The Mage Magic article reads Evergreen and Freed Justine were spotted sharing dinner and attending a concert just last night, have the pair finally gone public? Our sources believe so. In fact, someone close to the two mages has said Freed is planning on proposing any day now -

Carena blinked. Then she blinked again. She then counted in her mind, wondering how many times before Mage Magic had decided that she was either engaged-to-be or actually engaged or had just left someone at the altar. This was the eighth time, she supposed. At first, it had been frustrating, but by now? She had been able to find humour in it. And at very least, this time, she knew the person she was supposedly in a romantic relationship with. That had not always been the case in previous articles. She had to be truly talented at having secret relationships if even she did not know about them.

Then, she lifted her gaze and looked straight at Freed, a smirk growing on her face as she handed over the newspaper. "So for your proposal and the ring," she started as she leaned back in her seat, her grin now almost diabolical as she wiggled her fingers in front of him. "I think I'd like a pear shaped stone? No diamond. Maybe a nice dark emerald? Something to match my eyes. And I'd rather have rose gold than normal gold."

She laughed. She was not lying about her tastes, she was however running with the nonsense of the article because she had long learned that Mage Magic would always write what they thought would sell best---and that short of a lawsuit that she would have no patience for, there was little that would stop them. And laughing about these things was the best way to handle it. That and not taking this all too personal.

Reaching for her teacup, she shook her head. "Ah damn, I owe Bix money now. I was so sure that they'd run with a reconciliatiom plot line, following my alleged affair with Jenny," she continued. "Or your alleged affair with . . . Hibiki, was it? I do vaguely remember a love square article some magazine printed. But apparently, they buried that plot line like the writers for that one light novel bury subplots all the time and now we're just back together? That's poor storytelling."

Another voice message. "Hey Laxus! Just remembered, I heard you've got a great singing voice, is that true?"

He blinked at his MCL a second, trying to process how that'd even gotten started.

Had anyone ever even -- wait. There was definitely at least once he vaguely remembered something happening in Pegasus, some karaoke night or something. He'd been a bit drunk, but people seemed to enjoy it anyway. Or they were even more drunk than he'd been. Probably the more likely reason.

[MSG - Jason]: Singing voice? dunno. Never really been into that kinda thing. [MSG - Jason]: where'd ya hear that??

Awake at a late hour (yet unaware of the time, as was often the case for him), he found himself dialing her mcl. "Lucy! Long time no chat, how are you??"

the vibration and buzzing of her mcl was what woke her from a strange dream (she was miniature size and running away from plue....the war Did leave its marks). she was actually thankful for the late night phone call and pressed the phone to her ear, not bothering to check who it was exactly.

but she'd recognize that voice anywhere.

"jason! h—hey!" a yawn interrupted her and she sat up in her bed, stretching. "well, you know, i'm just waking up. why aren't you asleep? you better not be be awake all night writing again, jason, we talked about this! you need to sleep and the best way to live life is with a consistent sleep schedule!" lucy sighed, forever worried. but she didn't want to nag him. "but....i am happy to hear your voice. i had the WEIRDEST dream!"

"Erza! I heard you once fought ten monsters while you had your hands tied behind your back, is that true??" Anything is possible when it comes to her.

TRUTHFULLY, ERZA HAD BEEN THROUGH countless of fights, each of them with different obstacles. Erza's least favorite is the fights that has her tied up or bound in any way. However, she's fortunate that she'd always ended up as a victor in those duels.

          ❝It's true—kind of. I've heard different spins to that story, which is flattering, with how they overestimate my abilities. Yes, I did have a mission fighting this one big monster and the rest of its minions. I was tied up, but I summoned a sword that was able to cut through the chains. I also had two one-on-one fight with certain people—whose names I will not disclose. I outsmarted one with my most flexible armor. For the other, let's just say there's a lot of footwork involved.❞

"I heard you were injured on a mission recently and had to stay in a village during a snow storm. That must have been rough! How are you feeling now? Did you get well looked after?"

Compared to other journalists, Carena had to hand to Jason that he possessed ethics. And this was why out of the crowd of press people, she tended to favour him whenever she found herself in a position where she had to talk to the press. But still, Jason was a reporter. And because he was a reporter, it was sometimes difficult for her to be certain if a question was asked out of sincere interest or if he was looking for a story. And with reporters like the ones working for Mage Magic, this concern was ever-present when she really did not want it to eat into her mind.

"Jason, hello." She smiled politely as she shifted the weight of her purse just a little, trying to gauge in which role he had appeared in front of her. She did not see a notepad, so this might be a social call. With any other reporter, that idea would be wildly out of character, but this was Jason. "Yes, I was on a solo job out in the mountains---I wanted to go somewhere where people have better things to do than read that horrid Mage Magic article. So I went and I did get injured, but as you can see: I am much better now."

There was no need to mention that she had met up with Gray during her stay north. Especially not when from what she could recall, Gray had never been the darling of the press. And he was someone who valued his privacy, a notion that she could relate to quite well.

She smiled, adjusting her glasses. "I received medical assistance---" from a former guild member who had no formal medical training, but Jason did not need to know that "---and I ended up staying a bit because of a sudden storm, but I'm back to my usual shape now. Say, did you hear anything about the supposed ghost sightings in Iris Town? You usually have good intel."

"Hey Laxus, I heard you're really good with kids and you look after Asuka a lot! Is that true?" The fangirls would Love it.

"I dunno if I'd say I'm good with kids, but I know enough to keep her safe, yeah. I've watched her a few times here and there."

He's pretty sure he knows where this one came from. It's not the worst he can think of getting out, though.

Oh he has no idea.

CYMBELINE ENJOYS THE PROCESS OF CREATION.  it does not matter if she is good at it or not, she likes to doodle in the margins of her notes or glue dried flowers and the like into her journals where she tries out different kinds of handwriting. it is about the process, not about the result. she is slightly perfectionistic in other aspects of her life, especially her magic because it was necessary to be good at that, but art? that is just for her enjoyement. and as long as she is having fun, she thinks she is doing it right.
