     JUNE 19TH, 1954
AFTER BEING DECLARED “incompetent” by a Jackson County court, a 15 year-old boy is transferred into the custody of the Florida State hospital; Within 48 hours of his arrival, he is pronounced dead. But Cause of death? Well that would depend on which page of the boy’s file that you’re looking at. Only one of many questionable things that could be found within the roughly 200 pages that I was handed back in August of 2018. By the time I read through the content, I would be so confused that I would have to go back & read through the pages two more times, spending considerable time on each individual page taking notes; So many things failed to make sense, reminding me just how evil what we were dealing with was.
      THOMAS HERBERT WIGGINS
BORN TO OLLIE & Jeffie Wiggins in March of 1937, Thomas Herbert Wiggins was the youngest of 2 boys. His life would begin in Opp, Alabama but the Wiggins family would eventually relocate to the Florida Panhandle to continue raising their boys. At 1st they would report only seeing subtle differences between their oldest & youngest sons. Where Thomas’s big brother was very social & outgoing, Thomas was extremely introverted, preferring to be by himself. He showed no interest in playing sports OR becoming involved in other activities, unlike his sibling who excelled in both sports & academics & was also popular amongst his peers. While this may have been reason to give pause for a moment Mr. & Mrs. Wiggins didn’t panic initially, however, by age 11, Thomas began showing signs of extreme paranoia. He started to fixate on his food being poisoned. His course of action would be to refuse food, often go days without eating.
    The Oshner Clinic ~ 1950
WHEN THOMAS’S “SPELLS” became violent, his parents would finally seek help for their son. He would 1st be evaluated at Oshner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana.
WHILE HE WAS there, Dr. C. Harrison Snyder & staff would perform extensive testing before issuing their findings & recommendations to the Wiggins family. Dr. Snyder reported that ALL tests were normal, including his cognitive functioning & intelligence. He recommended that Thomas be kept at home & receive plenty of love & positive attention from his family as well as be returned to his previous school where he was thriving & happy. In a nutshell, Dr. Snyder stated that being loved & cared for by his family within the security of his home would be key to Thomas being successful in life.
IN HIS FINAL statement, the doctor requested to be notified within a month’s time of Thomas’s progress. I can say with confidence that they didn’t follow up with the Oshner Clinic as specified. I’m also positive that the Wiggins’ decided that keeping their family intact would not be an option as a little over 2 years later, he would be committed to the Florida State Hospital & when removed by his father, just 3 months after admission, they would send a letter to the medical director reporting that they were looking at boarding schools.
OTHER THAN THAT letter there is nothing else recorded about how Thomas was doing OR his whereabouts for over a year until he was sentenced to the Dozier School for Boys in September of 1953. It’s easy to wonder:
WHERE THE HELL WAS THOMAS WIGGINS FOR THE YEAR IN BETWEEN??
  PAGE BY EXCRUTIATING PAGE
IT WOULD BE an impossible task to list out every page of Thomas’s file in detail BUT what I am going to do is list out some of the more interesting & questionable items that I’ve seen. For the sake of everyone’s sanity, I’m only going to talk about some of the more questionable details leading to his 1952 commitment to the State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida through when he would become an inmate at Dozier in September of 1953. Everything after will be covered in the next couple of posts.
Anyone interested in reading it in its entirety can click here:
Wiggins Case File
SO LET’S START with the basics….
WHAT IN GOD’S NAME IS THE DIAGNOSIS??
I COUNTED NOTHING short of half a dozen different reasons for Thomas’s commitment to the Florida State Hospital in 1952. That’s right SIX different diagnoses, ALL independent of one another, each listed on separate areas of a form OR on a completely different form altogether. Though most were pretty common by today’s standards, one REALLY stuck out like a sore thumb. See if Y’all can figure out which one I’m talking about…
  1) Schizophrenic
2) Agressive Psychosis
3) Dementia Praecox
4) Homosexuality
5) Vivid Hallucinations
6) Mental Incompetency
DOES ANYTHING ON the list jump out at you?? If you said number 4, you’re definitely NOT alone! When I saw “Homosexuality” listed as a diagnosis, I was stunned…At least initially. It didn’t take long for the shock to wear off & everything started to make sense. I’ll cop to the possibility that Tommy may have had some serious mental health issues BUT it was all too clear that the family’s major concern was that he may be gay.
THIS PARTICULAR “ISSUE”  had got me thinking; Was Thomas gay & the fact that he was unable to express this the reason for some of these other issues that he was having OR did these other mental issues exist within him already, only to be exasperated by the frustration that he must have felt not being able to be his true self?
UNFORTUNATELY, WE WILL probably never know the answer & even if we did, it’s far too late to help Thomas now.
THE PROOF LIES IN THE INCONSISTENCIES
OFFICIALLY LABELING THOMAS’S “problem” would NOT be the only inconsistency. I have to bring up one of the most careless, idiotic mistakes that someone in an official capacity can make; Getting a patient’s date of birth/age incorrect on forms inside of their chart. I wish I could say that this was just a one time deal that was due to a typo BUT it wasn’t.
THIS PARTICULAR INDISCRETION became a common occurrence over a number of Thomas’s documents. His year of birth was changed from 1937 to 1938, even at one point listing his birth month as May instead of March. His age often fluctuated. For example, one form would list Thomas as being 14, however, another would show his age at 15, even though the completion date on both matched.
IN ALL ACTUALITY, the entire file was so chaotic that it took forever to get through. Every time I’d begin scanning a page, I’d notice something odd & have to stop to make a note about it. For instance, I’d read a doctor’s comment about how Thomas was only apt to self harm & then the next page would have that same physician noting that his “Propensity was to harm others.” My personal favorite was when the attending physician reported that there was really nothing outstanding about Tommy but immediately goes on to state that “Tommy is extremely ill.” Did this educated physician, who was the Medical Director of the Florida State Hospital, realize that he contradicted himself on a regular basis? If he DIDN’T, he’s an idiot & if he DID than he’s a jackass…Either scenario made poor Tommy up shit’s creek when it came to receiving ANY type of reliable treatment.
