1. “Understand creativity. See Art in the world.
Cool for: Creatives, Psychedelic Fanciers, Critics.
Conceptualization has a special role it wants you to play in this world – not the role of cop, but of Art Cop. It enables you to make fresh associations, to delve into world-concepts from Jan Kaarp’s postmodernist karperie, to Revachol’s arabesque architectural style dideridada, and even the concept of HARDCORE – and then, importantly, to add your own contribution to these works.”
2. “Practice the art of persuasion. Enjoy rigorous intellectual discourse.
Cool for: Ideologues, Conversationalists, Would-Be-Politicians
Rhetoric urges you to debate, make intellectual discourse, nitpick – and win. It enables you to break down arguments and hear what people are really saying. You’ll spot fallacies as soon as they’re used – what exactly did the waiter leave out of their testimony? What was the dancer trying to divert you from? Was that double entendre intended, or did you just get an accidental lead?”
3. “Call upon all your knowledge. Produce fascinating trivia.
Cool for: Thinkers, Historians, Trivia Freaks
Encyclopedia makes you a know-it-all, turning your mind into a database of facts. It enables you to draw on these facts innately, offering a wealth of background knowledge to all things related and unrelated to your case. Who knows when the history of cigarette brands will provide the breakthrough you need to arrest a murderer – or when knowledge of pre-Revolutionary guns might save a life?”

Recent books, non fiction -
Karen Brooks Hopkins, BAM...and Then It Hit Me - this is Brooks Hopkins' memoir of her 36-year career at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), where she initially worked in development and ultimately became the CEO. Brooks Hopkins (or KBH, as she seems to be referred in an institution where acronyms are beloved) is not a great memoirist, but she is clearly an incredibly skilled fundraiser and marketer, and her accounts of honing those skills and putting them to use is fascinating despite rather lackluster accounts that make hardly any space for her or anyone else's inner life. There are a lot of things that are warped and rotten about the whole US system of philanthropy and arts funding; Brooks Hopkins isn't writing as a critic of those systems, but as an extremely canny player of them. I don't think this would be very interesting to people who aren't already invested in BAM and its role in the NYC arts scene, but I enjoyed it a great deal.
Nicole Chung, All You Can Ever Know - memoir of Chung's experience as a transracial adoptee (her birth parents are Korean and her adoptive parents are white), and her journey to learning about and ultimately reconnecting with her birth family. Chung writes gently and empathetically about the complexities of her family experience, but at times it felt like she was holding back (maybe out of consideration for her many still-living family members), and I found myself wanting more (for example, we never actually hear from her how she decided to return to using her birth family's last name, though we know she does because it's how the book is signed). The most moving thread of the story, and the one that will stay with me the most, was the the story of Chung's reconnection with her birth sister.
Reginald Dwayne Betts, A Question of Freedom: A Memoir of Survival, Learning, and Coming of Age in Prison - Betts is a poet (whose poetry I loved before reading this book); this is the memoir of the 8 years he spent incarcerated for a carjacking he committed at 16. I thought this was excellent; I love Betts' style, and his gaze both on the world around him and on his own inner experience was vivid and astute. Many prison memoirs focus on how the author's experience was exceptional in some way, often because they were falsely convicted and don't 'belong' there (as though anyone 'belongs' in a prison); the strength of Betts' book is in the way that he holds at once onto the knowledge that his experience was profoundly statistically unexceptionable, alongside the specificity and uniqueness of his own inner world. Betts writes with great nuance about the quotidian indignities and humiliations of incarceration alongside the beauty of the human connections he makes with the other men there. I loved the way he wrote about his own crime of conviction, his reflection on "choosing to make someone a victim" and how prison never gave him any space to contend with that. Recommended.
Judith Flanders, A Place for Everything: The Curious History of Alphabetical Order - another instance of reading Flanders and being disappointed. This had some fun trivia, but didn't come together into a thesis in the way I would hope.
Robin Wall Kimmerer, Gathering Mosses - I know Kimmerer's more recent book, Braiding Sweetgrass, has gotten a lot of acclaim; I haven't read that one yet. This is a collection of gentle essays on Kimmerer's career studying moss. I know nothing about this field, but Kimmerer's ability to describe the natural world and her obvious love for the mosses she studies carried me along easily, and I enjoyed this a great deal.
Susanne Foitzik and Olaf Fritsche, Empire of Ants - another book by a biological about a field which I know nothing about, though with a very different tone. Foitzik is breezy and playful in her descriptions of the world of the ants she studied; I was very interested in the topic, but sometimes wished she would slow down and cut back a bit on the jokes.

