Something of a spin on "Miraculous Classroom" idea of @princess-of-the-corner fame.
Summary:
When Carline helped Chloe smuggle Adrien into the school system, she also took the opportunity to... Tweak her class roster.
Only a little, just enough that she could finally have the time to focus on the students who needed more guidance, be it with work and education, illnesses or... attitude.
Unfortunately, her carefully laid plans come to naught when Marinette's cooler opens to reveal not a cake, but ten little gods intent n reclaiming their lost siblings.
& her students want to help them.
A Miraculous what if/AU, there are twelve Kwami, nine students, several early transfers and at least one responsible adult!
What If:
This elements are fairly self explanatory.
Fu, rather than combat Hawk Moth directly wanted to take the Kwami to a shrine or temple somewhere outside of Paris, to find new potential students and bearers to restart the order and then deal with Hawk Moth. However thanks to happenstance and a little magic from a few impatient Kwami, the cooler he was using to hide the box got swapped with Marinette's and then she revealed them to the class on accident.
&
Gabriel could not have been the one to put Adrien in the school system so I can only assume Chloe did something. In this case, she collaborated with Carline, who used the situation to finally get her "Troubled Teens" class idea off the floor. Though in exchange she gets all the exchange students.
& some transfers happened earlier, Marinette low key already knows ALya & Kagami & Lila are already here. Also the reason Sabrina isn't is cos Carline felt her issues were mostly in response to Chloe and that separating them would be healthiest. She is still dedicated to helping these kids!
Alternate Universe:
This has to do with world building more than anything.
Long story short, I found some of the later Kwami way over powered, or utterly useless and some of the older one's too one note. As a result I re-structured and combined different elements to make the twelve fundamental forces.
What's more they also came about in distinct eras. So Snake is technically the oldest, but its alongside Ladybug due to being a chicken & egg situation. Meanwhile Cat is "Younger" by microseconds.
Similarly, the next eras concepts also emerged at around the same time as they kind of relied on one another to exist or for an opposite, or to function.
After that however things get a bit more drawn out, with Horse predating its siblings, and Fox being elder than Peacock and Butterfly who are essentially the babies of the family.

As to why the Kwami did this, well, not all were in on it, it was mostly Sass, Trixx, Pollen & Roaar who were in on it. With Plagg endorsing once he knew while Tikki & the others are either neutral or less in favor.
Its basically a debate on doing it now or doing it the "proper" way but all have distinct motivations and some even just a general desire to have more freedom.
Here is how everyone partners up:
After the initial release, chaos and confusion, things break into several smaller factions. With Carline, a nervous & blaming herself Marinette, Sass & very irritated Tikki trying to bring order or at least sense. All while other interactions take place which people drift in and out of the conversations and exactly what is going on and why is explained and bonds are formed.
Marinette & Tikki partner cos both of them are getting stress migrains trying to understand/manage the situation and Alya's like, "Oh gosh she even gets stressed like you do, perfect match!"
Chloe gets Pollen because she slapped Plagg across the room after he mistook her jacket for cheese & was unafraid when he started going all "I am the god of destruction" on her. Such an impeccably strong will is the only one fitting for the Kwami of order & subjugation.
Adrien got Plagg by intervening to stop the fight & or murder by offering food: "Hey, uh I totally have some cheese with me, I was kind of just grabbing stuff at random in the cupboard this morning cos it was dark, so feel free to it." - Minutes later "Where do you put it all!?" - "In ma belly!!!!" So he's Plagg's fave by default.
Alya is so excited and eager to jump in and opinionated on the fact Kwami damn right deserve the chance to rescue their siblings when they want to and also can she have an interview please. That Trixx decides they like her vibes and the two start discussing mythic heroes and comic books.
Lila's boastful nature catches the attention of Kaalki who decides she would be a "suitable" bearer. Lil is already cooking up BS claims about having done vigilantism before, but living with Kaalki will be another matter.
Ways and Nino is mostly because Nino is the only one to really notice and try to check up on the turtle who seems really down about the whole situation and they share a chill vibe.
Rose & Mouse is basically them both going "Oh you are so cute" while Tiger assumes Juleka is a wild child cos of her goth aesthetic. At first she is disappointed but it turns out having a second identity lets Juleka go fuck wild so it works.
Dragon & Kagami is obvious cos family symbiology and her already having a sword & a proper manner of speaking which works with Longg's archaic manner.
Carline only end up agreeing to work with Sass because his powers can ensure the students don't die. "My power is to watch over you so you do not die."