IN SPITE OF Thomas’s illness being described as dire, it ultimately didn’t prevent his father from discharging him only a few months into his treatment. Though we have no record of what happened during his year away from FSH, we can assume that he continued to decline…OR as I see it, he wouldn’t stop being gay. Thomas would resurface again BUT this time he wouldn’t be receiving hospital care, he would be sent to a brutal reform school located in Marianna, Florida where he would live out the remaining days of his way too short life.

Liverpool 1-1 Leicester -Reds Miss Chance to Go Seven Points Clear
Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson; Henderson, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson; Shaqiri, Wijnaldum, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Mane.
Leicester (4-2-3-1): Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Maguire, Evans, Chilwell; Mendy, Ndidi; Albrighton, Maddison, Gray; Vardy.
Tumblr media
Liverpool came into the game with a terrific chance to go 7 points clear at the top of the Premier League after Manchester City’s surprise defeat the previous night at Newcastle. They named quite an attacking side with Jordan Henderson in at right back, and all four of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri starting. Leicester brought James Maddison back into the side and set up to hit Liverpool with pace on the counter attack with Demarai Gray and Jamie Vardy also in the lineup.
Liverpool’s shape was very interesting - although the above lists it as a 4-3-3, they effortlessly switched to and from a 4-2-3-1 shape when it suited them, with Salah moving to centre forward, Firmino dropping back, and Shaqiri coming out to wide right. Shaqiri in particular put in a very disciplined performance, watching Salah at all times to ensure he was covering the space his teammate had vacated. Gini Wijnaldum and Naby Keita in central midfield kept their positions, and Sadio Mane generally stuck to his starting position on the left wing as he prefers to do.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Liverpool favoured that left wing in the early stages, and after just 3 minutes their opening goal came after good combination play between Mane and Andrew Roberton on that side. With Henderson deputising at right back, Liverpool may have instinctively moved the play to the other side to protect him, and were rewarded with a goal.
Leicester tried to target Henderson early on, with whichever player was taking up the left wing position at any given time playing higher up than their counterpart on the right. Henderson has played right back before though and is generally a decent defensive player. He certainly didnt stand out as a weak point in defence, although he did get away with an early foul that wasnt given right on the edge of the box. Liverpool were actually just as strong on the right side - because both Salah and Shaqiri were occupying right-of-centre positions, Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray had plenty to worry about and afforded Henderson a lot of space going forward. He is quite a good crosser of the ball and this added another dimension to Liverpool’s attack.
Leicester looked like they had arrived set up to play on the counter attack, but the early goal scuppered their plans as it meant Liverpool were not under pressure to commit too many men forward, so the Foxes had to change their tactics, and decided to press Liverpool high up the pitch. The snowy conditions helped hugely in this regard, with Liverpool unable to slow the game down and calmly pass it around: the pitch was far from it’s usual high quality. Alisson struggled the most with this, giving the ball away on a few occasions as he refused to adapt his game to the conditions. In the early stages Leicester’s three attacking players behind Vardy rotated to see if they could confuse the Liverpool defence, but eventually settled on Gray at left wing, Marc Albrighton on the right, and Maddison playing centrally, very close to Vardy.
If Maddison had played a little further back he may have been able to find more space as neither of Liverpool’s central midfielders are particularly defensive-minded, but he played more like a second striker and was not particularly effective. This meant Leicester’s only real threat was through traditional wing play, trying to get the ball high and wide and present a cross to Vardy. Leicester’s equaliser on the stroke of half time did indirectly come from this, with right back Ricardo Pereira chasing a lost cause and drawing a silly foul from Andrew Robertson. From the resulting free kick, Leicester eventually found Harry Maguire, who lost his marker to head home.
In the first half, Liverpool struggled to manage the game largely due to the slow pitch, but in the second half they attacked for virtually the entire 45 minutes, so this was no longer a major problem. Leicester had left a lot of spaces in behind in the first half when they were chasing their goal, but were satisfied with a draw and so played much more reservedly in the second half, presenting a new challenge for Liverpool to try to break them down. Leicester did almost score a carbon copy of their goal early in the second half with Maguire again unmarked from a set piece and missing a chance to take the lead. Other than this, Leicester stayed compact, only looking to counter attack occasionally as they protected the result.
Jurgen Klopp introduced Fabinho and Adam Lallana in place of Keita and Shaqiri to try to mix things up in their efforts to find a winning goal. Fabinho played central midfield rather than switching with Henderson at right back, and Lallana took up an inside left position, allowing Salah to stay as the central striker for the remainder of the game. It was slightly odd to see Lallana playing wide when he replaced a natural winger in Shaqiri, but Shaqiri had not been as dynamic as he usually is and perhaps Klopp hoped a more natural number 10 like Lallana would help unlock the stubborn Leicester defence.
Unfortunately for Liverpool their changes did not inspire a winner.. Given that they started with such an attacking formation, there was not a lot they could do to switch it up a gear short of something radical like moving to an aggressive back three. The changes were relatively like-for-like, as Fabinho didnt change much, and Lallana was unable to create anything significant. Liverpool really lacked a creative player with the ability to unlock defences in this moment. When compared to their title rivals, who can call on the likes of De Bruyne, Silva, Eriksen etc, Liverpool simply do not have a similar player of the same quality in this mould.
Klopp’s final roll of the dice was to introduce Daniel Sturridge for Firmino. Sturridge is a much more natural number 9, so it’s understandable to think he might have been the man to nick a goal, but he played in Firmino’s withdrawn forward role and was too involved in the build up play. Had he been allowed to play a slightly more selfish poacher role, he may well have gotten into a position to score, but he was too occupied trying to fashion a chance for the likes of Salah.
As the game went on, Leicester introduced Hamza Choudhury and Shinji Okazaki, hard working players who helped to see out the game. Choudhury in particular made a very good impact, at one stage sprinting back from a forward position to tackle Mane who was on a forward run.
