we've been rewatching BB15 and this shit should be taught in schools... we're just watching what white privilege is in real time (well, not in real time anymore but you know what i mean)

***BB15 SPOILERS***

specifically in the moments after Candice calls a house meeting (i miss these) and confronts Spencer.

aaryn is given the benefit of the doubt & a second chance despite being nothing but awful to literally everyone in the house (and blatantly racist). she exhibited the same exact kinds of outbursts & confrontations and they were just ignored or shrugged off while Candice exhibits the same behavior ONCE, while at her most vulnerable point in the game, after having what is arguably the worst experience in BB history, and she is automatically labelled a 'loose cannon' and everyone seems to think she over-reacted and was too aggressive (again, none of this was said about aaryn, gm, kaitlyn, jeremy, or any of the other people in the house that had similar/identical out bursts)

aaryn faked like she was a decent human (and complained and literally told people she deserved praise/acknowledgement for doing so) for a week then displayed BLATANT racism after winning HOH (the whole "i just said axe instead of ask" mind baffling horror show that i can't even get into without having a rage meltdown rant) confirming that it was all an act and she just doesn't give a shit about being nice or good but because she's white (literally the ONLY difference when you look at the actual behavior/confrontations) and "pretty" she has intrinsic value to the other house guests that excuse her awfulness.

this is all just subconscious stuff that happens... because institutional racism... because privilege

the houseguests don't need to be bad people or racist people to be complicit in this... it just happens, without them even thinking about it, they assign more value to aaryn than Candice. they buy into the racist stereotypes of black women even though Candice has shown no aggressive behavior up to this point. it can be argued that this also happens because arryn has been a stronger player or that they are just clinging to this as an excuse to evict someone they don't really care about & there is an element of that in the mix here but at the end of the day, even the POC that were directly affected by her blatant racism (Helen) feel forced to just ignore it as part of "the game" and "life" because there's "nothing they can do about it" and place nice with this girl.

anyway thanks for coming to my TED talk and please speak out about racism/racist remarks AS THEY HAPPEN. i hope Candice is living her best life

The blatant racism he’s trying to disguise as strategy is unacceptable, disgusting and just plain foul.
