Okay. I am grossly overdue for telling you about my adventures at the Sherlock convention. If you don't care, of course, feel free to move along. But for anyone that does care, do read ahead.
Friday: Friday morning was spent in Hollywood. I was emotional as soon as we set foot out of the Lyft ride and actually cried tears while standing on Hollywood Blvd. Visiting Hollywood was something that I had always dreamed of since I was a child. For me to be able to make that dream come true… I can't even put into words how amazing it felt. Naturally, we stopped in a souvenir shop. There, I looked through a rack of souvenir keychains that were designed to look like stars on the Walk of Fame. They were black squares with pink Stars just like the real thing. I found one with Andrew's name on it and immediately knew that we had to get it to him. after all, he truly does deserve a star on the Walk of Fame for his incredible talent. When the time came, we made our way to the Marriott for registration. The rest of Friday was relatively uneventful. The four of us did have our photo taken in front of the aquarium bench and backdrop inspired by The Six Thatchers (The bench was actually the real one used in the show). We were also fortunate enough to be able to have our photo taken on the screen-used living room set of 221B. To our surprise, those chairs are actually extremely narrow. Sherlock's chair is just as squishy and comfortable as it looks. The night ended with the Chinese Circus-themed party which just ended up being a dance but was actually kind of cool. We did try to check out karaoke but they kept the lights on and it just kind of over all sucked. So we skipped out on that in favor of food and sleep. Saturday: Saturday morning I'll admit that I cried during the opening ceremony just from actually seeing Andrew Scott up on the stage and processing the fact that he's a very real person. I did bid to try and get into his meet and greet but unfortunately I lost. I was pretty visibly upset by this fact considering my emotional attachment to him and the fact that he was the reason that I attended the convention. However, this did not stop Blue Hair Girl from bragging about the meet-and-greet and shoving her selfie with him in my face. I ended up using the money that I bid on the meet and greet with to purchase a second autograph with Andrew (so that I could still have him sign my DVD even though I planned on having him design my tattoo) and a photograph with Jonathan Aris. Poor Jonathan got no love from any fans all weekend. Every time I saw his autograph table it was nearly empty or the line was extremely short. because of that, I did ask if I could go up and speak to him. The staff obliged and he was so sweet. That's what made me decide to buy the photograph with him. I got Steven Moffat’s autograph first. I wasn't sure what to think but he was actually very nice. I followed that up with Arwel’s autograph and he was also very nice. Unfortunately, the lunch break we were on ran a bit late so we just caught the end of Jonathan and Alistair's panel. But from what I did get to see it was very enjoyable. I can say that I absolutely loved Una, Wanda and Tim's panel. The three of them together were just a scream. Poor Tim could barely get a word in edgewise. But it was a delight to hear Tim and Wanda share stories about Benedict. I did have a mild freak-out prior to Andrew’s photograph because it was the first time I was actually getting to meet him. Immediately after, I walked off until wait for my photo to print and I collapsed against the back wall and just sobbed. Luckily, the anxiety part of my brain always seems to work no matter what so I skedaddled from the room before we could get yelled at for lingering. Naturally, I absolutely ADORED Andrew’s panel. He was so funny and it’s completely adorable how fidgety he is. Saturday Night: The drinks reception was, by far, the highlight of the weekend. An old lady kept yelling at us while we were waiting in the hallway even though we weren't being very loud and it was only 7pm. There were about 10 of us per table. I'll tell you that two glasses of white wine loosened me up and made me more talkative than I otherwise would have been. We started with Alistair and I found out that he's absolutely marvelous. He completely understood what fandom means to us all and why we were there. He was so funny and engaging. He told us he had a party to attend after and in said “So you're just pregaming then?” His reply: “...Yeah. Pretty much.” Next, we had Arwel Wyn-Jones but that was a bit awkward as no one seemed to know what to really say. He was still lovely despite that. Sue Vertue is an absolutely fantastic woman. The kind you'd like to grab lunch with. She was very engaging and it was a joy to laugh with her. Once again, Moffat was a pleasant surprise. He was very nice to all of us. We accidentally got him on an anti-Trump/anti-Brexit/anti-hatred/pro-kindness tangent. It's clear he's a very passionate man and he earned so much of my respect that night. Also, he refers to Trump as “that orange toad across the pond”. Finally, we finished the drinks reception with my darling Andrew. He lit up when we gave him the keychain and he loved it. Someone asked if he was going to the same party as Alistair. He didn't even know Alistair was going to a party and jokingly mumbled “fuck him”. He made a lot of eye contact with me and I think I earned brownie points by mentioning John Butler (director and Andrew’s friend) and some of Andrew’s other work. He got bashful when I told him his performances in those other things were wonderful. We talked a little bit about music and karaoke and it turns out that he loves Katy Perry and P!nk. We also chatted about Hamlet. I mentioned it is my favourite Shakespearean work and he immediately said “Did you see Benedict’s?!” He mentioned that the fans’ request was heard and they're filming his run as Hamlet. He apologized for his photo session being “impersonal” and “on factory settings”. He was certain that he must look terrible in every single photo. I assured him that he didn't and showed him how ours came out and he loved it. When it was over, he blew the whole table a kiss. I said, “Thank you so much. We love you.” His reply: “I love you guys too”. It was such an honor and pleasure to laugh with him. Overall, I was glad conversation flowed so easily with each guest. Despite only having about six minutes with each guest, it felt like really connecting and was well worth the money. Andrew abandoned his glass water. Someone pointed it out to me and I drank it. We all laughed about it. Except one girl called it disgusting. I don't see why. It was perfectly good water. Andrew is not a dirty person. The other nine of us laughed about it. It was harmless. I've known someone to do worse. Something far more disgusting and creepy. As a side note: I'm completely in love with his