Leicester were clearly happy to go away with a point, which is entirely reasonable given Liverpool’s form this season, particularly at home, and Claude Puel will be delighted to relieve himself of a little pressure. Liverpool pushed hard for a winning goal but did not have to go all out as, despite their disappointment, their lead has increased to 5 points after City’s shock defeat yesterday. Liverpool look well on course for the Premier League title, but if they are to have any sort of sustained success in domestic competitions and the Champions League, I believe they are missing a world class playmaker worthy of being in the same lineup as their fearsome front three.

"Long-term vision" - Loads of Leicester fans deliver verdicts on replacing Puel
Leicester City have parted company with manager Claude Puel, the club have confirmed on their official website.
The Foxes announced on Sunday that Puel has left the King Power Stadium. Puel joined the club in October 2017 but has struggled in the dugout this season.
Leicester are currently 12th in the Premier League but were beaten 4-1 by Crystal Palace on Saturday in what has proved to be the Frenchman’s final game in charge.
Indeed, the club have not won a game since New Year’s Day, when they defeated Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park.
Since then, Puel has seen his side beaten by Southampton, Wolves, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Palace in the Premier League, along with Newport County in the FA Cup. A surprise 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield is the last point the club picked up.
And Leicester fans are now anticipating the club’s next move, with many calling for either Brendan Rodgers or Rafael Benitez to come into the fold.
I’m genuinely torn between Rafa and Rodgers if I’m honest, slightly swaying towards Rafa for his record atm, we’ll end up with neither tho knowing @LCFC
— Mark (@Sparky_2266) February 24, 2019
Personally I’d like Wagner, but I do like Rodgers, he has done a fantastic job at Celtic. He seems a strong manager who is not afraid of the players. He did a good job at Liverpool too. LCFC
— Kev (@wignallLCFC) February 24, 2019
Benitez or Rodgers for @LCFC please! Make the right appointment for our fantastic club 🦊👍🏻🦊👍🏻🦊👍🏻
— Tim Deacon (@timdeacon71) February 24, 2019
Brendan Rodgers ASAP!! @LCFC
— Stuart Kinnaird (@stukinnaird) February 24, 2019
Arteta or Rodgers for me. Can’t see Rafa playing nice football with us and Wagner is a risk. #LCFC
— Matt Taylor (@_MattThePower) February 24, 2019
Ambition should rightly be the best of the rest outside the top six.
Not against a caretaker manager until the end of the season, but need someone with a long-term vision who can rebuild the club.
Brendan Rodgers would be my first choice and a perfect fit. #LCFC
— Jordan Halford 💚🦊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (@JordanHalford) February 24, 2019
So Puel has had the sack at @LCFC. Personally, I’d go for Benitez or Rodgers to replace him.
— Andrew Maddox (@MaddoxAVFC) February 24, 2019
Rodgers/Benetiz/ Wagner would be happy with any of them to be fair make it happen @LCFC #lcfc

Premier League 2018/19 Tactical Analysis: Liverpool vs Leicester City
New Post has been published on https://bestfreebettingtips.com/premier-league-2018-19-tactical-analysis-liverpool-vs-leicester-city/
Premier League 2018/19 Tactical Analysis: Liverpool vs Leicester City
Artwork by @chapulana
Manchester City were defeated by Newcastle United at St. James’ Park just a day before title rivals Liverpool faced Leicester. Pep Guardiola’s men actually started the game well with an early goal from Sergio Aguero from an unorthodox assist by Bernardo Silva. Somehow, Rafael Benitez managed his squad brilliantly, allowing them to clinch a precious 2–1 victory.
Knowing they could thus widen the gap to seven points, Liverpool came into this match with high hopes. The home side won their previous two matches against Brighton and Crystal Palace by scoring five goals, thanks to their deadly frontmen led by star man Mohamed Salah. Meanwhile, Leicester City came to Anfield on the back of a string of bad results. Claude Puel’s side had lost all of their previous three games, including a humiliating defeat to League Two side Newport County in the FA Cup.
As expected, Liverpool dominated the majority of the game. Sadio Mane’s goal in the third minute was the first piece of evidence. Unluckily for the Reds, Harry Maguire bagged an equaliser for Leicester late in the first half. Jurgen Klopp’s side tried their utmost to the winner but they failed to do so. The game ended in a draw and Liverpool were only able to widen the gap to five points. This tactical analysis will inform you how the match unfolded.
Starting lineups
Lineups from both teams (sofascore.com)
Liverpool opted for their usual 4–2–3–1. James Milner and Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s absence from this game forced Klopp to play Jordan Henderson at right-back. In the middle of the park, Naby Keita stood alongside Georginio Wijnaldum. Xherdan Shaqiri returned on the right wing to support the deadly trio of Mane, Roberto Firmino and Salah.
Puel set his team up in a 4–4–1–1. Former Manchester United player Jonny Evans played alongside Maguire at the back. Demarai Gray and James Maddison provided the width on both flanks. Up top, Jamie Vardy was supported by Marc Albrighton, who was playing slightly behind him. Kelechi Iheanacho, Shinji Okazaki, and Hamza Choudhury had to start the game on the bench.
The approach
Liverpool started the game in brilliant fashion. After a solid minute of possession, Mane found Andrew Robertson empty on the left flank with a simple pass. The Scottish full-back then played the ball into the feet of Firmino. The Brazilian, noticing Mane had already made his run inside the left half-space, smartly flicked the ball into his path. Mane then gave Liverpool a great start by slotting the ball calmly inside the far post to make it 1–0.
Mane, Robertson, and Firmino combined for the game’s opening goal.
Despite conceding an early goal, Leicester opted to play defensively in a 4–4–2. They happily used a compact 4–4–2 when they didn’t have the ball. Going forward, Leicester would opt to use counter-attacks as their main weapon, utilising Gray and Vardy’s deadly pace.
Leicester surprisingly stayed defensive with a compact 4–4–2 despite being behind.