Finally got a chance to enter @far-side-skies Bird Month Challenge, I’ve attempted to participate before, but usually stopped either due to art block, not finishing on time and work. But this month I was determined to actually do the art challenge, and now I have and I defiantly want participate in future Bird Moth Challenges( Assuming I don’t quit half way through -_-; ) And yes, I did color it traditionally with my markers since I’m still figuring out my new drawing tablet and a new art program. So I had to be really careful when I was coloring, as well as trying to find the right colors to fit this months Sea Hawk theme.
So allow me to introduce the famous Atmosian film star Calliope Pandion.
Age: Reported to be around her late 30s( She doesn’t like sharing her real age)
Home Terra: Terra Atmosia
Bio:
Beautiful and very talented, Calliope actually had a pretty rough start to her acting career, taking bit roles and rarely getting a speaking part. But her big break came when a then unknown movie director Carmilla de Luna chose Calliope for her then upcoming movie Desert Heat, a romantic film that needed a beautiful actress to star along side the male Raptor lead. When they finished filming and the film was released, it was a huge hit with audiences( Mainly with human women) and propelled Calliope to stardom. Since then she had starred in multiple films, and has continued to act in more of Carmilla’s films since they both wouldn’t have gotten famous without one another. And with Carmilla, she has been dubbed as “ The Woman Mates With Monsters” by her fans( Her mainly human fans) due to a lot of her films having other species as her love interests. Their are however rumors that she actually hates working with actors and directors of a different species and treats her co stars badly behind the camera and Carmilla’s back, but they have yet to be proven.
Trivia:
- She has starred in about 42 movies in her 10+ years as an actress. - While she does have many fans, she does have her haters, may of which are of the different species of Atmos that criticize how their species are depicted in her films( One Blizzarian hater stated that the film Eternal Snow had depicted Blizzarians saying “Hoser” to many times.)
And that’s Calliope, the idea of a famous actress in Atmos that’s secretly against other species  has actually been on my mind for months, as well as @uncertainty5‘s BMC OC AVADA also giving me inspiration as well.( And no, I don’t think Calliope would work in one of AVADA’s movies since not only she’s heard he mainly makes propaganda films for Cyclonia, but also because he’s a Merb.
And Carmilla de Luna is a female parody of actual director Guillermo del Toro.
I hope you guys like( or hate) Calliope, I had fun drawing her and again, I’m so glad to finally have a chance to enter @far-side-skies Bird Month Challenge.
And good luck to all the other artist who are participating

David Driskell, in addition to being a legendary artist, was an art historian, curator, teacher  and scholar. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums across the country, and his pioneering scholarship informed the current field of African American Art History. As explained by art critic, John Yau, “Driskell never tried to fit in or accommodate his work to prevailing white, avant-garde styles…Rather, he absorbed aspects of various styles and, in the cauldron of his art practice, welded them to his personal visions-flattened, decorated, and resurfaced in his signature style, color, and calligraphy- and melded these forms with Modernist aesthetics and the tradition of Western art.”
Born in Eatonton, Georgia in 1931, the artist was a legendary painter and printmaker, art historian, curator and scholar who paved the way for new thinking about American Art, beginning with  LACMA’s 1976 groundbreaking exhibition, Two Centuries of Black American Art. After attending Howard University, followed by the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1953, the artist worked at Fisk University, playing a central role in overseeing the University’s art collection, and for two decades thereafter taught at the University of Maryland. A small cabin in Falmouth, Maine, purchased in 1961, remained a spiritual home for the artist, who once said, “It’s like a refreshing tonic I dream about when I’m not here”. https://www.farnsworthmuseum.org/.../artist-trivia-david.../

