse the first half too much bc i listened to the majority of it on the radio so i didn’t really see much play

i did see all 3 goals and it’s a shame rashford didn’t get a hatrick but two is better than nothing. it’s so nice to see sancho on the score sheet and for him to score against leicester at home and away. wout weghorst mate idk what u have done to the team bc literally everyone was trying to get u to score but it just wasn’t meant to be for whatever reason. the licha header was close but dalot bro u should’ve banged ur chance in had u used ur left foot.

in terms of overall play, the second half was far better and united were in control of the game. i still think garnacho is better when he comes off the bench but if we don’t start him, he won’t improve and he’s young too like i’m not ripping in to him, he’s a phenomenal player but he makes way more difference coming off the bench than he does starting and that’s just bc of the speed of play and how different the game is at the start vs the end

last thing is the title race. i’ve been saying for quite some time now i still don’t think despite the results, united are capable of winning the league bc yes we are playing phenomenal, yes we are only 5 points behind arsenal and 3 behind city but unlike them two, we are still in 4 competitions and we lack the squad depth city and arsenal have. as in if any of our midfield gets injured we will have to turn to mainoo and iqbal to step up bc we don’t have anyone else. top 4 and carabao cup are still what i want from this season and anything else is literally a really nice extra surprise. i think we could come close but this squad is far from the finished product and when we get the players we need maybe then we can talk about title races and that

overall a solid 8.7/10 would be higher but the first half was just far too poor apart from rashy’s goal and david de gea’s saves

Habis melihat film dokumenter David Beckham yang tayang di Netflix, dari awal karir sampai dia jadi pemilik klub Inter Miami termenung lihatnya karena nostalgia masa kecil dimana sejak mencintai sepakbola lalu mengenal sosok pemain flamboyan satu ini yang membawa gue akhirnya pelan tapi pasti menjadi pengikut klub berlambangkan setan merah ini. Selalu antusias menunggu akhir pekan, karena bukan hamya dibikin takjub sama performa tim saat itu dimana ada sekumpulan anak2 muda dipimpin oleh pria yang mau gimana potongan rambutnya ga pernah jelek tapi mereka suguhkan itu dng penampilan yang sangat menginspirasi karena penuh dedikasi, semangat juang tinggi dan ga mau kalah sampai peluit akhir ditiup, kalo pun kalah, bisa dipastikan itu mesti ada perlawanan.

Akhirnya setelah SAF pergi, keadanaan pun berbalik, kapal pun oleng. apa yang udah disusun rapih sama orang yang biasa dipanggil The Boss itu hancur berantakan. Klub menjadi money oriented tanpa peduli hasil di lapangan dan walhasil, kalo dulu selama 2 dekade lebih klub ga pernah keluar dari posisi 3 besar minimal 1 trophy tiap musimnya, hasil selama 10 musim terakhir adalah 4 piala kejuaran tanpa berhasil menjuarai liga. Perlahan tapi pasti, tertinggal sama rival sekota yang menjelma menjadi kekuatan baru. yang dahulu kita sebut tetangga berisik, musim kemarin bisa juara di 3 kompetisi berbeda alias treble.

1 step forward, 2 step back. jadi tidak asing dengan yang namanya kalah. Terlalu inkonsisten. gw pikir aib sebesar kalah 7-1 itu udah aib terbesar ternyata tim masih aja bermain spt tim amatir, medioker. satu bulan belakangan, main di kandang seperti main tandang. main jelek, tidak punya passion dan semangat juang tinggi, para pemain senior yang egois, silih berganti pemain membuat blunder dan ini yang paling memalukan, ada pemain dengan sengaja berhenti berlari mengejar lawan. Yups, ada beberapa pemain begitu. Padahal dukungan publik Old Trafford itu udah luar biasa banget. Bingung banget, perlu motivasi apa lagi untuk para pemain ini?

