While a VPN can deliver a wealth of benefits that center on making certain your online privacy, not all providers deliver the same degree of service. There are variances that will still leave you vulnerable if you do not have an understanding of the important pieces of a Virtual Private Network's design. This guide will help you generate a list of the significant attributes, examine them using the different providers, and come across the best network for your browsing requirements. The choice of your VPN service is extremely significant, and these keys should be taken into really serious consideration. Guide to Watch TGCF Donghua Season 2
Tumblr media
With the new season of the Tian Guan Ci Fu/Heaven Official's Blessing donghua finally releasing soon, I wanted to make a post explaining the different ways fans can watch and support it! Things have changed since season 1, so my old guide is no longer relevant apart from the infographics on how to subscribe to Bilibili CN (and the YouTube channel)!
And to be upfront: the main sites that are going to be broadcasting the donghua have been very sparse with information. I fully expect that we will have to wait until after the first episode releases to know all the details, so while I am making this guide to help people right now, things might change! Please keep that in mind and stay patient! I will post any important updates in the replies as I can!
Additionally, because of copyright/licensing, different sites are going to work in different regions. I do not know with 100% certainty what is going to work in a particular country. There's gonna be some trial and error!
So the main options we have for season 2 are:
Crunchyroll
Sub price: $9.99 USD per month for basic (local prices may vary)
Regions: Americas, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Oceania.
Pros: Easy to subscribe to if available in your region.
Cons: Unlikely for true simulcast so it'll be a bit delayed.
Link to main site (season 2 listing not up yet)
For app: download via App Store/Google Play Store.
Bilibili. tv (EN site/app)
Sub price: $4.99 USD per month (local prices may vary)
Regions: Southeast Asia only.
Pros: Airs earlier than Crunchyroll. Interface is in English.
Cons: If you want to watch it outside of SEA, you'll need a VPN.
Link to Season 2 on website
For app: download via APK link on website if you are outside of SEA. Otherwise use App Store/Google Play Store.
Bilibili YouTube Channel
Sub price: $4.99/$5.99 USD per month (local prices may vary)
Regions: Many -- EXCEPT Japan, South Korea, the Americas, UK, Australia, New Zealand.
Pros: Easy to subscribe if available in your region.
Cons: If you want to watch it from the regions listed above, you'll need a VPN.
Link to channel
It's the youtube app....
Bilibili. com (CN site/app)
Sub price: $9.99 USD for 3 months
Regions: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pros: If they're gonna air season 2, then they might be the source broadcast if the EN site isn't. Also probably cheapest for those abroad.
Cons: Chinese interface may be intimidating. Not 100% sure if it'll air as normal.
Link to Season 2 on website
For app: download via App Store/Google Play Store.
(NOTE: If you are in Japan, it will be available on WOWOW. If you are in South Korea, it will be available on Laftel.)
F.A.Q.s
🔹What is the release date/time? Bilibili EN has announced it as 20:00 GMT+8 on October 18th. If it releases on Bilibili CN, it'll probably be the same time. Crunchyroll has stated October 18th, but has not yet announced a time as of the posting this guide. I checked. Japan and South Korea have their own release times, so please consult the relevant broadcasters!
🔹Can I watch it on Netflix/Amazon Prime/etc? These streaming services will likely only have it after the whole season concludes, and with a significant delay. For reference, it took several months after finishing for season 1 to be released on Netflix.
🔹Which platform should I choose? Whichever one you can actually access, and feel most comfortable using!
🔹When should I subscribe? Personally, I'll be waiting until the last day before release, just to make sure I have the most information possible. However, I'm sure the idea of doing that makes many people nervous, so... yeah. Whenever is convenient for you!
🔹Which one will have the donghua the quickest/earliest? Probably Bilibili CN & Bilibili EN. I suspect they'll simulcast with each other. I cannot be 100% certain about anything though, because of limited info! For season 1, YouTube and Funimation (now Crunchyroll) were delayed, and it's hard to say if they'll be better this time or not.
🔹Do I need a VPN for Bilibili EN or their YT channel? If you are outside of SEA, yes.
🔹Do I need a VPN for Bilibili CN? Probably not, unless you are in a country that restricts access to CN sites and apps (like India).
🔹Which VPN should I use? This will be up to you! It's best to research what the different options are, and what will work for your needs!
🔹How will I know I'll be able to watch season 2 from my region? The most surefire way is to subscribe to a platform that has officially announced to be serving your region (e.g. Crunchyroll for the Americas). Unofficially, if you can watch the latest trailer and other promo videos on your chosen platform, then there's a good chance you're okay! The exception to this is the YouTube channel, which has some of the trailers public, but has all of season 1 unavailable if you aren't in the right region.... Additionally, be mindful, because even if you're able to see season 1, season 2 might still be region-locked on certain platforms. (E.g. you can watch all of season 1 via Bilibili EN if you're from the USA no problem. But you can't access season 2 without a VPN to a SEA server.)
🔹What languages are going to be available and will there be English subtitles? While dubs for multiple languages have been confirmed, I'm unsure if any of these will be available on release. It'll likely be offered only in Chinese first. For season 1, there were hardcoded CN & EN subtitles for Bilibili on release. Funimation re-subbed the episodes (EN) for their own release, and Crunchyroll will probably do the same.
