at Bearden 2 Maryville 1
Thursday, April 20, 2023 7pm
Down at halftime in a hard-fought District 4-AAA matchup, Bearden overcame a 1-0 deficit and overwhelmed a visiting Maryville team 2-1 Thursday.
Lucas Nordin, marked and double-teamed all game, scored midway through the second period when Ethan Ford hit him on a break across the eighteen, freeing up the All-State forward for a quick strike from fifteen yards to level the score at 1-1.
Sixty-two seconds later, defender Nic Prins placed a long direct kick to Hayden Tate on the right side, who fired a right-footed half-volley from the corner of the eighteen into the back of the net to give Bearden the lead with 18:48 remaining.
Scrappy encroaching defender Cole Hutchison led a swarming and punishing defensive effort that dominated the Rebels during the final forty minutes. Fellow outside back Prins locked things down on his side of the pitch to complement his precise left-footed corner kicks. Chandler Donohoe was everywhere in the middle, stealing balls and disrupting the Rebel offensive sets, and had a key defensive header on a late Maryville corner kick. Sophomore Cole Stopka was solid on the backline with his defensive headers and booming clears.

i have a lot of feelings re: that midseason finale, especially with chandler’s hollywood reporter review making it seem like he was very blindsided by the decision (AND THAT THE KID HAD JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE CLOSE TO FILMING AND TAKEN A YEAR OFF OF SCHOOL).
it feels like lazy writing and it cheapens abraham, glenn, and sasha’s deaths by saying that carl’s is the only one who could possibly make rick see the light and spare negan. it feels like gimple and co didn’t plan well and that they scrambled for a solution, despite having a plethora of source to draw from with the comics anyhow. it feels like a cop out to write carl out like that.
maybe don’t write yourself into a corner? maybe don’t force your own hand? maybe stop being an idiot and pay attention to the source material and literally take away the hope and redemption and possibility of a future from this entire series.
i was alright when maybe chandler had made the call because he wanted to do other things or he wanted to go to school and have a life, but that interview (at least in my opinion) made it sound like it wasn’t what he wanted at all. he was ready to commit more of his life to this show and its fanbase and instead gimple threw him under the bus and gave carl a shoddy, meaningless death with even worse writing.
this death feels cheap and meaningless and chandler riggs fucking deserves better than that.

The San Antonio Spurs traded the draft rights of Nikola Milutinov to the Nets. The Spurs traded a 2022 second round draft pick to the Wizards. The Wizards traded a 2024 second round draft pick and a 2025 second round draft pick to the Brooklyn Nets. The Washington Wizards traded Chandler Hutchison to the San Antonio Spurs. Indiana also received a trade exception.
Russell Westbrook, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel and Lakers president Rob Pelinka spoke to the media after the Lakers announced the five-team trade.

Beauty and the beast is a story trope that has been told and retold many times. Do you care about the other versions? Or do you only care about the Disney version?
The Disney classic of 1991
is and will always be my favorite adaptation of all times. Nothing can top it.
But since this fable is my favorite among them, I have cared on watching, listening, playing, and reading other adaptations indeed.
As a kid I caught on tv the 1987 film, Beauty and the Beast. Also known as Cannon Movie Tales: Beauty and the Beast.
At some point I think I also caught the 1992 animated film by Golden Films.
When I got older and internet was available to me, I found the 1987 tv series starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman as Catherine Chandler and Vincent.I like this one a lot.
I was a regular viewer of the 2011 ABC show, Once Upon A Time. The characters of Belle and “Beast” were played by Emilie de Ravin and Robert Carlyle.
On 2014 I found out about the Franco-German film.
Near the release of the 2017 live action remake of the Disney classic
I felt kind of nostalgic (don’t know if that’s really the word I’m looking for) and wanted to search for one of the most famous and memorable, I think, adaptations of this story. The 1946 film by French poet and filmmaker Jean Cocteau; La Belle et la Bête. What a classic as well.
While Beauty and the Beast isn’t the main reason why I got into the videogame, The Wolf Among Us; seeing that the characters of Beauty and Beast are part of the story/game made it even better for me. I hope they’ll be back for TWAU2. They are voiced by Melissa Hutchison and Gavin Hammon in the first game.
Since the game is based on the Vertigo comic books, Fables, and I wanted to see more of Beauty and Beast in this verse; I read those as well.
I have played many other videogames of Beauty and the Beast. Though of course these are part of the Disney franchise.
Last but not least, there’s the Broadway musical. I have never watched a production. Just listened to the original Broadway soundtrack, which is my favorite.
I know of the 2012 tv show starring Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan as Catherine and Vincent. But I’m not a fan of that one.
And here they are. I belive these are all the adaptations I’m familiar with.
