BACKSTORY:

Benedict was alive during World War II, when his home country was involved in the war and, obviously, goods were extremely scarce. Benedicts parents were vain and incredibly rich before the war and, wanting to continue to feel superior to their neighbors, made Benedict steal from shipments of goods. From this, Benedict gained a habit of compulsive lying and an addiction to stealing. Eventually, he died as the result of a bombing and ended up in hell.

After showing up in hell, he continued his rampant stealing, becoming a hated and hunted individual in hell. One day, while stealing junk from a “random ship,” he was caught by Sir Pentious who, surprisingly, was not particularly mad at Benedict. Instead, he complimented Benedicts “work” and said he was a particularly dastardly young boy (compliment)

Sir Pentious, in his neverending quest to become a feared overlord (and his soft spot for children) ceased the opportunity to finally own a soul. And adopted had Benedict sign a contract. (Which was BARELY a soul contract as much as it was an incredibly lenient work agreement) and took in Benedict as his right-hand.

Benedict and Sir Pentious developed an incredibly weird relationship to most onlookers. Were they father and son? Employer and employee? Lovers? no one could tell, but whatever it was worked for them, and no one cares enough about sir pentious to really investigate.

Ok here goes:

🍍 What kind of AUs do you like? Are there any AUs you hate or just generally have beef with?

I get a lot of modern AU requests, which I’m fine with. I did get a future/spaceship AU request during kinktober (but it contained no kink) and I couldn’t think of anything compelling to write for it tbh. So I guess future/sci-fi aus don’t work in my mind for these boys. Not that I hate or have beef with it, more I’m not sure I’d be interested to write or even read a story in that setting.

In terms of other AUs… Coffee Shop AU in general has been done to death in every fandom, so I guess that would make me reticent to engage. I can’t think of any others I dislike the idea of off the bat, it really depends on the quality of the story being told more than the setting.

I’ll tell you an AU I did enjoy writing: 70s AU hippy Benedict just living out of a VW bus, getting high, and having all sort of whorish sex. I wrote a short fic for Kinktober 2023 HERE and I definitely would like to revisit him sometime. 🫶😮‍💨

Bwhahah omg well I love to write puns, silliness and banter. Also I love to throw in amusing Easter eggs for my mutuals to enjoy 😉 It’s not my funniest but a jokey “draw me like your French girls” Titanic reference I made in Portrait - that gets a lot of comments, especially on Wattpad haha.

Gosh I’m wracking my brains for what I think is funniest. Yknow what… I might just have to go with It Had To Be You and flipping the gender script on the infamous Meg Ryan diner scene from When Harry Met Sally. I had Benedict fake an orgasm in a restaurant in chapter 4 to prove a point that men can do it too, and honestly, it was just the best fun to write 🤣

Seen a bit of twitter action on Vanessa's character lately, which was caused by this post talking about the double standards the fandom has about Vanny/Vanessa and Michael Afton.

The main excuse for the "hate" that I've seen is that SB sorta sucked as a game, Vanessa barely appears in a game that's supposed to be about her (according to the advertisement at least) and that Vanessa isn't a well-fleshed-out character. Now while all of that may be true, it also applies to Michael (except for the game part ofc) (based on the games, not the novels.) He barely appears in his own game: sure he has a physical presence as, you know, the main character of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th games... but he doesn't have a personality. I don't think it was even confirmed he was trying to redeem himself for killing his brother, I think that was just a headcanon that got insanely popular... playing the game for the first time you have nooo idea who the hell mike/fritz/eggs benedict is until you actually dip your toe in the lore, the games didn't do shit for him either...

Now as for Vanessa... I can be honest, I hated her presence in security breach. But the development of the game has nothing to do with her character... It wasn't so hard to develop a character out of Mike, why is it so hard for Vanessa? ... And I'd like to add that Vanessa isn't even CONFIRMED as Vanny!!! In-game it's implied that she is, but never forget that it also implies that she isn't. Which makes her being hated even worse because there is a huge chance she actually wasn't possessed and murdering children left and right. I feel like people really forget that detail when talking about her character. Also, I heard some people say that "all the details of her character are in the CDs and some people just don't care as much" -... if that's the case why are you even arguing against her?

I don't wanna throw accusations at people yknow to the possibility of being misogynistic, but Vanessa and Mike are practically the same yet... treated so differently???

(Let me add that: we can acknowledge the fact that Mike has had time to marinate as a character and Vanessa is fairly new to the fandom... while also acknowledging that Vanessa has received A LOT OF HATE- and for no particular reason?!?!)

yknow what? yes. dean complains that it’s bougie but cas likes eggs benedict so dean will indulge him by agreeing to go to brunch, like, once a month. also the town i went to college in had a ridiculous number of brunch restaurants that served things like pancakes the size of dinner plates and a “bag of beignets” which was exactly what it sounds like and honestly i think that's right up dean’s alley

What do you think did happen when Jamack, Harris, and Kwat did go to Brunchington Beach? Or was just a small “date” thing for Jamack and Harris during their small private breaks together?

sometimes it'd be actual Business bunch meetings, i.e. "let's discuss our plan of action regarding the newton wolves' latest territory claim", sometimes it'd be special occasions to celebrate promotions, professional successes, etc! or just a nice Treat for the underfrog squad :')

but i really like the idea of harris and jamack going on a date there, too!! probably whenever it's just the two of them REGARDLESS of the actual purpose, the vibe still ends up being pretty date-y, even if it's like, an antagonistic date, lol. they just bring Something out in each other.

it'd be cute if that's how they regained their footing with each other after a particularly nasty "break-up"/fight/disagreement... giving themselves a Reset with mimosas and eggs benedict and helplessly good vibes, yknow?