Liverpool were not satisfied with just one goal. They were constantly looking for the second goal but Leicester’s low-block gave them problems. In the first phase of their build-ups, Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip always struggled to distribute the ball forward because they had to face Albrighton and Vardy in front of them. Klopp then tasked one of his midfielders, usually Wijnaldum, to create numerical superiority against Leicester’s frontmen. This resulted in smoother first phase build-ups by Liverpool.
Wijnaldum dropped to help Matip and Van Dijk in possession.
Liverpool also used a quite similar approach to what they had deployed against Crystal Palace in the previous gameweek. They sent their full-backs high on both flanks to provide width. By doing this, Liverpool were hoping for them to send crosses into the box whenever possible.
Klopp’s choice to implement this tactic had other consequences. In the newly-shaped 3–4–3, there were some adjustments to the attackers. Shaqiri was tasked with tucking inside and dropping into midfield from his initial position as a right winger. This filled the vacated area left by the dropping midfielder.
Salah, Firmino, and Mane were instructed to stay close to the defenders, sometimes placing themselves in the channels between the back four. This was so they could receive the ball directly to their feet. When one of them got the ball, they would then combine with his teammates nearby to create chances. Klopp was very aware of his attackers’ ability in tight spaces, hence why he opted to use this approach.
Henderson and Robertson were placed high and wide to provide width.
In this temporary 3–4–3, Liverpool’s attacking trio didn’t drop. They would place themselves next to the defenders and ask the ball to be played to their feet.
Firmino, Mane, Salah, and Shaqiri have great ability in tight spaces which allows them to combine and create chances against teams with low block.
Puel’s adjustments
In the 23rd minute, Puel made some changes to his team. Gray, who was initially playing as a right winger, was moved to the left wing. Maddison made way, and move himself behind Vardy. Albrighton then switched to the right flank to complete the adjustments.
Gray was considered to be Leicester’s best dribbler. In his new position, he had to face an emergency right-back in Jordan Henderson. He gave the home side’s captain a lot of problems with his pace and magnificent dribbling. There were some moments when Henderson was misplaced or late to track back; these moments were exploited by Leicester, thus making Gray their main outlet in attacks.
Gray actually possessed less defensive quality than Albrighton. Sometimes the youngster was badly positioned, therefore allowing Henderson to freely receive on the right flank. Whenever Henderson received the ball, he would try to send it into the box with his crosses. Luckily for Leicester the crosses resulted in nothing, as a result of Maguire’s rock-solid performance.
In this transitional sequence, Ndidi finds Gray easily in behind. Unfortunately, the latter failed to find anyone inside the box with his cutback pass.
Henderson sometimes miscalculated his attacking runs, thus giving Gray a lot of spaces to exploit.
Gray failed to close the passing lane to Henderson. This allowed Henderson to receive freely and only have Ben Chilwell in front of him.
On the opposite side, Robertson’s attacking threats were perhaps the main reason why Albrighton was sent to the right flank. Robertson was very aggressive and very willing to join the attacks. He could even be found inside Leicester’s penalty box to receive crosses at the far post.
Robertson joined his team’s counter-attack. Albrighton was a bit late to track back but luckily Leicester had already put bodies inside their box.
Robertson went aggressive in this sequence; asking the ball to be played into him. Albrighton closed the passing lane brilliantly this time.
The former Aston Villa player possessed a better defensive ability than Gray and Maddison, therefore making him the most logical option for Puel to be his right winger. Albrighton was more disciplined defensively and successfully limited Robertson’s threats because of that trait.
Magnificent Maguire
The ‘Slabhead’ played brilliantly in attack and defence. In defence, he was very sound thus making The Foxes almost impenetrable. Maguire won five out of seven duels and made ten clearances in total. His ball distribution was not bad either; all three of his long pass attempts found their targets in this game. Offensively, Maguire was more than good for his team. When names like Vardy and Maddison failed to create anything, Maguire stepped up and score the equaliser for his team with the last kick of the first half.
Apart from Maguire’s outstanding performance, we must give credit to Puel’s choice to utilise dead-ball situations. When his counter-attacks didn’t work in this game, he still has a potent alternative for set-pieces. Puel used Maguire very well in such situations, and his goal was a result from one of the set-piece routines.
Puel would place Maguire at the far post in dead-ball situations. At the far post, Maguire usually only had Henderson to face because Van Dijk was placed more centrally. Maguire’s sheer size gave him the qualitative superiority and allowed him to dominate Henderson in aerial duels.
Besides, when he came from the far post he would be almost undetectable. This happened because he came from the defender’s blind-spot. With his undetectable runs and supreme aerial ability, Maguire was a nightmare for Liverpool’s defence throughout this match.
Maguire started at the far post before his goal. Van Dijk couldn’t track his run because Maguire was behind him and made his run from the Dutchman’s blind-spot.
Maguire escaped the offside trap after a cheeky assist by Chilwell. Van Dijk didn’t know Maguire was there, and was punished. Henderson (raising his hand) didn’t even try to stop him. 1–1.
Surprisingly, Liverpool had no response to this. In the 52nd minute, Leicester got another free-kick in a relatively similar place to the one that led to Maguire’s goal. Again, Klopp’s men allowed Maguire to be completely free at the far post. Maguire came from Henderson and Van Dijk’ blind-spots and both of them somehow did not learn from what had happened just minutes before.
Maguire came from Henderson and Van Dijk’s blind-spots: silly defending from the home side.
Unfortunately for Leicester, Maddison’s free-kick was a bit too deep, and Maguire was unable to head the ball directly at goal. Instead, Maguire headed the ball across the goalmouth, hoping for one of his teammates to tap the ball in. In fact, the ball arrived at Firmino’s shin and deflected towards Alisson’s goal. Alisson reacted brilliantly by saving the ball with his feet to keep the score even.
Alisson had to make a goal-line save in this sequence.