The shifts in powers in some cases are not immense, though a few noteworthy are:
Tiger is more like creating explosions with imbalances in the universe. Mouse can multiply themself but also duplicate objects and creatures. Fox can make some illusions physical and place illusions in people's heads. Bee can sting objects and command them to obey via impose.
What's more, the powers are not one use only, strictly speaking.
What happens is that you can use lesser versions of the powers multiple times, or you can use the payload once.
So Chloe can for example sting five enemies and keep them all still for one minute at a time. Or she can sting one enemy and keep it still for five minutes. Lila can teleport herself around a great deal but portals tucker her out, ETC.
The basic sequence of events from meeting Kwami to super heroes, is mostly everyone getting just enough context. Sass conceding he should have consulted Tikki but standing by the decision to try and rescue their siblings- They are interrupted by thunderous roaring as an Akuma begins tearing up the streets of Paris.
Bustier: Class, no one and I mean no one is to try using magic, let alone revealing this or racing off into danger. Am I understood-
Akuma (Attacking a few blocks away)
Sass: I could literally feel that about to happen as you spoke.
The students break up into:
Team: "Has zero plan but wants to fight!"
Chloe, Kagami, Adrien, Alya, Rose. They are also enabled by Lila opening a portal.
Alya: Wooh, time to be a hero, Trixx Transform moi!
Chloe: I won't let anyone get ahead of me, or destroy Paris, Pollen, Transform moi!
Adrien: Hey wait for me, this sounds exciting and also I don't want you to die!
Kagami: A battle, heroic and wicked forces clashing? This is what I was born for!
Rose: Oh no, that monster is where the hospital is, Mullo, Transform Moi!
Team: "Does not want to do this but has to"
Marinette, Nino, Carline, Juleka & technically Lila as she wants to avoid danger.
Juleka: Girlfriend noooo (Trails after her)
Marinette: I can't let Alya die, or Chloe try to be a hero, she'll kill us all!
Nino: Ok several friends in danger now, guess I gotta do it.
Lila: Well, I have a little experience in these matters, maybe I can help us all along to save my new home?
Sass: My power would allow you to better ensure their safety.
Bustier: … Sass… Transfor moi. (Runs after them)
& that is basically the just of it!
Also thanks to @generalluxun for convincing me Trixx definitely belongs with Alya! Kaalki and Lila is too good a combo to pass up as well.

Roman Honor: The Fire in the Bones. Back in 2012, we published a series on the history and decline of traditional manly honor in the West. I thought I had turned over every rock when researching those posts, but a few months after we wrapped up the series, I came across Roman Honor: The Fire in the Bones by Carlin Barton, a professor of ancient history at the University of Massachusetts. I wish I had known about this book when I was researching and writing our series on honor. Roman Honor is the best book I’ve read on honor — bar none. Barton masterfully explores how honor shaped the lives of ancient Rome from the early days of the Republic through the fall of the empire. She shows how small, intimate groups are vital for honor to survive and how imperialism kills it. This book is a hard read, but it’s well worth the effort. The insights are so brilliant they’re almost startling, and even the footnotes are packed with fascinating asides.
“How to Do Great Work.” Computer scientist and venture capitalist Paul Graham wrote a good essay on what it takes to do great work. Lots of great insights on how to tackle wildly ambitious projects that leave a mark on the world. One tactic that stood out to me was to not plan too much:
The trouble with planning is that it only works for achievements you can describe in advance. You can win a gold medal or get rich by deciding to as a child and then tenaciously pursuing that goal, but you can’t discover natural selection that way.
I think for most people who want to do great work, the right strategy is not to plan too much. At each stage do whatever seems most interesting and gives you the best options for the future. I call this approach ‘staying upwind.’ This is how most people who’ve done great work seem to have done it.
The Last Dance. I’ve been watching the Netflix docuseries about the Chicago Bulls 1997-1998 season, The Last Dance, and I’m really enjoying it. First, there’s the nostalgia factor. If you were a kid in the 90’s the Bulls were THE team and Michael Jordan was THE guy, and the series takes me back to my high school days. But the best part of the series is getting an up close and personal look at the lives of some larger-than-life characters. Jordan’s tenacity and competitive drive is inspiring; even if you already knew he was THE guy, you’re doubly convicted of that — his level of play is almost magic. Highly recommend.

Agnes/Estinien. Agnes takes Estinien to a pub and has no clue everyone is flirting with her. Oh dear.