🔹I watched it on Funimation last time, can I watch it through them this time? No, they were absorbed (in some capacity idk) by Crunchyroll. So they are not distributing season 2 of TGCF, only Crunchyroll is.
🔹Is season 2 actually available in China and thus on Bilibili CN? Yes and no! As long as you are not in mainland China, it seems you will have access to season 2 through Bilibili CN. All promo materials and trailers seem to be available to us, which is a good sign! (They are not available for mainlanders, but mainland fans are able to watch via HK/Macau versions apparently.)
🔹Hopeful that it will be available, I would like to watch it via Bilibili CN, so how do I sign up and subscribe? To make an account, consult this reddit post. To subscribe, please consult the guide below! It's a little old (made it for season 1) but still works pretty much the same.

“I’m scared to pirate stuff - ” do it scared!*
*with Firefox and Adblock and a VPN and -
If you want a nonspecific, nonexhaustive “where do I even start” guide…
Sail the cyber seas at your own risk!
Streaming - “I want to watch xyz”
This is normally what most people want when they talk about pirating.
Use Firefox with uBlock Origin and additional privacy add-ons such as PrivacyBadger, TrackMeNot, etc.
Free VPNs are out there. Get one - but vet it’s efficacy. My go-tos are Proton VPN, or Windscribe if you plan to do a bit of torrenting.
What is torrenting? How does it work? Here’s a guide!
Back to streaming -
Make sure that a) you’ve got your Mozilla browser with all its adblocking private glory, and b) you’ve got a VPN turned on to hide what you’re doing in that browser from your ISP (internet service provider).
Now you need to actually find a site to stream from. This is the tricky part, because openly sharing these sites will get them taken down if they’re talked about widely enough. (Remember how tiktok idiots got zlibrary taken down?)
You’re going to have to talk to people on forums. You’re going to have to experiment with sites you find yourself. Search for ‘x online free’ and look at the links that come up - is the preview text mangled or clickbaitey? Are there Reddit threads about that website confirming or denying its content? A good rule of thumb is to ignore the top result or two - copycats of good streaming sites will often buy out the top result spot. Eventually, you’ll develop a good gut feeling and understanding of what a good site ‘looks like’ from the results page alone.
However, there are some places that compile good sites that haven’t been nuked by lawyers (yet) - check out r/FMHY! The masterposts are actively curated and updated when a site goes down or is found to have malicious downloads.
Remember - loose lips sink ships. No tweeting (xeeting?) or Facebook statuses about your new favorite piracy website and where you found it. Even posting to tumblr (kind of like this…) isn’t a great idea if you want those websites to stay under the radar and stay accessible. Nobody talks, everybody walks (away with their share of pirate booty)
If you aren’t downloading media, pick pretty much any site and watch away! Adblock and Firefox will keep away pop-ups and other annoying ads, and your VPN means your ISP can’t tell that you’re visiting an unofficial streaming service.
Note: In my experience, I’ve never heard of visiting a site and watching stuff on it infecting or otherwise compromising your computer. That tends to come from misclicks on invisible or overwhelming pop-up ads that redirect you to an automatic download or similarly malicious bullshit. If you’re using Firefox and uBlock, you shouldn’t be in any danger of an accidental redirect.
Downloads - “I want to keep xyz”
This is the realm of pirate archiving - you’re keeping files physically on your hard drive, an external hard drive, or burning a disk.
Adblock + Firefox browser? Check. VPN on? Check.
Go to your streaming site of choice - most if not all have download options. You can download those files or, manually, right click and save the video file from the webpage as an mp4. I honestly don’t know if there’s a difference in quality or more danger in clicking the download buttons, but regardless -
Run that puppy through VirusTotal.com! It’s a reliable browser based virus checker - if the file is too large, use a local virus checking program (your native Windows Defender on Windows computers or, I prefer, Malwarebytes)
Generally mp4 and mp3 files are clean - choose where to save them for the long term, and bam! Free forever media.
Optionally, I also upload mp4 files to a named Google document - this way I can easily share them or make them findable through a ‘xyz Google doc’ search for others :]
Torrents - “I want to keep and share xyz”
I’m not going to go into this subject in depth because, honestly, it’s not something I do regularly.
See the previously linked Torrenting guide for information on how the process works, and check out r/FMHY for recommendations and warnings about different torrenting clients (I’ve personally only used qBittorrent - I’ve heard to stay away from the Pirate Bay and Bittorrent.)
As with streaming, turn on that VPN baby! You’re going to need one that supports peer-to-peer (p2p) connections, so Proton’s free version is a no-go. Windscribe is what I’ve used for torrenting (and it’s a good free VPN on its own - I’m just partial to Proton). You get 10GB every month on Windscribe’s free version, which is more than enough for a few movies/a season or two of your favorite show.
(Bigger torrents like video games are easily 30+ GB, so be prepared to either pay for a no-limit premium account or spend a few months downloading your files in chunks.)
VPN on? Double check.
Boot up your torrenting client - I use a slightly out of date version of qBittorent, but there are other options. The Reddit thread and previously linked torrenting guide have a few dos and donts of selecting a client, so be thorough before you download your client of choice.