World Tapir Day
Learn about the highly endangered creature known as the tapir, and educate others, volunteer, or donate to help preserve these fascinating mammals.
Let’s dive into the fascinating world of tapirs with World Tapir Day! Celebrated every year on April 27, this day is all about shining a spotlight on these unique creatures. Since its start in 2008, the event has aimed to increase awareness and support for tapir conservation.
Why celebrate tapirs, you ask? Well, many people don’t even know these animals exist. They’re often mistaken for other species, even in places where they naturally live.
Tapirs are crucial for their ecosystems, helping forests grow by spreading seeds. But they’re in danger due to habitat loss and other human activities. World Tapir Day is here to change that by educating people and rallying support for these shy giants.
How can we make a difference? Simple acts like learning more about tapirs, sharing information, and supporting conservation efforts can have a big impact.
You can also donate to organizations working to protect tapir habitats or take part in local events and activities. Together, we can help ensure tapirs thrive for generations to come.
History of World Tapir Day
World Tapir Day is a unique celebration dedicated to raising awareness about tapirs, those curious creatures that have roamed the Earth for millions of years.
This special day was officially launched in 2008 and is celebrated annually on April 27. It wasn’t until 2011, however, that the celebration really took off, thanks to the passionate efforts of tapir enthusiasts and conservationists who recognized the need to highlight these lesser-known animals.
Their goal was to educate the public about the critical role tapirs play in their ecosystems and the threats they face, such as habitat loss and hunting.
The founding of World Tapir Day marked the beginning of a concerted effort to put tapirs on the global conservation agenda.
By drawing attention to their plight, the day aims to inspire actions that help ensure their survival. Zoos, wildlife organizations, and conservation groups around the world participate by hosting events, educational programs, and social media campaigns to spread the word.
Activities range from visiting tapirs at local zoos to engaging in conservation fundraising efforts.
The significance of World Tapir Day has grown over the years, reflecting the increasing urgency of protecting these animals and their habitats. All four recognized species of tapirs are currently listed as vulnerable or endangered.
The day serves as a reminder of the beauty and diversity of wildlife and the importance of conservation efforts to protect our planet’s biodiversity for future generations.
How to Celebrate World Tapir Day
Celebrating World Tapir Day can be both fun and meaningful with a sprinkle of creativity. Here are some playful suggestions that don’t just stick to the script:
Dress Up as a Tapir: Grab some grey or black clothes, fashion a snout, and maybe even some spots and stripes. Walk around your neighborhood or park, sparking curiosity and conversations about tapirs.
Tapir-Themed Art Day: Gather your friends or family and create tapir-inspired artwork. Paint, draw, or even create digital art—let your imagination run wild. Share your masterpieces online to spread the love for these unique creatures.
Movie Night with a Twist: Host a movie night featuring documentaries or films about tapirs and their habitats. It’s a cozy way to learn about these animals and the challenges they face.
“Adopt” a Tapir: Many conservation organizations offer symbolic adoption programs. Adopting a tapir can be a great way to support its protection and learn more about the specific animal.
Tapir Trivia Night: Organize a trivia night with facts about tapirs. It’s a fun way to educate and challenge your friends and family about tapir knowledge.
Visit a Zoo Virtually or In-Person: If you can’t make it to a zoo, many offer virtual tours where you can see tapirs. For those who can visit in person, it’s a great opportunity to learn firsthand about these animals.
Tapir Treats Bake-off: Get creative in the kitchen by baking cookies or cakes shaped like tapirs. Share your creations with friends or on social media to spread awareness in the sweetest way possible.
These ideas make sure the spotlight is on these fascinating creatures and the efforts to conserve them.

Nurturing Healthy Minds and Bodies: The Intersection of Fun Family Event Ideas, School Trips, and Children’s Health
In today’s busy world filled with work, school, and countless activities, finding time to nurture healthy minds and bodies can be a challenge—especially for children. However, by thoughtfully integrating fun family events, enriching school trips, and basic children’s health tips into daily life, parents can foster holistic well-being and development. When these three components intersect, they reinforce one another to create an environment where children can thrive physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.
Tumblr media
Fun Family Event Ideas
Quality time together as a family is essential for forming deep bonds and inspiring health and happiness in children. Fun family events provide opportunities for meaningful connection while creating joyful memories.
Creative DIY Projects
In the course of working on creative make and do activities all the family members can work together, find creative solutions to problems, and materialize the outcome they want. Using arts and crafts or simply baking, gardening and fixing things around the house helps build group spirit and feel proud of the results. The process of creating by following instructions, envisioning the results, and seeing the results develops the kid' imagination and cognitive abilities.
Outdoor Adventures
Besides visiting parks, trails, beaches, lakes, mountains, and a lot more natural gifts, we can get numerous benefits from it. Outdoor experiences like walking, biking, climbing, horse riding, boating and camping become inseparable from the real world, while physical exercise and playfulness get encouragement at the same time. Sport in sunlight, which contains vitamin D, is appropriate for doping young bodies. Bacteria that run around the earth help absorb in the immune system, and detachment from electronics is useful to stay from moments everywhere. The wide range of experiences and interesting challenges that come along with nature helps create stronger bonds between family members.
Game Nights
Indoor fun like family game nights also serve an important role. Board games, video games, charades, trivia, karaoke, and other interactive activities inspire laughter, friendly competition, and cognitive stimulation. Cooperating, communicating, negotiating rules, taking turns, and simply being silly are all essential social-emotional skills developed through play. Dedicated family time without distractions fosters strong interpersonal bonds.
Benefits of School Trips
Beyond the classroom, school trips grant students immersive learning experiences that stick with them for life. Exploring new environments and engaging material through diverse lenses promotes academic and personal growth.
Experiential Learning
By participating in trips to educational destinations like museums, botanical gardens, historical landmarks, and zoos, children can connect abstract classroom concepts to real-world examples. Seeing and touching objects, hearing stories, and empathizing with different perspectives bring static information alive. Students gain deeper insight that inspires critical thinking and additional curiosity.
Social Development
School trips are also opportunities for children to bond with peers and teachers by collaborating to navigate experiences. Group challenges foster communication, leadership, inclusiveness, and conflict resolution. Younger children learn to follow instructions, while older ones practice independence and responsibility. Practicing social skills in fresh settings helps children adjust behavior based on context—a key developmental milestone.
Broadening Perspectives
Exploring new places, especially those with cultural, religious, ethnic, or socioeconomic diversity, exposes children to alternate worldviews. Through guided activities and thoughtful discussion, students can expand cultural awareness and develop empathy. Broadened perspectives help combat stereotyping, prejudice, and close-mindedness. Trips grant life-long memories that remind children how people’s lived experiences shape their realities.
Children’s Health Tips
While fun family outings and school trips provide developmental support, sufficient sleep, nutritious food, and regular exercise create the foundation. By instilling healthy habits early, children reap benefits spanning their lifespan.
Balanced Nutrition
Providing minimally processed whole foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and lean proteins ensures children get vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, healthy fats, and other nutrients vital for proper growth and function. Variety prevents nutritional deficiencies and picky eating. Occasional treats are fine, but the focus should remain on incorporating colorful, wholesome foods at most meals.
Regular Physical Activity
Exercise provides endless physical and mental health benefits for children. Aim for at least 60 minutes of heart-pumping moderate to vigorous activity daily to build strong muscles and bones, improve cardiovascular health, boost immunity, enhance sleep, sharpen focus, and alleviate anxiety and depression. This can include structured sports, dance classes, family bike rides, playground romps—anything that gets kids moving, playing, and having fun.
Investing in the Well-Being of the Next Generation
Keeping a happy medium while engaging both tiring work and carefully teaching children how to keep healthy is difficult but should be done. Parents and teachers can both help holistic development if they blend these activities into fun family activities, meaningful school trips, and the regular routine of wellness strategies. Having the joy of joint adventures is a way of building strong relationships and nice memories that will last forever while seeing different kinds of environments and people is a way to cultivate the mind and be open-minded. By the establishment of thorough good practices involving food, physical activity and sleep, young people are set up for success in the future. The children are the future, and that is why we must put the interests of the child first and foremost. Through our refined vision and work we can create good children who are happy, normal, and have what it takes to make the world better.