Deeper and deeper
Leicester were more cautious in the second half and opted to sit deeper, especially for the last 15 minutes. At times, Leicester even used 6–3–1 defensively in order to nullify Liverpool’s wing-play. In that shape, both full-backs would tuck inside and the wingers would retreat in parallel with the defenders.
Leicester deployed 6–3–1 for some occasions in the second half.
Puel sent Choudhury on for Maddison in the 75th minute. As a right winger, the newly-introduced 22-year-old didn’t even cross the halfway line in his cameo performance. Instead, he made one great tackle to deny Mane from creating a dangerous chance late in the game. Then, the French manager added Okazaki for more defensive solidity in the 84th minute.
Conclusion
Once again, Liverpool had it hard against a team with a compact low-block. Klopp made some attacking adjustments from his team’s previous match but they were not enough. The absence of Milner and Alexander-Arnold did limit his team’s ability to create from the right flank. Henderson was not quite the man to fill the job.
Liverpool were also a bit lucky because their defensive failures went unpunished. Especially in dead-ball situations, there were some errors that would have cost the Reds in another match. On the other hand, we must give credit to Puel and his players, who smartly exploited Liverpool’s weaknesses. His defensive approach worked as planned, and his set-piece routines were excellent.
Approaching this weekend, the gap between Liverpool and Manchester City is five points. With 14 league games remaining and Champions League duty for both teams, the title race is far from over. Klopp now has a huge amount of homework to do, namely to improve his team’s ability at both ends. If he fails to do so, Liverpool will always struggle against lesser teams and their title hope could be in danger.

IT HAS BEEN about a year now since my involvement with the Dozier School For Boys began taking over my world. Kicking off the whirlwind was my need to get my hands on the school’s student ledgers. I won’t rehash the entire adventure but what I will say is that it took many frustrating nights online, several emails to the Archivist, the potential of an $600+ bill to get digital copies & finally an 8 hour round trip before I’d actually have what I wanted…Well at least a quarter of what I wanted!
HAVING ABSOLUTELY NO clue what I was looking for, I spent the next several weeks trying to organize what I had. Almost immediately number of very distinct patterns began jumping out at me. The same sentencing judges over & over again, the SAME sentence length OR lack there of & a crap load of blank spaces; Specifically under the “WHEN/HOW RELEASED” columns. One would expect that any institution handling children would be required to keep detailed & accurate records of ALL of its charges, especially when it comes to their last known whereabouts BUT that would make too much sense, now wouldn’t it…
THE INFO THAT I had gotten was only from the latest volume of the ledgers & didn’t even make a dent in the number of boys that had been shoved through the doors to be reformed. I knew there were hundreds OR even thousands of names in those books. I maybe had a few hundred at the most. By now, I had gotten used to what I like to call the “Hurry Up & Stop” method of researching. Basically I’d need specific info, finally get said info ONLY to start looking it over & promptly figure out that I needed additional material OR even worse, I’d need something entirely different altogether. In this case, I had just assumed that I’d eventually be making another trip to the Archives; That is until I ended up becoming involved with Bob Straley & taking over his website…And right there on one of the site pages was a link to the detailed, handwritten notes that WHB Mr. Andrew Puel had spent hours putting together.
Mr. Andrew Puel At The State Archives…Sitting In The EXACT Same Spot That I Did When I Was There!
      NOT IT!!
WHEN I SAW that link, I was beyond thrilled! I was finally going to have something reliable to validate what I had come up with! I had spoken with Andrew at Bob Straley’s memorial service & knew that any research he had done would be the best & most accurate info that I could possibly get. When the page loaded, it definitely did NOT show what I had been hoping for; In all actuality, it showed nothing but this:
ODDLY THE INFO was missing! I started clicking on some of the other older links on the website & sure enough, there were quite a few that led to nowhere. I don’t know why it gone OR where it went, only that it’s not there. I tried not to get to aggravated, thinking that there had to be a hard copy among the thousands of documents that I have. I spent the next several weeks going through EVERY page, folder, digital file, etc. & found nothing. Bob kept everything, so to say I was puzzled that he wouldn’t have a copy of something so important was a huge understatement. I did another look through, literally taking out every piece of paper, one by one; Still nothing.
  Well Damn….
    AN EVENING IN GAINESVILLE
ON A FRIDAY in late February, I made the 3 hour trip to Gaineville. With me was a small black bag filled with what I believed to be the most important material related to the Arthur G Dozier School for Boys. I pulled up to a beautiful home, tucked back in a quiet sub division that was surrounded by forest. Standing outside was a familiar face, Mr. Bryant Middleton. The “Whitehouse Boy” greeted me with a smile & a brief hug before inviting me inside to meet his wife. Both graciously spent several hours telling their personal story of Dozier & how the WHB’s Organization was founded. They were both lovely people & I was grateful that they had been so willing to meet with me & be as open as they were. When we finally moved into the dining room to look over the things that I had brought, I began pulling things out. I yanked a folder out that had been wedged inside of my over full bag & a stack of papers fell out. The stack was stapled together & folded in half. I picked it up to see what it was & as I unfolded it, my jaw hit the floor!
OH…MY…GOD…It was a hard copy of the list of missing boys! The same list that I had just spent weeks trying to find! The stuff inside of that bag was the stuff that I pulled out & reviewed quite frequently & there’s absolutely NO way that I would missed that thick stack of ledger pages! I slid the stack across the table, explaining to Bryant why I was a bit stunned at finding them. He thought it was strange as well. I’m not going to get into the specifics of my time with the Middletons in this post, although I will say that I’m very fortunate to have met with them. They’re great people & they continue to work toward keeping the future from repeating the past.
    WHERE COULD THEY BE?