Despite her own feelings on the matter, Agnes was the center of attention one evening while out with Estinien in the Black Shroud. She had taken Estinien to meet Buscarron and have a nice evening at the Druthers, but several old adventuring friends also happened to be there and wanted to catch up. And then there were some friends from the Conjurer’s Guild. And then fellow Serpents who wanted say hello. This is a bit much. What I wouldn’t give to grab Estinien and run…
Meanwhile, her beloved was in a corner and on his fourth ale, watching her like a hawk.
“Oi Agi! It’s been a while!” Theron, a midlander hyuran warrior, called out as she paid for another water from Buscarron.
“Oh hello Theron! Yes, it has. How have you been?”
“Good, good. And you’re looking good yourself.” He winked.
That’s so nice of him to say! Agnes smiled. “Thank you! You in the Twelveswood for a job?”
“Aye, getting some green magic folk through Tam-Tara. You should come along! We could use a veteran healer, and the pay is good. Besides, it’ll be good to have you by my side once more.”
“That’s very generous, Theron, truly…” Agnes said as she tried to locate Estinien in the crowd. “But I’m rather occupied both at the moment and with other jobs.” Like being the fucking Warrior of Light, mate.
“What a shame, Agi. I’d love to have one of your regens.” His hand slipped around her waist, and Agnes froze. What?! What is he doing?! I’m not…I…no! No!
“Take your hand off her before you lose it.” A cold, deep voice murmured from next to Theron.
Uh oh, there’s Estinien. “I—”
“And just who do you think you are? Agi’s an old friend, and she’s about to come sit with me, weren’t you Agi?”
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no? “Erm, Theron, actually—”
“I’ll give you five seconds for you to remove your hand from my lady before I skewer you with my lance and leave your corpse for the animals outside.”
Oh dear. Oh no. Let’s not do this.
Theron, a fulm shorter than Estinien, puffed his chest. “My lady? Agi, are you with this arrogant prick?”
A blush crept onto her face. “Theron, yes, Estinien and I—”
“One.”
“You cannot be serious! HIM?”
“Two.”
“Theron, seriously just let it go. It was lovely seeing—”
“Three.”
“Agi, him? Him? His neck’s too long, and my axe could break him in one fell swoop.”
“Four.”
“Theron, please…” Ooooooh this is bad.
“I’ll save your countdown, ser. Theron, Agi’s with this man so try your luck with any of the other ladies and let her and her man have some bloody peace and quiet.” Buscarron said, arms crossed over his chest.
To Agnes’s immense relief, Theron nodded and walked away.
“I don’t take kindly to threatening others in my establishment, Ser Estinien. That’s your only warning---out of my immense respect for Agi.” Buscarron went back behind the bar with a nod to Agnes, who stood mutely with her glass of water.
When she felt Estinien’s hand on her elbow, she nearly jumped out of her skin. “Oh! Sorry, I—”
“Table’s this way.” He said with no emotion in his voice. This still isn’t good. Maybe we should leave.
“We can go, if you want. Head back to the Carline Canopy or maybe sit by the river in Bentbranch or…”
He said nothing, let go of her elbow, and walked to the table in the corner. Agnes followed silently and sat down opposite him, staring at her water.
“Love, I—”
Estinien raised the bottle to his lips and took a large swig. After a moment, he said, “He was flirting with you, Agi. And so were many other men tonight who talked to you.”
Wait…what? Agnes blinked in shock. “I didn’t know until he put his hand on waist. I thought he was just being friendly! Wait, were all of them flirting?”
He groaned and massaged his temples. “You are so smart yet so blind to everything around you sometimes. Of course they were flirting! Have I not said that you’re a gorgeous woman?!”
The blush became redder. “I thought that was just your dick talking!”
Estinien make a noise of disgust and took another swig from the bottle. “You are…fucking something else, Agi, I swear to the Fury. Alright, some of the time it is, but most of the time it’s me saying you’re beautiful and I love you. But that’s besides the point---the point is all these men have been flirting with you, throwing themselves at you all night, and I’ve been over here stewing in my own bloody…” He took another swig.
Is he…wait, is he jealous?! No. No. He can’t be. He knows that I wouldn’t, right? She cautiously reached for one of his hands. “Love, you know I’d never leave you for anyone else, right?”
He enveloped his large, scarred hands over hers. “I do. Truly. I just…you said this was to be about you and I having a good time, and no one’s left you alone since we got here. Been in this corner drinking by myself.”
