YESYESYES OF COURSE

Reagan is still just as computer smart, but she has trouble with leniency, and no work is getting done because she lets the gang take paid breaks to go do whatever they want, etc. So Brett is brought on to get the team to actually be productive, with his strict and no nonsense mindset.

Reagan's whole crisis with him in the first episode is trying to befriend him to no avail, until the end where they have to work together and she figures out how to actually get on his good side, and he slowly learns that she's not just an annoying, clingy co-leader like he originally thought.

Also Reagan is the one who fills the original Brett's role in The Brettfast Club, trying to keep the gang there and getting the Nostalgia overdose at the end. At the beginning she's in the holo chamber having a nice conversation with a holographic Rand, remembering old times, which Brett later finds out was taken line for line from a scene in The Growing Years.

Would anyone be interested if I hosted a M(ult)A(nimator)P(roject) for my Inside Job AU??? I’ve been thinking and planning it for a few months and I think I might be ready to host it.

The AU is like this: After the events of Appleton, Reagan is beginning to move on after she let Ron go… and Brett is there for her every step of the way of course.

But there is something that Brett is keeping secret from her, and the gang… His little stunt during the Brettfast Club episode hasn’t completely left him… there is still some Nostalgiamax in his system, and it’s starting to make itself known.

It’s often when he’s really emotional or unstable, but thankfully he’s managing to keep it hidden from Reagan and the gang… mostly…

One day, Brett is looking for Reagan at work, but he isn’t finding her anywhere. He eventually finds her, but… something isn’t right…

…the way she looks at him…

..that’s not Reagan…

As soon as he realizes it’s RoboReagan, she pins him. He’s in a panic, and in that moment, his Nostalgiamax rears it’s ugly head and he manages to escape her. By the time she recovers, he’s gone.

Brett rushes to the gang, telling them that something has happened to Reagan, trying to calm himself down.

They decide to check the security cameras, and sure enough, they find the exact moment that Reagan was knocked out and taken by RoboReagan. Watching it happen, watching that ‘thing’ HURT Reagan, oh it makes Brett furious… Before he can have another power breakout, he takes charge and the gang set off to find Reagan.

At an abandoned warehouse, miles from Cognito, Reagan is RReagan’s prisoner, or as they call her, the bait…

It doesn’t take long for the gang to arrive, hidden and preparing to attack. However, RReagan was ready for them, and triggers an explosive, making the ceiling over them fall.

Everything slows down… there’s no getting away from the roof trapping or crushing them all… and then…

…in a flash, the rubble is stopped before it can crush them. They all look up, and it’s Brett keeping it up with his power, fully reawakened like it was the last time they saw it.

Brett confronts RReagan, and they fight, seeming to be evenly matched. However when they clash again, during a struggle, RReagan stabs Brett. He yells, and i’m his anger, tears off RReagan’s head.

She drops to the ground, and Brett stays floating, bleeding from his wound… He’s dazed as the adrenaline rush wears off, his powers fade as he falls to the floor.

If enough people respond to this, I’ll definitely start storyboarding it.

brett angst theory time >:)

we all know brett loves ‘The Growing Years’, right? but how’d he find it? as a kid most of the shows on tv would be from the 90′s! but what if, one of his brothers, either Matt or Jagg, was the little brother on that show!

in ‘The Brettfast Club’ andre says ‘didn’t the younger brother from that show become a drug addict?’ to which brett responds ‘Yes, yes he did, but not until the 90′s’ and from the happy birthday flashback in ‘The Brettfast Club’ we know either Matt or Jagg were in rehab at one point, the beach flashback in that episode also shows that brett is the youngest of the family!

let’s talk about character fashion: andre lee (inside job)

hi everyone! after my previous post about gigi, i wanted to talk about another character from the show whose fashion is also super visually interesting: dr. andre lee! ^_^

i’m gonna be tackling this one slightly differently-- rather than showing pieces that may inspire andre’s closet in terms of real life counterparts, i want to show off several of his outfits and their common themes and what sort of real pieces he would wear irl! so let’s break it down >B)

so let’s start with andre’s outfits! i’ll show them all off one after the other (in what i remember is chronological order LOL) and then i’ll analyze:

main outfit

not technically a different outfit but i just wanted to show his jacket here it’s very cute :) YAY

so, obviously, with all of andre’s outfits, it’s very obvious he has a penchant for bright colors (specifically pinks, purples, greens, and blues). in his main outfit i find it particularly charming that his pants are ill fitting and a little too short? it’d probably be easier not to get blood on them since they won’t touch the floor.