full body laugh and his eye crinkles. After, I ran into Moffat while waiting for the elevators. I accidentally called him “Moffat” to his face. I told him how much respect I gained for him during the drinks reception and he thanked me. I told him I wouldn't fall victim to the lies and bullshit about him spread on the internet anymore. He also called the elevators “lifts” then apologized and corrected himself. I said “No no no. I'm American but I watch plenty of British TV to know what Lifts are. Doctor Who, Sherlock, League of Gentlemen, Little Britain…” Turns out he also likes Little Britain. Sunday: Again, relatively uneventful. I spent a lot of time talking to fellow fans. I did get Sue Vertue’s autograph; she was just as sweet as she was the night before. When it was time to get my photo with Mark Gatiss, I was bouncing with excitement. I've been a fan of his since I started watching Doctor Who in 2011. He's a phenomenal writer and a big part of the reason I fell back in love with writing. Again, I spent a large part of my day talking to fellow fans. When it came time for my photo on set with Andrew, I was still nervous but a little more comfortable because of the drinks reception the night before. He called me “lovely” which he seems to do to a lot of his female fans (particularly the plus-sized ones) but I don't care because that doesn't make it any less genuine. He saw me carrying Furiarty (puppy I made at Build-A-Bear Workshop that I modeled after Moriarty) and he went “Who’s this?” as he gently took him from me and stroked his head. I explained and he looked at me with total awe. I sat beside him in John's chair (he was perched on the arm) and Andrew fiddled with Furiarty’s suit. I asked if the three of us could cuddle and we did. Everywhere we could be touching, we were. It was magical. Afterward, I immediately went across the hall to get my photo with Jonathan Aris. I stepped up, chatted with him a bit, and put my arms around him. Unfortunately, the photographer was not ready yet so we ended up awkwardly cuddling in a standing position for a moment before the photographer told us that it would be a moment before he was ready. We pulled away and chatted a bit more. He's a sweet guy. There was a brief, minor issue with the printer so I had to wait a little bit longer for my photo to print. But unlike Creation Entertainment they didn't try to rush me out of the photo op room. It's also nice that the photos print out immediately and you don't have to go digging for them later. Finally, it was time to get my autograph from Andrew. Unfortunately, his line was so long that we didn't have much time for a proper chat. I did, however, present him with his large container of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, the Moriarty coloring page that I completed for him from my Sherlock coloring book, and the card with the letter in it that I wrote. He was completely surprised by the large container of chocolates, and he absolutely loved the coloring page. He signed the DVD cover of my copy of Dead Bodies, which has to be one of my top 3 favourite projects of his (so far). I gave him the blank piece of paper I brought and briefly explained to him why I wanted the tattoo and what I wanted him to do. All I said was “Could you please write something brief and positive and sign it that I could get tattooed later?” it was his choice to draw the waves with a heart. He called them “air waves”, but he was so rushed I think he meant positive waves. regardless, I thanked him profusely and walked away only to grossly sob over how much it meant to me. The final event was The Great Sherlocked Game Show. An absolutely genius idea, I think it showed how much fun the guests and the fans were having with each other. There is a lot to be said when the entire room of people is laughing together. You could really tell that the guests were having a great time. The final afterparty was Moriarty’s Pool Party. I unfortunately forgot my bathing suit at our hotel (separate from the convention hotel and cheaper) so I couldn't get in the hot tub. It was too cold to get in the pool. Samantha and I enjoyed free wine and then went into a friend’s hotel room until we were joined by the rest of the girls. Overall… absolutely the best weekend of my life and I'd love to do it all again.

How to Become Football Agent
A soccer representative is an agent whose sole responsibility is to represent sports personalities, athletes, athletes and sponsors. He negotiates and procures acceptance and employment contracts for the individual or trainer whom he symbolizes.
The term'football agent' is actually a misnomer, because in reality there aren't any sports agencies in america. But, agents of sports stars and high players are officially recognized in britain, Canada and other regions of the Earth, throughout the UK's National Sports https://54.151.186.183/. This law stipulates that any sports personality can participate himself in to the tradition of sports agents, as long as he owns the necessary credentials. If you wish to be football agent, you must first use a Sports Agent License from the National Sports Agency.
Nevertheless, the permit doesn't come cheap and you want to pay for up to three million pounds (USD) as registration fees in addition to annual fees. This fee doesn't affect authorized agents of players, because they do not have to submit to these compulsory procedures, but simply represent people and teams. What's more, it is not compulsory to get the permit to practice law, so that you may still be considered a sports representative without having to own the permit, as long as you've got the relevant experience and techniques.
To begin with your job as a football agent, you must first have the necessary training, which involves at least five decades of professional football player experience. The main element of being a football agent is to be in a position to establish and select candidates that may help you build an income. If you would like to become a football agent, you need to have a strong background in sports and have the ability to spot and manage talented athletes and coaches who are in need of contracts agen bola terpercaya. You may start this task by browsing through newspapers, magazines or sport sites to prospective athletes and coaches with the talent and the right skill.
By using the information that you gain from studying through different resources, you are able to successfully sign the best soccer players, coaches and sponsors. Your job as a football representative will demand identifying athletes or athletes who have been in good physical condition, have high intelligence and that will also be very popular amongst their peers. Once you have identified them, then you should then contact them and discuss and negotiate a contract and a signing bonus for you. Based on the kind of coach or player which you have identified.