From ancient times to modern days, the human mind has been captivated by the art of mental challenges. Riddles, puzzles, and quizzes have played a pivotal role in shaping our cognitive abilities, enhancing critical thinking, and providing an endless supply of entertainment. These intriguing conundrums are more than just leisurely pursuits – they are windows to the intricacies of human intelligence and creativity.
Fore more info visit:
The Enigmatic Appeal of Riddles
Riddles have already been a part of human culture for centuries, transcending geographical boundaries and generations. Often presented as succinct, enigmatic questions or statements, riddles demand more than just surface-level understanding. They encourage us to consider beyond the most obvious, to dig into our knowledge and intuition, and to unravel the hidden meanings under the words.
Riddles are not merely about finding solutions; they are about the journey of discovery. The process of solving a riddle is a mental exercise that involves lateral thinking, imagination, and the ability to connect seemingly unrelated bits of information. This not merely sharpens our problem-solving skills but also fosters creativity by encouraging us to explore unconventional pathways to arrive at a solution.
Throughout history, riddles have served various purposes. In mythology and folklore, they certainly were often used as tests of wit and intelligence. The ancient Greek myth of the Sphinx, who posed a riddle to travelers, is a classic example. Similarly, in the Anglo-Saxon epic "Beowulf," the protagonist engages in a struggle of wits by solving riddles. These tales highlight the cultural significance of riddles as instruments of intellectual prowess.
The Puzzle Paradox
Puzzles, like riddles, have traversed the ages and found their way to the hearts of men and women over the globe. Whether it's the complexity of a jigsaw puzzle, the challenge of a Sudoku grid, or the mind-bending intrigue of a Rubik's Cube, puzzles come in diverse forms, catering to a wide spectrum of interests.
One of the most compelling facets of puzzles is their ability to provide a structured problem-solving experience. Unlike riddles, puzzles often come with predefined rules and constraints, creating a systematic approach to getting a solution. This can be immensely satisfying, because it allows us to break up complex problems into manageable steps. As we manipulate puzzle pieces or arrange numbers, we exercise our spatial reasoning and logical thinking.
Puzzles are not confined to leisure; they've practical applications as well. In fields such as for example mathematics, engineering, and computer science, puzzles lay the inspiration for innovative solutions. The process posed by a puzzle encourages us to explore new strategies and techniques, pushing the boundaries of our understanding.
The Quest for Knowledge: The World of Quizzes
Quizzes bridge the gap between entertainment and education. They give you a structured way of testing our knowledge on various subjects, from history and science to pop culture and general trivia. Quizzes provide an interactive platform for learning, allowing us to gauge our understanding of a topic while discovering new facts over the way.
One of the intriguing facets of quizzes is their adaptability. They could range between casual online personality quizzes to intense academic assessments. In educational settings, quizzes promote active recall, a powerful technique for memory retention. By recalling information in reaction to questions, we strengthen our memory pathways and enhance our ability to retain and retrieve knowledge in the future.
Quizzes also promote healthy competition, whether we vie against ourselves to beat our previous scores or challenge friends and colleagues to see who knows more. This social part of quizzes adds some camaraderie and shared experiences, fostering a feeling of community.
Cognitive Benefits and Beyond
Engaging with riddles, puzzles, and quizzes offers more than just amusement. These mental challenges have already been connected to numerous cognitive benefits. Studies suggest that regularly solving puzzles and participating in quizzes can improve memory, enhance problem-solving skills, boost cognitive flexibility, and even delay cognitive decline in older adults.
Furthermore, these activities stimulate different areas of the mind, fostering neural connections that could otherwise remain dormant. The mental gymnastics associated with tackling these challenges contribute to the general health and agility of our minds.
In the Digital Age
The digital revolution has transformed the landscape of riddles, puzzles, and quizzes. With the advent of smartphones and the net, these mental challenges are actually more accessible than ever. Online platforms offer a plethora of options, from interactive puzzle games to virtual trivia competitions. This digital accessibility has managed to get easier for enthusiasts to indulge in their favorite pastimes and relate genuinely to like-minded individuals globally.
However, just like any digital advancement, there are concerns. The instant availability of solutions and the temptation to get quick answers can undermine the actual essence of those challenges. The joy of persevering through a difficult puzzle or the satisfaction of finally unraveling a cryptic riddle may be diluted in the era of instant gratification.
The Enduring Allure
Riddles, puzzles, and quizzes continue steadily to captivate us simply because they tap to the essence of human curiosity and intellectual prowess. Whether it's the thrill of solving a complicated riddle, the satisfaction of completing a complicated puzzle, or the joy of acing a quiz, these mental challenges give you a unique blend of entertainment, education, and cognitive stimulation. As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of entertainment and technology, the allure of riddles, puzzles, and quizzes remains a steadfast beacon of mental engagement. So, the next time you encounter a perplexing riddle or a tantalizing puzzle, remember that you're not just solving a conundrum – you're embarking on a journey of discovery that has fascinated minds for generations untold.

