Redacted: [shortly after The Nerd wins, as Screamer guessed, while Redacted is holding a pin] Screamer, you're already in position, you played a great game...
The Screamer: [In sync with Redacted] Yes, yes, I get it! Just get me out of here! GET ME OUT ALREADY!

alex talked about that recently in this interview! [rubs hands together like a mischievous little shrimp] i hope we see it one day heh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hehehe it was a fun task! we've NEVER seen alex play such a character during a task like that — he's received cuddles and made demands and eaten meals, but this was next level Alex Acting — so that was really fun!
lucy talking incessantly about alex's legs but mans also got his long sparkly toes
Tumblr media
i think people are too quick to call this or that iconic, but ngl the second i saw this final image...it's practically a horror movie poster...PERFECT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
can you imagine greg davies being your drama teacher and then he quits to become a comedian and the next day you see him on tv as Massive Greg hand feeding a man with no teeth who is pretending to be a tortoise
Tumblr media Tumblr media
honestly if that's the one that haunts you i'd say you got off pretty easy, i scrub my eyes with concrete mix every night to try and forget ass sandwich and yet... but hey at least when he hurt his hand he finally had an excuse for that stupid bandage he wears hahaha
Tumblr media
she was being so sincere and he was Such A Little Shit 😭
you know what i was binging some simon stuff as well, since it was his birthday, and ran across this again after all these years!
Tumblr media
aw anon i'm so glad ♡
moooost of my fave episodes are like ~2005–2015ish? probably the nostalgia!
21.01 with jess hynes bc she is an icon to me
21.05 love seeing simon and miquita together
21.07 with martin freeman
22.02 with stephen fucking fry YES
22.04 was crazy like conchords-era rhys darby was there (i LOVED flight of the conchords lmao) and then johnny vegas and danny dyer next to each other? what a lineup
22.12 with josh groban, omid, martin freeman, heston is an ALL-TIME CLASSIC
i LOVE the guest-hosted episodes with martin freeman, rhod gilbert, frankie boyle (especially 24.12 with miles jupp and professor green), jack dee, alex horne, kathy burke, and johnny vegas
23.12 doctor who special HANDS DOWN
24.02 it's hilarious how respectable catherine tate is offset by how ridiculous catherine tate is
25.06 when greg hosted with frankie boyle, h was there just being h, holly walsh angel, it was a riot
john barrowman is also extremely iconic on buzzcocks, probably most so on 19.05 but also when he hosted 25.12
there are tons of older episodes from the lamarr era that i love — bob mortimer is so funny on this series especially on sean's team, 12.05 when jimmy and claudia were with phill, fun to see ian dury on 5.01, and so on — but these above are some of my personal all-time faves!
Tumblr media
aw i really appreciate the rec! first i would like to say i looked it up on youtube and stumbled across the american version and holy shit the dude who hosted brainsurge on nickelodeon is hosting that and WOW my brain would have died never having remembered he existed if i hadn't seen him just now — so that was very weird. ANYWAYS i'll check it out!

imo it didn't start with ben miller...rob is always like this... sometimes when the pod episodes are shorter (less than 10min? does he do that anymore), you can tell some of the bullshit is edited around, but now that they're longer-form conversations he is dominating every episode. i'm certainly no rob hater, but it's really unsurprising to me because facts are facts — rob is self-involved, extremely concerned about being seen and being heard, incredibly pouty if not outrightly bitter when he's not recognised, when fame/success doesn't chase him, when he's getting less from life than he believes he deserves. there are aspects of rob in the trip that aren't far from reality, if you see what i mean. rob is, honestly, quite showbiz. don't get me wrong, he's funny, affable, talented, we love him! but he's not a stellar podcast host because he doesn't have the attention span to let someone else have a moment. have a story. put something on the table. there are definitely times i give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's trying to form a connection by sharing a related experience/feeling/whatever, but other times he's just being self-involved, pivoting the convo, and it is what it is. it's too bad when we don't always get lengthy, insightful content for someone we love — like miles, let's say — and when we finally do rob isn't doing his part; i felt that way about the dara episode. i don't think rob means any malice, it's just how he is...+ a dash of being a middle-aged white man in showbiz...
Tumblr media
i got this one yesterday...
Tumblr media
...and i'm going to dedicate it to you<3
and frankly sign me up for the woz/vcm experience i am happy to be a little tomato in that flapjack sandwich
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you guys are really sweet, it makes me smile ♡ i don't know why some days the trolling can really get to you and other days you forget it in a couple blinks... i feel like i've been having some bad days. last week i saw something on my own dash with thousands of notes outright mocking me and i haven't really recovered from the uncomfortableness/just general hurt feelings. i want be better about letting those things go, but i also think a holiday break will do me good. anyways, thank you for always enjoying the blog and taking the time to be so kind ♡