Billionaire Chris Dawson switches his The Range store fortune to wife
Entrepreneur Chris Dawson has made no secret of his admiration for Sir Philip Green.
And now the founder of The Range seems to have taken a leaf out of the Topshop tycoon’s book.
For Mr Dawson is said to have saved millions of pounds in tax by reportedly handing over ownership of his main business to his wife Sarah – who lives in Jersey.
Mr Dawson founded The Range in 1989. He now has around 160 stores in Britain and Ireland, with customers including the Duchess of Cambridge.
Chris Dawson, 67, has given ownership of the company behind discount store The Range to his wife, 56
The businessman is believed to have transferred shares in the firm’s parent company to Mrs Dawson after she moved to the Channel Islands tax haven in 2016.
This meant she did not have to pay the Treasury anything when Norton Group Holdings, which owns The Range, paid out a £39.5million dividend last year, according to The Times. It reported that this denied the UK as much as £15million in tax.
Mr Dawson has previously told how he ‘likes to read what businessmen I admire are up to, like Sir Philip Green’.
Sir Philip himself does not own any shares in his Arcadia retail empire, which owns Burton and Dorothy Perkins, as well as Topshop; his wife Tina owns them instead. The Greens set up new companies after they moved to Monaco – another tax haven.
The businessman had previously been known to visit up to 10 of his stores a day via private helicopter (pictured)
Mr Dawson, 67, a former market trader, likens himself to Only Fools and Horses character Del Boy and even drives a Rolls-Royce with the registration DE11 BOY.
He describes his company as ‘a poor man’s John Lewis’ – but that hasn’t stopped it attracting well-heeled customers.
The Duchess of Cambridge was seen doing last-minute Christmas shopping at the Kings Lynn branch near her and Prince William’s home in Norfolk in December.
Mr Dawson and his wife, 56, are worth almost £2billion, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.
As a boy, Dawson struggled academically and was so severely dyslexic that he left school without a single qualification, unable to read and write. He is now one of the most successful businessmen in the country
The man at the top of the list – Jim Ratcliffe, founder of chemicals giant Ineos – drew widespread criticism when he announced his move to Monaco this year to save money in tax. He had been knighted less than a year earlier. Company filings for Norton Group Holdings show the Dawsons lived in England until May 2016, when Mrs Dawson moved to Jersey, The Times said.
At that time Mrs Dawson owned 40 per cent of the company and Mr Dawson owned 60 per cent. The Times said his shares were transferred to her in March 2017.
He follows the same idea that Philip Green had to given his wife Tina ownership of Arcadia to keep millions form the taxpayer
Wealthy mainland UK taxpayers who own shares pay a 38.1 per cent tax on any dividend – but because the shares are now owned on the Channel Islands this does not apply to any dividends.
This means the UK Treasury will have been deprived of £15million worth of tax from dividends of £39.5million that were paid in January 2018.
A spokesman for the Dawsons told The Times: ‘Their decisions and actions were not at all inspired by Sir Philip and Lady Green.’ They added: ‘Mr Dawson remains in the UK for tax purposes and all UK taxes are complied with.
‘Mr and Mrs Dawson and their companies comply with HMRC legislation. Mrs Dawson’s move to Jersey has no impact on the group’s tax status.’
The Range did not respond to requests for comment.
‘I still am a market trader, it’s just got more noughts on it’: Meet the real life Del Boy worth £1.75 billion who couldn’t read until he was 27
Like all good businessmen, Chris Dawson comes equipped with his own roll-off-the-tongue catchphrase.
The 64-year-old billionaire, who made his fortune through bargain homeware chain The Range, believes there are three ways to get rich. ‘To have a lot of money, you’ve got to either win it, steal it or inherit it,’ he claims.
And if that oft-used phrase sounds like something more likely to come from the Del Boy school of business spiel, that’s because he probably wants it to.
Chris Dawson, billionaire owner of The Range stores in front of two of his homes near to his hometown LYMOUTH
The self-made tycoon – now worth £1.75billion – identifies so strongly with the character that he has a DE11 BOY number plate on his £350,000 Rolls-Royce Wraith coupe.
Chris Dawson, who has made his billions through the bargain homeware chain The Range, models himself on the Only Fools and Horses character Del Boy – and has the number plate to prove it
He is now at the helm of nearly 110 chains nationwide and visits ten per day in his personalised helicopter
He also jokes that he taught Derek Trotter ‘all his best lines’, while there is even rumoured to be a photo of the cast of the long-running comedy in the reception of his HQ.
Speaking about the programme, he says: ‘I actually had that life. You think, b***** me, I’ve said that, done that.’
He also insists he has the same businessman swagger and eye for a deal that made the Only Fools and Horses character so loveable.
‘I still am a market trader. It’s just got more noughts on it,’ he said. ‘Even now, I’ll stop the Roller and pick up a battery from the side of the road. I still love it.’
Like Del Boy, Dawson makes no secret of his unabashed desire to be filthy rich (‘As each person comes in, I think, kerching, kerching, kerching!’). But, having now taken the 58th spot on the 2016 Sunday Times Rich List, Dawson has proved there is more substance to his patter than that of his television counterpart.
His incredible story epitomises the rags to riches tale that seems to dominate the world of British business.