This is getting into the logistics of torrenting a bit, so forgive me if this is vague or incorrect, but now you need a torrent seed. These will be .tor files found through pirating websites or archives - these are rarely malicious, but it’s good to run any piracy related download through something like VirusTotal.com or scan it with a local program like Malwarebytes.
You open your seed file in your client and wait. A ‘healthy’ seed tends to have lots of seeders and few leeches, but sometimes you’re stuck with an obscure seed you just have to wait for.
Your torrented files have fully downloaded! Now what? a) keep your client open and seed those files for others as long as you want to - sharing is caring! and b) run those files through a security program like Malwarebytes (not sponsored it’s just the only program I’m familiar with).
Be wary of what gets flagged - sometimes the files seem important, but are just trojans, and likewise sometimes they seem malicious, but are just cracked software getting flagged by your system. It’s good to check and see if others have had a problem with this particular torrent before - Reddit threads from 2008 are your long dead friends.
And that’s about it. Feel free to correct me if anything I’ve recommended is malicious or outright wrong. I’ve been doing this for years and haven’t had an active problem to my knowledge, so if there is something fishy with how I do things, I am a statistical outlier and should not be counted.
I wish you smooth sailing and strong winds in your ventures me hearties!
Obligatory ‘don’t pirate small author’s or artist’s works what the fuck dude’ statement.

Privacy is in a terrible situation right now.
Especially on the internet. You know, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter(X), Apple, and even Tumblr all collect information about you to show you scarily accurate advertisements among other things.
Why does this matter?
This isn't about hiding information, it's about protecting information. You wouldn't let me know your entire life, your diary, all your photos and text messages, so why do you let random companies do the same?
Privacy Guides - Why Privacy Matters
So how do you stop this?
You can't. But you can lessen this. So I'm going to show you a non-exhaustive list of what I've used and what I know of that may help your privacy. I would recommend you go to privacyguides.org after if you want a better explanation. I'm just here to show you cool things.
Disclaimer
I am not a library on this sort of information and this is what I choose to use. I may be incorrect and you may have differing opinions. Also, this may be too extreme for everybody. Use what works for you. Again, I would recommend you go to privacyguides.org after you read this for a more in-depth and better explanation.
VPNs
You know what a VPN is. You've seen the sponsorships. VPNs are one of the most popular privacy tools, but know that they are not the only tool that you'd need. This list is evidence of that.
I would recommend Proton VPN, Mullvad, and IVPN for most users, as they provide a far better amount of privacy and features than VPNs such as Nord VPN, Surfshark, and Express VPN. If you really want unlimited devices go with Windscribe.
I personally use Proton VPN due to the fact that I use their other services.
Browsers
You should probably know that Google Chrome is basically spyware at this point. The issue here is, almost all Chromium-based browsers are. These include, Edge, Opera, and Vivaldi. The only real exception would be Brave, but they've got leadership issues, which may not be a deal breaker for you.
So what do you use? A Firefox-based browser. This obviously includes Firefox, but most Firefox-based browsers are privacy-focused. The browsers that I recommend are Firefox, Librewolf, the Mullvad Browser, Waterfox, and Brave.
There is also the Tor Browser, but that is a whole 'nother can of worms that I will not go into. All I will say is that if you are in a high-risk environment(such as an oppressive regime) or you need absolutely no one to know that you searched that one thing, you may want to use the browser for anonymity.
I use Firefox as my main browser, with Brave as the browser that I use if something doesn't work on Firefox. I also use Tor if it is a high-risk situation.
Search Engines
Google, Bing, and Yahoo! all log your searches, you need alternatives. This is relatively straight-forward.
I recommend, Qwant, DuckDuckGo, SearXNG, Brave Search, and Startpage. Both Qwant and DuckDuckGo are fairly similar as they both use Bing search results and say that they don't track you. SearXNG is more complex, and I will not go into detail here. If you really want Google search results, use Startpage. And if you don't want your search to rely on Bing or Google, use Brave Search.
I use Qwant, mainly just cause its European.
Passwords
Passwords are the keys to your digital life. And most of the time they're not that great. You know the drill here, make passwords like this- XmaE7PEj2hq9ed$w - but you can't really remember them. For that you need a password manager.
I recommend Bitwarden, Proton Pass, and KeepassXC. Bitwarden and Proton Pass are more convenient, but you are trusting a single entity, reputable ones, but still. KeepassXC isn't as convienent, but you have near full control over what happens to it.
I use Proton Pass, as I use other Proton services.
Email
Email is identity, you almost always use your email in order to register for sites like Tumblr, and sites that aren't anything like Tumblr. Companies like Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo! all use your email inbox in order to gain more information about you for their companies. There are quite a few email providers, but I've only used and recommend two.
I recommend Proton Mail and Tuta Mail. Both are good email providers, although Proton would be better if you use other Proton services, like I do.
I use both Proton Mail and Tuta Mail for separate email addresses.
Aliases
Email Aliases are also very important for private email. Your email is your name, if you want to private, you'd go under pseudonyms. That's what email aliases are.
I recommend and have used Simplelogin and Firefox Relay. Email providers like Proton and Tuta also give you aliases when you pay. I don't know how well these work, but I assume that they work the Same as Simplelogin and Firefox Relay.
I use Simplelogin.
