PyCon JP 聴講して気になった発表をまとめる
PyCon JP 2017 に行ってきたので、個人的に興味があるトピックをかいつまんでここにメモを残す。
(Day 1) ベンリに使おう変数アノテーション - typing.pyとの楽しいお付き合い
Python 3 で関数と変数にアノテーション（型情報）を記述することができるようになったが、今回は変数アノテーションの話。
PEP 3107: 関数のシンタックスに関する定義
PEP 484: 型ヒント - 関数・変数のセマンティクス、変数のシンタックスに関する定義
PEP 526: 変数のシンタックスに関する定義 (global_var: int = 3939 という具合)
Golang の JSON は定義した構造体に直接流し込めて、同時に型チェックをしてくれる12。Python でも同様のことがしたいというのが目的。サンプルは puhitaku/typedmarshal
以下のようなジェネリック型の紹介:
In [1]: from typing import * In [4]: def func(arg: List[str]): ...: return arg ...:
とその中身を見て if-else による型チェックを行う。
(Day 1) Kivyによるアプリケーション開発のすすめ
GUI アプリケーションフレームワークの Kivy に関する内容。公式ドキュメントが整っていないので、今回の発表はよくまとめられていて参考にしたい。
処理部分の Python ファイルと UI 部分の kv ファイルに分けられるため全体の見通しが良くなる
Layout と Widget の組み合わせで UI を構成
Kivy Language は CSS や Twitter Bootstrap の概念に近い
API ドキュメント:
拡張機能は Kivy Garden によって管理。mapview や matplotlib などが用意されている。
Kivy のインストールでこけたり macOS だと Python 3.6 でうまく動作しないなど面倒
開発の際に Inspector 使うと便利。kviewer を使うと kv ファイル保存のたびにビューに反映されて状態を視覚化できる。
(Day 1) PythonとRを行ったり来たり
メモリに乗る程度の比較的小規模なデータセットを前提とする。
データの形式: CSV（もっとも汎用的だが、型情報を失われる）・Excel（Pandas や readxl で読みこむ）・RDB・Feather（Pandas の Wes McKinney と R の神 Hadley Wickham が中心となって開発された、Python と R で相互にやり取りできるフォーマット。型情報や NA/null 値を保持できる）
Python から R を呼び出す方法: rpy2 が便利。Jupyter Notebook ではラインマジック（%R の後に R のコードを記述）やセルマジック（%%R の後に R コードを書く）を使用できる。R のデータフレームは Pandas の DataFrame と相互変換される
R から Python を呼び出す方法: RMarkdown で Python コードをそのまま実行できる3
(Day 2) 機械学習におけるデータの再現性について
データをローカルに保存してゴニョるよりも、オブジェクトストレージやその他クラウドサービス上に置いたままそこにアクセスする方がヒューマンエラーが少なく常に同じデータを参照できるという話
Keras の MNIST データセットのように関数|メソッドでデータセットを取得できるのがベターな方法
akagi パッケージの紹介: Redshift, S3, Google スプレッドシートのデータを直接読み込める（クレデンシャルなどの情報はあらかじめ環境変数に設定する）
(Day 2) Python をとりまく並行/非同期の話

I/O バウンドな処理はマルチスレッド（ThreadPoolExecuter）、CPU バウンドな処理はマルチプロセス（ProcessPoolExecuter）。この辺は PEP 3148 に定義されている
CPU バウンドな処理は GIL のためマルチスレッドは不向き（Pandas などで意図的に GIL を解放する場合があるらしい?）
サードパーティ製の非同期ライブラリ: gevent, Twisted, Tornado（この辺はオライリーの入門 Python 3 にも書かれていた記憶ある）
Python 3.5 で asyncio が整った。asyncio を利用した aiohttp・aioredis・aiomysql を利用すると良い。uvloop を使用するとコードをほとんど書き変えずにパフォーマンス向上可能
所感
参加者はデータ分析周りの方が半数程度、発表もその方面のものが多かった印象
初学者向けのセッションは Python の利用事例について、中級者向けはサンプルコードつきの発表が多い傾向
ツールを実際に使う点でのつらみなどの知見を聞けてよかった。場合によって向き不向きがわかりやすい
やっていきの気持ちが高まった
