This figure can be interpreted as Verturmnus having regained his appearance as a young man
The muse of Auguste Rodin, Camille Claudel, 1864/1943 executed a plaster of the subject around 1886. But disappointed not to have a commission from the State, the group was not made in marble, thanks to the Countess de Maigret , only in 1905.