Dawson epitomises the rags to riches tale that seems to dominate the world of British business. He started life on the market stall in Plymouth (pictured) and used to sell upcycled furniture and scrap metal to punters
Despite his new-found wealth, Dawson has not shunned his roots, admitting that he regularly chooses to fly with budget airline Flybe
As a boy, Dawson struggled academically and was so severely dyslexic that he left school without a single qualification, unable to read and write. He is now one of the most successful businessmen in the country
His humble beginnings saw him and his two brothers raised on a council estate in Hooe, Plymouth, with their labourer father Thomas and his cleaner mother, Elsie.
Prospects were bleak – his younger brother still lives in the same house – and money was so sparse that he did not own his first pair of pants until he was 12.
Now, his billionaire lifestyle includes a sprawling 30-acre riverfront estate near Plymouth, which has his own motocross track converted from a golf course.
Despite his new-found wealth, Dawson has not shunned his roots, admitting that he regularly chooses to fly with budget airline Flybe
His numerous garages are home to a Ferrari, a Range Rover and a Porsche and, when he visits London, he stays in the penthouse at the Corinthia hotel, splashing out £14,000 for the two-floor room, complete with a private butler.
Despite his new-found wealth, Dawson appears reluctant to shun his roots, regularly choosing to fly with budget airline Flybe.
While many in his position might use a good business deal as an excuse to splurge on a luxury car or holiday, Dawson – who barely manages to take two weeks off per year -rewards himself with a greasy fry-up, complete with all the trimmings.
The father-of-two is also insistent that people should not credit his success to a desire to escape his destitute lifestyle.
‘People want to say, “Ah, he was poor, his father knocked him from here to there’ — he did a bit, as it happens,’ he told The Sunday Times.
‘But what if we were good at what we done? It’s called ability, I believe.’
Despite wanting to talk about his talent, Dawson admits that those who know him from school would be shocked to see him now.
As a boy, he struggled academically and was so severely dyslexic that he left school without a single qualification, unable to read and write.
‘Dyslexic is a polite way of putting it, I just didn’t have a bloody clue,’ he told the Telegraph.
It wasn’t until he was 27 that Dawson learned how to read. However, even at the age of 64, he still cannot write.
He struggles to understand the Sat Nav on his fleet of luxury cars and admits sometimes pretending to forget his glasses when checking into a hotel so he doesn’t have to fill out his form.
But, it is clear that Dawson’s business brain was switched on from a young age.
The budding entrepreneur started selling ice-creams at the age of seven, before taking on three paper rounds – two of which he subcontracted to friends.
He also earned money by doing early-morning wake-up calls for military officers in his garrison home town of Plymouth and began selling teas to builders on construction sites at the age of 14.
Last year, he told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on their Channel 5 show How The Other Half Lives that he doesn’t intend to sell the company or stop expanding
They filmed the interview at the Corinthia hotel, where he stays when he visits London. He pays for a £14,000 for a two-floor room (pictured) complete with a private butler
He later embarked on a career as a scrap metal dealer, ‘borrowing’ leftover scraps from his school technology class. When he was caught, a teacher apparently told him: ‘You’ll end up in prison or very rich.’
Dawson then began branching out in all sorts of trades. He was once asked to join the showbiz circuit as a warm-up act for Little and Large but, when he was told he would earn £500, he replied: ‘I can earn that in an hour.’
He then continued to feed his money-making drive by selling watches from a briefcase on a market stall, later selling everything he could get his hands on from the back of a lorry.
It was with those wheeler-dealing profits that he was able to open his first The Range superstore at Sugar Mill business park in Plymouth in 1989.
It wasn’t long before he had turned the company into a booming chain of retail park shops, which is dubbed as working man’s John Lewis and sells everything from lawn-mowers to scented candles.
There are now more than 100 chains across the UK, complete with a workforce of more than 9.000. Dawson also plans to open a store in Limerick and is mooting an expansion to Germany.
Dawson jokes that he taught Derek Trotter (pictured in Only Fools and Horses) ‘all his best lines’, while there is even rumoured to be a photo of the cast of the long-running comedy in the reception of his HQ
Despite the overwhelming expansion of his business, Dawson insists that he is involved in as many of the chains as possible. Using his private helicopter, he visits up to ten stores per day, ensuring he sees each individual shop six times per year.
Mr Dawson founded The Range in 1989. He now has around 160 stores in Britain and Ireland, with customers including the Duchess of Cambridge
He is a self-confessed workaholic, sleeping only six hours per day and admitting he does nothing to relax, except work. He reportedly does not have a work email and instead communicates with employees in a regular early-morning conference calls, ensuring he is physically and metaphorically everywhere in the business at all times.
‘I’m like Anneka bloody Rice,’ he says.
It was through his wheeling and dealing that he met his wife of 35 years, Sarah, when he sold her a knock-off watch and then chased her for top-up payments.
She works as a buyer for the company, alongside their daughter Lisa, who is in her 30s. Their son Christopher – also in his 30s – works on store refits.
Last year, he told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on their Channel 5 show How The Other Half Lives that he doesn’t intend to sell the company or stop expanding.
Asked if he would prefer to be relaxing on a beach or yacht somewhere exotic, he replied: ‘No to all of those. I don’t know how to relax is unless I have had a gin. I will have a go at being a trillionaire.’

The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show is the UK’s second largest motorhome and caravanning event. It is also an excellent opportunity for the public to see all of the new 2017 caravan, motorhome, holiday home, folding camper and trailer tent models from the leading UK and European manufacturers.
