If anyone deserved a cry, it was the working party who’d been tasked with dressing the deck down to the inch, tagging everything, and squinting for scrubbed serial numbers. The layout was so religiously uniform, it could only be clone work. And only on Kamino, only to the audio instruction of Jango Fett, had Fox had ever seen grenades arranged rings-inward, two-by-five, to make them easier to count.

Fox glanced at her, completely at sea. He’d only ever fielded complaints up his kama. Collected them like sourgums, and chewed them into a more palatable mass for higher. But a superior griping to him? And birther-on-birther bitching, too? Goddamn unnatural.
“Truly, it’s a mercy he’s on our side,” Fox offered, exerting himself to meet her tone.
“We sing a song of thanksgiving.” And if he wasn’t mistaken, that was Salima sarcasm. “His efforts have been amply recognized,” she went on. “Kathcar’s entire staff has been assigned to the second inventory, the pack-up, and multiple walkdowns.”
Still unsure why he’d been brought to bear witness, Fox mirrored her satisfied stance. Wasn’t hard. Justice had been served, and that was a satisfaction that swelled readily within Commander Fox.
“Don’t suppose you men recognize birthdays,” Salima mused, severely pivoting the conversation. Her hands fidgeted behind her back. “Do you even know when you took your first breath, Commander?”
“I’m sure it’s in the metadata somewhere, sir,” Fox replied, tapping his temple, because birthers assumed they were chipped in the head.
Salima laughed. A real chestful of mirth. And Fox suddenly remembered what he’d seen in her.
“Well, if the troopers responsible for this sexy jigsaw here have ever celebrated a birthday, it must’ve been a muted affair. My staff tell me they’ve never left the ship.” She seemed to buckle under this admission; braced herself on the console with the visible weight of decision-making. Fox tensed. “Two years in space. Mother of Farrik.”
Two years in space, four years in clone, all time that had never belonged to them anyway. Fox shifted his helmet, to worry his left thumb raw instead.
“If you can fit them on your transport — the traffic troops and two more squads, I’d be grateful,” she said, straightening herself and her jacket. “I figure, if anyone can show some young men a good, mostly law-abiding time in Galactic City, it’s your staff.”
Fox was somewhat gobsmacked. But he’d suffer a vac-head shiny upon his lap, if it meant they finally enjoyed some shore leave. “I might know a solid establishment or three.”
Salima actually shook his hand, transferring a high-denomination credit chip from some unseen pocket. “Forty-eight hours. Let them have a birthday party. For me. Don’t make anyone regret it and you can keep the change.” Her mouth scrunched against a smile.
“Yes, sir,” Fox replied, equally guileful and all appreciation.
An all-expenses-paid night on the town was a rare thing. But watching whitejobs practically shit slugs at a mandatory invitation from the strong arm of the law? Always priceless.

1. Where is India today in terms of housekeeping robotics?
Ans: We are in the early years of housekeeping robots in India and catching momentum fast.
With sustainability and automation being key goals for this decade, along with fast urbanisation and infrastructure development all around, housekeeping robots are well positioned for rapid adoption across sectors and use-cases.
2. What’s next in terms of robots and automation in cleaning – new models.
Ans: Our mission is ‘to expedite the use of service robots ʼ and we are fully committed to make housekeeping robots across use-cases – Indoors, Outdoors, Horizontal and Vertical surfaces.
With our floor scrubber dryers (in two sizes of 45L and 100L) already in production, we have two new robots in the pipeline for indoor cleaning to be launched within the next 6 months (Carpet Cleaners and Vacuum Cleaners) followed by India’s first outdoor cleaning robot (Robotic Sweeper).
As an agile company, we are always ears for feedback from our customers and build robots leveraging our technology and production capabilities. Case-in-point were the significant enquiries for outdoor robots to clean the large canvas of land surrounding offices and factories; this led to us developing the first 100% autonomous outdoor sweeper robot, which is planned to start production within FY22.
3. Can you tell us a bit about the challenges you faced and currently face? Is the ROI stacking up India?
All physical technologies come in three phases – Big, Small & Invisible. Both in terms of their size and the mindspace they capture.
In similar fashion, we are at the “Big” stage of Housekeeping services automation in India where we see deep interest, varied expectations and many queries. “Robots” as a subject can evoke many expectations, some reasonable and some imaginary. It’s a challenge to align those to practical technology capabilities.
We overcome these by aligning the right expectations to start with. Our first goal is to educate the user, followed by delighting them with our robots + service.
Cost of manpower in India versus in developed countries makes for different approaches to ROI. Apart form direct costs, there is also the allied costs of supervision, attrition, consumables, utilities (water and electricity) which in unison makes the ROI very much in favour of the clients.
Industry standard for ROI for automation is 36 months and we are able to provide the ROI in less than 24. As operations of companies become multi-shift, the ability of robots to provide a consistent and predictable experience moves the consensus in our favour.
4. Which sectors do you see the most demand from?
Ans: At Peppermint Robots, our focus started from large spaces and hygiene conscious sectors.  Therefore our early customers have been from Food Processing, Pharmaceutical, Warehouses and Manufacturing.
With the newer robots in pipeline designed for more use-cases like carpets and soft floors, we are excited to deploy Peppermint across sectors like Hospitality, Offices as well. We also see a growing customer base in gated residential real estate projects who are entrusting facility management and housekeeping to professional third parties.

It’s every dentist’s dream to see all their patients flossing every day and maintaining their oral hygiene, and every patient’s dream to have a mouth free of dental problems and floss can make them come true.
Why should you floss?
Flossing daily is not that difficult or time consuming as it sounds. As everyone uses soaps to bathe but still feel the need of scrubbing their body with body scrubbers, flossing daily is similarly important along with brushing twice.
