Bit of an update on chapter 2 of ‘Sam Tyler Doesn’t Exist,’ unfortunately I’m running a bit behind, and I don’t think it’s going to be done when I wanted it to be :( A lot of real life stuff going on, but I should have some more time to work on this soon. Don’t worry, it will get done! The line art is done, with the exception of a few of the more difficult panels, and I’m working on color now. Hopefully just a few more weeks. I added some pages, so it’ll be 14 pages, instead of the originally planned 10.

But here’s the first page as a bit of a teaser preview!

Is Annie an actual real person? We know from A2A that Gene, Ray, Chris, Shaz and Viv are real. Nelson and Keats are psychopomps of some sort. But the existence of Sam's mum, and other people who are alive in the present, indicates that Gene's world is populated by, for lack of a better word, NPCs.

I always assumed Annie was real, I headcanoned that she was actually killed by Sam's dad, but on this rewatch I find it very suspicious how every time Sam looks like he's making progress towards waking up she appears to distract, deflect and literally talk him down from the ledge. And because she doesn't appear in A2A, we never get confirmation she was ever a real, living human being. I'm not saying she's one of the NPCs, but could she be a psychopomp?