Devices/OSes
Phones
Now let's turn up the extremity to 11 as we look at your devices. Phone-wise, avoid Apple, they say that they care about your privacy, but they don't. Apple is better than Google, but I'd only recommend using an iPhone if you already have one, and it still has support left. If that's the case, then follow privacy guides like this one by Techlore(His channel is also really great for privacy guides). You should probably use a Google Pixel. Sounds weird as it's owned by GOOGLE, one of the companies that we don't want to be tracked by, but if we go with the Pixels we can use custom ROMs.
Most ROMs exist for your privacy, they are based on the Android Open Source Project(AOSP) which means they can run most of your favourite Android apps without messing them up with Google. In order to run most of your apps however, you're going to need some way of running Google Play Services. This is a backbone black-box that Google forces most of your apps to use in order to function. CalyxOS and LineageOS with MicroG both have MicroG, an open source implementation of Google Play Services. GrapheneOS just straight up uses Google Play Services but sandboxes it so that it can't get its tentacles all up in your phone.
I recommend going like this:
You have a modern-ish Google Pixel phone, go with GrapheneOS.
You don't have a Google Pixel, but your phone is still supported by CalyxOS, go with CalyxOS.
Your phone isn't supported by either of these but still is supported by LineageOS with MicroG, go with LineageOS.
Your phone isn't supported by any of these, you can do as much degoogling as you can.
Techlore also has a fantastic guide on Android Privacy.
Desktops/Laptops
Apple isn't actually that bad here, its better than Windows at least. But Linux is KING when it comes to privacy and security. There is definitely a learning curve here. Pin the terminal, you're going to use it a LOT. Also be aware that on Linux you won't have every single app that you're used to. If you don't really want that hassle, just go with Mac.
Linux distros that I recommend(for beginners) are: Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pop!_OS, and Elementary OS.
I use Ubuntu as it's the only one that I could get working on my computer.
Other Pieces of Advice
Use an Ad-blocker! Ads are terrible for privacy as companies can get their trackers in completely unrelated sites via their ads. I use and recommend uBlock Origin.
Don't use any personally identifying information online. Don't use your real name, a picture of you, your voice. The less you give to the internet, the more private you are.
Mix and Match! Explore what works for you. You might be okay with changing OSes but you might be a bit too reliant on GMail. That's fine! Just use what works.
Again, please go to privacyguides.org after this. This did not even scratch the surface but I hope this was useful to you in some way.

Hey I saw your tags on a prev post, can you tell me how you pirate content safely? (you can publish privately) thanks!
ok im going to start out that im not the 'end all be all' of piracy im like. constantly improving my craft (lol) but i'll explain everything i do to make sure i dont get caught while extensively downloading media
before that though if you just want to stream media and not torrent it you can just go to r/piracy's megathread and click the links through there
i WAS going to put this all under a read more but i was trying to link additional resources and this post has most of their explanation under a read more and since they deactivated their account you can't access it anymore. so on the off chance i deactivate i want to keep this post accessible, sorry its so long lol
some of this tutorial is only truly accessible if you have a computer that can stay on 24/7, which i know is not viable for everyone, so i went ahead and highlighted the things you need a computer thats always on for in blue
(honestly, you probably do all the things you need an always on computer for with a raspberry pi but i dont know jack shit about those (yet) so you'd have to look elsewhere on how to do that) i do all of my piracy on a windows desktop computer
1. the first thing you want to do when beginning your torrenting life is purchasing a good vpn.
i personally don't trust any vpn sponsored by youtubers to not sell you data to companies for profit, so i use ProtonVPN since i use their mail service and their servers are based in Norway i believe which has EXTREMELY strict privacy laws. they have a free version of it but it doesn't allow you to torrent.
NEVER USE A FREE VPN FOR TORRENTING EITHER! they are like. the least secure vpns in the world . a vpn is expensive but basically all of them are for plans that last well over a year so its a worthwhile investment
2. the next thing you'll want to do is select and set up your torrenting client
i personally use qbittorrent and it works great. DO NOT USE UTORRENT. while their are some versions that don't have a cryptominer attached to it, basically all of the versions do at this point so its better to just steer clear
once you have your torrenting client downloaded, you will want to set it up to only be able to connect to the internet through you're vpn. the images below show you how to do it in qbittorrent
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(image descriptions available in the alt text)
once you've done the steps in the image, click "apply" and then "ok" in the bottom right of the settings tab
the next part is only necessary if you are going to seed torrents (which i recommend you do if you can)
if you ARE going to seed torrents, you are going to need to enable port forwarding in your vpn and connect your torrenting client to the port specifed. the following images will show you how to do that with ProtonVPN and qBittorrent
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(image descriptions available in the alt text)
once you've done the steps in the image, click "apply" and then "ok" in the bottom right of the settings tab. you will want to make sure that connection status button, located two buttons to the left of your displayed download speed is a GREEN electrical cord plug. if it is red then you cannot download or seed. if it is yellow then you can download, but you cannot seed. it will take a couple of minutes for the specified port to update and the connection status to turn green.