OF COURSE THERE is minimal info on the boys on this list. What is known is that most were listed as escaped but never recovered. A lot lacked permanent homes OR guardians, so there wouldn’t have been any concerned parents wondering about the whereabouts of their lost boy. It should also be noted that the last place they were seen was the Dozier School for Boys in Marianna. That leaves so many unanswered questions; Could ALL 185 boys on that list have actually successfully escaped & moved on to a better life? Even if that did happen, would it be possible that NOT 1 single child ever be heard from again? I suppose it could be possible for some BUT for All 185? I seriously have my doubts & given the history of Dozier, I’d say that’s highly unlikely. Especially considering the significant proof of other burial sites on the school’s 1200+ acres.Whether or not they continued life after Dozier OR their lives were taken at the school, they each deserve to be recognized. I’ll let them speak for themselves….

Liverpoolconceded a goal for the first time this season thanks to a howler from goalkeeper Alisson but survived a scare from Leicester City to move three points clear at the top of the Premier League. First-half goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino gave the unbeaten Reds a seemingly unassailable lead, but Leicester were much improved in the second half and deservedly reduced the arrears through Rachid Ghezzal. Jurgen Klopp made one change for Liverpool for the final game before the international break. Jordan Henderson came back into midfield which saw Naby Keita drop to the substitutes’ bench. Marc Albrighton and Rachid Ghezzal replaced Daniel Amartey and Kelechi Iheanacho, who were both among the substitutes. Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel made his 300th appearance for Leicester after signing a new contract in midweek and was into the action within the first three minutes. Five things we learned as Liverpool beat Leicester Mohamed Salah put Roberto Firmino through but he could only fire against Schmeichel’s legs, and from the rebound, Salah sidefooted wide. The Reds took a 10th-minute lead when Mane made the most of his ricochet off Harry Maguire from Andrew Robertson’s cross to bury left-footed to Schmeichel’s right for his third goal of the season. Liverpool remained on top and Joe Gomez sent a header looping well over the bar from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner. Leicester’s first chance came in the 22nd minute when Demarai Gray got away from a defender to latch on to Rachid Ghezzal’s pass and squeezed in a shot that Alisson smothered. Mane got Liverpool up and running (REUTERS) The home side continued to find it hard to open Liverpool up, and were being forced to try their luck from distance as Albrighton then Maddison fired over from long range. But they had eased themselves into the game and were finally starting to give Klopp’s side something to think about. Just as Leicester might have thought they had turned the tide, Liverpool broke away quickly and soon doubled their lead. Salah forced Schmeichel to push his shot around the post, and from their second successive corner, Roberto Firmino met James Milner’s flag-kick with a firm header into the far corner of the net from 10 yards to make it 2-0. Firmino headed in the Reds’ second goal (REUTERS) Firmino’s aerial presence exposed some poor marking from Leicester’s James Maddison. Leicester pressed to reduce the arrears following the restart and Ghezzal surprised Alisson with a low cross that bounced just wide of the far post when the goalkeeper might have expected his defence to deal with it. Claude Puel’s side continued to probe and Maddison looked to test Alisson with a curling effort from 25 yards but it flew into the chest of the Liverpool goalkeeper. Maddison was the nearly man again in Leicester’s next attack, when only the outstretched leg of the lunging Gomez blocked a goalbound effort after he wriggled past Alexander-Arnold deep inside the box. Alisson’s mistake gave Leicester a chance of a share of the points (Reuters) Leicester were now having their best spell of the game as the hour mark approached. Wes Morgan failed to sort his feet out from point-blank range after Marc Albrighton and Gray also missed contact from Ben Chilwell’s low centre that somehow escaped Liverpool’s back line. Leicester’s persistence was rewarded in the 63rd minute when they deservedly pulled a goal back. And after so much criticism of Liverpool’s goalkeeping department in recent years, it was another howler from their first line of defence. Liverpool remain top of the Premier League (Liverpool FC via Getty Images) Alisson dallied on a back pass from Virgil Van Dijk and allowed himself to be dispossessed by substitute Kelechi Iheanacho on the byeline and he crossed for Rachid Ghezzal to steer home. It was the first goal Liverpool had conceded in 418 minutes of Premier League football going back to May 6 and the first Alisson had let in in club football since last season’s Champions League semi-final when he was playing for Roma, against Liverpool. Klopp made a double substitution on 69 minutes in a bid to wrest back control of the game as Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri came on for Henderson and Salah. The changes made little effect however, although Leicester’s charge faded somewhat, until Mane glanced wide from Milner’s free kick with nine minutes left. Iheanacho brace as Leicester thrashes Peterborough in FA Cup
LONDON/January 27, 2018 (AP)(STL.News) — Kelechi Iheanacho grabbed a first-half double as Premier League team Leicester beat third-tier Peterborough 5-1 Saturday in the FA Cup fourth round.
Fousseni Diabate also scored twice on a promising debut, with Wilfred Ndidi completing the scoresheet.
Andrew Hughes got a consolation goal for Peterborough at London Road.
Fourth-tier Newport hosts Tottenham later Saturday and Liverpool faces visiting West Bromwich Albion.
Claude Puel made 10 changes from the Leicester side that beat Watford in the Premier League last week with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez both named on the bench.
Despite driving rain, the Foxes were a goal ahead with just nine minutes gone after Peterborough gave the ball away following a sloppy throw-in. Iheanacho slid the ball through to Diabate, and the 22-year-old forward, who arrived at Leicester from Ligue 2 club Gazelec Ajaccio earlier this month, drove into the box before prodding home with his left foot.
It was to get even worse for the hosts just three minutes later after Chris Forrester gifted the ball to Iheanacho deep inside the home side’s half. The former Manchester City forward had options to his left, but he chose to go alone, curling his left-footed strike into the bottom corner.
Leicester put the game firmly out of reach shortly before the half-hour mark when Iheanacho netted his second of an impressive afternoon, volleying home from six yards (meters) out.
The Nigerian has become an FA Cup specialist in recent seasons with his first-half double here taking him to nine in the last two years. No other player has more in the competition.
Peterborough rallied in the second half and pulled a goal back after 57 minutes when Hughes scored from a corner. It was the first goal Leicester has conceded this year.
Diabate completed a fine debut when he added a fourth after 87 minutes before substitute Ndidi fired home with the final kick of the match.