Gotta post about this b4 I forget about it but basically;
went on TVtropes yesterday, found the SRTUC page again, started adding to trivia and though, hmm, I've been getting "earlier anthro action cartoon" vibes from this show for a while now.... wonder why that is?
and guys, adding some of the art peeps there no the TVtropes trivia, I noticed that supervising producer ben jones actually worked on SWAT KATS as a character designer for 3 eps! what a connection to make!
my brain at that moment:
Tumblr media
edit 1(27.06.2023) - ok, turns out I just mixed the actual show up with this show.... but it's sorta nice for me bc I like reminiscing about Swat Kats haha xD
on with the old post!!
actually, swat kats is a cartoon I was obsessed with for a while as a kid after we got access to cartoon network and they started airing it here. i think it'd seen a dubbed version of it before but it was exciting to see the english original, . it was fun and rompy as I remember, but also I loved the music and action elements after bikermice ended and I missed it so much, seeing something with similar musical cues felt like a consolation almost, like "oh there's more cartoons like this". now admittedly, i don't really remember that much abt swat kats anymore. it aired alongside other H-B cartoons and there was a lot to watch and pay attention to, so i kinda haven't retained more of it than memories of memories of loving the intro, memorizing the music and feeling cool while watching it. I remember the shift to more "serious" storytelilng (if I remember it right at all lol) and both feeling a bit critical/apprehensive at Callie (bc I'd thought, "why is she the only one who gets a more human-like appearance) and loving her design/fawning over her ("oh no, girl hot") but also it was just interesting to see a girl character given a mayoral role which made her seem more important than I'd seen from other action cartoons directed at boys so far.
like, i need to rewatch this series now that I've seen the cast/crew list, and just see also what it was about this show that I loved so much it left some kind of artistic impression on me.
lol idk what other connection with SRTUC it has, but when I'd read that Ben Jones was on it, I suddenly also thought, "well, not it makes sense why the antrho designs in samurai rabbit actually makes sense" There are so many shows, comics and so on before which have made different kinds of attempts at anthro/furry designs, and they all might make sense within the context of their show/media piece, but what I liked about Samurai Rabbit was how it didn't "humanize" the animal designs *too much*. Resulting in awkward designs where women look much more human than their male counterparts. which might not bother a kid much, but will bother an artist like me concerned with consistency lol. like in the og usagi yojimbo it makes sense how the animals look a little more human depending on their role or function in the story/scene, Stan Sakai is very good at making his cartoony style work with these ideas of "basically human, but represented by animals" but also literally animals. And I like that the show takes this same idea and runs with it in it's own way.
All this to say - Experience builds on experience.
so Ben Jones and many other veteran animators/artists/writers in the field working on it, but also the numerous visdev artists, animators and other visual folk with similar vested interest in a UY adaptation, give this show such an unique flair among other furry/anthro shows.
sdfsdf ill continue writing this later, I am soooo exhausted after work today, but, this was cool to think abt yesterday and ive been mullting it over in my head during quiet hours. so cool to have a brain that keeps noticing all these names and all these similar things and then running with it. like the animated things you like are so connected thru their staff knowing each other or having worked on same/similar things before, you wouldn't believe it if you didn't see it all the time.