i also like that in his suit for reagan’s fake funeral his tie is still striped like he still wanted to be a little quirky while he was there, and the way he’s really good at coordinating complimentary and near complementary colors (i.e his windbreaker and pants in the brettfast club, and his regular outfit having a purple-pink button up with a green tie).

you can tell he really loved dressing up for the 80s (despite having to deal with the orientalism) with inspired colors and even styles he utilizes in other aspects of his fashion from the era. i think the best example is his gala outfit. like come on look at that!! a ruffled salmon button up with a fuschia cummerbund and bowtie with a lime suit!?!?? that’s basically an 80s movie prom outfit. i love his goofy ass!

so with that, let’s talk about what andre might wear in real life, starting with some more modern casual fits :)

and some more eighties/nineties inspired fits ^_^

i think something important to note is andre’s love for kitsch and quirky pieces of his closet (i think his rave outfit shown in his concept art is the best example of this, shown below), so i think there’s not only importance in showing his love for bright colors but also like. weird jewelry items, vintage obscure prints, and DIY!

tl;dr i just think he’s neat. gender win!

i think theres something whack about maturity when it comes to reagan and brett…

like, when it comes to brett you initially think he’s the more childish out of the two because he’s able to be attached to toys and thinks with his emotions (see: brettfast club)

but then you see him get Shit Done and confront people/hear people out in order to resolve things (sex machina, big flat earth wedding, mole hunt)

meanwhile, in contrast to him comes reagan

she looks and feels like the more mature person because she’s cold, logical and most importantly has issues from being emotionally stunted

in turn she acts like a child, throwing tantrums (the timecards cutaway, buzzkill where she throws two coffee mugs at rand) and exploding or shutting down depending on the situation.

TLDR: brett’s the one who grew up too fast, but reagan’s the one whose self remains in the past.

Brett has BPD, a post by me

hi i actually had to rewatch clips just to confirm my suspicions but this is ultimately a headcanon BAJAHRHEHHEHDH this mostly stemmed from the fact that brett seems to have self-identity issues (guy who LITERALLY said that he doesn’t know if he has a real personality; with the fact he likely spent a life revolving around developing his identity centered around relationships rather than building himself up) and then it expanded to realizing this:

he has intense fears of abandonment (even says that he has abandonment issues in episode 9)

constantly CONSTANTLY yearns for approval and wants people to like/love him (episode 2 where he actually does say this poor thing literally throws up at the thought of not being able to be liked)

self-destructive asf (lets himself get bullied/pushed around if it means that if it makes other people happy, see: blue bloods episode)

dissociative feelings (inability to process the trauma via disconnection, although some part of this does get resolved in the brettfast club episode i just don’t think it’s enough, but also this guy literally just drops his trauma in a casual conversation like it’s NOTHING) (see: the episode where he said something about how his parents told people they weren’t his) (also leads me to believe he used to have outbursts as a child)

inappropriate/intense anger (reagan is the only person ever to make brett snap; although it’s not intentional on her end whenever she manages to read into him his theorized “mask” slips and reveals a lot of anger and frustration in the quick few seconds he breaks. often he resorts to being submissive and a crybaby [the sex machina episode in which he’s polite to glenn specifically, compared to how he treats reagan. again they do make each other happy but they don’t bring out the worst in each other, they bring out their true selves.] but i think it’s because he doesn’t want his anger to hurt the people around him especially since he doesn’t even have that sense of self-respect to be angry for himself.

obvs thats not ALL the symptoms to it but those were the highlighted ones that stood out to me especially for the duration of the show. i hope later on in season 2 we get to explore brett and his other glaring issues cause goddamn that boy needs more than JUST therapy augehwuehhe

OKAY SO,,, I came up with a theory abt Brett's sister. In "The Brettfast Club" episode, we get a little more backstory for Brett and how he was raised along with a glimpse of his family. Now, Brett's two brothers were mentioned the most, so that raises more questions about his sister. Brett's family butler says how his brothers sent him birthday wishes from rehab and the military respectively. But his sister never said anything??? What happened to her???

Well Inside Job Tumblr, my theory is that she is a robe. I don't know how I came up with this theory, but it kinda makes sense right? Maybe the reason why we don't get much info on her is bc she's a robe.