3. now that you've done the hard part, its time for the EVEN HARDER part (this is, however, all completely optional). it is now time to set up tracked tv shows, movies, etc to automatically torrent when updates or a better quality becomes available
you do this using Radarr (for movies), Lidarr (for music), Sonarr (for TV shows), and Prowlarr (as your indexer to manage what torrent hosting clients you want these applications to use). when you download these applications and install them, you are going to want to
you first want to download all of these applications using the links above. you can choose which applications to download based on the things you're going to be downloading, however for any of these applications to work you are going to NEED to download Prowlarr. for simplicity sake i will walk you through setting up all of these from the beginning of my list to the end, except im starting with prowlarr first because that's what you need to set up the rest.
however, when installing ANY of these applications, you are going to have to choose whether to install it as a system tray application or a windows service. I'm going to copy and paste from the Prowlarr wiki what the difference means, though it applies to all of the applications
A Windows Service runs even when the user is not logged in, but special care must be taken since Windows Services cannot access network drives (X:\ mapped drives or \\server\share UNC paths) without special configuration steps.
Additionally the Windows Service runs under the 'Local Service' account, by default this account does not have permissions to access your user's home directory unless permissions have been assigned manually. This is particularly relevant when using download clients that are configured to download to your home directory.
It's therefore advisable to install Prowlarr as a system tray application if the user can remain logged in. The option to do so is provided during the installer.
now that you've installed the programs you want, its time to set up prowlarr. i am once again going to show you how to set it up using pictures
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(image descriptions available in the alt text)
that is how you add what torrent indexers (the websites that host torrents) you want to use to prowlarr. I only used TorrentGalaxy as an example, I don't actually use that site. I recommend being VERY careful and selective with what websites you use if they are a public tracker, as any of their torrents can host viruses. do your research before adding them. for convenience, however, I will list all of the public trackers I use so you can add them to Prowlarr if you like:
1337x
IBit
Internet Archive
Nyaa.si
Rarbg
Shana Project
SubsPlease
Torlock
YTS
you can also add private trackers, which is basically the same setup except you will have to input your username and password and/or an api key to allow prowlarr to access your account. I will explain private trackers later.
i will now show you how to connect prowlarr with the other applications you downloaded, once again with images
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you want to do this with every application you're using.
that's the basics for setting up Prowlarr. you can further customize it with the help of the Prowlarr wiki if you'd like, but this is all I'll be covering in this tutorial.
setting up the other applications pretty intuitive if after setting up prowlarr, however if you do need help this is the video i watched to set up the rest. you only need to watch how to set up one of these applications to know how to set up the rest, and you can ignore literally everything this person is saying besides how to set up sonarr radarr and lidarr. seriously, don't listen to the rest of what this person has to say it will only confuse you. i have the video hyperlinked to where you need to start to learn how to set up these applications (the one she walks you through in depth is sonarr)
4. now that you've set up the torrent trackers (or skipped that part, those are, again, optional), it's time to go back to your torrenting client and configure how it handles your torrents.
you can only download so many megabytes a second, and when you have a million torrents downloading at once it makes every single torrent download at a snails pace because of that. so, what you're going to want to do is set it to download only a certain number of torrents at a time, and queue the rest to download once one torrent finishes.
this setup is pretty self explanatory, so I won't use images and just explain it.
go back to the settings of your torrenting client, and click on the "BitTorrent" tab (this might be a tab specific to qbittorrent, if you are using a different client look for a tab that is called something similar) (you can alternatively just google how to set torrents to queue for your specific client)
click the checkbox next to the option "torrent queuing"
customize how many active downloads and uploads you want. I personally recommend having no more than 6 torrents downloading at a time so that way they can all download relatively fast. i have my seed (upload) limit set to 60 because I'm in private trackers (which i will explain more about later), but if you don't want to seed for whatever reason you can set that to 0 and it SHOULD (don't quote me on this) automatically stop your torrent once its finished downloading. this could also potentially throttle your download speed because torrents don't like it when you're not uploading them while downloading them, don't quote me on that either having downloads set to 0 is not something im familiar with at all
you can optionally also set your download and upload limits in the "speed" category of settings, though i recommend keeping them both at infinity
5. setting up your downloaded media so you can watch it
this part is really easy and ALSO technically optional but it makes your life so much more convenient so i really recommend doing it. we're going to set up Plex Media Server so it can auto sort through your libraries and organize everything.
download plex and create an account
launch the server and go to the settings page, indicated by the wrench icon in the top right
scroll all the way down the settings directory until you get to the 'Manage" subheading and click on "Libraries"
assign your media libraries to the folders on your hard drive. for this you are going to want to keep movies, tv, and music all in separate folders, and you are going to want to keep your tv shows within your tv folder separate as well.
click 'scan library files' and watch plex update your library in real time
there will be times where plex isn't able to grab the metadata for a piece of media you have, but i can tell you how to (hopefully) prevent that from happening:
in the settings menu, go to the "network" tab under the "settings" subheading
uncheck the box next to "Enable server support for IPv6"
thats it! it should be able to get the metadata for all your media now
6. joining private trackers
this is honestly some Advanced levels of torrenting, and you shouldn't join them if you don't have a device that can be on and seeding 24/7
private trackers are torrent trackers that you can only use if you have a registered account with. they generally have a higher quality selection of torrents with faster download speeds due to a higher seeders to leecher ratio. each tracker has their own rules you need to follow, but they all have similar baselines
maintain your download-to-upload ratio (this will be specified in the trackers FRQ)
after you finish downloading something, you then need to seed it for a certain amount of time (normally a week) or else it will be considered a 'hit n run' and you will face the appropriate consequences
some things are free leach, which means you can download them without it contributing negatively to your ratio. if you seed and upload free leaches they will count to your ratio positively, however
most private trackers are invite-only, but some do occasionally have open signups which you can track on r/opensignups
when joining any private tracker, i recommend only downloading things that are free leach until you have built a good buffer between your upload to download ratio.