The show was first launched as a National Caravan Council (NCC) event, in 2011, and is supported by industry members, as well as the Caravan Club and The Camping & Caravanning Club.
Along with its sister show; The Motorhome & Caravan Show, it accounts for some 20% of total UK sales of caravans and motorhomes each year. With over 350 exhibitors, across 11 halls, it offers the widest possible choice, all under the one roof.
The show was opened, at 10am, by broadcaster, author and TV presenter, Ben Fogle, who also did a talk, in the Discovery centre, on his various adventures. There are a number of other celebrities attending the show, through its duration. Full details of these are available on the Show’s Web Site.
The Numbers
The caravan and motorhome industry is responsible for generating £6bn each year, for the national economy. In Britain, there are currently:
550,000 touring caravans
350,000 ‘static’ caravan holiday homes
205,000 motorhomes
Each year there are:
20,000 new touring caravans registered
7,400 new motorhomes registered
15,000 caravan holiday homes registered
Based on average values, that equates to:
£325 million, per annum – new tourer market in the UK
£464 million per annum – new motorhome market in the UK
£600 million per annum – new caravan holiday home market in the UK
The caravan industry employs more than 100,000 people in the UK, including seasonal staff. 95% of caravans and 75% of motorhomes seen on UK roads are actually manufactured in the UK.
Whilst on holiday, caravanners, generally, spend £2 billion in the UK alone, thereby helping to support local businesses and attractions.
Double Digit Increase In New Caravan & Motorhome Sales During 2014
Dealers reported strong 2016 activity
Younger buyers with families are now entering the market
Positive industry news before the current show
More than 80,000 visitors expected to this show between 21 -26 Feb
Figures released by industry trade body the National Caravan Council (NCC) reveal that sales of new touring caravans and motor home registrations increased significantly, again, in 2016, indicating that more buyers are entering the leisure vehicle market.
New motorhome registrations increased by 16.6%, year on year
Sales of new touring caravans increased by 11.1%  year on year
Sales of caravan holiday homes, also, increased, by 8.8%
Across the board, sales of all new units increased by 11.4% in 2016
According to NCC data, in total, 54,680 new touring caravans and motorhomes were sold in 2016, compared to 49,092, in 2015. Anecdotal evidence suggests that buyers are increasingly younger families, and the NCC is working with the Caravan Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club on a new industry promotional campaign, freedomtogo.co.uk to attract new entrants to the market.
Camping remains a British manufacturing success story. More than 95% of touring caravans in the UK are made here, and approximately 60% in the case of motorhomes. Over £2.4 billion was spent on caravan holidays across Great Britain, with more than 51 million nights spent in caravans each year. The industry as a whole contributes more than £6 billion a year to the UK economy.
The Show
Of course, there are bound to be a lot of similarities to the, larger, October show, however, the Spring show takes part in a different area of the NEC, filling only the 5 larger halls, as opposed to 11 smaller ones in Autumn.
This means, in many ways, that the show is even more organised than in October, insofar as each particular aspect of the industry was grouped together in one or more halls, even more so than its larger sister show.
Obviously, there is bound to be a degree of overlap, but the main halls can be summarised as follows:
Hall 1
Caravans
Awnings
Accessories
Hall 2
Caravans
‘Other’
Hall 3
Motorhomes
‘Other’
Hall 4
Motorhomes
Holiday Homes & Lodges
Campsites & Destinations
Hall 5
Tents & Camping
Trailer Tents & Folding Campers
Generally speaking, you tend to find that the main exhibitors are in the centre of each hall, with a large number of smaller stands dotted around the outside, selling all manner of items and services, both camping and non camping related. You can, also, view / download a Full Show Floorplan.
In addition to all of the ‘standard’ exhibitors, there is the usual array of attractions and events, including;
Discovery Theatre.  Featuring an array of live shows and talks, running from 11am to 5.15pm, daily. The talks will cover many aspects of caravanning, camping and motorhomes, and are designed to be both informative and entertaining.
Celebrity Guests & Experts. The Experts’ Theatre offers an array of live shows covering many aspects of the Motorhome and Caravan industry. There will be a packed timetable of events including live cookery shows, product launches and Q & A sessions with leading experts in the field. Checkout the timetable using the link above.
Live Cookery. The clue is, very much, in the name! Click on the link to check out the various chefs and timetables.
Dog Agility. Back by popular demand, apparently, and, this year, for weekend attendees, with the added attraction of Ashley and Pudsey of Britain’s Got Talent fame. A new feature, this year, is the introduction of the ‘Canine Travel Clinic’, a drop in area where you can discuss any concerns you may have about travelling with a dog, and taking them on holiday, generally. You’ll have to be quick, though, as the service is only available from 10.45 – 11.15, daily.
Towing Experience. Free one to one sessions are being offered by The Camping and Caravanning Club where you can learn to tow a touring caravan safely. This session will help you whether you’re a newcomer or an old hand. The specially trained tutors are all experts and will show you how to get the most out of your vehicle and your travels. In  addition to the normal towing experience, this show now offers a New To Caravanning option, provided by Freedom to Go, who are offering us the chance to practice our hitching and reversing skills. Again, this is a free service.
Motorhome Manoeuvring. Become a motor caravan manoeuvring master! The Caravan Club is offering free expert tuition at the show. These sessions will improve your skills and help build confidence. You’ll be driving a motorhome alongside a fully qualified Caravan Club instructor.
On-Site Campsite. As usual, the show are providing a 200 pitch camp site, including electric hook up. These aren’t cheap, at £36 a night, but evening entertainment is available, for those making use of the site.
