I had to explain to a like 65 year old guy the concept of an advant calendar tonight. What is the stupidest customer interaction you have had lately?
I couldn't even hold a straight face if someone asked me that, like have you never heard of the concept before??? Sir??
but GIRL
HOLY SHIT IT'S MY TIME TO SHINEEEE BABYYYY I HAVE HAD THIS ONE IN MY ARSENAL
So this customer came up to me as I was covering a break, hands me each item one at a time, and it's the typical in-season shit: cough medicine, tissues, soup, and then he continues to hold this bag of cough drops.
With the STRAIGHTEST face ever, dead ass looks at me IN THE EYES as he holds the bag of cough drops and says: so how do I use these?
My face, I could not contain the look on my face as I went

I am still stunned to this day, and this happened almost a week ago.

wip train
so i got tagged some weeks ago by @joz-yyh for a wip train and have literally just been waffling over which wip to post an excerpt from.
i'm cheating and putting two. one excerpt for my dd fic and the other for my untitled/temp titled bg3 fic.... both under read more because. well. 1) i'm wordy 2) bhf excerpt is technically nsfw
any mutuals who got stuff they want to share can considered themselves tagged by me :)
break me open, ch 8 nsfw dd, bounty hunter/flagellant
Tardif comes with a low, rumbling moan that Damian feels shake down his spine. He can feel the heat of Tardif’s cum spreading along his thighs—on his soft cock. He shudders. Tardif has marked him in so many ways. He leans back, breath ragged and makes a low noise of surprise when Tardif surges forward to press their mouths together. It’s less of a kiss and more sharing air—tender. Intimate almost.
Tardif is loose and panting, hands petting over Damian’s stuttering chest.
He imagines, this moment of respite is the last scrap Damian will be allowed. Tardif will gather himself now—let Damian know he’s expected in the morning and kick Damian out of his room.
His stomach knots.
Who knows where they’ll go from there. If this means anything.
Tardif nuzzles at Damian’s neck—along one of the bites that will flourish into a bruise. He rumbles something Damian can’t quite hear.
“Tardif,” Damian sighs, “speak clearly.”
There’s a moment of pause. Tardif grumbles again and pulls back. He doesn’t meet Damian’s eye. “It’s late,” Tardif says quietly, tone unfathomable, “People’ll ask questions.”
Damian can feel his heart hammering in his throat as Tardif goes quiet again. Damian sighs. He begins to move—he will need to find his robes and hood. Tardif had been careless in his eagerness to divest Damian of what little clothing he had.
“I will do my best to go unnoticed,” Damian says wryly. He slides towards the edge of the bed. He will need to sneak into the baths again. “We need not the Hamlet questioning either of our judgements.”
Tardif huffs, the sound frustrated. Damian sees the shift of Tardif’s movement, but does not register intention until he feels Tardif’s arm wrap around his waist. He pulls Damian back into the bed.

“I thought we were growing closer, Gale,” there’s a forced blankness to Kore’s voice that sends a lance of nausea through him. “You should have told me right away.”
He thinks to his scorn he showed Kore after Alfira. At least Kore had had the nerve to greet them bloodied, seeking absolution—ready for any judgement they saw fit to strike him with.
Gale hid. Even with the intimacy growing between them… the want. He had kept his secrets. The things that could hurt Kore—could kill him.
“I know.”
What else can he say?
“All of this… Kore. I’m so sorry. This must… feel like the betrayal of betrayals.” This is no vampire bite in the dark—no concealed God. This is a threat to everyone around them. Who is he to have fastened a hope upon a man already fighting with himself? “Say the word. I’ll leave. You won’t have to worry about me anymore.”
“No,” the force and anger in Kore’s voice makes Gale flinch—makes Kore flinch. Kore looks at him, lost, and reaches his hand back out. He hesitates before grabbing Gale’s hand in both of his. His eyes fix intently upon Gale’s—he looks almost as if he is memorizing Gale’s face. “Gale… I care about you.” He squeezes Gale’s hand. “And I care too much about you to abandon you now.”
He feels the stirring of Kore’s tadpole. He shows him a new thought now—the night he went to Kore’s tent. He can feel the calmness, the comfort Kore felt. The warmth he hadn’t realized he had missed upon the eve of his penance.
“Oh,” Gale says softly.
Kore presses his forehead to Gale’s knuckles. “We will fix this.”
It sounds like an oath. A fallen paladin making a promise to a broken, greedy liar of a man.
What a pair they make.

