Playing sonic unleashed the way god intended (emulated on a macbook)
#/j obviously#if you're wondering how it runs: it's so weirdly inconsistent#i do have a copy of the game for the ps3 but it runs so badly#it's constantly eating my button inputs which is bad when half the game is a beat em up combo masher#(well and also it's my dad's ps3 and i'm usually not in town to borrow it. so i was interested in trying to emulate it)#meanwhile on my computer#the highs are better than the ps3 but the lows are way worse lmao#i'd go as far as to say like 70% of the game runs smoother than it does on the actual console#but there are some parts it just doesn't know how to handle. too many guys on screen and the fps tanks#tbf to the rpcs3 guys they've done a crazy amount of improvement on this emulator!#there is this one part in rooftop run night that i used to get TWO fps in. it now hovers around 15-20fps#which obviously is still pushing the definition of 'playable.' but i am doing this for fun and blasphemy so its fine#sorry lmao getting games to run on apple silicon hardware that aren't supposed to is a special interest of mine#sega won't remaster this game themselves because they hate money i guess 🙄#spooky talks.txt#2am musings of a madman

#spoilers#there'll be spoiler talk lmao#snap chats#ok compliment sandwich time#FIRST OFF absolutely loved this game im so pissed ill never be able to experience it for the first time again#i had no rights being scared of playing it i actually love the rpg playstyle sm- sure i love beat em up but it just feels so right for this#the cast was so cute and lovable and i adore them immensely. also why does no one mention eri ever she's so darling#and the VOICE ACTING- i had my game in english btw and on that note ichiban's VA really does make this game#he's just so passionate in every line he delivers and you can just feel the emotion in everything he says#prob helps that kaiji tang played odin/owain fire emblem before for the theatrics LMAO but seriously i loved his performance so much#on FE note though i completely forgot robbie daymond was zhao and the whole time i was like 'he reminds me of hubert or like akechi lmao'#my hunch was great LMAO GG ME but yeah the gameplay was so fun#and i just love all the little character-building aspects- like how if yo get utterly sloshed with your party everyone has a little comment#not to mention the mid-meal conversations those were so cute#ok for the parts i didnt like uh. NGL, every time I'm stuck on what to do in a game, I always ask myself, 'what would Jarlaxle do?'
#not sure whether to join or destroy the Dark Brotherhood?#or Imperials or Stormcloaks?#or Dawnguard or Vampires?#WHAT WOULD JARLAXLE DO????#it works for almost every major choice I have to make when I'm stuck in a game#except the dawnguard vs vampires one#I deal with too many stupid people on a regular basis#if you can't beat 'em eat 'em#in other words I usually join the vampires#and then just... clean house once Harkon is disposed of#hey look we may be evil but we're not gonna live like fucking savages in this castle#I find that in any open-world game I play I always subconsciously emulate Jarlaxle in my choices#ALWAYS#I don't even try to I just end up playing my character very similarly to Jarlaxle#my Skyrim follower team can best be described as Bregan D'aerthe but with altmer#I normally destroy the DB but I may join it this time and have Cicero be my Athrogate

i just found out that one of my possums is half blind
#someones beating it up :( (by someone i mean another wild animal but still)#its left eye is blind and it has lots of scabs and bald patches all over it :(#someone tell me i can't pet the wild possum that steals my animals' food or else i will try to befriend it#i probably could#it only seems to be afraid of my dog and thats bc shes like three times its size and lunges for it whenver she sees it (out of love)#like the cats dont mind it. not even sly. they were eating next to each other and it was one of the cutest things i ever got to see#em rambles