Various other attractions, including Bushcraft Workshop, Bounce Zone, for kids, Visit Wales Area, Creche and Woodland Trust Assault Course.
You can, also, take a look at the Online Show Brochure, or the more concise Show Preview.
As previously, ticket prices are £8 in advance, and £10 on the door (£7 and £9, respectively for senior citizens). Children of 15 and under go free. This means that the basic cost of a day out for a family of four can be as little as £16 for two adults and two children, including parking, show guide etc. Obviously, the price ramps up pretty quickly if you start to venture anywhere near the huge selection of on site eateries dotted around the various halls.
Queues did seem to be quite a bit longer, both in terms of number of people and time spent waiting than in October, but I think this is due to the different positioning of the show within the NEC. The whole Spring show seems to be much more compact, and there appeared to be only a couple of sets of ticket kiosks this time, albeit it with quite a few in each one. As usual, though, everything seemed to be moving very smoothly, and the shuttle buses were as efficient as ever.
The main show is exactly as you would expect it to be; a vast array of caravans, motor homes, tents, accessories, holiday destinations and accommodation, and anything even remotely to do with camping (plus a few things that appear to have absolutely nothing, whatsoever to do with it)!
Those who are looking to buy a new caravan, can, comfortably, spend a couple of days here, and still not see everything, if they spend time looking at all available options in some detail. Those who are interested in tent camping will find that a day is more than enough to cover everything they need to. Those who are just going for a browse should find it is a worthwhile day out, with plenty to see and do, and more than enough things to tempt you to part with your hard earned cash!
The Folding Camper Bit
Of course, Blue Sky continues to specialise in folding campers, and, to a lesser extent, trailer tents, so, as previously, it’s only fair we cover that, particular, area in a little more detail.
As usual, all folding camper / trailer tent exhibitors are grouped together, in Hall 5, which did keep things nice and convenient, as well as saving on the shoe leather. Once again, there was an improved showing over the October event, with a couple of notable additions being the Cabanon and HoltKamper ranges.
Hall 5 Contains All Tents, Including All Trailer Tent & Folding Camper Models
In simple terms, Hall 5 is divided in two by the Visit North Wales Adventure feature, with tents to one side, and folding campers / trailer tents to the other.
North Wales Adventure Area, With Rock Climbing & Caving Experience
There are, actually, seven stands, dedicated to trailer tents and folding campers, as follows:
Holtkamper
Trigano
Raclet
Pennine
Camperlands (mostly Camp-let)
Cabanon and
Opus
Each of these stands are covered, in a little more detail, below.
Holtkamper
The HoltKamper Stand, Presented By BCC
Presented by Black Country Caravans, there were two HoltKamper models on display; the Cocoon, and the Kyte.
These innovative and stylish campers really look the part, with a huge kitchen unit, cleverly incorporated into the main tent canvas, and large comfortable beds.
The Stylish HoltKamper Kitchen
Beds Are Comfortable, If A Little High
On the downside, these beds do tend to be quite high, at just over 3ft off the ground, and there is only one double bed, with additional berths being in an annex tent, off the main living area.
One thing that is particularly cool about this marque is the way certain models inflate totally automatically, using their patented Windforce system
Trigano
The Centre Pod In The Olympe Now Features A Basic Seating Arrangement
A New Colour Scheme For The Galleon Represents The Only Change.
The Trigano stand is next to the Holtkamper one, and is, also, presented by BCC. All four current models are, again, represented; the Alpha, the Galleon, the Odyssee and the Olympe. These models have not changed significantly since the review we first did in 2014.
Raclet
Raclet Quickstop
Raclet Safari
Raclet Solena
The Raclet Movea
The Raclet stand, once again, included current trailer tent models, such as the Moovea, Safari, and the Solena, as well as their only current folding camper model; the Raclet Quickstop.
Pennine
Once again, Pennine had all four current models on display, including three (the Conway Countryman, Pennine Fiesta and Pennine Pathfinder) which were set up, ready to be viewed, plus a Conway Crusader, used to demonstrate the setting up / folding away procedure.
Conway Crusader For Setup Demonstrations
Pennine Pathfinder Seating
Pennine Pathfinder Kitchen / Toilet Compartment
Pennine Fiesta Bed / Settee
Pennine Fiesta / Countryman Fixed Settee With Bed Behind
Camperlands
Camperlands Stand, Featuring The Campmaster Air and Camp-Let Range.
As previously, Camperlands are displaying both the Camp-Let range, and their own Campmaster Air. The latter is an innovative trailer tent design, that can be towed by a motorcycle or small car. It is based around a modified Vango Eden 400 air beam tent. This year, it was on display with extension awning, making it a very sizeable unit, for such a tiny trailer.
The Campmaster Air, With Extension
Inside The Campmaster Air
Cabanon
The Last Of The BCC Offerings, The Cabanon Stand
The Cabanon stand is the third of the BCC offerings, and includes the usual array of current Cabanon models, including the Jaguar, Manga and Mercury, but with the addition of brand new model, the Orion, an interesting, and reasonably high spec two berth model, being, effectively, an updated version of the Cabanon Venus.
The New Cabanon Orion
Inside The Orion
Double Bed, Bench Seating & Drawers
Opus
This year, Opus have two models on display (plus one folded). They have the standard Opus Camper, as well as the recently introduced Air Opus. For a more detailed summary of these, take a look at our recent Opus Camper Model Review.