Agnes looked and felt completely dejected. “Oh.” Alright, I’ve cocked this up completely. But I can make it up to him! Hmmmm, where to go where we’ll be left alone…OH!!!! “I have an idea!”
Estinien raised an eyebrow and took another swig. “Oh?”
“Yes! We’ll have to go to the East Shroud, but I swear it isn’t too far away. It’s a lovely spot, and we can be alone. No more people flirting with me. I promise. I’ll make this ri—”
He sighed heavily and leaned back in his chair. “Agi, you needn’t do anything. We can stay here.”
“But I want to! And I swear you’ll like it. Please?” Don’t make me beg. I am not above begging when it comes to ensuring your happiness. Anything to have you smile. Anything. Everything. I’ll run stark bloody naked through The Pillars if you’d smile.
Agnes then resorted to drastic measures.
She pouted.
Estinien let out a frustrated noise and massaged his temples again. “Fine, fine we’ll go to this spot of yours.”
Yes!!! I knew it! Agnes nearly leapt up from her chair and began gathering her things. “You won’t regret it, I promise! I’ll even buy you an extra bottle of ale to take with us!” She hurried to the bar and paid the tab.
“Agi, really. You—”
She returned quickly, smiled, grabbed his hand, and dragged him out of the pub. “It’ll be wonderful! It’s a very romantic spot.”
They teleported to East Shroud, where Agnes took Estinien’s hand once more and dragged him through the Bramble Patch. “Agi, really, we can—”
“It’s not much farther, love! And I have some cakes for us in my bag. It’ll be so nice!” Just a bit farther. And then he’ll see! He will! It’ll be much better than the pub. Sorry Buscarron. Agnes stopped them as they arrived at their destination.
Estinien’s mouth hung open in shock. “What is this place?”
“The Sanctum of the Twelve. It was only rediscovered after the Calamity. Scholars are still studying it, but mainly it’s used as a wedding venue. At night though, as you can see, it’s quite a romantic spot. Come on, let’s sit on the stairs by the water.” Agnes went ahead and sat on one of the lower stairs and glanced at the water. “Love?”
He blinked and quickly ran down the stairs to meet her. “Forgive me. I…this place is lovely.”
Told you! She grinned and removed the bottle of ale and the cakes out of her bag, handing the ale and a cake to Estinien. “Yes, it is. When I have the time, I like to come here, even during the day, and just…think. Or sometimes not think at all. It’s a pleasant spot to just…be, you know? Sometimes I’d daydream as I watched wedding parties over here.” She giggled and gave him a mischievous smile. “Sometimes I’d even let loose some little magic fireworks after weddings, when everyone is outside chatting and hide. How I loved hearing the ‘ooohs’ and ‘aaaahs’ and everyone so happy!” She took a bite of her cake. And how I’d think it would never happen to me. And now…we have each other. And maybe…someday…it’ll be us.
Estinien smiled warmly and wrapped an arm around her broad shoulders. “Why am I not surprised you did that? My sweet Agi.” He placed a kiss on her head. “I would ask for your forgiveness for my behavior earlier. Twas wrong of me to act like such a brute.”
Agnes’s eyes widened. Did he just…? HE DID?! “Love, I was in the wrong too. I should’ve just said ‘no’ to everyone wanting to speak to me. This is our night, and I—” She felt another kiss pressed to hear dark red hair.
“You did nothing wrong. And we are together now, no? Together and partaking in such a view, though,” he squeezed her upper arm. “The view is naught compared to my lady.”
She wrinkled her nose and giggled. “When my love become a poet? I knew of his skill with a lance but ah, such words!” Oh gods, keep talking like this, Estinien. I am loving it!
He chuckled. “The poetry happens with so many ales, my angel.” With his free hand, Estinien held the rest of his little cake and contemplated it. “A sweet for my sweet. Open up.” Dutifully, Agnes opened her mouth. He placed piece of cake in her mouth, and as she closed, his long, calloused fingers danced on her lips. “Good girl.” He murmured. His thumb parted her lips ever so slightly.
I’m going to fucking die right here. Burst into sexual tension flames. Poof! There I go! “’Stinien…”
“Hmmmm, mayhap we should return to the inn, sweetheart…and use one of your sound-damping enchantments…” Estinien smiled dreamily and lightly brushed his lips against hers.
I am dead. I am deceased. Agnes swallowed and sighed. “Ah, yes, of course…let’s head back.”
Unfortunately for Agnes, Estinien fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