Melihat determinasi beckham ketika tidak terpilih oleh SAF atau FAbio Capello tapi tetap tidak berkecil hati malah ingin semakin membuktikan, lalu baca ada kabar katanya para pemain Gen Z tidak bisa dilatih dengan cara diteriakkin dari pinggir lapangan atau tough love seperti Jadon Sancho yang reaksional ketika Erik Ten Hag menjawab pertanyaaan mengapa dibawanya Sancho dlm partai melawan Arsenal yang berkembang si pemain tidak mau minta maaf. I mean what the fuck? Pemain yang sama yang diberi libur 3 bulan oleh manajer karena ada keluarga berpulang lalu sejak itu mentalnya drop, masih tetap lo lawan di publik? tidak aneh kalo sekarang klub ini jadi bahan lelucon left right center bahkan oleh pihak yang tidak ada hubungannya dengan sepakbola. lalu musti gimana berhadapan dengan pemain dengan gaji 350k pound perminggu yang notabene kontribusinya sejak gabung 2 musim lalu pun minim. minta banyak tapi ngasih dikit itu gimana konsepnya?

Klub yang gw cintai selama 30thn ini semakin kehilngan jati diri, bukan lagi klub sepakbola yang orientasinya hasil di lapangan melainkan bisnis karena walaupun punya hutang bejibun, klub ini tetap mampu mendapatkan sponsor dengan nilai yang wah. Klub ini udah rusak kepalanya yaitu pemilik keluarga Glazers, yang udah mau setahun tidak jelas apakah klub ini mau dijual or tdk yang berakibat ada semacam ketidak stabilan di klub. Blm lagi masalah baru pas muncul di lagi UCL kemarin ini, konon tiket musiman yang sudah dibeli oleh supporter tuan rumah malah diisi oleh suporter lawan dan ditempelin guest di bangku mereka, belum lagi para suporter lawan dibiarkan saja melakukan aksi vandalisme mencopat spanduk yang ada di stadium. udah ga harga dirinya banget klub ini

Blm lagi player power. tadinya gw menolak konsep ini, yaitu semacam konsep yang ada bhw para pemain ini sengaja melempar manajer ke bawah bus utk dipecat karena merasa mereka bernilai lebih utk klub karena gaji mereka mahal dan kalo mereka tidak suka sama manajer or pelatih, mereka sengaja tampil buruk toh para pemain ini aman ga bisa dipecat selalu manajer yang digantung kalo hasil buruk dan mereka bisa beralibi seperti Sancho: merasa sudah berbuat yang terbaik tapi ga di apresiasi. jadi manajer itu fungsinya apa yah?

well, last thing, muak melihat segala drama yang terjadi di klub ini, karena itu berarti makanan empuk buat para media abu, engagementnya tinggi bgt euy kalo yang berhubungan dengan MUFC ... kunci mobil onana jatuh aja bisa jadi berita kan. Goks kan? Belum lagi ejekan2 ... tapi yah udah kadung cinta yang ada cuma bisa mendoakan semoga cepat sembuh dan balik ke marwahnya or at least put some fight for the badge lah. The final game of the season, with top 4 secured, could have been a chance for rest, rotation, and testing the mettle of younger players. Instead, Erik Ten Hag stuck with a near-strongest side with the aim of guaranteeing a third place finish and perhaps working on tactics and game sharpness ahead of the FA Cup final.

United looked decent in the first half but a defensive switch-off from Marcus Rashford allowed Kenny Tete to jump unchallenged and nod in an easy header from a corner.

Worse followed, with a clumsy track-back challenge from Casemiro on Tom Cairney earning Fulham a penalty. Thankfully we finally saw a penalty save from David De Gea - and yet another failed conversion from Aleksandar Mitrović.

From here, Manchester United woke up. The tempo remained strong, but unlike the Chelsea game there wasn't a lack of ideas. United kept driving forward, with some direct running from Garnacho, Bruno, and Fred - the latter who ultimately assisted Sancho for the equaliser.

Rashford could have had goal no31 for the season / no18 for the league but fluffed a fair chance, but it was Fred again the man of the moment with a killer through-ball into acres of space for Bruno Fernandes to coolly slot home.

2-1 really should have been 3-1 with a peach of a chance falling to Wout Weghorst at back post near the end of the game, but there's a reason the man hasn't scored in the EPL this season for us. He has the heart and conviction, but just lacks the guile alas.

A decent performance from United against a well-drilled Fulham team always keen to cause an upset. The distraction of the FA Cup derby with Manchester City, as big underdogs, inevitably played a part, but it was good to see that United learned from their mistakes against Chelsea and stuck to the plan and kept at it.