Show Videos
With the exception of the Cabanon Orion, all models were exactly as they were last year. These are already uploaded to our You Tube Channel, if you want to check out those that are on display.
The ‘And Now For Something Completely Different’ Award
This year the NFSCD award goes to the Barefoot mini caravan. This is a miniature two berth caravan, that will, no doubt, appeal to the Go Pod fans.
The Barefoot And Barefoot Naked
Where the Barefoot really differs from the pack is that it is available as the ‘Barefoot Naked’, a finished, but empty, shell, ready for you to place your own furniture, in situe.
The Blank Canvas Of The Barefoot Naked’s Interior
Free Standing Settee In The Demo Model
The display model, actually, had a small domestic settee, table and chair in it. How they expect you to travel with something like that, I’m not quite sure, but, with a price tag of almost 15 grand for an empty shell, I don’t expect too many people will be keen to find out.
The Interior Of The Barefoot
The Barefoot Kitchen And Shower / Toilet Compartment
U Shaped Seating Area
The fully fitted Barefoot is a very nicely appointed model, with toilet and shower (unlike most competitors, including the Go Pod) but, again, the price tag of almost £24K is likely to be an issue for many.
Summary
As ever, the show has much to keep all family members entertained. Those looking for a new caravan, or motor home could spend days wandering around the various halls, viewing all of the available options. Tent enthusiasts are not quite so well catered for, and folding camper/ trailer tenters even less so, but, even so, there is, still, plenty to see and do, and it would be quite possible to spend a whole day just looking at the accessories and other stalls, and partaking of the various activities on offer.
You very often hear complaints as to the costs of the food on offer, however, when you bear in mind that the whole day costs, at most, £10 per person, with entrance, car parking program and loads of free activities, it’s not a bad deal, overall, and you can always take a packed lunch, if you feel the need.
Much of Hall 4 is also comprised of the ‘Campsites & Destinations’ section of the show, which includes an excellent selection of camp sites, travel companies etc, many of them outside of the UK, for those of you considering venturing a little further afield, or just looking for somewhere different within the UK.
Everything else camping is catered for as well, including clothing, cooking equipment, cleaning products, satellite TV, furniture, tow cars, solar panels, the list is endless. If you’re still undecided, I strongly recommend you give it a go. It’s excellent value, and a real full days entertainment, if you have any interest in camping or caravanning whatsoever.
Taking A Look At The Caravan Camping & Motorhome Show 2017 The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show is the UK’s second largest motorhome and caravanning event. It is also an excellent opportunity for the public to see all of the new 2017 caravan, motorhome, holiday home, folding camper and trailer tent models from the leading UK and European manufacturers.

M E T and K for the OC ask >.>
Oooh, that’s a lot! x.x Okay! For M, I’m going to cheat a bit and use a surname, since a lot of the “M” first name characters I added onto in LOLS are expansions of canon characters (i.e. Millicent Bulstrode) -- the others I’ll use first names! :)
Tumblr media
Full Name: Lydia Julien Montmercy
Nicknames, If Any: Caeneus Jove (pen-name)
Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Gender: Transgender Male
Sexuality: Gay
A Song I Associate With Them: Ascendance by Lindsey Stirling
3 Important Relationships
Eddie Carmichael ~ One of Julien’s best friends. They first met at school, and even though they were in different houses (Ravenclaw and Slytherin, respectively), Eddie and Julien bonded over their shared aspiration to join the Auror Department. Once they were both accepted into the ranks of that Department, they grew even closer, to the point that when Eddie was looking for people to help him with circulating a rebel newspaper during the Second Wizarding War, he knew he could depend on Julien, even if Julien’s father was one of the most high-ranking Death Eaters at the Ministry.
Antoinette Montmercy ~ Antoinette raised her child Julien almost entirely on her own, and so the two are incredibly close. There is nothing Antoinette wouldn’t do if it meant protecting her child -- even obeying the will of her cold-hearted Death Eater husband.
Etienne Montmercy ~ Julien’s father was in Azkaban most of Julien’s life for being a Voldemort supporter, and when he was released, it signaled a hellish new chapter in Julien’s life. Not only would Etienne never accept Julien’s gender identity, which forced Julien to stay in the closet longer than he’d intended for his own self-preservation, but Julien did not share Etienne’s blood purist beliefs in the slightest. To top it all off, Etienne forced Julien into an arranged marriage with the blood purist tabloid writer Uric Cuffe without even consulting Julien or caring if he objected. Etienne and Julien may look very alike, but they couldn’t be more diametrically opposed as people.
2 Fears
Losing his free will
His friends dying
1 Element of their backstory
Julien’s dead name is “Lydia,” which was a name Etienne had picked. “Julien” is derived from a line in an old poem that Antoinette used to read for her son about July gillyflowers.
Tumblr media
Full Name: Erik Landon Apollo
Nicknames, If Any: Rick (by Eos Amari), Jarvey (by Orion), Apollo (by most of his students), Sour Patch (by Wendy Copper @drinkyoursoupbitch)
Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Gender: Cisgender Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
A Song I Associate With Them: “Remember the Name,” by Fort Minor
3 Important Relationships
Carewyn Cromwell ~ Erik’s legal guardian, after he lost his parents and was hauled before the Muggle-Born Registration Commission during the Second Wizarding War. Although Erik never calls Carewyn his mother due to the trauma of losing his actual mother Sadie, Erik admires and cherishes Carewyn like nobody else in the world. Although Erik by and large isn’t the sort to lose his temper, he’s never been able to let any insult toward Carewyn slide.