this is barely a drop in the water explanation of private trackers, but it's a part of torrenting that i feel like most people don't know about and/or don't know how to get started with, so i felt like it was worth mentioning. r/piracy has a more in-depth explanation (and a better "how to get started" guide on their megathread
and that's it! this is my indepth beginners guide to torrenting and piracy. i will maybe come back to this later and add more / make the formatting better (tumblr post formatting has such bad options...)

Is it necessary to use game boosters?
Tumblr media
As the network environment is getting better and better, the speed of the network is getting faster and faster, players have higher requirements for the experience of online games, which leads to the emergence of a lot of game accelerator software. In the face of so many accelerator products, for many people who have not used it, they really do not know how to choose. The product introduction is all about the advantages of their own accelerator products, and the online evaluation is uneven.
The main functions of game booster are:
Reduce the network delay of the game and stabilize the network speed.
Reduce the packet loss rate of the game.
Game booster software can be regarded as a desktop application, but it establishes a virtual gateway between the user and the server in the form of software. to put it simply, it will bypass the original unstable channel to reduce the delay and packet loss rate and provide a good game experience environment for gamers.
Therefore, the game vpn can not only accelerate the network speed but also improve the stability of the line and low packet loss rate. This is the main role of the network accelerator. As for whether some gamers want to use the network accelerator or not, it mainly depends on personal experience. Some gamers in coastal areas can log in normally without speed-up software, but most gamers, they need to use network accelerators. If you are playing the game in addition to other configurations and the network meets the requirements of the situation, there is a card screen, disconnected, you need to accelerate the speed-up software, if not card screen, the experience is good, then you can not use it.
Due to the inequality of network resources, there is a game accelerator. If the whole network is compared to a traffic route, it is just like the morning rush hour, evening rush hour or road failure, and the network arrangement will be unequal. For example, there are differences in the arrangement of network lines and routing resources, such as interception (inaccessible), congestion and so on.
So what role does the game vpn play in this? It is similar to our GPS navigation and can help us choose the best "route". The accelerator will send your game data to the server of the accelerator operator, and the data returned by the operator is the optimized direct connect route to solve the problems of delay, disconnection, and inaccessibility for us, so as to speed up the game.
In fact, the existence is reasonable, if the accelerator for the game network speed does not have the slightest effect, then there will not be so many teams and merchants continue to launch game accelerator software. In fact, playing national service is all right, and network problems are not likely to occur, but if you play foreign service, because most of the servers are abroad, with long distance and high delay, if you are naked, stutter, disconnection, delay and other network problems can be found everywhere. Therefore, a good game accelerator is of course necessary.
Therefore, if you want to have a better game experience, you also need to learn to choose a good game vpn. As for whether the effect of the accelerator is good or bad, it varies from person to person, just like buying clothes, everyone has different standards for "good". Generally speaking, you can choose formal, well-known ones, and the probability of payment is better than that of free ones.

dark web links
Dark Web Links List
A dark web links list can be an invaluable resource for those who want to keep their information secure. You’ll find everything from a variety of private email services and encryption tips to instructions for anonymous operating systems.
How to Access Dark Websites
The first thing you’ll need to access the dark web is a Tor browser. These browsers are anonymity-focused and allow users to surf the web from any location.
To use a Tor browser, download it from its official website and install it on your computer or phone. The installation process is quick and straightforward.
You can also install the browser in a Windows guest account if you don’t have one. The Tor network is a popular alternative to Google and offers users privacy protection with fast search results.
The Hidden Wiki is a great resource for finding onion URLs on the dark web. The site doesn’t discriminate between safe and dangerous content, so you might run into some unpleasant sites.
Numbers Station is another excellent resource for.onion URLs, despite its eerily empty design. It’s a fun, nightmarish place to surf the dark web, but be aware that it may not work for everyone.
Choosing the Right Dark Web Search Engine
Dark web searches are difficult, if not impossible, to do without some extra help. While many search engines can be helpful, they’re often overloaded with irrelevant and timed-out search results.
The best way to avoid this is to use a VPN. This will hide your real internet address while surfing dark web links and prevent hackers from stealing your data.

The 15 Best IPTV Service Providers • 2024 Reviews
Table of contents:
Our TOP 5 Recommendations
VipTV4k – #1 Best IPTV Subscription Service in 2024
Xtreme HD IPTV
CatchON TV
HONEY BEE IPTV

Introduction
In 2024, the world of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is more dynamic than ever, offering a plethora of options for accessing a vast array of television content via the internet. Here, we present the best 15 IPTV service providers known for their reliability, content diversity, and user-friendly interfaces.