impressionism
impressionism
A school of art and literary thought popular in France, Europe, America and even the world during the second half of the 19th century ~ the first half of the 20th century.
Impressionism as a school of painting appeared in France. On March 25, 1874, C. Monet, P.-A. Renoir, C. Pissarro, A. Weasley, e. degas, p. Cezanne, b. mori rope and so on a group of young French painter, held in Paris without painter, sculptor, print exhibition, because one of monet exhibition entitled "impression, sunrise" the topic of painting is a view of a reporter to borrow, writing at the exhibition as "impressionism artist exhibition", Hence the name Impressionism or Impressionism.
In artistic point of view, impressionist painters opposed the orthodox classical school at that time and the increasingly vulgar and pretentious romantic painting, but in C. Koro, barbizon school, and g. courbet, et al., under the impetus of the realistic painting style, absorbing the Netherlands, UK, Spain, Japan, China and other countries the nutrition of painting, at the same time by the modern science, especially optical inspired, think all the color is light, so they according to the spectrum red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet seven color to color. Because light changes so rapidly, they thought that only capturing the flashes of light could reveal the secrets of nature. Therefore, in the painting, attention is paid to the study and performance of external light, advocate to go outdoors, in the sun according to the observation of the eyes and the scene of the direct sense of painting, the performance of objects in the light irradiation, the subtle change of color. Thus impressionist painting in the processing of shadows, instead of the traditional painting of black and use bright green, purple and other colors. Due to different personal interests, impressionist painters are divided into two types: heavy light and color, heavy shape and sketch. The former is represented by Monet and Renoir, the latter is represented by Degas, and Pissarro is in between.
Due to the pursuit of external light and color expression, impressionist painters mainly took the trivia of life around them and direct observations as subjects, and mostly depicted real people and natural scenery. It breaks the boundary between sketching and creation by intercepting some fragment or scene of objective object to process the picture.
Impressionist painters held eight exhibitions successively, the first two of which were severely criticized by the press of the time. Later, Impressionist painters gradually became a highly influential art school and expanded to other art fields. In the process of formation and development of impressionist painting, E. Manet supported and encouraged it.
As a trend of thought in art, impressionism painting plays an important role in the world art history. It promotes the innovation of art techniques and the transformation of ideas in the future, and has exerted a great or small influence on painters in Europe, America, Japan and even China.
Impressionist music Impressionist music was invented by the French composer Debussy. The term impressionism first appeared in music in 1887. The judges of the French Academy of Fine Arts accused Debussy of not having a clear structure in the second "handed over work" symphony suite "Spring" when he studied in Rome, and asked him to "be wary of vague impressionism". When his String Quartet premiered in Brussels in 1894, critics began to praise it with "impressionistic music". Since then, the term has often been used to generalize Debussy and music similar to his style, and no longer has a derogatory connotation.
The production of impressionist music is evolved from the late Romanticism and the national music school, but also absorbs the nourishment of eastern music. Its artistic expression techniques are as follows: ① to short melody cells combined into a novel motivation vocabulary. (2) In rhythm, I like complex rhythm and complex rhythm. The irregular subdivision of rhythm weakens the driving force and presents a state of loose flow. ③ Pay attention to the expression of the mode, according to the image requirements to use the corresponding mode. Expand the concept of tonality and often avoid explicit bandana. The use of the whole tone scale makes every tone in the mode in the same position, weakened the sense of tone center, the emergence of multiple tonality factors. (4) Because of the preference for different colors and sound plane, painting juxtaposition, harmony has become the most important means of expression. By increasing the possibility of chord structure and weakening the function of harmonic progression, extremely rich harmonic color is obtained. ⑤ Rich, unique and novel timbre. In vocal music, bass registers lacking luster and dramatic power are often used. A wide range of instruments on the use of color means. ⑥ Novel arrangement of orchetion and texture. ⑦ The structure is often loose and vague, but the outline of a trilogy can still be seen in many works.
After Debussy, although it is difficult to categorize a certain composer into the ranks of impressionism, but the actual influence of the style and technique of impressionism music has spread throughout the music world.
Literary historians believe that impressionism entered into literature after the 1870s, but there are different opinions on how impressionism is performed in literature and which writers and poets belong to impressionism. What is certain is that some literary writers in Western Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries did have a creative method similar to Impressionist painting and music, which was dedicated to capturing vague and fleeting sensations. Because of the special nature of literary creation, impressionists in literature pay more attention to how this instant sensory experience is transformed into emotional states. Like the impressionists in painting and music, they also objected to the logical or rational refinement of the connections between the things they described, so they themselves became intermediaries between external stimuli and instinctive reactions.
There is a similarity between impressionist literature and symbolist literature. They are both literary schools of formalism. But there are also differences between the two, mainly because impressionism opposes the use of symbolism to express ideas, and favors the description of feelings. Some poets who are usually regarded as symbolists are actually more inclined to impressionism. For example, one of the leaders of symbolism, Paul Weiland's poem "Art of Poetry" is not so much about symbolism as a declaration of impressionism.
French literary historians regard the Goncourt brothers as representatives of impressionist novels. Another French poet and novelist, Pierre Lottie, is regarded as representatives of impressionism. Some of his poems are indeed like impressionist painters in "capturing the impression of the moment", but not all of his works are so. Some twentieth-century French writers were heavily influenced by impressionism, and in some novels only the vague pursuit of sensory impression was left.
The tendency of impressionism is obvious in some works of Oscar Wilde and others at the end of 19th century. Image poetry School formed by some British and American poets in London from 1912 to 1918 emphasized the description of sensory impression like impressionism, but they claimed to pursue a "clear and hard" image. They attacked the vagueness and vagueness of the image as an aftereffect of Romanticism. However, the theoretical differences are sometimes hard to detect in creative practice. For example, many works of imagist American poets such as Ai Lowell, Sy Doolittle and John Gold Fletcher are inseparable from impressionist poetry.
The situation is similar in German literature, where literary historians are unable to identify distinct impressionist schools. Led by Detlev von Llienkron, including Richard Damer, Gustav Falk and others, they are regarded as the most obvious school of German impressionism. However, they emphasize truthfully recording the feeling experience of things to poets, so they are close to naturalism. In addition, many poems, such as Hugo von Hoffmanstahl and Arnaud Holtz, also have impressionistic tendencies of varying degrees.
At the same time, the term impressionism also refers to a kind of literary criticism, which is called impressionistic criticism, that is, perceptive criticism. This kind of criticism refuses to make a rational and scientific analysis of the works, but emphasizes the critic's aesthetic intuition. It believes that the best criticism only records the process of the critic's feeling of beauty, and at most points out how the impression of beauty is produced and under which conditions it is felt. Therefore, impressionist criticism is a kind of vague criticism without clear argumentation, which is often written in the form of prose poetry. Literary criticism has become a kind of art category that is not fundamentally different from literary creation, and the people who write such critical words are often poets or writers themselves.https://painting-portrait.com/

