Came home to some free-range chickens.
#I didn’t latch the coop door all the way#The door they got out of was still ajar#but they couldn’t grasp the concept of stepping /around/ the door to get in#Also they know and trust me but they are#fundamentally#prey animals#So they gave me quite the runaround as I did the old grab and toss#two of them got behind the coop against the neighbor’s wire fence#one of them then tried her darnedest to go through the fence and break her neck in the process.#Anyway. They’re back in the coop. None the worse for their little adventure.