Supporters of Liverpool have this afternoon taken to Twitter of their droves to unmarried out Joel Matip for complaint, after his mistake resulted in the outlet purpose in their conflict with Leicester.
Matchup
The 2 facets are lately locked in motion at Anfield, with the hosts getting into court cases at the again of a blistering contemporary run of shape in entrance of purpose.
The Reds had notched 12 objectives of their earlier Three league outings, together with a Five-Zero demolition of Swansea closing day trip.
Leicester, in the meantime, noticed a very good run of type of their very own come to a crashing halt two weeks in the past, when the Foxes fell to a surprise Three-Zero defeat at house to Crystal Palace.
Claude Puel’s males did not win any in their Three home fixtures since, with their newest loss having come by the hands of Watford at Vicarage Highway all through the week.
Groups
The lineups for the matchup had been introduced an hour previous to kick-off, with Jurgen Klopp choosing Five adjustments from the facet that dispatched of Swansea on Tuesday:
As of late’s #LFC facet to stand @LCFC…https://t.co/nMuYXhdlI3 http://pic.twitter.com/Xi9v9VasWU
— Liverpool FC (@LFC) December 30, 2017
Leicester boss Puel, in the meantime, opted for the next:
Right here’s how the Foxes will form up for #LivLei
Schmeichel; Amartey, Maguire, Morgan (c), Fuchs, Mahrez, Iborra, Ndidi, Albrighton, Grey, Vardy.
Subs: Hamer, Dragovic, Slimani, Okazaki, James, Thomas, Musa. http://pic.twitter.com/TgORqLHhTK

At the back of
Unsurprisingly, Liverpool had been labelled heavy favourites getting into court cases this afternoon, regardless that many pointed to the risks that Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy may just reason the hosts’ shaky backline as explanation why for the Foxes to care for hope of a outcome.
And it was once Leicester’s sensible duo who blended to present the guests the lead with simply Three mins at the clock, as Joel Matip’s dreadful cross out from the again left the drowsing Emre Can with paintings to do, permitting Vicente Iborra to nip in and drill a perfect cross out broad for Mahrez.
Mahrez took his time, ahead of rolling a super cross around the Leicester field for Vardy to drill house.
Response
Liverpool’s fanatics had been instantly incensed with the unnecessary nature of the purpose, with Joel Matip having since been torn aside on-line:

— Gary Beggs (@GaryBeggs_8) December 30, 2017
I stated time and time once more, Matip is as dangerous as Lovren. However since he’s a loose signing, he’s a cult hero.
— Unhealthy Hombre (@WeHaveKlopp) December 30, 2017
Matip is soooo dangerous, deficient Van Dijk has to make a choice from partnering with him, Lovren or Klavan, gotta really feel for the fellow
— Blake Fink (@SausageFinks) December 30, 2017
How the narrative has moved to ” This is the reason LFC signed VVD and now not how Deficient Matip has been this season is the explanation we’re right here #LFC
— gabby (@gzewu) December 30, 2017
Other people stay blaming Matip’s deficient performances on Lovren. We simply were given to grasp that if truth be told, he’s not so good as we would like him to be.
— Dominic Campbell (@dom_campbell) December 30, 2017
Matip appearing why @LFC splashed giant cash on @VirgilvDijk Terrible protecting.
— Andrew Enticott (@ash5365) December 30, 2017
Do we have now some other spare £75m mendacity round to get some other part respectable centre-back? Severely, what the fuck was once Matip even pondering there.

  MAY 2018
PART ONE LEFT off with the Bestie & I exiting through the back doors of what I believe to be one of the campus infirmaries. As we walked down the chipped, moss covered terra cotta steps & stepped out into the drizzling rain, we saw another large section of fence that had been smashed down by some large fallen branches.
  Down & Out…
WE STILL HAD the protection of the trees but we could see through just enough to notice an open area that was at least the size of a football field.
  Wide Open Spaces…
DECIDING TO WAIT to check it out, we opted to access the middle area of the building. Even though the structure was technically 1 building, it was divided into 3 sections…The 1st, where we had just exited from, had the set of steps inside of a partial enclosure. Once down those steps, we had to walk across the fallen chain link fence, climbing another set of steps, up to a small, elevated patio. Only then were we able to enter the 2nd set of rooms.
  Door Number 2…
Downed Fence…
DOOR NUMBER TWO was a large room that I recognized instantly…It was the same room I had been in just a little over 2 months earlier. As horrible as its condition had been then, it was 100 times worse this day. The ceiling had come down even more, causing several beams to fall. To say that the entire structure was just hanging on by a thread was putting it lightly. With the amount of rain that had saturated everything the fear of the building coming down at ANY time on top of us started to become a real possibility.
AS WE LOOKED around it was hard to ignore that the floor had almost a spongy feeling to it due to a mixture of rotting floor, soaked insulation, mud & debris that consisted of God ONLY knows what. There was also at least an inch of water that had accumulated. Our feet sunk in with every step, a feeling that for some reason made my stomach turn.
I’M STILL ABSOLUTELY amazed at the amount of deterioration that had taken place in just a few short months. What was even more amazing were the little random things that had been spared. A couple of fire extinguishers…One still hanging on a wall that was barely supporting a sagging sealing; The 2nd sat upright on the soggy mess that had once been a floor. The 2 large whiteboards still hung firmly in place as well. The bigger of the two still contained the list of “Rules/Expectations” that the boys were expected to follow. I read each one again, finding it ironic that there were a number of things that the students were forbidden to do & yet most of them were repeatedly victimized by the adults that had written them, often in the very same ways that they, themselves, were forbidden to behave.