In this article, you will find the list of the best 15 IPTV services providers 2024 for FireStick devices such as New FireStick 4K, New FireStick 4K Max, and other platforms, including Android TVs, Android TV boxes, Android mobiles amp; handheld devices, iOS, Windows, and Mac.
The IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) services provided in this post are a great way to cut the cord and watch your favorite channels online. These services offer a cost-effective solution to stream cable channels, which could otherwise cost a fortune.
To get started, you need to buy the IPTV subscription and download the app on the supported devices. The IPTV providers mentioned here offer Live streaming in up to 1080p resolution.
While these services are primarily for Live TV streaming, some may include VOD movies and shows. Most of these services also support EPG or TV Guide to give you access to the TV Schedule.
Catch-Up TV, Multi-Screen features are also included with some of these IPTV streaming services.
Types of IPTV Providers
There are two types of IPTV providers to choose from – legal and unverified IPTV providers. Let’s discuss them and learn the differences between the two.
Legal IPTV Services
There is a simple trick to learn if an IPTV provider is legal or not. If the IPTV app is available on the Amazon App Store or Google Play store, it’s legal to use and download in your region.
We can confirm their authenticity as they are approved by Amazon and Google to distribute through the Amazon App Store or Google Play Store. Both Amazon and Google will be liable for copyright infringement if these IPTV apps stream any illegal TV series or movies.
Unverified IPTV Services
We can define unverified IPTV services as those that aren’t available in popular app stores. These are usually cheaper than legal IPTV providers out there.
Users need to sideload the apps on the supported devices to get things done. Due to the nature of an IPTV service, FireStickTricks can’t verify the legal status of each IPTV service in every region out there. Therefore we call them unverified IPTV service.
These IPTV services might stream TV series, sports events, or movies without proper licensing. Some media outlets in your country might have purchased the official rights to stream such content. In such cases, streaming the same content through these IPTV providers will not be legal in your region.
Most readers are usually interested in unverified services due to lower monthly fees and a huge content library. However, these services do carry some legal questions and security vulnerabilities.
Also, you shouldn’t directly commit to a yearly plan for unverified IPTV services, as we have seen many IPTV providers shut down businesses without prior notice. What happens to your personal data when these services get hacked or go out of business?
These IPTV providers don’t have a big media house to back them up. You will have to be cautious in the payment process and dealing with them.
Most unverified IPTV users connect to a VPN to keep their online streaming activities anonymous. If you have already subscribed to a VPN service, you should always connect it before using low-cost streaming services. If you don’t have a VPN yet, I would recommend ExpressVPN. It comes with dedicated apps for all devices and works with all unverified and legal IPTV services.
IPTV Requirements
Subscribing to an IPTV service is one part of the equation. You will need to have other elements for a flawless IPTV experience. Let’s talk about essential IPTV requirements.
High-Speed Internet
First, you need to invest in a high-speed internet connection for a buffer-free experience on the supported device. Most IPTV services come with full-HD live channels. You need at least 25 Mbps internet speed for a flawless watching experience.
Most United States residents have access to a high-speed internet connection. If you live in an area with no access to high-speed internet, we would advise you to stick with the satellite connection for now.
You can use services like Speedtest or Fast.com to check the current internet speed from the local ISP provider.

Enhance Your Online Privacy and Security with VPNs
Tumblr media
In an era where internet privacy is increasingly under threat, taking steps to safeguard your personal data has become crucial. One effective tool for enhancing your online privacy is a Virtual Private Network, or VPN. A VPN offers a layer of security that is vital in the contemporary digital landscape, where cyber threats loom large and personal privacy is shrinking.
When you use a VPN, your internet connection is routed through a specially configured remote server run by a VPN host. This means that your IP address, which is a unique string of numbers that identifies your device and its geographical location, is replaced by the server’s IP address. As a result, your online actions become anonymized, shielding your personal information from hackers, websites, and government surveillance.
Moreover, VPNs encrypt your data, providing an essential level of security. Encryption scrambles your data so that it can only be deciphered by your intended recipient. This protects sensitive information such as your financial details, passwords, and emails from cybercriminals and other unauthorized observers.
One significant benefit of using a VPN is the ability to access content that may be restricted in your geographic location. This includes streaming services, news publications, and social media platforms. Whether due to governmental restrictions, licensing laws, or workplace policies, VPNs provide a gateway to unrestricted information and entertainment.
However, it's essential to choose a reliable VPN provider. The best VPN services offer robust encryption, a wide range of server locations, strict no-log policies, and high-speed connections. Investing in a reputable VPN service is crucial because some lesser-known or free services may compromise your security rather than enhancing it.
For individuals concerned about their online privacy and security, incorporating a VPN into your digital routine is a wise move. It not only secures your online data but also enhances your internet freedom by bypassing geographical limitations and censorship.
If you're keen to delve deeper into how a VPN can fortify your online privacy, safeguard your digital transactions, and access global content, visit Online Privacy with VPN. Setting Up a Residential Server: A Step-by-Step Guide
In today’s digital age, having a residential server can offer numerous benefits, from enhanced security and privacy to centralized storage and media streaming capabilities. Setting up a residential server may seem daunting at first, but with the right guidance, it can be a rewarding and empowering experience. In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the process of setting up your own residential server.