EASY TO WED
July 11, 1946
Tumblr media
Directed by Edward N. Buzzell

Written by Dorothy Kingsley, based on the screenplay Libeled Lady by George Oppenheimer, Maurine Dallas Watkins (as Maurice Watkins), and Howard Emmett Rogers.  Uncredited contributions by Buster Keaton.

To do this, he must rely upon the romantic chicanery of ex-employee Bill Stevens Chandler, with Haggerty's fiancée Gladys Benton (Lucille Ball) caught in the middle. Warren believes that, if he can prove Connie truly is a home-wrecker, as the article claims, he can file a countersuit against her. Warren then enlists his own fiancée, Gladys and reporter Bill Chandler to take part in a complex plan to turn the tables on the Allenburys.

Tumblr media
Chandler's overdue hotel bill of $763.40 would equate to nearly $10,380 in 2021. The film was a big hit at the box office, earning MGM a profit of $1,779,000 according to studio records.

Tumblr media
Radio’s “Screen Guild Theater” broadcast a 30-minute adaptation of the movie in February 1948 with Van Johnson and Esther Williams reprising their film roles. Two years later, "Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60-minute radio adaptation of the movie with Van Johnson reprising his film role.
Tumblr media
Lucille Ball borrows one of Samuel Goldwyn's malapropisms when she says, "Include me out!" Keenan Wynn tries to convince her of having a sham wedding with Van Johnson.
Tumblr media
This film was first telecast in Los Angeles on September 26, 1957; in Philadelphia on October 25, 1957' in New York City January 23, 1958; and in San Francisco on Saturday January 25, 1958. At this time, color broadcasting was in its infancy, limited to only a small number of high rated programs, primarily on NBC and NBC affiliated stations, so these film showings were all still in B&W. Viewers were not offered the opportunity to see these films in their original Technicolor until several years later.
Tumblr media
Early in this film, on the lower left of the screen, Fidel Castro (without the beard) is seen as a poolside spectator with a drink in front of him. Young Fidel did extra work for MGM, while a student at UCLA, before becoming fully active in politics. It’s interesting that Castro and Lucille should be in the same film, seeing that her husband was born in Cuba and driven out by revolutionaries.

