Cryo Pod from System Shock 2

Here's a hi-res version of the Cryo Pod from System Shock 2, trying to stay pretty faithful to the original. It’s also made to the exact same scale so that it slots into the level.

It was mainly made to see how much effort re-creating assets would be for my personal SS2 project:

Regarding the model - it’s a bit high-poly for what it is, but originally I wasn’t sure if I was going to use it for pre-rendered assets. I figured I can always bake down some of those polys to the normal map later on if I need to cut it down a bit. It’s also a little bit too weathered for a brand new ship like the Von Braun, but I was hiding my inadequacies as an artist behind grime textures/normals :p

The model was created in 3ds Studio Max and textured in Substance Painter.

it’s very funny to me seeing as pretty much the whole series happens because he loses his wife, but there is something to me about John wick that is so quintessentially malewife energy

Thinking about when I had a dream that turned out to technically be a prophecy bc it perfectly predicted a large plot development in Warframe’s storyline that I hadn’t gotten even close to yet

#ik this sounds silly but im not joking. it was technically just my subconscious guessing/speculating and happening to get it right #but I will still call it a prophecy bc it sounds cooler and isn’t *technically* wrong #for those who don’t care about warframe spoilers #I was very early game & didn’t know about Operators yet and I had a very vivid dream where I was a human(?) inside a cryopod #and I was controlling a warframe with my mind and I compelled it to come to me and take me out of the pod #and take me back to the orbiter #and there’s no way I’d seen anything about it bc I wasn’t playing it with friends and had no contact with the community or other players #was literally just a wild guess that turned out to pretty much hit the nail on the head #it even put me in the correct room that the Operator is in. that room had not been opened at the point in the story I was at #the fact this was a dream specifically also is really funny to me. very thematically accurate format for a warframe plot prediction

my current problem w honkai’s story is the sheer amount of text walls and tell-don’t-show to explain their high concept sci-fi is getting in the way of actually understanding it. Like I cant tell if i missed the entire point of Kevin and Hua’s conversation about Finality because of their habit of saying a lot without actually specifying the exact point.

Man, Dani initially was meant to be a serious, rule-abiding captain who always gets the job done but making her go crazy and feral after all the wormhole jumping is SO much funnier.

During part 2, Dani is so much more frustrated and full of pent up anger that Dani&Mark's dynamic just becomes the Arin&Danny dynamic, with Dani having Arin Battlekid levels of freak outs at crazy junk going on while Mark tries to desperately calm her down while loosing his mind in the background.