Fucking head fuck again with a problem I have no one to speak to about. Don't really want to put it on here but the chances of people I know seeing it are very slim. On the off chance the person in this rant reads this, I am not blaming you at all, I am just in need of a fucking rant.
Every sunday is a heartache. Everytime he knows he has to get ready or if I say he has to go home, pretty much anything to do with him having to leave this house to go home he will CRY. There seems to be nothing I can do and it is frustrating me because he must feel so bad and what use am I as a parent if I can't help him with that yet? I have come up with a way to deal with it which I've only thought of since applying for the bhf job. I'd be working Saturdays if I got it which means I'd love the day with him. I'd have him Saturday night, all of Sunday and drop him off at school pm Monday where I think he'd no longer cry because he's meeting his mama at school. This is the only way I can see it being dealt with for his sake. To stop him being sad, to stop him crying, to stop his heartache, my heartache and my parents feeling shit about it also. I don't want to go to mediation or court if I can avoid it as I don't want him to have parents who have to go through bullshit like that. Let's hope she's fine with this new arrangement when I discuss it with her possibly within the next 2 weeks. I am sick of being nice and holding back, his feelings and emotions need to be sorted so that he's not feeling any negative impact from anything in his life especially at just short of 4 years old. Fuck me. I don't know if his mother sees this side of him and of she doesn't then I hope she never does because it's very heartbreaking. I hate telling her he cries but I feel I fucking must tell her because it's unfair on him for me not to, right? I don't know. I don't say it to her to make her feel bad or guilty, something she used to accuse me of a lot. If I wanted her or anyone to feel bad or guilty then I will go out of my way to do that.
Jesus, heads a wreck over this. I can't stand my boy being sad. Would this affect him in the future or would it be something he learns to understand and accept? I really wish I could have someone to speak to about this who could give me proper guidance or something.

Bottom Harry Fest Details
Here’s a run down on the bottom Harry fest! I hope you’re all as excited as I am!
What is the bottom Harry Fest?
The Bottom Harry fest is a festival dedicated to bottom Harry Hart! We’re here to show support and generate as much glorious bottom Harry material as possible for all the fandom needs!
It's important in fandom that we respect and accept each other. The bottom Harry fest is a fun way to do just that! Combat discourse with porn! Or fluff! Whatever strikes your fancy.
How to participate: Write, draw, gif, or mood board any bottom Harry creation through the month of November! That's the important bit :) Post to the "Bottom Harry Fest" tag or add your work to the AO3 collection, which will be open all November. There are no word count restrictions on fics.
Parings are not restricted at all during the fest, but BHF will not accept works containing explicit non-con or underage (this is assuming it's explicit and one party is over 18, high school AUs and such are A-OK).
And of course, because this is the bottom Harry fest after all, works must have bottom Harry in some capacity. We'll be open about what that means, however, so that not all works have to be explicit. It could be as simple as someone kissing Harry first, or Harry being taken care of, etc. Fluff matters! It's even one of the themes!
Themes: Speaking of, the BHF will have weekly themes! These are not mandatory at all, and are just here to help get those creative juices flowing. If you want to post an AU on the first or drama on Thanksgiving, we'll welcome your work!
Nov 1st-7th: Humor
Nov 8th-14th: AU
Nov 15th-21st: Drama
Nov 22nd-28th: Fluff
Nov 29th-30th: Free for all!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask them! This is all straight from the about page so if this post ever gets burred you can find it there. Happy creating!

#6 Public health goes digital
With every year approaching, new technology emerges that allows us ordinary individuals to do things we never could have imagined were possible. More specifically, public health has become an important issue since the rise of the Web 2.0. The presences of web links and social campaigns regarding health have been used to encourage the global population in taking care of their physical and mental health.
It has been reported since 2015, “more than 100,000 mobile phone software applications (‘apps’) have been designed for the dissemination of health and medical information and healthcare and public health initiatives” (Lupton & Jutel 2015, pp.128).
100,000 mobile applications? Wow, didn’t expect that much now did you?
Digital health has evolved. Almost about 83% of Internet users are resorting to online platforms for health information (McCosker 2012, p.2).
Who would’ve thought that we would have an endless amount of resources at a click of button on computer devices?  Or who would’ve thought smartphones would hold applications providing us with crucial information, instantly, at the touch of our finger (Gough et al. 2017)?
With that in mind, let me ask you…
You’re sick, symptoms consisting of: coughing, sneezing, headaches and that annoying pain you only feel when you ‘touch’ it.
So what do you do?
You go on Google of course…
Your heart starts racing, you’re anxious at what it could be but remain positive.
It’s not good news, you almost faint at sight of the first search when it suggests ‘Cancer’
Tumblr media

Does this sound familiar?
Tumblr media
Don’t feel guilty; we have all been there.
While Google provides great resources on multiple health sources and allows individuals to become participants (Farrell 2017), it can also be dangerous.
The worst thing you can do is self-diagnosis without going to a doctor to be sure. Self-diagnosing only breeds anxiety over a small common symptom to scroll through hundreds of causes saying it is ‘dire’. It needs to be made that each users are aware of what sites they use, “determining how the content is created, who performs this content creation and how often it is updated” (Lupton 2015, pp.133).
HOWEVER, social media has proven to show how public health campaigns “can have a direct and positive effect on behaviour” (Freeman et al. 2015, p.2). A great example can be seen from a charity focused campaign called “#WorldHeartDay” made by World Heart Federation, which was conducted to reach a primary goal of ‘reducing 25% of international cardiovascular heart disease cases and strokes by 2025” (Meltwater 2016). This campaign has taken place since 2000 and is celebrated on the 29th of September.
As seen below, this image provides an insight of cardiovascular disease. It illustrates how important it is to help those who suffer from it but also making everyone globally aware of the disease.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