Step 1: Planning and Preparation
Before diving into setting up your residential server, it’s crucial to plan and prepare adequately. Consider the following points:
Purpose: Define the purpose of your server — whether it’s for file storage, media streaming, hosting a website, or other specific tasks.
Hardware: Choose the right hardware based on your needs. This includes a reliable server-grade computer, sufficient storage drives, adequate RAM, and a stable internet connection.
Operating System: Select a suitable operating system for your server. Popular choices include Linux distributions like Ubuntu Server, CentOS, or specialized server OS like Windows Server.
Step 2: Installation and Configuration
Once you have your hardware and software ready, it’s time to install and configure your residential server:
Install the Operating System: Follow the installation instructions for your chosen operating system. Ensure all necessary drivers are installed correctly.
Network Configuration: Set up network settings, including IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS servers. Ensure your server is connected to your home network.
Security: Implement security measures such as firewall configurations, user authentication, and regular software updates to protect your server from potential threats.
Tumblr media
Step 3: Setting Up Services
After the basic setup is complete, you can start configuring services on your residential server:
File Storage: Set up file-sharing services like Samba (for Windows) or NFS (for Linux) to create a centralized storage solution accessible from all devices on your network.
Media Server: Install media server software like Plex or Emby to stream movies, music, and photos to various devices within your home.
Web Server: If you plan to host a website, install a web server software like Apache or Nginx and configure it to serve web pages.
Step 4: Remote Access and Monitoring
To manage your residential server effectively, consider setting up remote access and monitoring tools:
Remote Access: Configure remote access tools like SSH (Secure Shell) or VPN (Virtual Private Network) to manage your server from anywhere securely.
Monitoring: Install monitoring software like Nagios or Zabbix to keep track of server performance, resource usage, and potential issues proactively.
Step 5: Backup and Disaster Recovery
Lastly, don’t forget to implement a robust backup and disaster recovery plan for your residential server:
Regular Backups: Schedule regular backups of your data to an external drive, cloud storage, or another server to prevent data loss in case of hardware failure.
Disaster Recovery Plan: Create a detailed disaster recovery plan outlining steps to restore your server in case of a catastrophic event.
By following these steps and guidelines, you can successfully set up a residential server that meets your specific needs and enhances your digital lifestyle. Remember to stay informed about best practices, security updates, and new technologies to keep your server running smoothly and securely. Happy server building!

What Makes MPLS and SD-WAN-Based Office Networks Different
Tumblr media
Multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) or software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN)? Most business owners in Saskatoon who must choose between the two want to know which will work better for their office network. To make the right choice, you first need to understand their differences.
In short, MPLS is a dedicated circuit, while SD-WAN is a virtual connection that does not depend on physical links. Because of this, MPLS is better at preventing packet loss. The virtual overlay in SD-WAN, on the other hand, allows users to utilize additional network links such as LTE, broadband, and MPLS, offering more flexibility.
Compare Costs
Companies that use MPLS networks typically employ a hub-and-spoke model with separate MPLS connections to link their remote offices to the main data center. As a result, all data, processes, and even cloud-based services require routing back to the data center for processing and redistribution. This setup is often not cost-effective.
SD-WAN reduces costs by connecting multiple locations through private, distributed data exchanges and control points. This configuration allows users improved and more direct access to the cloud and networking services they require.
Issues with Security
The internal backbone of the service provider acts as a secure and managed link between the company’s data center and branch offices, a benefit well-known to companies using MPLS. Most public internet services do not offer this level of security.
However, it's important to note that MPLS does not inherently inspect the data it carries. A firewall must be installed at one end of the link to scrutinize all traffic for malware and other security threats.
Additionally, this is a challenge that most SD-WAN systems face, necessitating enhanced security measures. Integrating security tools post-deployment complicates the process.
To prevent these issues, skilled network installation service providers incorporate SD-WAN connectivity directly into a next-generation firewall (NGFW) device. Each connection, therefore, features dynamic, meshed virtual private network (VPN) capabilities to secure data in transit. Several security tools, including firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion prevention systems, web filtering, and anti-malware, are employed to thoroughly scrutinize data.
How the Network Operates
In terms of performance, MPLS offers a consistent and fixed bandwidth level, which is advantageous for businesses. However, today's network traffic has variable speed demands. Thus, when businesses opt for an MPLS solution, there may be periods when expensive bandwidth remains underused, and times when MPLS may strain network connectivity due to the ever-increasing volume of data transmitted through new apps and devices.
SD-WAN can identify the types of apps in use and adjust bandwidth accordingly. It also sets up multiple parallel links to facilitate load sharing. Another advantage is failover, which involves switching to an alternate link if one connection fails. This feature ensures that latency-sensitive applications continue to perform optimally.
When MPLS May Be Preferable to SD-WAN
There are instances where MPLS might be a more suitable choice than SD-WAN, despite being considered an older network protocol by many.
MPLS remains an effective method for establishing secure and isolated connections for apps, transactions, and data that need to be kept separate from public internet networks. It offers a high level of data security. Both MPLS and SD-WAN can also be used together to manage various online activities.
If you are undecided between SD-WAN and MPLS, do not hesitate to consult network service providers. They understand how to leverage each technology in different scenarios and can help you choose the best option for your digital-first office.