Tumblr media
AS WE MOVED through to the back room, we had a funny moment that broke the tension that we’d both been feeling since entering the building. It happened when we attempted to exit through the same back back door that we’d entered through, only this time when we went to open it was freaking stuck! As I tried gently pushing it open, the Bestie came up beside me & before I even realized what was going on, I see her lift her leg & literally kick the door so hard that it opened partially…You read that correctly, Homegirl thought she was the newest member of the SWAT Team & kicked open a 118 year old door…That was ONLY attached by 1 hinge…That was attached to a 118 year old building; The same building that I spoke of earlier, mentioning how it was barely hanging on by a thread! She started giggling & this immediately became hysterical laughter when I yelled “WTH are you doing? You can’t kick open a really old door attached to a REALLY old building!!” She looked over at me, hunched over, arms covering my head in case the place started to cave in & laughed even harder…She laughed so hard that she probably would have rolled on the floor…If the floor wasn’t so gross! We quickly left the building through the barely functioning doors, making our way toward the open field we’d seen before.
Tumblr media
  Near Death Experience In Action!
OK, SO MAYBE it might have been just a little funny AFTER we actually made it out alive! Unfortunately, what would be in store for us later would NOT be funny before, during OR after…At least NOT to me!
SHE WHO MISSES EASY PATH MUST SCALE FENCE…
BY THE TIME we were back outside, the rain had finally let up. Shoving our flashlights into our backpacks, we made our way toward the small opening in the trees to see what was in that field. At this point, it could be just about anything & I still hadn’t been able to pinpoint the exact location of the Boothill Cemetery. Could it be in that clearing, hiding in plain sight?? Probably NOT but I wasn’t going to leave the property without being 100% sure. Since there was a large section of chain link fence covering the path, we stepped on it & when it held, walked across & through the bushes….Within seconds we were on the other side of the woods, staring across a massive grassy field that was bordered by more fencing on 2 sides with the main school board building directly across.
WE MADE A beeline to one of the main focal points, an odd mound that was overgrown with grass & weeds. It was interesting to say the least but once we got closer, it was actually something else odd that caught our eye. It was hard plastic & mostly buried in the ground & had a fairly large rock next to it. We were both curious about what it was so of course the Bestie flipped the rock over & then started digging around it’s edges. After several minutes the object was free & it was…The seat part of a chair??? Hmmmm…Underneath was some pea pod looking things with roots growing into the ground.
MAYBE THE AREA had once been used for farming; Who knows. The possibilities were endless considering it had been a part of the school for well over a century.
MOVING ABOUT THE outer of circle of the field, I decided to snap a few pics of the wooded area behind the fence. What was out there? The not knowing was killing me because my gut was telling me it was something important.
  What Is Out There?
Beyond The Fence…
SUDDENLY THE SURROUNDINGS began looking a bit familiar. Another handful of steps & HEY, that looks like the same gravelly path that we drove up when we got…OH SNAP! Cue Bestie Eye Roll…NOW!
  Ooops!
WHAT CAN I say, some days you win, some days you lose & some days you end up performing insane acrobatics just to climb over a fence that’s been flattened by a rotting tree trunk.

I’M TIRED OF THESE MOTHER FLIPPING SNAKES AT THIS MOTHER FLIPPING SCHOOL!
SOME MAY RECALL my earlier mention of a “NOT So Funny” moment that was to take place. Well folks, here it comes! When I had come a few months earlier, I had parked my SUV beside a small brick storage room but this time, the car got pulled up into that grassy path that we had walked to get back to the downed fence. Obviously we took the newly discovered, much easier way back which meant having to walk a longer distance through that grass to get back to the car. About a foot in & the Bestie calmly says “Don’t look down & just walk that way.” I didn’t need to look down OR ask ANY questions…I just knew the reason for her specific instructions.I started repeating “OH CRAP” over & over again as I made the widest path I could around the snake that she had seen. Unfortunately leaving such a wide space between myself & the invisible to me snake solved one issue BUT put me in a whole new world of sh!t as when I was told not to look down, I did & continued to do so as we kept walking. In my head I made up a little song timed to each step. “One Step, Two Steps, NO SNAKES NO NO SNAKES!” I kept it up…“One Step, Two Steps, NO SNAKES NO NO SNAKES!” “One Step, Two Steps, NO SNAKES NO NO SNAKES!” “One Step, Two Steps, NO….FU@K A SNAKE!!!” I literally froze like the Karate Kid; Right leg in mid air, ready to set down…Right on top of a curled up, REALLY BIG, Cottonmouth! I literally held my breath, shifted my weight backwards & stood paralyzed inches from “The Beast” & tried to get the Bestie’s (whom I will be referring to by her nickname from here on out!) attention, who happened to be standing almost right next to it! All I could get out was “OH GOD!”, which actually got her attention & she turned to look at me. Then, fearing that she would step on it OR it would strike if she moved, I said “Don’t freaking move! As I had known what her earlier warning was about, she already knew what I was talking about. She calmly said “You don’t move & I’m going to go get the car…Throw me the keys.” I was in one of those places where fear causes your adrenaline to jump & you can’t really hear anything. For at least a minute I could see her lips moving but really couldn’t make out one damn word! I started freaking out, crying & finally one word got through…KEYS! Oh sh!t, I had the keys in my backpack & she wanted me to toss them to her! I slowly reached my hands around to my back, unzipped the front pocket & felt around for my keys, eventually feeling the familiar shape of my car remote. Pulling them out slowly I stood there holding them in my shaking hands. E said “Now throw them over here.” I couldn’t bring myself to do it as ALL I could see was a scenario of my shaking hands trying to throw a set of keys & if my throw was off OR if she didn’t catch them, they’d land on the ground & she’d get bit trying to retrieve them. Finally she said “Throw the damn keys!” Without thinking I did an underhand toss & she actually caught them! She then pointed at me & said “Stay There” & started walking to the car again. It only took a minute before that sunk in & I said “F That” & did my best Forrest Gump run! I didn’t stop until my feet were firmly planted on the gravel road. She drove up not even a minute later & found me bent over, hands on knees, out of breath & trying not to puke! “You OK?” I responded with I think I may have peed myself! This was definitely going to put a damper on the rest of the day.
SORRY FOLKS BUT NO pics OR videos were taken during this horrible event as I was too busy trying to keep “THE BEAST” from eating us BUT I do have this…