Stanley Entertainment Group
The Stanley Entertainment Group is an American television production company, and it produces the award-winning show "Shop 'til You Drop" on Lifetime. It has also produced the television show "The Man Show," which is on Comedy Central. In fact, the Stanley Entertainment Group is one of the most prolific production firms in the entertainment industry. This company produces over two thousand episodes of television every year, and it employs nearly a thousand freelance employees.
As you might expect, the Stanley Entertainment Group's best-known production is "The Man Show," and it's no wonder. Stanley's career in the entertainment industry spans over three decades. He has worked for virtually every major studio, and has overseen the financial and business needs of twelve network primetime series. Other notable productions include "The Mole," "Pop Stars," and the hit Nickelodeon game show, "BrainSurge."
Stanley's real-life accomplishments have far exceeded those of his fictional counterpart. For instance, he was mayor of Hidden Hills, CA. In addition to his role as a producer, he has served as an attorney and an executive vice president at Lorimar Television and Warner Bros. Inc. Among his other high-profile credits are two incarnations of the "Joe Schmo Show," which he created for TV.
Not to be left out, Stanley also produced the television show "Legends of the Hidden Temple," which won a CableACE award. However, this production had its fair share of controversy. Some fans thought that it was a waste of money, while others scoffed at its aw-shucks factor. Thankfully, the show eventually got a reboot, which he helped to make.
The Stanley Entertainment Group's most expensive production, however, is "The Pavilion," which is located in the upscale community of Hidden Hills. It features a 250-seat glass door auditorium, along with a 6,000 square-foot banquet facility, as well as a plethora of technologically advanced features. These features are all aimed at helping it to produce some of the most memorable productions in the industry. And the home is no exception.
With its sleek and stylish design and leading-edge technology, it's no wonder the Stanley Entertainment Group is known as the premier independent production firm in the industry. Whether you're planning a wedding, a corporate event, or a private function, the Pavilion is sure to make your guests say ooh and ahh. Located on a secluded 1.18-acre lot, the home offers a grand wrap-around driveway and a spacious, modern kitchen. Also, the property boasts a serene outdoor pool and an outdoor bbq area. A second floor master suite is topped off by a home theater and a custom cabana.
Besides its high-tech features, the Stanley Entertainment Group's most interesting property is its location. Set against the backdrop of Long's Peak and Rocky Mountain National Park, the pavilion is not only a stunning structure, but it's also an ideal location for any special event.

Hey, Mysticons, am I the only one terrified of the large Jeff Head prop in Level Two of BrainSurge? The show is awesome overall, but the large prop scares me to this day.
I actually never watched BrainSurge, so I've never seen the Jeff Head prop. Because of that, it would be hard to say how the Mysticons would react.

Kids these days going to the grocery store to buy themselves some slime for $3. Back in my day the only way to get your hands on some slime was to become a contestant on Nickelodeon's game show Brainsurge, and from there you had two options. You could take the easy route and intentionally get eliminated in the first round, at which point they would send you home with a full bucket of slime as your prize, OR, you could go all the way to the final round and become the last man standing, and at the end when they begin dousing you with victory slime, you could hold out your shirt like a bowl to catch the slime as it pours and do your best to stuff it into your pockets and take it home with you. Maybe bring a ziploc or something.

A sliming scene from a 1982 episode of You Can't Do That on Television was also used in the opening of the 1987 film Fatal Attraction, and references to the series have been used in mainstream U.S. television series ranging from NewsRadio to Family Guy. This aspect of the cult show later became iconized in Nickelodeon's slime logo, subsequent game shows such as Double Dare, What Would You Do?, Figure It Out, and BrainSurge revolving around slime, pies in the face, and other forms of mess, and live events in which participants (including celebrities, particularly at the annual Kids' Choice Awards) would be offered the chance to get slimed or publicly humiliated. In the late 1980s, Nickelodeon and its Canadian counterpart, YTV, even held write-in contests in which the grand prize was a trip to the YCDTOTV set in Ottawa, Ontario, to be slimed. The popularity of Nickelodeon's slime shows spawned imitators such as the short-lived 1988 syndicated game show Slime Time (no relation to Nickelodeon's later Slime Time Live), in which schoolteachers were the victims of green gungings.
The most famous instances of the said gunging tradition opens in 1987 with the first Kids Choice Awards.
In Britain and Europe, in the early 1980s, children's gunge-based game shows were the norm.

Nick Splat Streaming App - Concept
As a good bundling package to CBS All Access, ViacomCBS should do something ambitious as this. Hearing that all of MTV’s assets (production source tapes, master tapes and audio source tapes) are getting digitized, the company should do something for Nickelodeon. At the advent of Disney+, ViacomCBS should create a streaming service made for all Nickelodeon fans from its inception in 1979, to the Golden Age of the 80s and the 90s, to today.
The service, Nick Splat.
Contrasting from Netflix or Hulu, this streaming service will feature everything from the Nickelodeon/ViacomCBS archives under one place.
All included are everything from You Can’t Do That on Television, to Double Dare, to All That, to SpongeBob SquarePants, to Brainsurge, to The Loud House, and more.
We’ll even include overlooked shows like Salute Your Shorts, Just Jordan, Catscratch, and The Brothers Garcia. Even My Brother and Me, Taina, and Cousin Skeeter.
All Nicktoons, all live-action comedies (multi-cam sitcoms and single-camera), game shows, unscripted content, movies, the Nick Jr. section, TeenNick/The N.
Plus every single bumper, advert, station ID, and filler (even the Nick Extras and Nicksclusive’s) ever possible now digitized from the original broadcast masters (video tapes/electronic files).
We are even including live events like the Kids’ Choice Awards and Slime Time Live.
The logo design/app icon is based on The Splat bumpers seen on TeenNick before the rebranding to NickRewind.
------
It’s gonna take a lot of resources and thousands of man hours. And tons of contracting/licensing/signing. But it will be a worthy competition comparing to Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix, Hulu.
Plus, a good bundling deal with ViacomCBS’ CBS All Access.
NickSplat, where Nick is Kids and Kids at Heart.