With reference to 2016 campaign, it was wide-spread all over social platforms such as: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Youtube, spreading and encouraging global users to be apart of taking a ‘Healthy Heart Selfie’ and post them with the #PowerYourLife and #WorldHeartDay branded hashtags” (Meltwater 2016).
On ‘The BHF’ (British Heart Foundation) twitter page, their first tweet during 29th was their most successful during the campaign.
Tumblr media
Earning; 289,717 impressions, 2,777 RTS and 1,949 LIKES (BHF 2017)
https://twitter.com/TheBHF/status/781402644149444608
Not only was social media a factor, but celebrity influence also helped endorse the campaign. As seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_70Hz7icSs
Oueen Latifah and her mother shared their own experience, which ultimately can help others feel more inclined to speak up after knowing that they’re not alone (Meltwater 2016).
Social media is just one way for users to be informed about health risks, and it does one fine job in building the emotional support from one user to another – even if they’re on the other side of the world.

In the interest of being honest and transparent, and in kicking off the new year right, here is me outright saying it in case anyone is unaware. I am a proshipper. I don't fucking care if you don't like it, you can go. I am of the thinking that one should allow people to ship and let ship. Don't like? Don't read. Dead Dove Do Not Eat is there for a reason man, if it is well and appropriately tagged then it isn't my business.

Chapter 02: “Arrival”
It was a cold night in Rosario (Argentina) at 4 a.m. when we sat foot on the vehicle to drive to Buenos Aires; where we would have a little informative meeting with AFS workers and to take the picture with the country you were going to.
Tumblr media
Then the time of departure of the flight finally arrived. My mother in tears as usual, she tried to be strong... but she isn’t; though it wasn’t until I left that she broke up, an achievement.
The thing I desire the most every time I hop on to an airplane is sitting by the window. I find it amusing. Seeing the same terrain where I could be standing, and hell, where even people are standing; saying that they look like ants is incorrect, they look much more like bacterias.
The flight was rather long, which was expected because of the distance between Argentina and Paris (which was our first stop). When we sat foot on the airport in Paris I felt a rush of feelings, my dream came true, being in Europe. I couldn’t believe it, I still struggle to realise that I have already been 3 weeks in Europe, and I have visited more countries (yes, countries!) than I’d ever have expected to do in just 3 weeks.
We waited like an hour in Paris and then we got in the airplane from Paris to Frankfurt. It was strange. Starting to see every sign in a language I didn’t know. There we waited for hours until the time we had to take the train arrived.
I will always remember the train trip, 2 Argentinians, 1 Brasilian, and 1 German in the same train (oh, and a Thai that well, didn’t even speak English at all). You can imagine the atmosphere there, the elephant in the room. It was a constant series of events where the German said 7-1 to the Brasilian while at the same time he was saying Götze or we won the World Cup. Despite all the possible problems it could’ve cause, it was a friendly environment, having a friendly talk about football, which is so characteristic in these 3 countries.
I was going to Duisburg, where my family would be waiting for me. But moments before arriving to Duisburg Bhf, I started to change my mind about German’s attitude. From nowhere, a not young but neither old lady started to talk to me, she was curious about where I was from and what I was doing so far away (she started talking to me when she heard me asking the German guy what did something mean). Anyway, the point is that the image I had about German being like rocks (before knowing you!) started to fade, I felt their warmness (which I later confirmed in these 3 weeks that I’ve been here).
The moment to hop off the train came. I wasn’t nervous. There, my family was waiting for me, I totally did not expect to receive A HUG from a German who didn’t even know me in person, it was shocking.
I must say that ever since the night I arrived this family made me feel in a way that I didn’t lose the warmess of my home in Argentina. I felt like home.

I still don’t have any pictures with the rest of my family. I think this is enough for today.

MONDAY
Art history with Theo
In the art history class, He taught us how to analyze the historical pictures. He used different analysis techniques. It was very interesting.

Tuesday
Lcp introduction
The lesson started with an introduction about how our schedule will look like for this lesson. We are supposed to choose some topics via the links on Google Drive which we will later narrow down to 2.
Proff Comm
We have filled the forms which will help us shape our career path and we were assigned more forms serving this purpose. I find this extremely beneficial because although I have an idea what I would like to do after this school year, this helps me structure my thoughts and ideas. Seeing my thoughts structured gives me the motivation to move forward.

WEDNESDAY
Video making workshop
We started by watching some videos which made me think that this lesson is going to be boring. We went over some familiar topics, then learned about how to prepare before videomaking, planner, time management and equipment. The lesson became interesting for me when we started speaking about editing the color connection, grading, and sounds.
Tumblr media
FRIDAY
Drawing Workshop with Franco
Franco started with a presentation and spoke about illustrations. I imagined the course of this lesson differently but we created a work with newspaper clippings.
