Brutal Truth - Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses
Another classic Grindcore record for you sick freaks. This one from the amazing group Brutal Truth. This one to me has so much more of a slow death metal esc vibe to it while still clearly being grindcore to me. Also so much of the lyrics and politics of this record are way ahead of their time. How many grindcore bands were writing songs about queer liberation in the 90’s? Not enough is the answer, but brutal truth was. Yeah they had the obligatory “Im not gay but…” lyric but it’s awesome to know they stuck their necks out there. The rest of the lyrics are similarly biting especially it’s commentary on religion, which as an edgy anti-theist myself I loved. Just a great record to put on and let them consume you with their amazing sludgy grindcore esc metal riffs and great composition. An absolute CLASSIC!