Roxanni “Roxi” Kim @mira-shard ~ Erik’s one true love and (in his mind) better half. Erik was immediately impressed by Roxi’s kindness, humor, and honesty, but was soon enough enthralled by her astounding emotional intelligence, to the extent that she could read people like a book and perfectly pinpoint the best way to help them solve their problems. Given that Erik himself has never been as attuned to his emotions and thinks with his head so much more than his heart, Roxi’s deep understanding of both herself and others is a marvel to Erik. And if you’ve so thoroughly awed Erik Apollo, especially while being drop-dead gorgeous like Roxi is, you’ve got yourself a rather awkward turtle for a suitor. :3
Alistair Schaefer @cursebreakerfarrier ~ Erik’s superior in name only and the mediating Obi-Wan to Erik’s reckless Anakin. Even if Erik is technically Alistair’s assistant, the two rarely see each other as anything other than equals, not just because of their equal levels of talent in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Wizard Dueling, but because of their immense respect for each other. Erik might swear and play favorites with their students way too much for Alistair’s liking, but their friendship is still resilient enough that it wouldn’t be unlikely that Erik could end up asking for Alistair’s help with an Auror assignment in the future, after leaving Hogwarts.
2 Fears
Dementors
Being helpless
1 Element of their backstory
Erik’s love for Star Wars comes from his father Phillip -- it was one of the main things they shared together before Phillip’s abrupt death. Erik’s middle name “Landon” is even a reference to one of Phillip and Sadie Apollo’s favorite Star Wars characters, Lando Calrissian.
Tumblr media
Full Name: Tokala Kyon Mulligan
Nicknames, If Any: N/A
Hogwarts House: N/A (American: homeschooled)
Gender: Cisgender Male
Sexuality: Pansexual
A Song I Associate With Them: Dance Magic Dance by David Bowie
3 Important Relationships
Travis Fitzgerald ~ The Vice President of the MACUSA saw a lot of potential in Tokala from the get-go. Despite Tokala only being in his late 20′s, Fitzgerald (the real power behind the rather superficial and pompous President Aaron Crowe) was able to pull enough strings to move Tokala all the way up the ranks to become the Head of Major Investigations. Like Fitzgerald, Tokala is incredibly ambitious and determined to protect his country and all of the people in it, magical or otherwise, and so it’s unsurprising that both men are very glad to have such an valuable ally in their fight against the blood purity movement taking root in America.
Cho Chang ~ When the Chang family emigrated to the U.S. to escape Voldemort during the Second Wizarding War, there’s no way Cho would’ve expected to get wrapped up in the MACUSA’s Major Investigations Department. But when Cho and some of her Muggle friends were targeted by some American blood purists walking in the footsteps of the Death Eaters in Britain, Cho collided with Tokala, and soon they became unlikely allies and, later on, partners in espionage.
Mia Romero ~ Like Cho, Mia is a MACUSA employee who was secretly recruited as an agent for the Major Investigations Department for her strong dueling skills and expertise in human psychology. Mia would go on to become President of the MACUSA in the late 2010s, with her old cohort Tokala remaining as Head of Major Investigations -- it’s likely only thanks to friends like Tokala that Mia is able to deal with the chaotic whims of her Muggle counterpart, the so-called “Other President,” without going insane.
2 Fears
Losing his Metamorphagus abilities
A fascist government
1 Element of their backstory
Tokala, being half-Cherokee, was taught at home by the magical members of his family, rather than attending an American magic school like Ilvermorny. (Because seriously, there is no way in HELL either Tokala’s family or I as his writer would send him away to a British-style American boarding school. *glares at JK*)
Tumblr media
Full Name: Kevin Elijah Whitby
Nicknames, If Any: N/A
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
Gender: Cisgender Male
Sexuality: Gay
A Song I Associate With Them: Merry-Go-Round of Life from Howl’s Moving Castle
3 Important Relationships
Astoria Greengrass ~ Despite being in the same year, Astoria and Kevin didn’t really spend much time together until they both ended up as contestants in Potions Professor Gordon Ramsay’s MagicChef contest (yes, really, that’s a thing, in Kevin’s fic). During the contest, the two really connected thanks to their similar personalities and shared interest in cooking, and they became even closer friends through the Cooking Club Kevin helped found. By the time they’re adults, they would both consider each other their best friend.
Colin Creevey ~ Like with Astoria, Kevin hadn’t interacted at all with Colin until the MagicChef contest and the founding of a Hogwarts Cooking Club right afterwards. After a traumatizing escape from an extremist group during the Second Wizarding War, Kevin ended up in a playground close to where the Creevey family was in hiding, and Colin and his brother Dennis brought Kevin home with them. It was thanks to the Creeveys that Kevin was able to heal both his physical and emotional wounds from that particular trauma. While living with the Creeveys, Kevin came to see Colin like the older brother he’d never had.
Dennis Creevey ~ Kevin bonded with Dennis while living with the Creevey family and came to see him like the younger brother he’d never had. After the end of the Second Wizarding War, Kevin and Dennis became even closer, with Kevin supporting Dennis not unlike how Colin had supported him.
2 Fears
Losing his family and friends
Being alone and unloved
1 Element of their backstory
Kevin is the son of an female Auror named Hattie Ollerton, who fell in love with a Muggle bobby, Elijah Whitby, during the First Wizarding War. It’s because of his parents that Kevin pursues becoming an Auror as an adult.
OC Asks! or Meet Julien, Tokala, and Kevin in Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce!