A preview of some Storm Hawks redesigns of the Raptors, I've noticed the Raptors never really get a chance to be re imagined by other SH artists despite being very well liked in the fandom, but that's all going to change thanks to me.
Here's the 4 preview sketches! Not full body because I want that to be a surprise.

Mission to Find Lost Storm Hawks Stickers almost half way achieved!!!!
Look what came in the mail today!!
Tumblr media
The Stickers for the Storm Hawks Sticker Album!!!
I bought them of of ebay from who I believe also sold me one of the sticker albums, they were selling them as a sort of "mystery bags" and I brought them mainly because I was curious to what they are. And I did not expect them to contain the SH Stickers at all.
Though as you can tell, 5 of them are cut in half, possibly due to them being bigger then the custom mystery bags or they're made to be like that. And I don't know what's going on with the Sky Knight council sticker, it looks really weird.
Still, I'm glad I finally got my hands on some of the actual stickers since, like I've said before, they are really rare and hard to come by.
I know I should be filling the sticker album with them, but I don't think I want to, mainly because they look so good on their own. Maybe put them on my wall via thumb tacks/push pins since I don't want to simply stick them on my wall since it would be very hard to take them off. I'm not sure yet.
Also I totally fan girled when I saw the Murk Raiders sticker since they are my favorite Squadron next to the Raptors.

Yeah, I fell back into one my very first fandoms, The Batman a.k.a. an underrated gem that gave use some of the best designed villains, one of the best versions of Batman, and some of the best episodes. Though it does have a lot of flaws( I still hate that they made Poison Ivy a teen just so she can have a connection to TB Barbara. They could have obivously made Ivy a botany teacher who turns bad, I know student/teacher friendships aren't seen as much in media because of student/teacher relationships, while controversial, are more widely known, but it's still possible)
Sorry, back to subject, I absolutely love the Team Penguin episode, something about this group of Gotham misfits banding together because Penguin saw a movie about teamwork just gives me the feels, and it makes me wish they teamed up again just for fun.( Maybe without Penguin because that means they can use either Firefly or Ragdoll's names for the group, The Gotham Gangsters/ Villains United sound much more cool) and it would mean more screen time for Ragdoll and Killer Moth as they didn't really get much screen time after that episode( Ragdoll made a slight cameo in Rumors and Killer Moth got a mention, which sucks as I find his mutanted form adorable and so fluffy!!!)
So for this drawing, I was curious about whether or not Killer Moth has instincts of a moth since he's now mutated into one, and I couldn't help but think he would unintentionally annoy Team Penguin with his new habits of chewing on their clothes and attraction to bright lights( an irony because Ragdoll makes jokes if Killer Moth has these abilities when they first meet). I'd imagine he would fly behind Firefly because of Firefly's jetpack emitting a bright yellow glow and trying to get close to it that they would crash into one another when he gets too close.( And he's definitely going to apologize for it since he can't help it.)
So yeah, here he is chewing on Ragdoll's sweater, I did color it with markers and you can definitely tell I did a pretty botched job at coloring KM's fluff, mainly his neck fluff as it looks too close of a color to his outer fluff, and I made part of his antennes. I also botched Ragdoll's colors to despite having the right browns for him, I made the left patch too dark so that hides his x shaped eyes( Speaking of which, how does Ragdoll see with those X shaped eyes on his costume? do they have tiny holes that let him see? This has been bugging me since I first saw him). I took a picture of the sketch just before I colored it just in case I botched it with markers( And of course I did) so expect a digitally colored version eventually.
Though I do have to say, I did get them pretty accurate to how they look in the show, Moth was, of course, really hard because of the fact I don't usually draw insects, but his fluff was really fun to draw. And Ragdoll was surprisingly easy for me, maybe it's because he's not as complex as other versions of him.
And might I add that Team Penguin was very close to becoming an all animal themed team if they included an acrobatics villain with an animal theme. Though I will let it slide as the only other animal themed villain that knows acrobatics is Catwoman and I don't think Penguin was willing to ask her join due to the last time the 2 teamed up.
Now I want to write headcannons for Team Penguin, doubt I'll actually do it, but who knows.
And so, I think that's pretty much it, tell me what you think.

Guess what came in the mail today!!!

A official Storm Hawks Sticker Album!!!!!
I saw on the official Storm Hawks Wiki that there was a photo of a sticker album cover that was released in I believe Germany by a company called Panini. I thought " Whoa! Cool!!" And immediately went to eBay to see if someone was selling one! And their were two!! Both from different sellers, and I bought from both because I have no self control!( Actually the one you see here was more pricey, the other less pricey one with hopefully arrive in about a week, but I'm a bit concerned since they didn't give a tracking number, I hopefully find out soon)
