translated 3 lines from the assassin ep and they immediately went against the vibe of the scene im literally writing right now, so im just going to pretend i didnt see it

Sometimes I rethink the plot of the fic and wonder "hmmmm would the Cartouche gang really be that chill about having Falconi around" and then I remember we literally do have an episode where they all rush in to help a guy who, for all they know, just committed murder in broad daylight

Spent far too long staring at every single frame of those 5 Cartouche episodes while adding the subtitles for youtube and now im just noticing all the continuity errors oh no

the one episode where Falconi shows up for 10 seconds just to go “hey boss wouldnt it be sweet if that kid died haha” and do nothing else though

Keep telling myself i need to stop writing Falconi glaring at things, but the problem is if you look at any given episode he’s in that’s what he spends at least 35% of his time doing

Suddenly realizing that Falconi is the one who insists on teaming up with Cartouche in Le secret du Lorrain?? like. this is objectively a 100% optional thing he did right there

The detail about the regent keeping a small gun in his office desk is so, so good but i havent quite figured out how to include it in the fic and that's a failure on my part tbh

i do love how the Cartouche books constantly describe Falconi as this scary hypercompetent evil dude, bc when you look at the plots it becomes extremely funny. You’re telling me this terrifying man’s plan got thwarted by [reads notes] Cartouche pretending to be a parrot

One of book!Falconi’s best traits is his use of “mon cher Cartouche [derogative]” ngl

One high quality detail about the Secret du Lorrain book ending is that, unlike in the show, Cartouche doesn’t even have to suggest Le Lorrain and Falconi should go for an unarmed fight instead of a duel; these idiots take one look at their broken swords and immediately start punching each other
